Kevin bailed on recording this week, so John Jorgenson is here! We have a call in questions and answer session on Truck and Trailer Tire Wear and Handling complaints. Mike talks about how they're not "trucking experts", but actually "tire experts" =P.
We have had some time off, and now we're back! Talking about tires, wear and handling. We start off with a convo we had last week, about tires that are failing on one axel of the trailer. Call in and ask us your questions!
Kevin Beckett is here with MD Alignment community member, John Jorgenson. Mike's taking a sick day, so we're here to answer questions on alignment and tire wear on heavy trucks.

Mike and Kevin Beckett address some of the tire wear and handling issues that we experience and take some questions.
We talk about whether or not we are experts (uhhh?) and we talk about a few trainings that we've been to recently. Otherwise we take your calls and questions.
Today Mike and Kevin are talking about handling issues. Specifically, they're talking about light pulls in one direction or the other. A tendency to want to pull to the right or left is generally caused by:
the slope/crown of the road (we in North America are constantly on the right and compensating to the left)
a tire issue (tire wear patterns)
frame distortion (diamond, side-swayed, twisted, or suspension components)
steering gear box fault (not very common)
They explain all this jumble and teach us how to fix it and get the most of our trucks! Let's get rolling!
Many things that cause tire wear also cause handling issues. And so if you correct one, you can correct the other! It's beneficial to look at handling problems, and though there may be some overlap with tire-wear issues, it's good to look from both angles. The three most common handling problems show up in:
a pull towards one side or the other
vibrations
road wander (swirly/loose steering wheel)
We'll talk about all of these, and take your questions and comments! Let's get rolling!
We're continuing the theme from last week of talking about tall and short tires. We try to explain and get some questions and answers. Why don't irregular patterns in tires straighten out after the mechanical problems that started it are corrected? How can you get the most from your tires? Let's get rolling.
It's episode 20 of the Rolling Toe Show! Can you believe it? Today we're doing part one of two, where we'll be talking about Tall Tire/Short Tire. It's all about tire wear, we are trying to explain it, and of course give you some more details and explanations. Which tire wears out first and how can you get the most from your tires? Let's get rolling!

Hey we're here again talking about Loose Components. We chat about adjustable wheel bearings. Most of them are too loose and leads to vibrations, break problems and wear. The industry is afraid of setting them too tight, and so they set them too loose. We teach you how to solve this, take your calls and hopefully answer your questions!
It's the Rolling Toe show and today Mike and Kevin are chatting about loose components, like wheels and other truck parts that are falling off. Are the supporting components to the alignment in a good position? Usually, when diagnosing a truck, they're not! So today we talk about why this is important, and how to do it yourself. Of course we take your questions and even try to answer them! Let's get rolling!
We took a week off last week, but we're back for episode 15! Crazy— we've done 15 episodes. We had some trouble with releasing the episodes before, but now it's over. So check Facebook, iTunes or your apps for weekly episodes. Let us know what you think.
On today's show we're talking about bent or distorted wheels, and improperly mounted rims. We talk about the tolerance and inch-by-inch variation. We talk about heat and try to avoid some distortion catastrophes. Let's get rolling!
Welcome! It's episode 14 and today we're talking about tire wear and handling... again! hahaha, but really today's episode is about mismount — the tire on the rim, rim on the hub, and the brake drum on the hub. Usually this isn't a huge problem we run into, but improper placement of these will result in tire wear. Let's get rolling!
Mike and Kevin Beckett talk about the CMC event, what's coming up next year and a bunch about balance. We talk about how important it is for overall tire-life, especially on a heavy truck. We take your questions and give you some answers about alignment and tire wear. Let's get rolling!

It’s the Rolling Toe show, we’re on part 3 of our episodes on inflation! Kevin and Mike Beckett from the AudioRoad Network are here to take you through everything tires.
We had a lot of conversation this week on inflation and how to maintain and monitor inflation. Obviously this means getting your tires checked— not by a tire thumper! What is causing tire wear issues? If you don’t check your tires (and we mean ALL of your tires!), we can tell you, you’ll never figure it out.
We talk about the different inflation systems, and their pros and cons. We also take your questions and comments. Let’s get rolling!
It’s the Rolling Toe show! Kevin and Mike Beckett from the AudioRoad Network are here to take your calls.
We’re talking about alignments and tire wear, and things that effect alignments and tire wear. So if you have a question, or if you just want to share a comment, call in any Sunday at 9pm EST!
Last week we discussed some of the basics of inflation- particularly cold inflation. Today we revisit what that means, and also talk about ambient pressure, the effects of weather and indoors/outdoor temperatures.
Now all of this is good to understand, but really we want to understand more so we can change and extend the life of our tires. Let’s get rolling!
It’s the Rolling Toe show! Kevin and Mike Beckett from the AudioRoad Network are here to take your calls.
Today we chat camber, castor and toe. We clarify what these things mean in relation to your wheel alignment, and steer and drive axel. Where is the horsepower coming from? Where does the direction control come from? How can we better align to reduce wear and tear?
We investigate. Join us, ask your questions. Let’s get rolling!
It’s the Rolling Toe show! Kevin and Mike Beckett from the AudioRoad Network are here to take your calls.
We start by talking about the specifications of alignments. We’ve all heard it before, but what does “it’s within specs” really mean?
Kevin wrote a post about specifications of vehicle alignment. The make, axel, tire and alignment equipment all change what specs are right for you. Because of this, we have “alignment targets”— which are numbers that are all goals to shoot for, but not necessarily obtain.
Today Mike and Kevin share the development process, and especially focus on the alignment for the axel. We talk about the 9 minute myth and the appropriate time to align axels.
So what’s really going on? Let's find out. Let’s get rolling!
It’s the Rolling Toe show! Kevin and Mike Beckett from the AudioRoad Network are here to take your calls.
The show is a bit shorter today, because of technical difficulties, but we get through it and try our best to diagnose your trucking problems. Today we’re focusing on Alignment Procedures. It’s the 3rd post we wrote— if you’re looking at our facebook or LinkedIn.
Car alignments are not the same as Truck alignments! Medium and Heavy Duty vehicles need to be 10 times better aligned than cars. We’re helping you save the miles and dollars from your alignment.
We share the two most important alignment measurements and mistakes that really make the difference.

Today, it’s all about finding the characteristics of the tire-wear. We share the top 5 descriptions that can help you find the real problem you’re having with your truck. We breakdown the two categories of Tire Wear and the three categories of Handling Complaints. We also tell you the things to identify so that you can have useful diagnostics on your truck.
We talk about how to avoid problems with your alignment, suspension, wear on your tires, and oil spills. We answer your questions and hear some great stories of improvement from people who have taken Mike and Kevin’s advice!
Let’s get rolling!
It’s the inaugural Rolling Toe show! Kevin and Mike Beckett from the Audioroad Network are here to take your calls, among the hilarious radio mixups we have.
Today, it’s all about the alignment industry. How can you get better tire life? Is the cost of alignments adding to the cost of the tire, without actually adding any value to it? We talk about the kind of mileage you should be getting out of your steer tires, and what’s causing us to not get the mileage we want and need!
We answer your questions on the wear and tear of your tires, the right suspension for your truck, and when to know if your axel is too flexible. Mike’s so good, he can even guess the problem you’re experiencing by just knowing the model of the tires and suspension you have.
Let’s get rolling!
