The people of Nineveh heed God's message and repent, averting their prophesied destruction. However, Jonah isn't happy about this turn of events. He grumbles and complains to God, upset that God shows mercy to a people he considers wicked. Instead of condemning Jonah, God engages him in a dialogue. God challenges Jonah's narrow view of justice and reveals his own nature of boundless compassion

The Lord wasn't finished with Jonah; He granted him a second chance to fulfill His will. The word of the Lord came to Jonah again, and this time he responded with obedience. Jonah rose, went to Nineveh, and delivered the word of God as commanded, and something remarkable occurred: the people of Nineveh believed in God.

Roman 11: 1-12
The nation of Israel tripped and fell, but it's not permanent. Because of their disobedience, grace has been extended to the gentile world. Hopefully it will provoke them to jealousy so they can get back on track.
Romans 10:1-21
Israel need the gospel because they need God's righteousness, but they rejected it and went about establishing their own righteousness. Their zeal was not according to knowledge and they failed to realize that Jesus did all the heavy lifting. All they had to do is believe. Their failure broke Paul's heart.
Roman 9:14-33
God's is sovereign, which means that He's in charge of the universe and that He can do as He pleases. We shouldn't fear or worry about what He will do in His sovereignty because we know His character. He will never do anything wrong, unjust or unrighteous. He is God.
Romans 9:1-13
Paul is grieved seeing his kinsmen in their current state. He would put himself on the line for their sakes. But there's no unrighteousness with God and He has a plan.
Roman 8:18-39
The present suffering can't compare to the what's waiting for us. Our hope and perseverance is to be redeemed, regenerated and in the presence of our Father. Everything is going to work out, because God knew and predestined us before creation. Nothing will stop His plan.
Romans 8:18-27
The suffering that we go through now can't even compare to the glory that awaits the sons and daughters of God. Even creation is going through its pain. But with perseverance we wait for the blessed hope while the Holy Spirit intercedes for us.
Romans 8:9-16
If the Spirit of God dwells in you, he'll confirm it with your spirit the you are a son of God. God's Spirit is not one to lead us back into the bondage of sin, but into the newness of life where we can call God our daddy.
Romans 7:21- 8:8
No more condemnation! God’s spirit is living in us, we are no longer under the control of the carnal nature. To be carnally minded is death, but we have life and the resource to walk in that life in the Spirit.
Romans 7:7-20
The law cannot save you from sin. It was never meant to. Paul realized his struggles trying to please God through the law. He shares it in a real and relatable way. But was he speaking as Paul or Saul?
Does the gospel message teach us to follow the law in order to live holy? Paul addresses those that were familiar with trying to maintain righteousness through the Mosaic law. That law was the old order. We are free to follow the new order, Jesus Christ.
Roman 6:1-23
We got the gospel, what do we do now? Paul goes into the new order of life. No longer under the bondage and servitude of sin, which we died to, we can freely live in the new resurrected life.
Romans 5:12-21
By one disobedient act of Adam, sin entered the world and reign through death. Mankind had a huge problem and only one man was able to fix it. Jesus Christ’s, the second Adam, righteous act provided the grace to a justified life for all humanity. Jesus is much more.
Romans 5:1-11
Peace, access, and hope, in this episode we examine the wonderful benefits of the gospel of salvation. Rejoice in tribulation.
Roman 4:1-25
It was always based on faith. Paul unveils how this principal of justification by faith is in harmony with the ancient forefathers.
Romans 3:1-31
Those Brooklyn boys are in chapter 3 of Romans this week. The universal indictment of all mankind is that we missed the mark and are all doomed. But God had an awesome plan, available to all, that shows His righteousness. That plan is revealed in Jesus Christ.
Romans 2:17-29
Now the Jews are on the stand. They had the special privilege of knowing the will of God. All their rites, rituals and knowledge didn't mean anything to God because it wasn't paired with obedience. But the big question was about the man on the island?
Romans 2:1-16
Paul addresses the moralist, who having a standard of right and wrong, still practiced the things they were judging and condemning others about. If they don’t repent their fate will be the same as the ungodly. Everyone will have to deal with God.
Roman 1:16-32
The men get into a lengthy vacillating discussion on the revealing of the wrath of God on those who suppress the truth. Is it current or future? Is it being revealed now or does that take place in the final judgment? But what they did agree on, as Paul said, is the righteousness of God revealed in the gospel. And the gospel must be accepted by faith.
Romans 1:1-17The fellas are back, and this season they are discussing the letter Paul wrote to the Romans. This book is rich in theology and Paul doesn’t waste any time stating the subject of the correspondence to his audience. The just shall live by faith.
The men get together for a topical discussion on what happens after you die centered on Jesus Christ's words in Luke chapter 16.
