Three times each week, Big Daddy Donald Roberts brings you GOLDEN OLDIES from the studios of DonsPodRadio. Listen to some of the greatest music of all time with emphasis on the '60's and '70's.
From RADIO ACTION Rock and Talk, Al Murphy visits on the 20's with RETROSPECTIVE - a 20/20 look back on issues of interest to Al, and hopefully you as well. Al also returns later in the program with SPORT DE JOUR - a look at everything "sport."
Michael Godin from Treasure Island Oldies stops by at the top of the hour with ROCK AND ROLL NEWS and James Murphy, all the way from Cambridge England, provides listeners with spectacular "choons" during his MISSING IN ACTION segment heard at the 25 minute mark of the first hour of the show.
Yours truly, Big Daddy fills in all the gaps with light banter and awesome music.
Radio Action - MEMORY MUSIC is a program of mostly music that will keep you rocking and rolling - a fast paced two hours of some of the greatest hits of all time.
And Radio Action - Sound Track of the Sixties looks at that incredible decade of music, featuring all the hits of my youth in a fast moving hour (plus) of survey countdowns. It is a blast!

This is the last program from Radio Action for a while. Yes, every year at this time, Al, James, Michael and I take some hard earned and well deserved time off. This little hobby is very demanding and the only way to remain fresh and excited about the work we do is to unwind and take some time away!

Friends: Here is the very last Memory Music program for this part of the year.
As the two main summer months are just about upon us, Al and I will be taking a much needed vacation from our very demanding hobby and will spend time relaxing over the summer months with family and friends.
Our intent is to be back, fully refreshed and ready to go once again, late August (dates will be announced mid-August)
Meanwhile, after this program, you will be treated to some of the best of the best from the archives over July and most of August. So, there will be music here - and I know you will enjoy it!

Listening to the Memory Music program is a fun way to pass a couple of hours - either surfing the 'net or downloaded and on your portable player.

RADIO ACTION ROCK AND TALK 415 - (June 9 -15)
Friends: Wow, what a hot day again today. Fortunately I have two things going my way while working in the studio.
First, I try to get the program done in the morning when the air is still reasonably cool and....
Second, I have a ceiling fan operational on days like this - so I do get some movement of air - which is so necessary on really hot days.
We have never experienced this kind of heat wave in June! And if this is a prelude as to what to expect in July and August, I do believe we are in for a long, hot summer!
On the radio, some great hits!

RADIO ACTION MEMORY MUSIC 031 - (June 8-15)
Friends: Over the past few weeks a number of regular, long time listeners have asked me to program some instrumental music.
So this week I have done just that! The first hour, except for the Memory Lane segment with Al, is wall to wall, ten feet tall, instrumentals from a distant past!
Then, as I received a number of requests this past week, we return to music with lyrics in the second hour and look after the requests too.
All in all, a great way to spend a couple of hours - and I do hope you will join us here!

Friends: This program was recorded a couple of days early so I can get some personal business attended to on Thursday and Friday.
What a line-up of talent this week as we count down the top 20 tunes that were on your radio June 17, 1967.
This was the time in my life that I was making enough money to be able to afford the purchase of 45 rpm records, and around this time, I started my collection, which I have to this day.
So, many of the tunes I play could have been lifted right off the original wax.

Last night my wife and I attended a concert at the Rogers Arena - Barry Manilow - and what a show! He can't hit the high notes like he once could, but suffice it to say, with a great band, a good harmony group and a back up choir, he performed admirably.
So, to celebrate this program, some Barry Manilow - and one piece by his warm up artist - Dave Koz.
