Mental health check-ins are vital tools that can help you better understand and support your teen during challenging times. By regularly engaging in check-ins with your teen, you can create a safe space for open communication, identify any struggles they may be facing, and provide the necessary support they need.

When I was a teenager, I didn't really think about loving myself. Now, I wish I had known how important it is to take care of myself. My mom and I didn't talk about it much, probably because it can be hard for teens to listen to their parents, and sometimes parents don't always know the best way to talk about it. But I've learned that having a strong and supportive relationship with your mom or parent is really important for learning how to love and take care of yourself.

Looking back, I wish I had understood the importance of having a supportive community when I was a teenager and in my early twenties. It took me until my late 20s to realize just how much I could have learned and how many tough lessons I could have avoided with the help of a strong network of people around me.
I also see now that my mom could have really benefited from having a stronger support system and community when she was raising me. It's clear to me that having a village of support is not just a nice idea – it's truly essential for navigating the challenges of adolescence and beyond.

Communication is Key in any relationship but extremely important in adolescent years
Teen years can be rough , research shows the most dangerous year is 14 . That’s the year that teens transition from middle school to high school . It’s crucial that our teens feel validated in their feelings and thoughts because what they are going through is a real part of their lives.
Learning to communicate with teens is very important but what's just as important is teens learning how to communicate with their parents .
This week I’ll be providing helpful tips for teens to communicate effectively with their parents and next week part 2 will be tips for parents to communicate effectively with their teens .
Friendship Change As We Grow But When Is It Time To Let Go Of A Friendship ?
✨ Friendship takes effort
✨ Friendship takes listening
✨ Friendship takes understanding
✨ Friendship takes vulnerability
No Friendship Is Perfect but what if your EXPECTATION of that friendship is not being met what if that friendship is compromising your mental health ?
A “C” student can be just as successful as an “A” student. TRUST me I know. In high school I was a B student with a few C’s and failed a couple classes. Today I’m a Registered Nurse working on pursing my purpose and passion. If I allowed those grades to make me feel stupid, dumb or inadequate I wouldn’t be the person I’m becoming today.
Life Transitions may leave us feeling overwhelmed, anxious, depressed and uncertain. BUT I’m here to tell you this too shall pass and there is a light at the end of the tunnel. From middle to high school, high school to college, new friends, old friends & new environments can definitely be a lot to handle alone. Tune as I share about how I personally get through life transition NOW and what I wish I knew in my teenage years.
This Episode Was Made In Honor Of May (Mental Health Awareness Month)
Most will talk about when everything in life is Great and hide when things are NOT OKAY . Most will share the GOOD and not the BAD. Tune in as I share how I personally deal with not being OKAY.
