One of the events that Paul helped organize in 2022 ultimately set a world record for the largest blanket fort ever constructed, covering 10,000 square feet! Kevan Miller played hockey the right way. His journey to the NHLwent from being cut multiple times, grinding through tryouts and the minors, and then laying his body on the line night in and out to earn a successful career and the respect of Boston Bruinsfans everywhere.
However, that success didn't come without a price. His body took a beating and injuries robbed years from his career and even an opportunity to win the Stanley Cup.
You'd think this kind of journey would make Kevan a bitter man... but it's quite the opposite. He's one of the nicest, most humble, and purpose-filled family men I've ever met.
And this discussion is encouraging for both hockey and non-hockey fans alike who know what it's like to overcome pain and regret.

Grant and Janae Thompson had a picture-perfect relationship. They were both ambitious, had insanely wild dreams, and went after them! They started a YouTube channel called "The King of Random" where Grant would host all kinds of science experiments. Their videos inspired hundreds of millions of people all around the world to explore and learn.
Unfortunately, on July 29, 2019, tragedy struck this amazing couple...
Grant, The King of Random, died in a horrific paragliding accident.
Heartbroken, shattered, and angry, Janae sought to pick her life back up with her boys. After years of struggle and redefining the landscape of her new life, Janae has found hope and passion again.

After enlisting in the Marines, David Helling had profound experiences in the Bible that truly made the scriptures come alive to him. He could see the characters, experience their emotions, etc. He felt the desire to help everyone feel and see what he was feeling and seeing. This desire led him down the path of filmmaking, with the specific desire of telling Biblical stories.
After years of practice on short films, he poured his heart into the story of Abraham and Isaac. After years of hard work, and facing immense opposition, David shares how God worked through him and led him down beautiful paths including his new film, His Only Son, rising to the top of the Box Office!
David joined our host, Charan Prabhakar, to tell the story how he joined with Angel Studios, the team behind The Chosen, to create this incredible film.

If there ever was a man meant to direct movies, it would be Rocco. Rocco and I have crossed paths over the years, but thanks to his gracious invitations to hang with his film family, we’ve become great friends. I first saw Rocco’s work when I watched the Flyboys in 2008. My mind was blown. It was so cinematic and amazing. A total family adventure. Rocco talked about his crazy adventures directing this film, getting arrested while driving cross county, which eventually led to him meeting his wife. Rocco took a break from directing to raise his boys, and once they finally grew up, dove back into his love for cinema. He recently directed a doc about demolition derby and the insane desire people have had to smash the crap out of each other. Seeing a hole in the marketplace, Rocco created a streaming platform called “Wheelhouse” which is solely focused on creating motorsports content. The platform launches later this month and we’re super stoked to see people’s responses to this amazing doc!

Founder of Muunifi, Taylor Perkins shares the purpose behind Muunifi and how it provides a place for people to connect to successful entrepreneurs, learn from them, and support others in the community along the way.
Normally as a teenager, kids are into cars, rock’n’roll, etc. Taylor may have been into those, but he also had an incredible obsession with the financial market. The idea of investing money and seeing it compound into something greater made the wheels in his head spin. After finding mentors and getting a bit of capital through sales, Taylor learned as much as he could about the financial systems of the world and started investing. He became a guru in the space, helping others reach financial freedom along the way. He then dove into the cryptic world of crypto, and with smart investing, retired before the age of 30! Seeing the struggles that financial strain had on others, he decided to start Muunifi, a social platform that helps fellow investors connect with others and learn strategies that will help them achieve their financial goals. Taylor is just a super rad dude. Full of passion and super stoked to help others succeed. It was so great chatting with him and we’re excited to see his platform launch and take the world by storm. Perhaps even a financial storm. Hopefully not.

