As years passed I became more inquisitive about how silk was made and one fine day when I watched the video, I was shocked. 1 meter of silk costed the lives of 3500 silkworms. That’s when I decided that I wanted to create something that is ethical, cruelty free and that promotes sustainability” shared Purvi Doshi on CAC live, as she spoke about why she chose to go no-silk way in the times when silk is the best finery available in fashion.

Fashion mirrors the society we live in.

Our culture has an impact on the way we wear clothes. The colours of fabrics, weaves, lengths of garment, drapes etc are governed by the topography of the place, weather, religious beliefs and traditions of a particular tribe.

With the evolution of society, these changes also affect the way people dress.

Thus, to know the history of a place, observing the changes in their clothing would be a good place to follow.
