Happy International Podcast Day!

Thank you so much for your support over the years, and for listening with open ears and an open mind. A musical connection is, in my belief, the most powerful, because it transcends words and thoughts. Music is a feeling. It's a vibe. It can unite 100 people in a room speaking 100 different languages. But it can also unite us back to ourselves when we feel lost. For me, it's one of the great loves of my life and it's a privilege to share it with you.

To celebrate Podcast Day, I'm releasing a set that most of you have only heard the first hour. When we went into lockdown last year, Hydrate Nightclub in Chicago started a weekly Zoom dance party called Quarankiki. I had never livestreamed a set before, and was honestly feeling like the world was crashing down upon me. Over the course of a few days, a virus obliterated not just my job, but my entire field of work across the globe. Not exactly the best headspace to be in when preparing set that is supposed to heal and uplift.

But then I remembered - things can only get better. That was the message. The message I needed to tell myself, and the message I knew I needed to share.

16 months later, this is still one of my favorite sets. The second previously unreleased hour features the deep cuts of my set, like a private dub mix of "This Is Me" from Leanh & I, and mashups of "Miss Americana" and "You're Beautiful" I've only played this time. Thank you to Mark, Grayden & the whole Hydrate team who got us zooming and booming safely each week. As special and fun as it was, though, I hope we never have to it again!

The 20th Anniversary of my debut Cherry Performance in Washington DC was April 22, 2001, 5 years into my DJ career. Now 20 years later, I am thrilled to present part 4 of my full DJ set ‘Platinum Cherry After-hours." You can find parts 1-3 here.

In 2001, the only way to build a DJ career was word of mouth. There was no Facebook or Instagram. Or SoundCloud. For people to hear my sound and build a name, I had to reach and impress them in person. Impress them enough to reach the ears of someone in charge. Getting booked and being well received at a Cherry Afterhours in the Northeast region, where I needed a break to build my name, remains a pivotal part of my DJ journey. My career accelerated from first to third gear in one night.

This is part 4 of the 4 part set, the final 70 minutes of the event. For me, there's a timeless sonic quality to this mix compared to the others. Thanks for joining me as we explore the complex, complicated and often times confusing "feel"ings we all have, one by one through music. For me, the only theme to kick 2020s butt out and welcome 2021 can only be “happy.”

Even in the new year, achieving true happiness is as difficult as finding “the one.” Most days, happiness for me is contentment. When my chips are down, I can sometimes dwell on the negative, even though I know turning my head just a few degrees can change my entire outlook. I think that’s why music plays a pivotal role in my quest for personal happiness. It gives me that nudge I need sometimes to shift my focu. To accomplish anything I set out to do. If Beyonce can find her Angel now, so can I, right? If Florence says the “dog days are over,” then ok, they are! Kylie is asking us to be as one again. I don’t need an engraved invitation. On the flip side, if Gaga isn’t having “fun tonight,” then maybe it’s ok, I’m not either. I’m happy knowing I’m not alone in feeling that.

The “Happy” theme is the perfect outlet for new reworks & mashups : LG’s previously mentioned “Fun Tonight,” T Swifts glorious “Happiness” from her new album, and a 2021 update of the Fire Island classic “Life, Love & Happiness” by Brian Kennedy make their debut here.

The first remix I ever produced with DJ Leanh from Brazil was "Stronger Together" by Jessica Sanchez. And those two words, "stronger together," is how I would so fittingly describe the relationship with my extremely talented co-producer. Until that remix, I honestly had been struggling with how my remixes were sounding. There were elements of the mix that I couldn't quite figure out, and was growing tired of creating what I thought was sub-par work. When you a music producer, you are expected to be a "band in a box," if you will. You have to not only have to know how to run the music production software, and have a basic understanding of music, but you have to also be a "drummer," a "bass player," a "keyboard player," and so forth. Essentially, when you remix a song, all we are given are the vocal parts - and the rest is up to us. Drum patterns, percussion elements, bass rhythms, chords, melodic hooks, and so forth, are all for the producers to come up with.

Of course, if you know what you're doing, it's an incredibly satisfying thing to produce a piece of music, and have it go out into the world, and affect people in a positive way. But it's an incredibly daunting task when there are areas where you know you lack in. Having formed a connection with Leanh after playing at his club in Brazil, I reached out to him asking if he would help me on a remix I was currently working on that needed to be finished in a week. It was "Stronger Together." I sent him the work I had done so far, and within a few days, our first co-production was born. Since then, a musical relationship has been formed that's made me fall in love with music all over again.

I am so incredibly proud of the remixes that Leanh & I have produced over the last 2 years. It's been even more rewarding to see the response to these remixes on the dance floors across the words, especially with "This Is Me." We produce music from the heart, and hope that it's received in a positive way. So, thank you so much for accepting this music we made into your lives! May it lift you up, shake you down, and make you feel alive the way it does us!

