Registered psychotherapist Natacha Duke, MA, RP, also explained in this article The difference between trauma bonding and relationship conflict. She states, "Conflict in relationships is normal and can actually be healthy if both partners are treated as equals and able to communicate and resolve the conflict in a respectful way; but in abusive relationships, the conflict often follows a pattern of gaslighting, manipulation and blaming — along with a power imbalance."

This is S01 E00 of The Voice Of Tamar. Our season will begin on June 14th, until then, please consider subscribing and sharing this with a friend, family member, or someone you know who needs to hear this.
There is a story of a young lady named Tamar. Her father was a mighty king. While he is praised for his ability to rule and his many victories, one thing he is certainly not praised for his ability to father his children. It is said that Tamar’s half-brother Amnon became obsessed with her. His obsession for her became violent, and in the story, he ultimately raped and disgraced her. In the story, we never hear of Tamar’s recovery, and readers are left to presume that Tamar was not able to recover from this pain.
There are many parallels from Tamar’s story to that of many women today. Like Tamar, most women who have been sexually violated are consumed by shame or feel as though they are voiceless. Vanessa Santiago has decided to share the parallels that exist between her own personal story and the story of Tamar, and to be The Voice of Tamar; a voice for the voiceless.
