Tuukka Rask retired, Zdeno Chara reached another milestone, Pat Verbeek was hired by the Anaheim Ducks as General Manager, Ken Holland finally did the thing (fired Dave Tippett), Martin St. Louis is an interim head coach in Montréal, Cammi Granato is an Assistant General Manager in Vancouver and “Off the Cuff” returns to haunt Cam.

Also, Duncan Keith was traded to the Edmonton Oilers, Vladimir Tarasenko requested a trade from the St. Louis Blues, Pekka Rinne retired after spending his entire career with the Nashville Predators and the Minnesota Wild bought out Zach Parise and Ryan Suter.

Auston Matthews signed an extension with the Toronto Maple Leafs. What does this mean for the Leafs? Alex Stalock, Jordan Martinook and Pheonix Copley all signed extensions with their clubs, as Tuukka Rask became the winningest goaltender in Boston Bruins history, Alex Ovechkin became the highest scoring Russian-born NHL player and Paul Maurice reached 1,500 games behind the bench as a head coach.

The Edmonton Oilers fired their president of hockey operations and General Manager, Peter Chiarelli (April 2015-January 2019). The club officially made the announcement after the DTFR Duo finished recording this week’s episode.

The 2018 Hockey Hall of Fame Class was inducted on Monday, plus we remember the NHL Guardians and celebrate Joe Thornton’s milestones. Tomas Plekanec retired-- leaving us a turtleneck to pass on ceremoniously-- and Milan Lucic was fined $10,000.
The Pittsburgh Penguins’ plight comes with an extension for General Manager Jim Rutherford, while the Los Angeles Kings battle the injury bug in net (we finished recording before Wednesday’s trade between the two clubs).
