Christauff began professionally DJing in 2004. It was all vinyl then, now it's all CDs, laptops and controllers. Times change, DJing evolves. Over the years he's played techno, trance, progressive house, elecro house, deep house and tech house. For the last few years it's been mainly tech house, deep house and bass music.
He ran multiple weekly dance parties for several years in Washington, DC with his crew District Ignition, playing opening sets for Paul van Dyk, BT, Chris Lake, Seb Fontaine, Menno de Jong, Jerome Isma-Ae, Uberzone, Charles Feelgood, Edgar V, Steve Duda (BSOD), Deepchild, and many others.
Christauff loves everything about dance music. He once ran a music conference, worked a couple music venues, and has held hundreds of dance parties and underground warehouse gigs over the years. He takes this "hobby" more than a little seriously--though he keeps his day job.
He thinks he has a career and a life outside of this.
Maybe.

@Christauff kicked off the first two hours of the night for Preview @ MilkBoy ArtHouse on October 10, 2019. The sets starts off soulful and deep, hits some funky and disco house notes, then ricochets around something a little more underground in flavor before a brief discursion into garage, bass and some main room.

Andrew's sets are eclectic and span such a wide array of genres, it's hard to classify him, but his sets are dynamic, melodic and impeccably mixed. Nu-Disco and some bass would probably grab a the most likely style he plays, but we hate overclassifying things--it's always a pleasure to have him on the decks. We hope you enjoy his set.

Ramiro Gill, aka Ramiro / RaveKilla is back! He was among the show'searliest guest DJs for Deeptech.fm Episode 031 back in Feburary 21, 2013. Ramiro is one of my favorite DC area DJs. He can play anything well, but his deeper proggy sets always set him apart for me. As he wrote to the show:
"Back then I had been more involved in the bouncier, more energetic side of tech and tech house. It was a challenge for me [when I asked him for an episode in 2013] that I accepted with much excitement. When I submitted my mix, i could honestly say I was hooked! I will wholeheartedly agree with DeepTechFM's statement about "not really a genre, more a vibe and style."
This couldn't be more true the more and more I play around with the vibe. Its not just a specific genre, or tempo. There is not predetermined format. To really get what i feel the essence of DeepTech, one has to literally let themselves go into the deeper side of music. Listen to the little nuances in a track, let them tickle your ear drums and energize you into a rhythmic trance that you could ride for what seems forever.
In this most recent mix, I included progressive, techno, even a little electronic (not sure what genre to really call it), to create my landscape. I feel this mix will take you through multiple facets of what I feel DEEPTECH is all about.
Thank you Chris for yet again the opportunity to join the DeepTech movement and air my interpretation of it. You keep the momentum going for many others to enjoy and follow!

About DFMO:
Washington DC area native, DFMO (Ben Ogden), is a multi-talented DJ and Producer with interests in numerous genres of dance music including deep, soulful and tech house. Ogden was drawn to dance and electronic music as a kid when he began programming and beat production on an 8-bit Atari 800 computer. Over the years, he amassed a studio of analog synths and recording gear which he has used in the production of rich, deep electronica for numerous personal projects as well as other local artists.
Growing up as a brass player, drummer, and music collector, Ogden’s influences became rooted early in genres such as jazz, reggae, ska and soul. He shared his unique sound by playing drums, guitar and horns in numerous bands in DC and the West Coast throughout the late 90’s and 2000’s. Taking a break from the band dynamic, Ogden moved to Panamá, Central America, where his appreciation for rich, organic sounds and beats would only grow. While his musical style has meandered through minimal, ambient and even experimental, he has always returned to his original love of house music.
Ogden’s keen ear led him to the DJ booth where his passion for deep, soulful dance is apparent in the music he shares on the dance floor each outing. DFMO, the dance floor make out, is about the dynamic between the dance floor, the beat, and you.

I've been a resident for @ElementEventsDC for over a year now. These guys throw some fantastic trance and progressive house parties, and I started supporting them when a good friend of mine, @tavo-muzik, got involved and I wanted to support him and their vision. In the past, very early days of my DJing career, I was a trance and progressive house DJ, and though I don't really play either much anymore, he asked me to start doing opening sets for their shows. I just played a packed U Street Music Hall opening for @Grumm a few weeks back, and I can tell you that these guys really have the good vibes, good people, party thing down to a science. They also have custom built lazers deployed at all of their events and you have to see them to believe it.
This set is an hour. Unlike my show DeepTechFM, I had the luxury to pick tracks that progress through a few different sounds quickly, much more like a typical floor show. I hope you enjoy the show as much as I had pulling it together.
