We've made it to the end of Season 1! Thank you for coming along on this journey with us. We've loved chatting with local business owners about their trek through the business world. One thing that stuck out to us is that no matter where businesses are at, team and support are incredibly important to the success of any type of business.
Don't worry, we'll be back in 2022 with Season 2! We're changing things up so be sure to come back and check it out in Jan.
For Ep. 16 we are joined by Matt, owner of Woodmass Construction. Matt has been running his own business for almost 10 years, starting not long after he left school. From a young age, Matt knew he wanted to work as a tradie and be his own boss so he made it happen! Matt likes to keep things fun and relaxed with his work but is very hands on making sure that stuff gets done to a high standard. This works well for everyone as the majority of Matt's clients and customers being referred through word of mouth!
As always, please leave us a rating and a review where ever you listen to us. We'll be back soon with more!
For today's episode we are joined by Simon and Angela Bendall of Get Fixed Bicycle Cafe in Porirua. It was awesome to chat to these guys about their business and how it has grown from a side hustle to a full blown, award winning business. Both Simon and Angela are so passionate about their business, you can hear it in the way they talk about their journey and see it in their success.
It was strange recording in lockdown (especially for Riann, who was sitting in a storage cupboard!) but it was a lot of fun to chat with Simon and Angela. For more about Get Fixed Bicycle Cafe, check out their website, their Facebook, or pop down to visit them by the Porirua Harbour!

Holly chats with us about starting her business and how it has grown over the years. From fairs and markets, to social media and websites, to wholesale and retail, Odd Socks has grown from a hobby to a loved and respected brand that is known across Aotearoa. Holly is looking to take that next step in her business which is very exciting to see! We sat down with Rich & Phoebe Edge from PS Digital here in Wellington, NZ. They chat with us about what its like balancing work and life while running a business as a couple.
This doesn't just apply to working couples though, its important for us as individuals to figure out our own work-life balance. We can learn a lot from how Rich and Phoebe manage as a couple and translate that into our own lives.
Now more than ever it is important to get that balance right, there are more important things than work after all.
