In today's podcast, I'm talking about Gamstop, the new national self-exclusion scheme in the UK.

The programme is covering all gambling sites, including casino, bingo, lottery, betting and poker. Self-excluding is free, and it's effective as most UK casinos are members.

When blocking yourself from gambling websites you can choose a period that suits your needs. At this time, 6 months up to 5 years is the time span available.

However, some casinos are not on Gamstop, Casinomir reports. These sites are mainly off-shore companies that are licenced in other jurisdictions. This means they do not hold a UK Gambling Commission licence. It also means that the winnings from those sites are not tax-free.

At this time iGaming sites do not have to join Gamban, but the UKGC has made it clear that in the future it will be compulsory to join.

Today we also talk about:

  1. The future of UK internet casinos.
  2. How effective is Gamstop to block casinos?
  3. The increase in tax for UK casino operators.
  4. Should so-called "loot boxes" be legal?
  5. Will the gaming industry follow the pattern of the poker industry?
  6. What are the most popular slot machines of all time?
  7. What's the biggest online jackpot ever won?

All this and more in today's podcast. I hope you will enjoy and remember to comment!