Bryan Rowland is one of my favorites. We have been buddies for about 7 years or so now, and it’s incredible to see where his journey has taken him. In 2008, after being laid off and not knowing how to support his family, he picked up a Canon 5d Mark 2 and hit the pavement. Calling everyone he knew, he ended up doing a campaign that taught him the power of telling stories. I won’t spoil it for you on how he got there, but he is now working side by side with Ryan Reynolds, shooting, directing, and editing all of his commercials. It’s been such a wild ride, and although he doesn’t fully know where he is transitioning to next, there are some big things in the works. This podcast has been a long time coming and I’m super excited to share this with you all. Enjoy!

Being an epic financial guru, he has now come up with an incredible app to teach kids how to have the proper mindset to become financial gurus themselves. Does life just magically work out for those that have a plethora of gratitude in their heart? Raquel's life certainly seems to indicate that. Growing up in Iowa, with very limited financial resources, Raquel set out to follow her dreams of being an epic dancer at a young age. Her dad supported her incredible dreams and she started teaching at a studio at age 14. She moved to NYC, worked on some amazing plays, became a Knicks dancer, and has had an incredible amazing life. She credits all of her blessings to her relationship with God, and showers Him with praise wherever she goes. Despite challenges she has faced, she has an incredibly positive outlook on life. And things just seem to magically go well for her. When things don't work out, she has ability to let them go and look forward to the next amazing thing. This attitude of constantly being able to let things go while moving forward has helped her to achieve so many amazing things in life. She is currently at Chamber Media, producing and directing hilarious commercials. Her joy is completely infectious and it's been such a blast getting to know her more and jamming out with her on this podcast. Enjoy!
Ahh the bond Chris and I have shared have extended past the beginning of time. Growing up with his family, I remembered Chris as a tiny guy. When I was 18, he was 8. I remembered spinning him around while he was in his batman pajamas. We have often thought about recreating those memories. But through the years, as Chris has found his voice as a performer, we found our paths were more aligned than ever. Being in LA around the same time, we would hang and share all kinds of war stories from the entertainment industry.
This podcast was extra special as we got to relive old memories, talk about feelings of anxiety, and how he decided to become a musician himself. And man, his music is so so rad! Nicole Tanner founded Swig, the original soda shop, that she started in 2010 in St. George, Utah.
Growing up on a dairy farm, Nicole was blessed with the gift of hard work. This gift translated well into the way she has created and grown her business. Another of the foundational pillars that support Swig is the strong sense of culture. Nicole mentions that what they do at Swig is more than just selling drinks and treats, they are aiming to provide the best part of their customers' day.
On top of trying to create the best experience for their customers, Nicole also has one of the most incredible initiatives called "Save The Cups", to help raise money for women fighting breast cancer. Being a breast cancer survivor herself, Nicole wanted to help other women on a personal, individual level by taking care of their inevitable medical bills that accompany their life saving procedures. This is an ongoing initiative, so go check it out, every bit helps!

Kim Whatcott, a BYU graduate, is a speech pathologist who is, quite literally, helping people find their voice. She has worked with medical patients who have sustained brain injuries, among other situations, learn to use their voices again or find another form of communication.
Going into the profession, she felt inadequate in many ways. People always expect the professionals to have all the answers. She felt like people always expect the professionals to have all the answers. Starting out in any field you're going to feel inadequate, guaranteed. It's important to remember that no one is a master at anything when they first start.
One of the many things that stands out to us about Kim is that she is full of LIFE! Her advice? Do things that scare you every day.

Bryan Clayton shared with us several solid tips that led to his massive and ongoing success with GreenPal.
Before starting GreenPal Bryan Clayton founded Peachtree Inc. one of the largest landscaping companies in the state of Tennessee growing it to over $10 million a year in annual revenue.
GreenPal, being called the "Uber for lawn care" by Entrepreneur magazine, is an awesome mobile app that helps homeowners connect with the right lawn care professional nearest to them. So not only are homeowners getting easier access to people that can help them with their yards, but lawn care businesses are also benefiting greatly from this app with increased business!
One of the great tips Bryan shared in this episode was to "celebrate the small things". In the beginning stages of the app, he set a goal with his team to make 100 sales in a week to prove to themselves that growing the business was not only possible, but realistic. When they reached that goal, they went crazy with the celebration as if they had just won a Nobel Prize. They have since grown the business so much larger and GreenPal now has over 300,000 active users!

