Three times each week, Big Daddy Donald Roberts brings you GOLDEN OLDIES from the studios of DonsPodRadio. Listen to some of the greatest music of all time with emphasis on the '60's and '70's.
From RADIO ACTION Rock and Talk, Al Murphy visits on the 20's with RETROSPECTIVE - a 20/20 look back on issues of interest to Al, and hopefully you as well. Al also returns later in the program with SPORT DE JOUR - a look at everything "sport."
Michael Godin from Treasure Island Oldies stops by at the top of the hour with ROCK AND ROLL NEWS and James Murphy, all the way from Cambridge England, provides listeners with spectacular "choons" during his MISSING IN ACTION segment heard at the 25 minute mark of the first hour of the show.
Yours truly, Big Daddy fills in all the gaps with light banter and awesome music.
Radio Action - MEMORY MUSIC is a program of mostly music that will keep you rocking and rolling - a fast paced two hours of some of the greatest hits of all time.
And Radio Action - Sound Track of the Sixties looks at that incredible decade of music, featuring all the hits of my youth in a fast moving hour (plus) of survey countdowns. It is a blast!
Rock on, and on, and on....and thanks for listening..........

This is the show from June 26, 2013 back when we were still using the moniker, CKW.

This is how we sounded two years ago.
Has much changed?

RADIO ACTION SOUNDTRACK OF THE 60'S - 062 - (June 25-15)
Friends: Here is the final Sound Track of the Sixties program until summer vacation is over. We are all taking a well deserved break - and as one gets older, one's breaks get longer.
We will all be back the last week of August - but until then, there is lots on the site to keep you entertained.
This week, a look at the week of August 1, 1964 and the top 20 tunes on our radios, way back then.
I hope you will enjoy this romp through the archives.
We will be back in our respective Radio Action air chairs the week of August 31. Until then, be sun smart and have a wonderful summer.
Rock on
RADIO ACTION ROCK AND TALK 417 - (June 23 -15)
Friends: Welcome to this week's Rock and Talk program from Radio Action and DonsPodRadio. There are some phenomenal tunes in this week's presentation and I know you will enjoy the show - so please do so!
This is the last program from Radio Action for a while. Yes, every year at this time, Al, James, Michael and I take some hard earned and well deserved time off. This little hobby is very demanding and the only way to remain fresh and excited about the work we do is to unwind and take some time away!
So, over the summer months you will get some ARCHIVED PROGRAMMING just to keep you in touch with us, and us with you!
If you are traveling the highways and byways this summer - please drive with care, common sense and courtesy! We all want to be back here in September!
Remember the SPF number that works best for you, and have a wonderful summer.
Thanks for listening.
See you in September!
Cheers for now!
Don.....
RADIO ACTION MEMORY MUSIC 033 - (June 22-15)
Friends: Here is the very last Memory Music program for this part of the year.
As the two main summer months are just about upon us, Al and I will be taking a much needed vacation from our very demanding hobby and will spend time relaxing over the summer months with family and friends.
Our intent is to be back, fully refreshed and ready to go once again, late August (dates will be announced mid-August)
Meanwhile, after this program, you will be treated to some of the best of the best from the archives over July and most of August. So, there will be music here - and I know you will enjoy it!
So join us here for the last show of the season, then drop by from time to time over the summer.
Thanks to everyone for the support we receive - and the email and FB messages too. It is greatly appreciated.
Now, click on the player and enjoy this session of mostly MEMORY MUSIC.
Cheers

RADIO ACTION SOUNDTRACK OF THE 60'S - 061 - (June 17-15)
Friends: Here is the weekly SOUND TRACK OF THE SIXTIES count down show from Radio Action - this week, July 3, 1965.
It was the year I finished high school and two days before my 18th birthday - so this survey has a bit of a special musical memory for me!
I hope you can join me for this hour and a bit of wonderful music from the decade of my youth.
Thanks for listening.
Rock on.....
Don.....

