The Psalms are a collection of singing, screaming, searching and sanctifying ancient Hebrew poetry. They describe life hopefully, angrily and honestly directly to God. Sounds like an example that we could all benefit from. To study the Psalms is to learn of ourselves, our God and our lives.

For generations Psalm 23 has brought peace and encouragement to those wrapped up in the realities of life. We are going to let the Good Shepherd speak into our lives and receive the promise of his presence with us.
A long time ago … Once upon a time … There was once … We awaken when hear those familiar introductions. Wonder, possibility, imagination, life lessons, patterns for life, examples of how to do it. All of these things arrive through stories. We love the stories of others and are constantly striving to make our story better too. We are shaped by our experiences and our relationships both of which are constantly being written. We are made of stories.

Communication breakdown. You say one thing but I hear another. We have heard things time and time again and just figure, ‘that must be true.’ But is it? When this concerns the way God speaks to us it is very important for us to see and hear God consistently. Let’s look into some of those MIXED MESSAGES and be about removing confusion.

When you meet up with a Bible Bully who goes on and says something that is just BANANAS, just relax and get into the scriptures yourself and use these tips to help you sort it out.
Jesus’ resurrection launched a series of events that introduced the world to his new covenant and new hope. But old ways don’t easily give way. Not then. Not now.Maybe it’s time for you to consider the version of Christianity that relies on the event of the resurrection of Jesus as its foundation.

The story of the Resurrection is not a Bible Story, it is THE story. The story reveals a King and I have never heard of a King like that.

Some Christians say that at the end, the whole earth is going to be burned up and there will be a new heaven and a new earth. What's with the burning all the time? Why does that matter to me anyways?
Most people believe in heaven, and most people believe they'll end up there. Can we really know?People came before commandments. With God, relationships always precede rules.
Who's Going? Most people believe in heaven, and most people believe they'll end up there. Can we really know?02: Jesus offered the most just system possible in an unjust world.

When you doubt and when you are afraid the concept of Hell is unpleasant at best and horrifying at worst. Jesus talked about it, we have heard about it, but for the most part we just can't wrap our heads around it. So many awkward questions and so many weak or confusing answers. It's time to get this cleared up a bit, it's time to go LOOKING INTO: Hell

Prophecy and Prophets are part of the Biblical record but are they heros, villians or some of each? That question is relevant today and so that's why we're LOOKING INTO Prophecy.
Chalk it up to coincidence or luck if you want, but we think there’s something bigger going on when the impossible happens. Are you searching for hope? Are you waiting for a miracle in your life? Today might just be the day When Pigs Fly.

We've lived at the self-indulgent surface of spirituality for long enough, it's time to dive deeper. It's not just about me and getting what I want, but it can be very much about me getting what I want. How can these be true at the same time? While the words seem the same it is all made new when we are deeply LINKED with God.

What does it mean for us to be together? In BEING TOGETHER is a guide for what that looks like?
During the December series The Gift, our attention will be drawn back to the true meaning of the holiday season. By highlighting the significance of the gifts the wise men brought to Jesus (gold, frankincense, and myrrh), we will be able to connect the symbolism within the story of Christ’s birth to our relationship with Jesus. Together we will gain new insight on the birth of Jesus to gain a deeper understanding of who He is.

Every day, no matter where you are, you hear people saying things and you think to yourself, "You know what? I've heard that somewhere before." So many images, metaphors and idioms that are deeply imbedded in our very secular culture have their origins in sacred writings. It's there, right in front of us all the time. As a culture we are deeply influenced by scripture. What if we could bring some of the sacred back into these well known sayings? What if we could remind ourselves and those around us of the transformative nature of these sayings gifted to us by God?

We allow certain habits to help us deal with life, but sometimes the bad habits can become part of our identity. It’s time to separate ourselves from these 'necessary' habits and recognize them for what they really are: sins. This four-week series covers lying, gossip, lust, and anger and teaches us how to replace these sin-nature habits with obedience and grace.

Following Jesus’ crucifixion, his followers expected what anyone expects after someone dies: that they would remain that way. But one of Jesus’s followers, John, gave an eyewitness account which summarized the main event surrounding Christianity: Jesus rose from the dead. Jesus is exactly who he claimed to be.
Most of us know some Bible stories, but very few of us know the story of the Bible. And it may be surprising to discover it’s a story that doesn’t actually begin in the beginning. It begins with the accounts of a few men who sat down to record the death and resurrection of Jesus. It begins with the words of his followers who were compelled to document the events that had changed everything for them — because they knew it could change everything for us.