Founder of The Phoenix Recovery Center, Jake Shoff has seen his fair share of lemons in his lifetime. He told us about how his current pursuits and goals to bless people's lives have all stemmed from the tragic loss of Josh, one of his closest college friends, to an addiction and mental health issues.
After our Lemonade Stand team recently just finished reading "Personality Isn't Permanent" by Benjamin Hardy, this conversation with Jake was perfectly timed. He is a prime example of what we learned in Benjamin's book --> your past doesn't happen TO you, but rather your past happens FOR you.

Russ Warner is a genuine guy. Growing up with divorced parents, he developed a great work ethic. In fact, it was too great. He was addicted to work, sometimes working several jobs and insane hours.
This addiction wasn't all bad, it definitely provided for the family, but at what cost?
Time. Precious time.
It was an absolute pleasure to have Russ Warner in the studio with us. The greatest lesson we learned from our conversation with him is how valuable our time is here. Spend it wisely and with the people you love!

For over 30 years the Bonner family has been singing together. We had the privilege of speaking with two of them in our studio!
Yahosh and Oba are two brothers in the famous Bonner family. If you haven't heard them sing before, you need to stop what you are doing right now, go to their Youtube channel or Spotify channel, and let their angelic voices sweep over you for a couple minutes.
The bond that Yahosh and Oba share as brothers is almost tangible it's so strong. The stories they shared about their family leads us to believe that the same goes for the whole family.

What happens when that call comes to you? You know, that calling in life? The one that keeps you up at night. The one that keeps persisting till you have to step up to the plate. This is exactly what happened to Darin, when he realized that his successful law practice just wasn't fulfilling enough. He had known about the importance of bringing clean water to the world, but little did he know the impact building toilets would be in third world countries. Starting in India, he saw the incredible benefits having toilets made in rural areas. What we take for granted, others seek for their survival. Ah words can't describe how much I love these two. I met Marshall when he was the director of the Utah Film Commission. He visited the set of Abandoned Mine. There, in those dark corridors of a mine, we found a budding friendship that brought so much light in such a dark period of my life, physically speaking of course. And sweet Michelle was my publicist while working on the project. These two have been such a force for good in the film industry here in UT. Seriously all that know them speak high praises. On today's podcast, we chatted about the adventure of acquiring a film festival, helping further the Industry in UT, and combatting with all the health issues Marshall has dealt with. Ah I can't say enough about these two gents! They are truly hilarious and some of the most genuine and down to earth people you will ever meet. If you are familiar with movies like Singles Ward or Best Two Years, you are familiar with their work. They both shepherded a whole new kind of cinema, serving a community with laughs and thought provoking messages. Dave and Daryn further went on to become partners and create Flinch, an Ad agency focused on creating amazing spots. I have been privileged to work with them as an actor on several of their projects including their awesome UCCU campaign and the hilarious film, "We love you, Sally CarMichael." Dave and Daryn are currently working on their newest feature film, Pizarro, which highlights certain church history's thespians coming together to put on a play, to help raise funds for the new religion. The true story of the beginnings of Mormon theater, that people know absolutely nothing about. It was a blast talking to these two about life, their philosophies of routines to bring about joy, and the benefit of mindfulness. So much fun and creative energy in one room. Enjoy!