RADIO ACTION MEMORY MUSIC 032 - (June 15-15)
Friends: Today, some real old favourites to play on your device of choice.
Listening to the Memory Music program is a fun way to pass a couple of hours - either surfing the 'net or downloaded and on your portable player.
As they used to say in radio - TAKE US WITH YOU, WE ARE PORTABLE YOU KNOW! Back then the reference was to transistor radios - today it is MP3 players, smart phones and tablets.
Regardless, I do hope you can enjoy the show.
Thanks for listening.
And, just one week left before summer break. We will be off the air all of July and most of August.
Rock on with this week's Memory Music show.
Cheers.
Don.....
RADIO ACTION SOUNDTRACK OF THE 60'S - 060 - (June 12-15)
Friends: From June 22, 1963 the top 20 tunes that were on my radio, and probably on yours too!
Join me for a fast paced romp through the musical archives from the shack out back - the "groove-yard" for some tunes I know you will remember.
One song can bring back one thousand memories - and a couple of them on this week's count down will do just that!
Thanks for making my music a part of your life. It means a lot to all of us here at Radio Action, knowing that you take the time to tune us in!
Keep cool!
Rock on!
Cheers!
Don.....
RADIO ACTION ROCK AND TALK 415 - (June 9 -15)
Friends: Wow, what a hot day again today. Fortunately I have two things going my way while working in the studio.
First, I try to get the program done in the morning when the air is still reasonably cool and....
Second, I have a ceiling fan operational on days like this - so I do get some movement of air - which is so necessary on really hot days.
We have never experienced this kind of heat wave in June! And if this is a prelude as to what to expect in July and August, I do believe we are in for a long, hot summer!
On the radio, some great hits!
You should listen!
And, thanks to a suggestion from long time listener Gerald, a rather different "Goofy Great"
Turn us on and tune us in!
You may be surprised at what you hear.
A little Rock, a little talk.
One song, one thousand memories.
Cheers
Don.....
RADIO ACTION MEMORY MUSIC 031 - (June 8-15)
Friends: Over the past few weeks a number of regular, long time listeners have asked me to program some instrumental music.
So this week I have done just that! The first hour, except for the Memory Lane segment with Al, is wall to wall, ten feet tall, instrumentals from a distant past!
Then, as I received a number of requests this past week, we return to music with lyrics in the second hour and look after the requests too.
All in all, a great way to spend a couple of hours - and I do hope you will join us here!
Remember, programming the shows is so much easier when we can play your requests, so don't be shy - email us today. radioaction@shaw.ca
Thanks for tuning us in and turning us up!
One Song Can Bring Back One Thousand Memories.
Cheers
Don.....
RADIO ACTION SOUNDTRACK OF THE 60'S - 059 - (June 3-15)
Friends: This program was recorded a couple of days early so I can get some personal business attended to on Thursday and Friday.
What a line-up of talent this week as we count down the top 20 tunes that were on your radio June 17, 1967.
This was the time in my life that I was making enough money to be able to afford the purchase of 45 rpm records, and around this time, I started my collection, which I have to this day.
So, many of the tunes I play could have been lifted right off the original wax.
Please join me, Al and James as we, once again, fill the air with the great sound of the 60's - you just might like what you hear.
Thanks for your support.
Rock on!
Don.....

Friends: This week, all the music I play is from the '60's. No, not a count down of hits - just a compilation of great music.
I know you will remember many of these tunes and probably be able to sing along with some of them - which is really what this program is all about.
So, click on our player, turn up the volume, and get ready for two hours chock a block full of the most memorable music you will find on any radio, anywhere.

RADIO ACTION ROCK AND TALK 413 - (May 27 -15)
Friends: Here is this week's Rock and Talk program from your congenial host on the coast - and some special music early into this show.
Last night my wife and I attended a concert at the Rogers Arena - Barry Manilow - and what a show! He can't hit the high notes like he once could, but suffice it to say, with a great band, a good harmony group and a back up choir, he performed admirably.
So, to celebrate this program, some Barry Manilow - and one piece by his warm up artist - Dave Koz.
I think you will like this show - IT MOVES!
Al is here, James is here, Michael is here - and of course, so am I.
So click on the player for some of the best music you will hear anywhere!
Thanks for dropping by.
Rock on.
