Repentance is an essential aspect of the gospel. Repentance was Jesus's first sermon. It was Peter's first sermon. And yet, we don't hear much about repentance these days. But the Bible tells us that when we practice repentance refreshing comes. This deep dive into repentance will give you a greater appreciation for repentance and the blessing it really is.

This is having an impact on the Christian Church and its values of absolute truth and morality. Because of this, it’s time to consider what it means to reconstruct according to God’s words and ways rather than the world’s.

Solomon said in Proverbs 27:17, "Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another." In a world where relational poverty is more pervasive than ever, Solomon's wisdom is more needed than ever. God desires for us and designed us to live in friendship with other believers. Examining the sharpening process of iron shows us what it takes to have real and meaningful friendships with other believers.

In this series, we’ll be reclaiming the word “calling.” It’s not just what we’re good at, or what we choose to do. Calling is a sacred word that speaks to our innermost beings. As we go through this two-week series, we’ll be reminded that calling isn’t as much about “what” as it is “who.” In order to discover God’s true calling on our lives, we need to focus less on what we’re doing and more on what we’re becoming: fully devoted followers of Christ.

Gratitude and thankfulness have been researched in the world and have been shown as good for the body and mind. But it’s time for the Church to rise up as the original experts on gratitude. And after a difficult year for everyone, the question we all need to ask ourselves is, Are you still grateful?
Reflection Questions: * Where have I been entitled and how can I replace that with gratitude? * In what areas of my life am I struggling to express gratitude and what is one thing I can do to shift my gaze? * Are there any areas of my life left unguarded and how can I move towards being guarded IN Christ? * How can I be someone that those around me are grateful for?

Biblical hope involves the rock solid truth that God is in control of the universe, and He is just and capable to usher everything under submission to His authority. Every wrong will be righted. Every tear will be wiped away. Justice, in the coming kingdom, will prevail. All of this comes because of Jesus, His death on the cross for our sins, and His amazing resurrection. He will come again, and He will make all things right and good. That’s the basis for true biblical hope.

What we learn from Daniel’s story as well as other people’s stories in the Bible is that if we want to not just survive but thrive in Babylon, our faith needs to be tested. But through that testing, we will experience greater growth in our faith in God and also incredible favor from God.

Pastor Kai not only introduced us to Daniel, but he also detailed just how awful and deranged Babylon was, something that would make even our society blush. In the midst of this difficult place, Daniel didn’t merely survive, he thrived. Part of his secret was knowing God was in control, even when Israel’s enemies appeared to have won, and when the Lord is behind everything, it changes everything.

We just might see the world changed. By giving $10 a month to Convoy of Hope's FeedOne, you can feed one child for an entire month and open the doors to sharing the gospel of Jesus with them.

Do you know where you sit? God wants us to sit close to Him. He's saved us seats and they have our names on them. In your relationships, your family, and even in your heart, where you sit might matter more than you realize. If you want to land in the right spots, you're going to need to Watch Where You Sit.
