So often we find ourselves trying to answer questions by quoting parts of scripture. Jesus calls us to do more than quote the scripture. He calls us to KNOW the scripture; To know it in our hearts; For it to live out in every part of our life. As we listen, may we be called to dig in to God's Word and really get to understand His Word and His will for us.
In times of trouble or pressure, we can find it so easy to give up and take the easy route. Jesus challenges us to believe Him as trust Him, all the more, during these times. When you are unsure about your life or worried about the worlds issues, read His Word and believe Him for peace in your life.

So often, we don't listen to what Jesus is really saying. Just as the disciples did not understand when Jesus spoke of "the yeast of the pharisees", we read His words in the Bible but still do not understand. We can easily be misled by false teaching. May we truly listen when God is speaking, may we truly understand what he is saying to us. Do not worry about our problems, but understand the truth that Jesus is fully aware of what is happening in our life. Trust Him.

As followers of Jesus we may face ‘unexpected’ storms but Jesus is always with us in the storms of life. Are we like the disciples who Jesus rebuked for their lack of faith? We've heard people say "God is Good, All the Time", but what is His Goodness. What does it look like? Is it our circumstances or our happiness? Romans Chapter 3 shows us that the Goodness of God is not based on our definition of Goodness. Goodness is who God is. We can see His Goodness through his protection and guidance by the law.

We all know how easy it is to come up with excuses, and how easy it is to look at others and judge the things they do, but what about ourselves? Psalm 98 speaks of the wonders of God on the earth. Today we look at the goodness of God throughout the scriptures and, the ways he has shown His love for his creation. We see his victory, his salvation, his righteousness, mercy and faithfulness towards us. He came to us as Saviour and our hearts ought to be full of joy for all the wonders he has shown us.

As we understand the gospel more, we should be compelled to share it. Share it not just with those around us, but to all nations. God often calls us in to places we may be unsure of, but he promises to go with us. As we ask God to stretch us, may we be willing to go where he is calling us.

The church in Acts is the perfect example for us to follow as we are the church where we are. God calls us to be His people no matter where we are and who we are with. God wants to stretch us further to not only build our faith but also to build His kingdom.

Many think the Jesus spoke only to the Disciples, the leaders, the priests, telling them to Witness. What we find is has called us all to be witnesses. We also find that if we fail to witness, he will use someone else. It is far better to obey God and let him use you in His plan, than it is to have Him do His plan and you miss out on being a part.

As the disciples waited for the Holy Spirit they could have easily become frustrated at the time where "nothing seemed to be happening". God was using that time to build them and draw them to Him. There will be times where we feel called to go, but need to wait as God works in our lives and builds works on our heart and skills.

It’s hard to be humble when you’re already perfect, right? Humility can be hard, it’s far easier to do things our own way. We find in life that pride will move us away from God. Where are we resisting Gods authority over us, work, government, church, spouse, parents?
"I only lie sometimes." "I just haven't got around to giving back that tool I borrowed." Often we think that a little lie or and small sin isn't so bad. In reality, what we find is that from little sins, big sins grow. Its easier to pull out a small weed than it is to try remove a forest of overgrown vines. May we recognise the small sins and ask God to keep us in check, before they get to far.

As Paul says to the Corinthian’s, we are all called to be saints. We are called to serve and have been equipped by Christ with many gifts. Too often, we get caught up in the pleasures of this world. We misuse or fail to use the gifts we have been given. Let us serve where we have been placed. Living in this world but driven by Christ’s power over this world and by the saving Grace of Salvation.

Sometimes we can get caught up with all the rules surrounding religion. Jesus came to set us free! Do we act different when the boss is watching? How about when the police are following you driving? How much different would we live our lives if we recognised Jesus is always with us. May we focus on the person rather than the rules.

The last of this series bring us to why do all that we do. For the glory of God. We can be so comfortable doing good things, helping people, and even serving in church ministries. It is of no gain if it is not for God's Glory. Not a person, not a church, not a denomination but for His glory and His name. It may be time to re-evaluate why you do what you do. Possibly step out into the uncomfortable and give God the Glory in all you do.
God has called us to go into all the world. This was never a new concept to Him though, it has always been in God's heart that all of the world and all of the nations would know Him. His heart for you is the same yesterday today and forever and He is still calling us to go.

When we talk 'giving' in church it will usually make a number of people feel uncomfortable. This may be because our wallet is quite precious to us. As we look deeper at giving, we realise it's not just about money. The Bible explains in a number of area's where giving is based on our hearts motive. Lets look at how uncomfortable things get when we fail to give as the God desires.

Depending on your circumstances, Father's Day can mean anything from a celebration to a non-event. As Christian's and as children of God we can recognise that we have a Good Father. We look through the parable of the Prodigal Son and how we sometimes aren't the perfect children and can act as the brother did. May we not be resentful of our siblings but join as the Father did in celebration that the child has come home, in to the family of God.

We all have things that we a naturally good at and things we like to do. Not all of us are gifted in areas such teaching, or giving, or encouraging. What we also recognise is that even those gifted in teaching may not like teaching all ages; children might not be your forte. Who really has the gift of cleaning toilets? But it needs to be done. We find as we gather together, we are compelled to use our gifts. Sometimes this is uncomfortable, but also very necessary as we grow as disciples of Christ.

Sometimes you may find it easier to stay at home or simply go to sports on a Sunday. We learn that it is important to come together and sometimes that may be uncomfortable. Gathering is something we may not want to do, but is important if we are wanting to grow.
As we begin to grow and understand God's grace in our live we want to share that with others. Sometimes it can be uncomfortable; not knowing how they will react; what if they never talk to you again? Listen as guest speaker Ps Troy Beer shares on some key ingredients of the Gospel and how to effectively do you part in sharing the Gospel with those around you.
As we understand God's grace we understand that we must begin to grow. We look at growth as a Christian and realise that sometimes it can be uncomfortable.
For those of us who have grown up in the church, the word 'grace' is very familiar. Grace is not just a little prayer we say before a meal, it's a way of life. But how comfortable are we when others seem to do less but receive the same pay we do. Most of us feel justified when we are paid according to how much we work but what if it wasn't like that. What if everyone was paid the same, regardless of how much we worked? What if our pay was based upon the fact that we worked when we were asked to. Jesus told a parable that described that situation. He was explaining that God extends His grace to us even when we don;t deserve it. That may make you squirm a little knowing that there are some people that will be in Heaven who, at one time, were not nice people. It may make us feel a little uncomfortable knowing that we are to extend grace also to those who may not deserve it.
