JOACHIM SPIETH
Joachim Spieth is a German DJ, music producer and label owner who emerged musically in the late nineties and has since developed a multi-faceted spectrum of sound between the poles of ambient and spherical techno. Characteristic for his work is the attention to detail and a sensitive sensorium for the creation of atmospheres, which one can hardly escape, no matter if this takes place in his studio work or in his performances.
After several years of intensive collaboration with Wolfgang Voigt’s Kompakt imprint, he founded his own label, Affin, in 2007, which has been constantly developing ever since and has made a name for itself internationally. Besides quite a few EP’s and collaborations, he has released a number of albums in the past years such as Irradiance, Tides, Ousia, Terrain as well as the recently released Reshape projekt, which features variations of his music tracks by Alva Noto, ASC, bvdub and others. In addition to the albums, the Textures Sound Library series was created, which impressively document Spieth’s musical development. As a DJ, Joachim Spieth has been performing in more than 30 countries all over the world. He’s driven by an absolute devotion to music and his pleasure to share it.

This sound library is the third part of my "Textures" series, which was created in the first half of 2022. In terms of sound, the edition offers comprehensive and richly layered soundscapes and wavelike harmonic surfaces that move expressively between the poles. All included sounds were produced for this sound library and have not been used on any of my releases before.

Seasons is the result of a grant I worked on in the second half of 2021. Thematically, the EP deals with the translation of nature sounds and sensory impressions that I collected in countless walks in a nearby forest. As part of this scholarship, I have created two works that seasonally outline the rising as well as falling seasons. An important aspect of this was to use field recordings that I captured during these walks, but not to use them as sound collage in the classical sense. These recordings went through various digital signal paths so that they blurred with synthesized sounds, resulting in an independent sonic aesthetic. To finish this work I have commissioned a 10" which will be released in early 2022 in an extremely limited edition in my Bandcamp shop. All vinyl EPs were handmade in real time, one by one (lathe cut). This results in a relatively high selling price.

I recently completed the second sound library in my "Textures" series. This one acts as an acoustic canvas and prepares an interesting sound rich base to design different acoustic projections. All of the included sounds I created specifically for this sound pack and have not appeared or been used anywhere else.

"Textures” is a sound library that I've created during Winter 2021. It is a carefully selected collection of cinematic and evolving sounds that can be easily incorporated into your work, but they are primarily intended as a starting point for your own creative process like a painter's palette of colors. All included sounds were produced for this sound library and have not been used on any of my releases before.