Ah man. Jono and Alan. Such a privilege chatting with these two. I have known Jono (Jonathan) for 2 decades and Alan almost around the same time. We have had so many memories together, making movies, hanging out, rooming at BYU together; it was a total blast. In 2020 Jono and Alan created the popular YouTube channel Cinema Therapy and it skyrocketed in a way they never thought possible. Their incredible wit and insight have turned the channel into a smashing success, while helping hundreds of thousands of people find healing. When mental health issues were at an all time high, Cinema Therapy brought a lot of humor and gladness into people's hearts. With Jono as the clinical therapist and Alan as the avid filmmaker, the two combined forces to create a beautiful empire. It's awesome to see them do their thing and I couldn't be more proud of some of my best friends having success like this. Growing up in Hawaii, Alan learned very quickly that paradise didn't come cheap. Alan and his family always had a survival mentality. They made ends meet, but just barely. Sarath. Sweet Sarath. How I love this guy. As you can tell from last names, Sarath and I are brothers. I'm 5 years older, and we have been blessed to have a great relationship our whole lives. Sarath and I were raised by the same parents but have lived two very different lives. Our paths are finally crossing after years of being on two different journeys. While my life consisted of being obedient to parents because of fear, Sarath rebelled. He hated authority. He hated restrictions. He wanted to create his own rules. He admits that oftentimes this led to disaster. Sarath got involved in drugs over a decade ago and that ruined his life for a very long time. He talked about his suffering and everything he did to survive. Sarath finally saw he wanted a desperate change in his life and went to treatment centers for help. He is now a completely changed man, being 4 years clean. He has incredible light in his life and loves to help people anywhere he can. He is very articulate and intelligent in his thoughts and wants to share his light. Although I knew a glimpse of his story, on the podcast we dove deep and I got to hear so many details of his life. Nicholas has a massive zest for life. A believer of God from an early age, he always desired to do His will. He as led to be a traveling youth pastor, working sometimes 12-14 hours a day. He loved his mission and felt God’s love pouring in him. Then when the rug was pulled out underneath him and couldn’t keep traveling due to the decisions of others, he decided to spread the work of God in a different direction. He started to work on his first screenplay. In 4 years of time of being in the film industry, he has put together a script that has drawn the attention of some Hollywood bigwigs. He is now set to help produce and star in what will hopefully become an action epic filled with Christian theology and values. Ganel-Lyn doesn't shy away from her spiritual faith, because it is at the root of who she is. And she is an absolute delight to be around. She is filled with so much knowledge and was dropping truth bombs after truth bombs. We had such a fun time discussing the things that truly bring us joy and lift us out of despair. When Ganel-Lyn lost her sister to death by suicide, she felt the lowest of the lows. Getting out of that was no easy task, but in the process, really came to know her Maker. Robert Payne has the unusual super power of being almost unrealistically optimistic. Forget about the fact that after taking the vaccination, he had an unusual reaction that left him with Bells Palsy for the last 4 months. He still remains as optimistic and cheerful as ever. He said he has always seen the world as bright. There was no real turning point that made him have a different perspective on life. It was as if he was born to see the light in all things. He chose to be a bankruptcy lawyer because he really felt he could lift people up. And what a ride it has been for him. He deals with people who are at the lowest of their lows every single day. So many people dealing with such emotional and mental stress. He is happy to help them start over and reset. I asked him if ever gets bogged down by it all, and he simply replied "No." He loves doing what he does. This type of outlook is incredibly refreshing in a world filled with negativity and hate. Although Brandon and I haven't known each other for a long time, I feel like we have become brothers from another mother. We met just over a month ago and learned that we felt so aligned in so many different ways. And as I got to know him more, I sensed that he has one of the purest hearts of the people I know. He just wants to do good. He always had a vivid imagination and figured out a way to turn his imagination in a very successful career as an author. His story of "The Other End of the Hippo" and "FableHaven" are just incredible. Today we chatted about his journey becoming an author, from writing books that no one ever wanted to publish to selling over 2 million books worldwide and creating experiences that people can latch on to. As an avid reader, I have been such a fan of his works so it was really a privilege to chat with him about the things that mean most to him. His 5th book in the Dragon Watch series comes out October 26th and concludes the Kendra and Seth story that he penned back in 2006. Will Beck is an extraordinary human being. And this was a very extraordinary podcast. Normally I chat extensively with my guests regarding their line of work, how they got here, etc. But Will went through a very horrific incident that he opened up to me about. In 1999, the world was shocked to hear about a public school shooting at Colombine High school in Littleton, CO. It was unheard of and terrifying. Will was a sophmore in Colombine HS at the time and went through the ordeal. From seeing people get shot to barely making it out himself, Will has a fresh perspective of hope from the entire incident. Senseless tragedies like this help us very quickly see what is most important in life. Grateful Will was able to come and share his story.

