The Yellow Mic “TYM” is an evening talk show on 729AM Radio Cape Pulpit and is broadcast from 19:00 – 20:00, every Thursday evening.
The Yellow Mic when abbreviated translates to “TYM” pronounced as “time”. TYM is a show with a vision to challenge stereotypes and to create a new narrative for the Christian community. TYM encourages us to disrupt the status quo by creating a platform to discuss topical issues which affect the community, albeit at times we are not provided the opportunity to discuss these societal issues in church buildings. This programme allows for open and honest conversation to take place in the studio.
18.07.2024 - On #TheYellowMic this evening TC spoke to Mr Rob Walker, Event Director at Sasol Solar Challenge and Director for South African Solar Events we discussed sustainability practices, gender diversity and the opportunities students benefit from in Sasol Solar Challenge. There are 14 incredible and innovative teams, half of the participating teams are international, they will be bringing their own diverse range, innovations and perspective to the challenge, while the other half is represents the best of South African talent. These teams are already gearing up to showcase their solar-powered vehicles in this year's challenge.
04.07.2024 - On #TheYellowMic this evening TC spoke to Sonto Pooe founder of NativeChild about her hair journey. It all started at age 8, when she attempted to braid her own hair after a gruesome experience with a hairdresser who plaited her too tight making her unable to sleep for days. Years later, that very experience, coupled with the frustrations of a hair market flooded with chemical-ed products, motivated her to develop a natural hair and body care range she named NativeChild —a representation of who she is: A proud African woman with strong roots. What sets her apart is that she makes the effort to go the extra mile by educating coloured and black women on what is best suited for them individually.

She is a broadcaster and creative entrepreneur with 15 years’ experience in the media and entertainment industries. she is a mother of 5 who is passionate about positive and present parenting and she is the host of a weekly podcast #LifeWithLebang available on all platforms.#LifewithLebang recently received recognition at the 2023 at the 2023 APVA (African Podcaster and Voice Artists) Awards. We took a deep dive into Lebangs journey!
16.06.2022 - Youth Day is SA on t #TheYellowMic TC spoke to Bokang Mabiletsa, CEO at SA Gov Jobs, A recruitment agency that solely focuses on the South African government departments. In light of it being youth day, the discussuion was around how young people can use this recruitment agency to access employment opportunities.

Benice is on a mission to inspire and help address the major challenge of unemployment in South Africa by empowering entrepreneurs and SMME’s. Her company offers flexible HR and Business Solutions, which focuses on exploring funding and grant opportunities from both the public and private sectors.An alumnus of False Bay College’s Centre for Entrepreneurship’s Rapid Incubator Program and Top Tech Tools for Women in Business by the Cape Innovation & Technology Initiative (CiTi), Benice has 15 years of Human Capital experience in the corporate financial services sector. She is also a member of the South African Board of People Practices (SABPP), Women in Business Advisory (WiBA) Allan Gray Orbis Foundation Mentor.
24.06.2021 - Thursday 24 June on the #TheYellowMic we spoke to Thandeka Ngoqo about 'Instilling Leadership qualities to the next generation'. Thandeka is Journalist, PR practitioner, certified project manager and trained facilitator. Most importantly a child of God, Serves at Langa Baptist church as Sunday school teacher (Kingdom kids), Thandeka is also a Teenage leader (Dynamite) and cell leader. She works at Kantar a Marketing and research company as a quality controller and runs her own company (Tenacity Communications) parralel to that.

TC spoke to Madidimalo Mathekga about her book "2020 Dear Diary" which is a compelling story about how she survived drug addiction , a number of sexual assaults which left her feeling unworthy which led to promiscuity... then eventually she found the love of JESUS and realising GOD has a purpose for her life.The traumatic experiences turned into her testimony. This born again 28 year old single mother of 2 from Polokwane, Limpopo Province has established her own NPC called: InTransformation, she is also a Motivational Speaker and Youtuber.

My Shack is a riveting story about growing up on the Cape Flats during the dying days of Apartheid and on the dawn of South Africa’s new democracy. As the nation came of age, so did I. We’ve all had those moments in life where we felt like we could no longer keep going and that the pain and heartache of our past is our lot in life. I am here to tell you that it does not have to be so. My desire is that as you embark on this journey with me, that hope will light the dark areas within your soul and that you will begin to experience the healing, the joy and the fulfilment of all that life has to offer.

Yolisa Molefe is a Professional Accountant (SA), Tax Practitioner and Independent Reviewer who founded SNC-TAX in 2006. She has more than 24years experience in the finance field. She is a mother of two kids and a wife who relies heavily on her family and friend’s support.
28.01.2021 - Edge Development Lab Background: Dineo Seabe is the Director of Edge Development Lab and a Post-Doctoral Economics Research Fellow at the Stellenbosch University. She holds a joint Ph.D. in Economics from Vrije Universiteit Brussels and Stellenbosch University. She also holds a Masters in Social Science Research Methods from Stellenbosch University. Her work experience includes research at the Human Sciences Research Council, Democracy, Governance and Service Delivery unit where she worked on various projects covering topics such as inclusive governance, social cohesion, CSO-government co-production, community advice offices, and violence prevention. She has a passion for people-centered development and her main research interests are the third sector broadly, public and NGO accountability as well as volunteering and public engagement.

Shifrah Jacobsin - : It is estimated that only one in four South Africans suffering from a mental illness or disorder will receive some form of care. This means that the majority of people who require access to mental health care services will not get the help they need. In South Africa, some of the barriers that make it difficult for people to access mental health services include the stigma associated with asking for help, long waiting times at local clinics and the high cost of private support. In this episode, TC speaks to Ntombi Mhangwani, who is the director for Integrated Marketing and Communications, and Women’s Forum lead at Accenture Africa. She joined Accenture in 2015, tasked to build strategic value and deliver personalised, unique marketing as well as communications experiences. She also drives initiatives to attain Accenture’s vision to achieve a 50/50 gender balanced workforce by 2025.She holds a Master of Business Administration from Henley Business School and an Honours Degree in Journalism and Media Studies from Rhodes University. She is also studying toward her Ph.D. in Management with a focus on technology and innovation from The Da Vinci Institute.

16.07.20 This week TC spoke to Michelle Beh, who plays a dual role at The Jupiter Drawing Room in Cape Town where she drives the existing and new business for the agency, as well as developing brand and communications strategies for their clients such as Burger King SA, Lewis Group, Sasko Bread and Flour, Virgin Group, and KWV Wines. Their conversation was about companies re-branding and re-focusing their brands for the "New Normal".