Out of the overflow of the heart the mouth speaks. Out of the overflow of the heart the life is lived. This year we are going to look specifically at what that outflow looks like within our upside down world. What does it look like to be about BREAKING DOWN BARRIERS? What is holding people back from coming to Jesus? coming to Church? and investing in their spiritual lives? What can we do and how should we live to partner with the Holy Spirit in making that happen?
During a major epidemic, first-century Christians acted in such a way that people outside the faith couldn’t ignore them. It's not enough to believe correctly. We must act on what we say we believe.

How do we remain hopeful in a world that seems hopelessly broken? How do we continue to trust a God that seems conspicuously absent? How do we find peace in a world that is spinning out of control? If you've ever asked questions like these, you're not alone . . . and you're not the first.
Uncertainty is nothing new. And the uncertainty we face today is no different from the uncertainty faced by the men and women of the Bible. And like them, we are left to question God's faithfulness, his presence, his concern. In this 3-episode series, we're reminded that . . . He's Still* Got the Whole World in His Hands.

And like them, we are left to question God's faithfulness, his presence, his concern. In this 3-episode series, we're reminded that . . . He's Still* Got the Whole World in His Hands.
God doesn’t call us to find a power within ourselves to overcome the issues we face in this life. He calls us to put on His armour because we're facing a battle. And His weapons aren’t silly spiritual suggestions that might or might not work. His weapons are certain. Eph. 6:13-18

In this world, you’ll have struggles. You’ll face opposition. You’ll be challenged. And there’s a reason for that: this world is not your home. So answer hate with love, find joy in the midst of trials, and rely on a strength beyond yourself. You’re meant to be … Different.

Jesus didn’t come to initiate Judaism 2.0. He came to offer something entirely new to the world: a new covenant that would forever change humankind’s relationship with God. And with that new covenant came a new ethic—one that insisted that the greatest choose the back of the line.
Sometimes it is just hard to be where we are, hard to not wish our way to somewhere else. It's hard to be in a hurting spot but it might be in that hurting spot that we can connect with Christ in a manner that is unlike anything "normal."
Jesus did not come as an AND he came as an INSTEAD OF and the covenant that he initiated radically changed the way that we may interact with God.
If you think Jesus was a great leader and teacher, but find it hard to believe in his resurrection, you’re in good company. Even his disciples were sceptical. But those same followers were the ones who would later become the spokesmen of a new movement: the church. They would maintain faith in the midst of incredible suffering. Many died still claiming that Jesus was their Saviour. So what do we make of this defining event—the one that became the foundation of their faith . . . and of ours?
At Passover, Jesus gathered his followers and spelled out a new relational arrangement between God and humankind: “As I have loved you, so you must love one another.” But Jesus wasn’t celebratory. He seemed troubled. Initiating this new covenant with God would require sacrifice. What came next would confuse his followers and send them scattering.
Jesus introduced the most powerful, transformational, and inspirational leadership principle on the planet. Every leader you respect practices it. The leaders you don’t repect, don’t practice it. You can lead without it, but you won’t be a leader worth following unless you embrace it.
Jesus claimed to be greater than the temple. He made the temple obsolete. Most of his followers assumed his end game was to declare himself king. The more discerning among them sensed something else was going on. Jesus spoke with authority but refused to take charge. He wielded extraordinary power, but never for himself. What was he up to?

Jesus came to introduce something new for the world. He was not an and. Jesus was an instead of. He came to replace what had been in place since the time of Moses. The Upside Down is the story of Jesus from the day he stepped into history as an adult on the banks of the Jordan River to the morning his grave was discovered empty. Our hope is that this series will help you rediscover, or perhaps discover for the first time, the NEW that Jesus introduced to the world . . . for the world . . . for you!

There is an unsettling and unexpected gift that solves just about everything, and we can sum it up in one word. Grace. It’s the undeserved, unearned, unearnable favour that Jesus came to offer us. So why wouldn’t we want Christianity to be true? And where should you start if it’s a word that was never part of the equation for you?

Politics is not an emotionally neutral topic. It has the power to divide us instead of bring us together.
What would it look like if Christians filtered their politics through their faith rather than filtering their faith through their politics?

One of the unique things Christians believe is that God became one of us. For thirty years he lived under cover as a carpenter, surfaced as a miracle worker and rabbi for three years, and allowed himself to die in the most degrading way imaginable. He came as one of us but was treated as less than one of us. Why in the world would God do that?
