Season 2 is here and we’re back with a chat on how Summer 2020 has been shaping up, in what ways we’ve gone back to “normal and in what ways we haven’t, the music getting us through it, and most importantly issues of social justice that have been at the forefront of our minds. This week we’re talking about some of the challenges we’re facing being in quarantine for so long and how everyone is exploring what they can do out of the house. We also touch upon maintaining a healthy schedule and lifestyle at home. We then go over how Charli XCX’s new quarantine album ‘how i’m feeling now’ expresses exactly that. Oh and we’re also wondering why Lady Gaga is selling jockstraps as merch now??
This week we’re talking about the scandalous ways some are breaking quarantine (including a party in Hell’s Kitchen!). We’re also trying to pronounce X Æ A-12 Musk’s name and reflecting on the struggles of having people pronounce our “foreign” names. We also touch upon working out, Britney’s burnt down gym, and the music and career of Jayesh’s fave Kylie Minogue. ❤️
In this episode of the podcast we continue to discuss Covid coping mechanisms from coffee making to masks (of both the skincare and protective variety). We also discuss being part of non-North American cultures and how artists such as Lido Pimienta, Rina Sawayama, (and the Pussycat Dolls?) touch on similar experiences.
This week we are joined by a special guest and our best friend who introduced us to each other, Geith Maal-Bared! Calling in from Toronto, Geith is reporting to us on the quarantine in Canada and tells us all about ‘Science is a Drag,’ a special event series that combines drag with science!