Season 2 is a wrap! The men get together to discuss their journey through the book of Genesis and how it impacted them collectively and individually and share communion.
There was great mourning in the land of Egypt after the death of Jacob, a witness to the impact he had. Joseph's brothers struggle with the grace and forgiveness when they thought Joseph would exact revenge on them after their dad died. At the end of his life, Joseph makes his brothers promise to bury him with his fathers . The end of the road.
Jacob, reaching the end of his life, makes Joseph promise to bury him with his fathers in the land of promise. He also adopted Josephs two sons, Ephraim and Manasseh, elevating them as if they were his first and second born. And for his last patriarchal act, Jacob pronounces prophetic blessings on each of his sons.
Even after he received the news that his son Joseph was alive, Jacob was a little hesitant in leaving the land of promise, where he believed the Lord wanted him to stay. But God met Jacob in a vision and assured him of protection and provision.
When the people of Egypt ran out of food from being poor stewards during the time of plenty, Joseph has too governed the people.
With overwhelming emotions, Joseph finally reveals himself to his brothers. The tests that he put them through proved they were repentant and became honest men. He mends the relationship through forgiveness and shifts their eyes from their sin to God's grace.
Joseph secretly orchestrates a final plan to test his brothers. Put in a situation where Benjamin, Jacob's favorite, can be enslaved or killed, will they sacrifice themselves to save him? Will they recall what they did to Joseph and confess? Joseph wanted to be sure that they came too true repentance. Judah pours out his heart and made intercession for Benjamin, offering himself as a slave instead of his brother. Joseph saw all the change he needed to see in his brothers.
The famine is getting severe but the brothers couldn't go back to Egypt for more food unless Simeon, Jacobs' new favorite travels with them. Judah steps up as the new leader and convinced his father of what has to be done. The brothers were traveling with worry and condemnation but was met with peace and fellowship.
The famine is hitting hard in the land of Canaan where the family of Israel is living, they need to go to Egypt and get food so they won't die. Joseph was governing in the land of Egypt and his brothers came to purchase grain from him. Joseph recognized them but they didn't know who he was. Joseph uses that as an advantage, orchestrating a series of events to bring him and his brothers to a place of reconciliation.
The fellas open up talking about "God's country", America. The many blessing God poured on this land and what would happen if it changes. How should we, as christians, react if our liberties and religious freedom began to erode. Joseph's life can be examined as an example. Left and forgotten in jail, his faith never wavered. God communicates a dream to the king of Egypt that none of his powerful counselors can interpret. But there's a young Hebrew in jail who walk with God that can interpret the dream.
Even in prison the Lord is with Joseph. He met two dreamers and with his gift of interpreting dreams, he tells them what their dreams meant. One got good news and one got bad news.
Joseph is faced with temptation when Potiphar's wife repeatedly tries to seduce him to have sex with her. He preserves his good character and fled from her lust as to not sin against God but he's still him falsely accused of rape and put in jail. The Lord is with you Joe.
Judah leaves his family and the land of promise for the Canaanite way of life. He learns a valuable life changing lesson there that will prepare him to be the leader amongst his brothers.
The special affection Joseph received from his father fueled his immature behavior towards his brothers so they hated him. Joseph receives a revelation from God in a dream and shares it with his brothers. They turned it into a nightmare.
God used the tragic events caused by Jacob's sons to prepare him to go to Bethel where he was supposed to lead his family. Before the Journey Jacob commands his family to sanctify themselves, throw away the false gods and put on clean garments. Rachel dies while giving birth on the journey and Reuben power play fails.
Dinah's attraction to the local culture brought violence and humiliation to her. Jacob's was emotionally silent, but her brothers emotion turned to rage.
Jacob thought his brother Esau was still angry and vengeful towards him, but when Esau saw him, he ran to him, kissed him and wept. Reunited after 20 years and it feels so good.
Filled with terror and distress, Jacob is running out of time as his brother Esau is on his way to meet him. Jacob has to stop running from the his past and confront it head on. But before he can do that he will confront God in a wrestling match. The first to say uncle wins.
Now that God is blessing and prospering Jacob, Laban and his sons are no longer fond him. With his family now on board, Jacob is leading his family back to his fathers land. But Rachel's pilfering ways almost got someone killed.
Leah hoped having multiple children for Jacob would win his affection towards her. Rachel's womb was closed, she grew jealous of her sister. The sibling rivalry multiplies the conflicts in the home.
It was love at first site. Jacob's attraction and love for Rachel made the years of work seem like fleeting moments, but Laban manipulated that whole situation for his personal gain. The trickster got tricked.
