Sermon Text: Psalm 13
Our feelings aren't always rational. In fact, they rarely ever are. Yet, we experience great highs and great lows of emotion throughout our lifetime. Especially when we are suffering, or waiting on the Lord to answer our prayers. What we feel can often lead us astray from God, so what, then, should we do with our feelings while we wait on the Lord?
Pastor Matt Cavazos is going on his first year of marriage to the love of his life, Gabi, and he lives in Lubbock, TX. The Lord saved me from alcoholism roughly four years ago, and He put me to work. I have been doing various forms of ministry since, I was an associate pastor for a small Spanish church for a year and a half, and in October He called me to my first pastorate. I now pastor New Life Baptist Church, I preach the Gospel, and I am saved by grace.

Sermon Text: Acts1:8 Pastor Chris preaches/teaches us from Acts1:8, and reminds us that Jesus Christ is coming back at an hour nobody knows. We need to wake up stop playing games and get it to the necessary task of warning our friends and family of his imminent return and judgment, and persuade them to receive him as lord and savior while there is still time!

Sermon Text: (2 Co 12:1-10) The all too common brokenness on the ground seems unexplainable if we do not connect it to the gospel of the brokenness of Christ on the cross. Christ's brokenness is the pathway to our salvation and while we are still here awaiting His return, our constantly shattered selves are rearranged by His active grace, picking up our shattered pieces and arranging them into a beautiful mosaic. Philippians 2:12-18 Today we focus on the obedience in working out our salvation. This is not to say we are trying to earn salvation as if Jesus' death and resurrection were not enough to pay for our sins and take away the wrath of God from us; no, this is so that we as believers grow in our sanctification process. We are to be in the sin-killing business, within ourselves and united as the church. We should not be like the world in their sin. This putting sin to death can only be done by, thru, and with God. We may not always understand the "why" to a command, but inevitably if God calls us to obey, we must. Big Idea: When we work out our salvation in obedience, it confirms that we are children of God. There is always an unwelcome elephant in the room of the gospel community that often gets haven in the church. The elephant is known as the functional righteousness of a particular ethnicity.
