P.S. A note from Rena...It has been a tough week for those of us who serve people in recovery in the north metro Atlanta area, as we lost yet another one of our young men to overdose. This one hurts deeply because he was an exceptional person from a beautiful and loving family. In recording the closing for this episode, I wept big tears for my young friend and his family. I almost re-recorded the message, but then again decided to keep it exactly as it is...Raw, emotional, difficult to hear. It's time we all let down our guards and started standing up and fighting for those who struggle...and their families.

It's amazing to me the impact that one person can have on the world. Such is the case with Janine Maxwell, and her husband Ian, and the call on their lives to care for the least of these in Eswatini, Africa (formerly Swaziland). The two are parents to two biological children and 252 once orphaned and abandoned children.  In her words, "We love these children back to life."  In this episode, learn more about Janine's journey from business executive to mother of orphans, and the non-profit organization she and her husband lead, Heart for Africa.

So much of how we view and perceive the world starts with our own personal mindset. But culture--and especially the news media--wants us to focus on what's wrong instead of what's right. I encourage you to switch off those streams of negativity and instead, choose a life of service and love to other people.

My guest on this episode embodies these principles of faith, hope and love and is also a brilliant (and humble) marketing and business leader. Jeff Henderson, a pastor, entrepreneur and now author, has written a new book that helps us understand why being FOR something, versus against, is not only a good growth strategy for work, but an even better strategy for life.

In this episode, Jeff and I talk faith, family, Chick-fil-A, and his new book, KNOW WHAT YOU'RE FOR which releases October 1st. Please listen and share the hope and message of "For".