The year was 1998, and football season was well underway. Timpview and Highland were neck and neck. This was unheard of. Clearly, Timpview was the underdog. And yet the score was super close. Timpview 41, Highland 40. In the last few seconds of the game, while the Highland QB threw what was going to be the winning touchdown, their moment of undying glory, little Maclain Nelson stepped up and intercepted it! Timpview won!! They beat Highland! Oh man, those were the glory days, and Maclain loves it when I tell that story, which is why I shared it publicly on this podcast! But for reals, Maclain and my history go back to good old 9th grade. And amidst all the sports practices, Mac found a love of filmmaking. Back then it was little videos for High school assemblies. This evolved into feature film directing. After a myriad of projects, Maclain wrote and directed "Once I was a Beehive." It slowly but surely captured some die hard fans. Years later he created the spinoff stand alone feature "Once I was Engaged" which is currently in theaters. Mac worked his magic again and created a fun and memorable world in this Rom Com that teaches incredible lessons about truly following your heart when making life changing decisions. If you grew up watching LDS movies like Singles Ward, RM, and Mobsters and Mormon, you will have heard of John Moyer's name. John wrote those movies and directed Mobsters and Mormon as well. But John as led a very eclectic and cool life. In addition to writing and directing, John also spent years as a stand up comedian. He noticed however that audience members started to dwindle but showed up in groves whenever a stage hypnotist showed up. He then pivoted and declared that he was going to be a stage hypnotist. He did so, and crushed it. But along the way, John started to learn about the true power of the mind. Especially when he attempted suicide. He realized the depression he suffered came from the stories his mind was creating. Understanding this from a new point of view, he started to learn how the mind could be rewired, and as a result, experience a different kind of life. He became a certified hypnotist, meaning one who could actually help people through hypnotherapy. He created a youtube channel that exploded and has helped many, many people around the world. One of John's mantras is "Circumstances don't matter, only your state of being does." Grounding himself in a positive state of being, he started to watch as rough circumstances in his life faded away and positive experiences came into his life. He is now married to the woman not of his dreams because he couldn't even dream of her being that amazing and wonderful. He is continuing to make a positive impact wherever he goes. In 2020, two friends hid $5,000 dollars in the mountains of Utah, leaving cryptic clues to lead locals on an epic four-day treasure hunt. The motivation behind the hunt? Simply to get people outside and having fun after months of COVID pandemic quarantine.