Jacob is charged to not marry any of the local Canaanite women but to go find a bride from his moms family. Seeing this, Esau tries to gain his fathers blessing by adding 2 more wives from his dads side of the family. On his journey, Jacob uses a rock for a pillow and takes a nap under the stairway to heaven.
Isaac is willing to trade the blessing to his favorite son Esau for a meal that'll satisfy his cravings. Rebekah will plot against her husband to make sure her favorite son Jacob get the blessing. Jacob is going to lie to his father Isaac to get the blessing. Just another day in the household of the family of promise.
Like his father, while fleeing a famine, Isaac found himself being admonished by his pagan neighbors. Despite his lapse in faith, the Lord still blessed him with abundance to the point the Philistines grew jealous, envious and strived with Isaac.
Abraham lived a full life and died in a good old age. His son Isaac demonstrated his faith patiently praying for his barren wife for 20 years. The fight for supremacy in the womb made Rebekah's pregnancy tough. She had twins, Jacob and Esau, a couple of characters.
Advanced in years, Abraham send his trusted servant to find a bride for the son of promise, Isaac. Through God's divine providence, the servant meets Rebekah and she passed the character test. It's a match made from heaven.
Abraham mourned and weeped for Sarah after she died. In preparation for her proper burial, he spared no expense.
With his relationship growing deeper with God, Abraham is commanded to offer up his only begotten son Isaac for a sacrifice. It was a test and Abraham passed with flying colors. A+.
Ishmael, the son of the bondservant Hagar, is exhibiting negative traits, similar to his mom before she encountered God. He's endangering his younger brother, mocking the promises of God. Sarah’s suggestion to cast them out is based on God's word. Abraham, with confirmation from God, promptly obeys and send them off into the desert. Hey Ish, this is where your mom met God.
Abraham's short coming is on full display again. The schemes to survive, birthed out of fear, just put the promise child in jeopardy. But God is faithful and intervened to protect the promise and His covenant partner Abraham and his wife.
The protests finally reached God. The neighbors are sick and tired of the evil and corruption. God came down to check it out. It's judgement day for Sodom & Gomorrah.
The godly Abraham hosts 3 traveling strangers. When one of the strangers' statements echoed the promise of God, that Abraham and Sarah will have a son, Sarah laughed to herself in disbelief but the stranger heard her. That stranger was the Lord. Haha Sarah...haha.
Progressive revelation. The Lord again meets with Abraham to reveal in more detail what He'll do, Abraham's responsibilities, and what Sarah got cooking.
The impatience for the promise of God causes Sarai to persuades her husband Abraham to have a child using her handmaid as a surrogate to bring in the promised child. God ain't need no help. Here comes the baby mama drama.
Believing in God's promise but struggling to understand it, God sends a message to Abraham through a vision reiterating His covenant then performs a strange ancient eastern custom to confirm it. I got you Abe.
Abraham recruit trained men and set out to rescue his nephew from kidnappers. He offers a tenth to a mysterious priest king figure. He is tempted by the King of Sodom. You can have all the riches, give me the souls.
Nobody win when the family feuds....unless you walking with God. Tension between Abraham and his nephew Lot reaches a tipping point and now they must part ways. The greater humbled himself to the lesser. The lesser took advantage of it.
Abraham the father of faith, the agent through which all the people of the earth would be blessed, the friend of God. But in this episode we'll introduce you to Abram.
"Nothing that they have a mind to do will be impossible for them!". Mankind's hubris and rebelliousness led them to build a tower to reach the Creator. They probably wanted to kill Him.
Origins of the families on earth. The different cultures and languages and customs, it all came from one family. One blood.
Ok, let's try this "be fruitful and multiply" thing again. That's the blessing and the mandate Noah and his family received from God, for the preservation of mankind, after they got off the ark. New diet, violence deterrence and a rainbow for a sign of promise. If it wasn't for the wine things would have been fine.
It's going to rain Noah!!! God's righteous indignation is going to be poured out on all the earth. Noah's faith allowed God to use him to preserve mankind. Noah worked, waited and worshipped. And his worship was a pleasing aroma to God.
The Spirit of God could not longer strive with man. Their hearts were wicked continually. But Noah walked with God. His faith and obedience allowed God to use him to preserve the family of mankind. "Noah, come into the boat. Don't worry, I'll shut the door behind you. Time's up".
Was Enoch's transition to the spiritual dimension unique? And where did he end up? Let's talk about Genesis 6, the unnatural union between the Sons of God and the daughters of men, and how that affected God. The activities on earth reached a tipping point, but Noah found grace in the eyes of God.
Nobody wins when the family feuds. Fruits of the sinful nature in Adam's dysfunctional family culminates in a cold blooded murder. A new city flourishing in the arts, science and technology, but without God only leads to more blood-thirst. But there's still hope.
