INTERVIEW: In light of the recent tragedy and mass shooting in Uvalde Texas that took place earlier this week, we’re talking to the kids. The students who across the country participated in school walkouts and are taking a stance on the current climate of gun reform in the United States. As you’ll hear there’s a lot of talk around mental health, but more-so the sheer access we have to firearms in this country. Simply put, in America a gun has more rights than a woman’s body. This begs the question, what can we do on a local level to instill change? In this series I’m joined by local student protestors along with Erica Vilardi-Espinosa — a candidate for the local Los Angeles School Board (specifically LAUSD School Board District 2). She shares with Bedside her thoughts on how we can begin to better instill systems that support the wellbeing and safety of students and educators alike.

INTERVIEW: Today I’m in conversation with my guest, Dr. Marcy Crouch, about the unsung hero in sexual health: the pelvic floor. Now I’m sure a lot of you might have an idea of what the pelvic floor does for our health and wellbeing, but I’m also going to guess that you might not know much at all! That’s why I’m excited to introduce Dr. Marcy Crouch, AKA The Down There Doc, and Board Certified Clinical Specialist in Women’s Health Physical Therapy. Today Marcy shares with Bedside just what is going on down there between the purpose of our pelvic floor functionality (hint: it’s A LOT), and the importance and service of the pelvic floor to our sexual wellbeing. Dr. Marcy Crouch knows a thing or two about how our pelvic floors are linked to all things sex. So much so she decided to create programs designed for mothers and birthing persons everywhere as the NEW standard for birth prep and recovery. She is changing the way women are preparing for their births and elevating postpartum care for all.

In our conversation, Ev’Yan shares their own story of sexual reclamation, and gives insight into how we can tune into our own sensualities and desires to have a more pleasure-filled purpose. We speak about how she is creating newfound space to maintain connectivity during these uncertain times, and delve into details of Ev’Yan’s beloved pleasure practice: Sensual Dance Meditation. Together we explore topics of healing, everyday pleasure, and even get into some astrology. What are you waiting for? Tune on in!

INTERVIEW: Today's episode features Gina Gutierrez, co-founder of the audio erotica app Dipsea. The best way I describe Gina's product is a hybrid between audio books and guided meditation ~ but sexy. It's a millennial, female-gaze-focused, and tasteful take on erotic short stories. A direct response to what Gina herself felt was missing in the conventional sex entertainment space. In this interview, Gina gets real with Bedside about her own sexual wellness routines, what contemporary content creation looks like for Dipsea, and what she's dreamed up for the future of her company. What are you waiting for? Go listen, and we promise you'll leave with a new favorite way to explore your own pleasure.

INTERVIEW: Consider this episode your Queer History 101. I chat with Jonathan Katz, a leading activist and academic pioneer working at the intersection of art and LGBTQI+ history. Katz has a distinct background, rising with the queer movement since he first began his work in the early 90’s, and continuing on to be the first tenured faculty in Gay and Lesbian studies in the United States. In our conversation, Katz and I chat about his own coming-of-age, the importance of homosexualization in art, and where he predicts the future of identity is headed. This is an episode not to miss.
INTERVIEW: It's finally here! In this first episode of the Bedside Podcast, I chat with Al Vernacchio, a renowned sex-positive Human Sexuality educator based in Philadelphia. Vernacchio has been featured on four TED Talks, The New York Times Magazine, NPR, and lectured workshops across the country. In our conversation, Vernacchio and I chat about our current sex landscape and his philosophies on how we should really be talking about sex.
