Today was a great day!!! So thankful for the positive report of grace and respect at Annual Conference yesterday, and the worship and Word that followed. Folks, Christ is coming! May he find us hospitable, and with faith in Him, no matter the cost. A special word on the end of service hymn. “Fairest Lord Jesus” still slaps! I had to stop at the end and listen to the church sing “Glory and honor,
praise, adoration,
now and forevermore be thine.”

Folks, the Holy Spirit doesn’t just bless, He also reminds us of what Jesus said (John 14:25-27). Reminders that don’t come without a plan. Make a plan daily to remember what he said, commit yo it, and you will be better for it! Don’t be afraid! You won’t lose peace in Christ when you make (and stick with!) a plan, you will gain it (cf 1 Samuel 16:11-13). Folks, the Risen Christ has made such an impact on our lives that he asks only one thing about others that we worry about: “What is that to you? You follow me.”- John 21:22. Folks, Christ has done whatever can be done about your problem. Holy Saturday is the proof! As we will explore next week, what Wesley called “The devil’s citadel” was destroyed not only by death, but an empty Tomb. Christ is for sinners and able to save! “Suffered Under Pontus Pilate” is not a dream, it’s hope. Because even in our fear, shame, and indifference to Christ, He is able to give power to overcome our fear, restores our honor, and makes a difference for us. May the Cross be the receipt and symbol of such great love!

Who is Jesus? It’s a 2,000 year old question that despite our best efforts to answer, no answer compares with Peter’s “You are the Christ, the Son of the Most High.” May the Christ who is our Lord, King and Messiah be your answer this week in all things! Have a good one!

- God created, therefore he wants us to enjoy what he created.
- God is Almighty because we don’t deserve ANYTHING, but He gives us life anyway (cf John 1:3).
- God is the Father because the Bible reveals Himself to be and people have experienced such. Any experience of God starts with His Word.

We set up the important sermon series today on the Creeds of our faith. “The Creed is not the worship of ashes, but the preservation of fire.’ paraphrase of Beate Fricke. May His fire be present in the coming weeks….
Folks, Christ died to draw all people to Himself. However, all people does not mean all beliefs about God are valid. For the practicing Christian, Scripture matters. Read it, pray over it, and practice it in a loving way but also with integrity! Be clear! Have a blessed day!
Today was a great day of worship! Communion is a command and vital means of grace from Christ Himself that is critical for our church to consider in a time of prayer for the future in our denomination. What is Communion? A great Sunday with a hopeful theme! Culture can change, but “the hope of glory” in Colossae was believers in Christ kept changing into His image, and didn’t change with the culture, and at the same time weren’t hateful about it. May our church be the same!

Christian’s don’t wear Noah’s Arks around their necks on necklaces. We are Christians because we believe death didn’t hold Jesus in the grave “For it was impossible for Him to be held by it.”- Acts 2:24. How can we be sure? Why is the Bible sure this event happened? Sin is not only outright evil, it’s also apathetic! Sin doesn’t care precisely when we should! All the more reason the Father forgiving the Prodigal son after the son repented for “wild living” and wishing his Father’s death (Luke 15:12-13), is Holy grace of the first order. Gods grace does not condone sin, it does change you! Because of the cross of Jesus, Sin is no longer necessary! May you “wear His ring” today!! Have a good one!

What’s the first thing you think about when you wake up each day? Christ challenged Peter and the sons of Zebedee (John and Andrew) to drop their means of financial security and follow Him, with no promise it would be a good change. Could we do what they did? The problem in society isn’t a lack of righteousness, it’s people who need the most help and don’t take it by telling people no. But “no” is not the end! Gosh! We made it through service without power! Glory to God for offerings that help pay for stuff like an AC!! Remember the lesson of the refiners fire! Jesus coming again to judge means, like removing dross from melted metal, Christ will remove things in your life, that simply don’t need to be there anymore! After he does so, give it time. Like the metal, not every Christian recovers the same way. Now, more than ever, may “ your love abound become even more and more rich with knowledge and all kinds of insight.”