It wasn't until he married that his facade started to crumble. He had to come to terms with himself, realizing how much his false image of himself really cost him. Seeking help, he and his wife learned to budget together. After learning some consistent principles, he and his wife Mikayla started to see the incredible benefit of helping others change their mindset towards money as well. This has now become his passion. Levi has a fascinating story. Because of his vulnerability. By all measure, Levi is a successful entrepreneur. He has founded various businesses, scaled and hired employees, and put a dent in the world. But due to various drama in business, Levi experienced severe burnout. He had panic attacks, an overactive mind, inability to stay present, etc. After some inner battles, his wife declared that she just wanted her husband back. That hit him like a ton of bricks. He recognized that the worldly success he was chasing just didn't matter. He openly started discussing his burn out on social media platforms, and truthfully, got flack from other entrepreneurs. But he kept being vulnerable and open. He learned how important mental health was for well being. Levi continues to do business, but is very mindful about how much he tries to take on. Ah truly Bret Engemann is one of the good guys. He was the charming and handsome guy at Timpview High School. Athletics ran in his blood. After graduating from high school, Bret went on to play football at BYU and also the Raiders. But as we started diving deep into this podcast, I discovered a lot of things about my old friend. For one, life threw him many, many curve balls. Things did not go according to plan. Bret had to step into the dark many times in his life. And through it all, he learned and grew even more. Can a frugal mindset be an abundant one? Jordan and Bubba Page declare that it absolutely is. While raising their family and having minimal finances, Jordan came up with really creative ways to live within their means while raising a family. What did the fig tree moment represent for all of us? If you have no idea what I’m talking about, then you my friends are sadly missing out on a transformational experience. In season 2 episode 2 of the Chosen, the future apostle Nathanael was sitting as a broken man, his entire dream for his life now in absolute ruins. Austin, who plays Nathanael, chatted with me over an hour about his life and the circumstances that landed him on the Chosen. We talked about the nature of the world and how that moment represented so much of the brokenness the world feels and how we can build ourselves back up again. I don’t know if either of us planned on discussing some of the heavy subjects we discussed, but man was it awesome. Have you all ever heard of the 4 quadrants of high trust? Well I certainly haven’t until yesterday, when I chatted with Hank about some of his amazing research. I won’t spoil them for you here, but Hank identified 4 points that went properly applied, can increase trust in others. Powerful, powerful stuff. Hank is a genius like that. He loves to serve people and better humanity. With this at his core, he has turned into a successful coach, motivational speaker, author, husband, father, and overall rad human being. He has definitely become quite popular in LDS circles, inspiring many with his messages of hope and God’s love. Over the last 6 months, Hank has faced his share of heaviness and trials, but was very open and friendly talking about his challenges. Giavani is truly one of the most humble and positive people I know. In an industry filled with ego, Giavani has none of it. From my day on set, Giavani made me feel so at home with everyone. His connection was genuine because that’s just who he is. Even a few days later, when the cast was getting together for fun, Giavani sent me a text asking if I wanted to join. Giavani’s credits his ability to love from his mom, who always supported him and believed in him. Life hasn’t been easy for him. Never really knowing his biological father, his step dad was the world to him. Believed him, encouraged him, etc. But after he passed away, Giavani lost a lot of confidence in himself. In our podcast, we talked a lot about how he went about regaining a lot of his confidence back through acting. I don’t think there are words in any of the World’s languages that can adequately describe how charming and amazing Yasmine is. Maybe Latin or Adamic, but I don’t think those languages are spoken anymore. Yasmine truly is an incredible person with an incredible heart and she is so captivating to watch on the Chosen. She plays Thomas’s possible girlfriend, possible wife, still not sure yet. And she does an incredible job keeping things grounded and relatable. We chatted about her role on the show but more specifically about the subscribing to the philosophy of miracles in life. We talked about signs that would happen in our lives and how circumstances sometimes feel so divinely orchestrated leading us to magical moments. We also discussed how openness and space is what is needed to center yourself back in life. Jordan truly is a legend. He has had the courage and ability to take a perceived weakness and turn it into a massive strength in his life. Being born with many health issues including cerebral palsy, Jordan felt the shame that came from being bullied in High School. Growing up shy, he had discovered that being on stage made him feel very, very alive. But that passion for acting often led him to facing insecurities because of his limp. He found that casting directors would look down at his feet whenever he walked in the room. This made him feel quite insecure as he journeyed through life. Then, when the Chosen miraculously came in his life, director Dallas Jenkins, had the foresight to use his illness to bring great depth and power to his character. Now Jordan hopes to inspire people everywhere that you can use whatever perceived insecurity you have and turn it into a force for good. In addition to being on the Chosen, Jordan is currently looking for opportunities to go speak to youth about the dangers of bullying and how to be a force for good in the world. Rick Macy is not a force to be reckoned with. Truly a man of God, he has been led his whole life to shine his light into the world. As a man who grew up obsessing over 3 things (cars, sports, and women ha) acting was the furthest thing from his heart. But even as a sophmore in high school, when his uncle who served in WW2 asked him what he was going to do with his life, Rick had absolutely no idea. He didn't play baseball professionally and was at a bit of a loss where to go. On a whim, while at BYU, he decided to give acting a shot. He was terrified to perform on stage, but kept pushing himself to face his fears. Still unsure if this was to be his profession, he turned to his faith and asked God if this is what he was meant to do. He knew raising a family would be tough as an actor. Yet he asked anyway. After a profound spiritual experience, Rick used his acting talents to share his love of God with the world, and we are all better for it! Rick has been in some amazing productions for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and his performances have literally healed people. Rick remains very humble and has inspired thousands of students to build their solid foundation before they commit to acting. And I was honored to be one of those students. Enjoy!!
Brad and Melissa Johnson are an epic couple. Together they have created many film projects and are constantly trying to better the world. Currently the three of us are partners in a kids show called Let's Get Epic!, where our characters use the power of "Epic Mode" or the power that is inherently within them to face their challenges. The show is all about helping kids learn that they have incredible self-worth and power. This has been a project the three of us have worked on for a few years and now is being launched on Angel Studios. We originally met on a film set of her music video, where I played the part of a very, very irate customer that took all my grievances on poor Madilyn. She is in the process of releasing single after single, one every month. And her song touches the soul. She has so much passion and love, and wants others to come alive. Words cannot describe the love I have for my brother Corbin Allred. We've known each other for half of our lives now. No, he’s not the father of happiness. But I would definitely say Andy is a cousin or a relative of it. After working selling products for a company online and learning about their mission to bring out the science of happiness, Andy went on a personal mission to discover the truths behind happiness.
His journey took him to studying positive psychology, and he learned that happiness is really a skillset. One that can be learned. If certain principles were applied, one could be happy. He’s studied some of the world's leading experts on happiness, flow, empathy, connection, human flourishing, etc. Now he has a powerful message to share and is currently the CMO of the Cook Center, whose mission it is to help children find happiness in their own lives and see that they have lives of incredible value.

