Today we begin the article that is at the heart of the Reformation: Justification. How are we declared righteous? How do we receive the forgiveness of sins and eternal life?
Today we'll move into the second article, on original sin and we'll see how the adversaries changed the definition when they approved this article.
Here we begin the Apology of the Augsburg Confession with a little background information and then the first article.
Today we make it to the final article of the AC and talk about the authority of the Church.
We continue the discussion of monastic vows from article XXVII and ask, what do Lutherans not have monastic vows?
An article on distinguishing between meats! Or, rather, what do we do with traditions? How should we treat church traditions that are contrary to the Gospel, and how about those that are useful for good order?
We continue on with the articles in dispute, this time returning to the topic of confession. Why do we retain confession in the Lutheran Church?
We'll spend the whole time today talking about the marriage of priests. Marriage was denied to priests beginning in the middle ages, but the witness of Scripture and the early church is that priests were married.
Here we get into some good stuff. We finish up the first chunk of the AC, articles that have been confessed with the entire Church catholic and start on abuses that have been corrected by the Lutherans, such as receiving the Sacrament in both kinds.