Worse than a thousand atom bombs, the fallout from Adam’s bomb is still felt until today. Faith replaced with fear, broken relationships, and curses for everyone involved. Jesus is our fallout shelter.
First comes love. Then comes marriage. Then comes the fall of mankind. That was the order of events that took place in the Garden of Eden . The cunning serpent manipulated information with lies to deceive. The first man and woman failed to stand on the word of God.
Meet me at the altar in your white dress. Adam was alone, but it wouldn't be for long. After an exercise of self awareness from God, Adam was better equip to receive his blessing, Eve. And the two became one.
God knew He would have to take an L when He decided to create mankind, but He did it anyway because of His love. He wants a family to share His very being with. Also in an interesting segment, the guys explore the Tree of Life and the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. #knowinpart

Welp! Season 1 is a wrap. We embarked on this journey about six months ago, sharing our Bible study through a podcast, with the hopes that lives would be changed by the word of God. In KnowInPart Season 1 Wrap Up: The Gospel of John, we discuss some highlights, we share our thoughts, some of the ways God spoke to us and shared our testimonies.
John Chapter 21.
Jesus prepares a breakfast by the sea for His disciples. He also restores Peter and commands him to tend and feed His sheep before going back to the Father. And so ends the gospel of John.
John Chapter 20
Dr. Ralph describes the horrific ordeal that Jesus endured from a medical point of view. But even after that trauma, Mary's heart towards her Master compelled her to go to the burial site. The body was not in the tomb. Jesus is alive.
John chapter 19Caving to the pressure of the jews, Pilate unjustly scourged an innocent man in order to satisfy them. He was in a position of authority but weakly submitted to the mob and delivered Jesus to be crucified.
Pilate was a sucka!
John chapter 18.
Betrayal, abandonment, illegal trial, denial, false accusation, rejection. The hour our Lord spoke of has come.
John chapter 17Born again saint, did you know that Jesus prayed for you 2000 years ago? Did you know He is still making intercessions for you right now? In this chapter we get a glimpse into part of Jesus' High-Priestly ministry, His intercessory prayer on the behalf of His followers.
John chapter 16
Jesus is about to leave for the cross, yet His disciples are more concerned about the hard times He told them that they'd go through. Nevertheless, He's not going to leave them alone. The Holy Spirit is coming.
John chapter 15Stick with me kid!
Jesus uses the illustration of the vine and the branch to show the intimate relationship between Him and His followers. The branches abides in the vine by drawing all its life and nourishments from the vine. And when the branch is abiding in the vine, the world will hate it.
John chapter 14
Promises! Promises! Promises! Jesus is about to leave for a bit but He comforted His followers, and you and me, with some promises. And since He's the Keeper of Promises, we can rest assured that all will be kept.
John Chapter 13Although one of them would ultimately betray Him, and another would deny even knowing Him three times, Jesus loved every one of His disciples. In His final hours He washed their feet and left them with a new commandment, "Love one another".
John chapter 12Mary preps for a burial, Judas' heart is revealed and Jesus' triumphal entry into Jerusalem is the public declaration that He is King of Israel. The king is here!!
John chapter 11Lazarus was dead dead. His body was prepped and buried 4 days. His family was mourning. Why didn't Jesus do something? If He was present, Lazarus would have still been alive. For their sake, Jesus had other plans with this tragedy.
John chapter 10Jesus uses a simple illustration of how a shepherd tends, cares and sacrifices for his sheep. The thief is only out to steal, kill and destroy the sheep and the hirelings don't care much about the sheep. Jesus, the true shepherd, loves His sheep and His sheep hears his voice.
John chapter 9"..all I know is that I was blind and now I see”. An unprecedented miracle changed a blind man's life after meeting Jesus. But what he was now seeing didn’t match what he heard all his life.
John 8: 31-59The true children of Abraham would not want to kill Jesus, so who's children are they? Jesus reveals that the actions of the false religious leaders are of the same character of satan. Boom!
John 8: 1-38In their evil plan to use a woman's sin to test Jesus, their own sinful and unmerciful hearts are exposed. They will never escape the bondage of their sin unless they accept the light and truth of Jesus Christ.
John 7:1-53Jesus' own half brothers don't believe Him, the people are divided on who He is and the religious leaders sent officers out to apprehend Him so they can put Him to death. But Jesus' message is the same...follow Me if you want eternal life.
John 6:22-71Did you know not even death can stop God's salvation program? Jesus uses the feeding of the multitude event to springboard into a sermon filed with spiritual truths and promises, including the resurrection from the dead, to those who are His, in the later days. This one was a hard one for some of his followers.
