Well for anyone not following any of our other social media, surprise! It’s a boy. We took placement of a newborn boy as foster parents for the 3rd time. We thought we were done for now, but life has a way of keeping you on your toes. He is a sibling of our daughter who we just finalized adoption in April (see episode 177) and we are honored to love and care for him as long as he is with us. On that note, our Voicemail friend also listened to episode 177 and was inspired to call us. So it’s an exciting episode.

Just like WW84, We didn’t get to watch Soul on Christmas, but we were finally able to sit down and watch once we got back home. Although the film didn’t make a huge impression on us at first, our son has been asking to see it often. Upon multiple viewings, the movie has grown on us as well. We take a little time to discuss the film this week on a rainy Saturday in Southern California.
We also talk about the first of 26 new board games we will play in 2021. Our goal is to play a new one as a family every other week with one member taking the responsibility of learning it each time to teach the rest.

PiCast Episode 156 - The Unicorn
We discovered a new sitcom on Netflix called the Unicorn. We didn’t realize it debuted on CBS last year. We caught up on season one just in time for season two to start on CBS All Access. The main draw of the show is the cast, particularly, Walton Goggins. Scott is a big fan of him from The Shield, Hateful 8, and the Righteous Gemstones. He is a fantastic actor who usually plays very intense characters. This is a departure from that. It’s a family oriented sitcom about a group of friends trying to get their widower friend (Goggins) back into the dating world. Since he is single, able to be in a long term relationship and not only interested in hooking up, he is known as the titular “Unicorn”.

Also, November is Adoption Awareness month. We talk about a great organization that helps Foster kids, Together We Rise. Look them up and donate if you can. We sent them some board games to provide to kids in the foster system and last year we volunteered to chaperone a group on a trip to Disneyland. Look them up!

PiCast Episode 120 - Fall Dapper Day 2019
We had a great Fall Dapper Day weekend this year. As you may know, we missed Fall Dapper Day last year because we are finalizing the Adoption of our son. We got a hotel near the park and spent the entire weekend celebrating. The weekend started out a little rocky as you’ll hear, but it was, over all, a fantastic time!
On Dapper Day itself, we attended a meetup put on by @blackgirldisney, @boundersofcolor, and @afrosandpixiedust. They chose a spot in Toon Town by Roger Rabbit’s Cartoon Spin and the location was perfect. There was shade and a beautiful background of trees, plus a ton of wonderful people! We got to meet and take photos with many Instagrammers whom we have been following and made a bunch of new friends, too! This was probably one of the best meetups we’ve attended!
As for our outfits: Friday was casual. Saturday was Star Wars themed. Scott wore a Darth Vader (Anakin) Suit with a Red Tie by Opposuits and Brittany was in a Yellow and Gold Padme Amidala inspired ensemble. That would make Xander our little Luke! We were hoping for a little Leia to join our family, but we are still waiting on that call!