Glory! We had our first normal communion in 14 months!!!! Everything before had been in cups!! Great worship, as we covered our second “Way” of Methodism, “The Word of God made man!”
Notes. Reconciliation for the Christian is only possible if Christ is fully God, and fully man.
- God became flesh not to affirm us, but to change us. He takes us we’re we are, but never leaves us there! We don’t get to dumb down our expectations of Christ, or His for us!

I have listened to Pastor Kaylor’s “Wednesdays with Wesley” for a while now, I have kept tabs on his ministry at Tri Lakes and some podcasts he’s been a part of for some time, and share his passion for orthodox Wesleyan preaching for Jesus Christ, and why that matters. His book “Your best move now” was suggested to me to read before I moved to Troup, the idea of “Cottage meetings” set a great tone for our first year This was a great 28 minute conversation for my preaching class!

Confirmation Sunday is next Sunday/also, next Sunday is the start of Holy week, one of the most important weeks of the Christian faith!
“His grace hath brought me safe thus far...” Newton’s mighty Hymn echoed in the sanctuary at Troup UMC a full year to the day churches across our Conference and nation shutdown due to a dramatic loss of life, and would bring about an unprecedented economic hit to many. A year later, Paul’s charge is the same to the Ephesians who went through adversity (see Acts 19) : “By grace you have been saved.” Rhiannon and I are proud of Christians who have “more than conquered ”(Romans 8:37) through Christ in the last year by having to do what’s necessary. Hang in there! The cross for our sin is sufficient! Don’t forget to like and share. Have a blessed week!

Such a beautiful evening! Thanks to all who helped make it happen. The birth of Christ is more than a story! The Word (Luke 1:1-4), and the impact on believers after the Bible was written is all the proof we need! Today was a great day!!!! Handel, and Mary’s Magnificat have two things in common. When they were sung, Mary and Handel were in trouble. Yet both believed that God reigns! Hush the noisy world today! Today was Remember your Baptism Sunday! The liturgy of remembrance is some of the richest writing in the Christian faith. Our message therefore on why it’s important who we are in Christ is only about 12 mins. However, we invite you to read the questions below we asked our 4 who asked their Baptism to be remembered, and the congregation who joined them. The world is competing hard for the loyalty of Christians right now. Today was a great day because with our vows, we told the world in all its troubles that we care, but our Master Jesus Christ has carried our curse for us, and doesn’t share power!
On behalf of the whole Church, I ask you:
Do you renounce the spiritual forces of wickedness,
reject the evil powers of this world,
and repent of your sin?
I do.
Do you accept the freedom and power God gives you
to resist evil, injustice, and oppression
in whatever forms they present themselves?
I do.
Do you confess Jesus Christ as your Savior,
put your whole trust in his grace,
and promise to serve him as your Lord,
in union with the Church which Christ has opened
to people of all ages, nations, and races?
I do.
According to the grace given to you,
will you remain faithful members of Christ's holy Church
and serve as Christ's representatives in the world?
I will.
Fighting, respect, and winning are great things, but they do not make holiness possible. What does make holiness possible? The cross is a good place to start! Help us spread love by remembering to like the post, share it, and “May inward love guide Thy every need, this were Christ is worship and we are free.’

Christ is worthy: whatever happens in the coming year, it will be ok. Why? Because Christ does not give peace “as the world gives, do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be afraid.”- John 14:27. Remember to like, share, and spread the word! Christ is not the mascot for Christian causes. He is the Word, born and died and mediates between God and people, and will judge the living and the dead! Let’s face it, the world is on fire these days. The Good News of the Bible is, it always has been! Repentance is the only way to put out the fire in our own hearts. That’s what Christ is saving us for, and people who embrace Christ’s cross is the bucket of water we need to get started. Like and share with a thirsty word today! “I can do all things through Christ” is a great, but also one of the most misunderstood Texts in our faith. People have left the church because even though they did something in Christ’s name, it didn’t happen. Is that what Paul meant? “What would Jesus do” is a great bracelet. But Philippians doesn’t play games with what Jesus could do, it does say what Christ has done. Christ has died, and Christ has risen! That’s hope worth banking on in our pandemic era. Remember to like and share!