I’ve been privileged to know Hugh Vail for several years now, but the memories and conversations we’ve shared have lasted a lifetime. He has been a good friend to me and has helped me through my own challenges in life.
Hugh is a man of virtue in every sense of the word. He lives it, breathes it, and shares it with all around him. Studying the principles of virtue, Hugh created the Clapham Foundation in order to help people live more excellently and bring others to their true potential. As a part of this foundation, Hugh also created Mustang Medicine. He has helped many experience deep emotional, mental, and spiritual healing by lying with mustangs as they submit to Hugh. It has been an incredible process to watch.

Sweet sweet Chelsie Hightower. Easily one of the most chill, grounded, and positive people you'll ever meet. And a super amazing dancer. So much so that she spent 8 seasons on Dancing with the Stars as well as multiple seasons on So You Think You Can Dance.
She's worked with amazing people that are at the top of their game, while maintaining her humility and groundedness. Despite seeing all these successes, Chelsie was very open with me about feeling inadequate to be on the show. She felt a lot of anxiety through the process, but used it as fuel to perform to the best of her abilities.
Finally after years of personal growth and development, she realized that everyone had their inadequacies and were all "faking it till they made it." Learning these valuable lessons, she's creating multiple dance programs teaching young girls that you don't have to place your value on any external award from dancing.

OK, seriously, James is a true visionary in every sense of the word. As a kid, he loved taking things apart to see how they worked, and now he creates massive VR experiences that transport people to a different reality altogether. James created The VOID, which is beyond typical VR. Allowing more of your senses to come into play, people put the headset on and are able to walk around, see, smell, hear, and touch a different world. This experience was so mesmerizing that Disney licensed the IP from them. Harrison Ford went in as Harrison Ford and came back out as a kid again. That’s why James keeps creating. He loves to see the joy on people’s faces when they experience the worlds that he’s created. Using his knowledge from The VOID, he created JUMP, which allows people to put the headset on and BASE jump off a mountain with a wing suit! And it feels exceptionally real. The feeling of free-falling, the wind in your face, the smell of the air—it’s all there, while you are completely safe in a virtual world. Jay Davis is a rad human being. We met when I was working on a commercial for a shoe company. His agency, Creatably, was producing the spot. We looked at each other and instantly knew we were meant to be BFFs. Jay is one of the most easy-going and talented people I know. His philosophy of just going for it and keeping low expectations has led to him to some amazing people. After a series of video projects went incredibly successfully, Jay found passion in creating and exploding businesses. He founded Creatably as way to help new start-ups get a solid footing in their space. After his ad campaigns went viral for his clients, he decided to create his own product, Pillow Cube, and introduce it to billions of side sleepers around the world. Turns out people like to sleep, and rolling the dice on his cube worked. When Jeff weighed the options of becoming a full time entrepreneur or working for the man, he initially felt he was at a crossroads. Back in the 80s after finishing his degree and learning all about entrepreneurship, he quickly learned that to become one was living life on the fringe. The risks were very high and he didn't know if it would grant him all the time freedom he sought for. On the other hand, the corporate path working for the man, may keep him trapped at a certain pace as well. Weighing his options, he thought, "what if I could take the path down the middle?" Bringing the spirit of entrepreneurship in the corporate space ended up being the exact right move for him. He excelled quickly and he couldn't get bonuses and raises fast enough. He found the flexibility he desired while working in corporate America. He also started seeing the benefit of peer to peer coaching, which traditionally was not presented in work. He realized that creating teams that allowed for people to coach one another was great disruption within the coaching industry. Thus, Zero to Ten was born. Years later, after finding himself at a crossroads in LA when his acting career came to a halt, his friend invited him to interview for a sales position for the LA Clippers. Rob got the job and completely failed at it. Couldn't land a single sale. Feeling dejected, he came home to his wife who suggested that he stick it out for one more week. The season was about to start and he should at least watch a game. That next week proved to be as lousy as his previous weeks, but while at the game, everything changed. At the game he saw many people enjoying themselves, regardless if the Clippers won or lost. He realized that he had been looking at sales completely wrong. Instead of focusing solely on the product, he realized that if he could focus on the results of the product, he may prove successful. Excited and motivated, he put his theory to the test and in one month went from being the lowest selling salesperson to the highest selling salesperson. When Coach Matt Labrum got a whiff of the sluffing, the poor grades, and the cyberbullying, he knew he had to take action. Through a bit of investigation, he learned that football players from his team were responsible for these actions and knew that he needed to teach a lesson about accountability. After a series of discussions with members of faculty, assistant coaches, etc, he decided to suspend his entire football team for a season. Word got out. After a few local news stations interviewed him for his decision, he received a call from Anderson Cooper on CNN. The story went worldwide, praising the coach for his actions. Coach Labrum however remained very humble and shared that he didn't want this to be about him. He wanted the students to know that poor decisions won't go without their consequences. Coach Labrum sat with me for a bit and chatted about his personal philosophy and what we can do during these times of struggles brought on by unprecedented circumstances. Enjoy!
If ever a power couple existed on this planet, Jeff and Nicole Thompson would be the face of it. They are incredible! After starting a gratitude journal and writing daily, Nicole felt complete inspiration to start a children's clothing line. This inspiration led her to spend all of their savings on fabric. Fast forward to years later, he started Pacific Capital, a firm in So Cal specifically focused on helping entrepreneurs and families with financial decisions. He further went on with a group of people to create the Draft Sports Complex, a 75,000 sq ft arena used for basketball, volleyball, cheerleading, and stunts tournaments. And then Covid hit. And with that blow, when all games were suddenly cancelled, after sleepless nights, they've turned the facility into a charter school for kids whose parents are essential workers. Under the guidance of excellent coaches, he went from playing quarterback at Skyline HS, BYU, and ultimately, the 49ers. He is very humble about his success and credits much of his path to God. After leaving the world of coaching football, Brandon pivoted to spend more time with his family and is now the CEO of Weigh Safe, a company that invented one of the most innovative trailer hitches in the world.