DJing the "GLOW" Closing Event at Purple Party in Dallas this year was without a doubt one of the highlights of my career! WHITE PARTY ZURICH!

I'm so excited about my debut DJ performance in Zurich, Switzerland this year for the legendary Angel's WHITE PARTY!! This party is legendary, and some of the biggest names on the circuit have headlined this event.

This set features some of my hottest tracks and vocals right now, including a preview of my new single with Steven Redant, "Together & Always." I close the set with two very special selections: first, the new remix of Rita Ora's "Anywhere" I produced with DJ Leanh, and a special tribute to Avicii, who as we all know passed away earlier this month. Hey Guys,

Here is my new podcast celebrating XLSIOR festival in Mykonos!

I'm excited to debut a couple of things on here. First, I kick things off with a preview of the new GAUTHREAUX + GRIND tech house track, featuring vocals from the one & only SANDY B, called "Keep the Hands Clapping." We wanted to write a track about the feeling of "Freedom," and what that would sound like. We hope you like it - because in end, WE CAN ALL BE FREE! This will be a PROP D RECORDINGS release - coming August 11th to online shops everywhere!

On a late Summer day in 1996, a very young and determined 20 year old boy walked into a gay nightclub in New Orleans called Oz. It was named after the movie, in case you’re wondering. I had a box full of cds that I bought from online shops after scouring the playlists of Susan Morabito and other Fire Island DJs I looked up to at that time. I had no clue what Susan looked liked, or where David Morales lived, or how Michael Fierman styled his hair. Nor did I care. It was a time of pre social media when you fell in love with a DJ with your ears, not your eyes. I had few records too, though I had no clue how a turntable worked at that point. But somehow I convinced the owners of the club I could DJ, and had the music people weren’t hearing in New Orleans at the moment because none of their local DJs were as obsessed with New York and Fire Island as I was. In 1996, Fire Island was the gay circuit. It was the Holy Grail of gay nightlife, in my opinion at least. It taught me what gay men wanted to dance to. Even though I had never taken a step on the island myself, I felt like I could bring that sound to New Orleans, in all of my wildly optimistic youthful ambition.

Oz was in a transitional stage at that moment, and as luck would have it, were looking for a change. Maybe I was in the right place at the right time, or maybe I would have found another way into the career I have now. All I know is that 20 years ago started me off on a journey that I only dreamed of, and keep dreaming of….

However this year, we're painfully reminded how much longer that road will be with the recent tragedy that happened in Orlando. I don't think anyone, myself certainly included, can think of gay pride this year without remembering those we lost at Pulse nightclub and how important it is to keep them in our hearts and memories as we continue the fight those before us started. Now more than ever, we must celebrate life and all that it means.

Hey guys,

Something you probably know about me by now is that I'm not really big into "looking back." I love making memories with friends, and all the traveling and music along the way hold a special place in my heart, but I'm the kind of person who generally likes to let things live where they live. It's why I want to write my own songs and make something new to put out into the world. It's also why I don't really think about anything I've done creatively in the past, no matter what my feelings are about it, good or otherwise. I'm usually focused on what I'm doing at the moment, and how that can go into the world in the best way.

But there is one event I played that to this day stays with me, and I find myself thinking about it from time to time - Pines Party 2011 on Fire Island. As a DJ, you have certain dreams and goals, and this was definitely one of them. I didn't lobby for this party - one day, Josh Wood (who produced the party at the time) called me up out of the blue and asked if I'd like to play it. I think I was at the supermarket at the time because I can clearly remember having some kind of moment in the produce section at Trader Joe's.

I also remember being really happy with the music I was playing at the time of this event - I had just remixed "Someone Like You" by Adele with Brian Cua and it was one of the first remixes I was really happy with and that other DJs were playing. While there are a few tracks in this set that I wish I hadn't played, generally speaking this night holds up. Listening to it again after so many years, I can still remember the moments the crowd exploded to certain tracks, or when the the sun started to come up over the Atlantic (it was during "Blue Savannah," btw). This night was magical.

So here it is. My ALMOST full set from Pines Party 2011 (sorry, but I think the first couple of tracks are missing - I can't remember why but I know I didn't start with the first track on here.) Thanks to everyone who made this night so special and continue to support me to this day. Pines Party is still one of the best circuit events produced and I'm forever grateful to them for this night.

Life Stands Before Me.

That's the last line of the chorus to my new single "February (Our Last Kiss)" with Abigail, the voice of "Let the Joy Rise" and countless other anthems you love. When we wrote that line, we really liked the idea that it could mean different things to different people. If you're really sad, and have recently found yourself heartbroken, then life seems like this big mountain that you'll never be able to climb, no matter how hard you try. Or if you are finally getting over someone, the "Life Stands Before Me" line could mean that you have your whole life ahead of you, and the best moments are yet to come.

I think that's why I love music so much. A hundred people can hear one song, and it can move them a hundred different ways. But we're all united by it just the same. Life can be pretty beautiful.

Hey guys, here are my top 20 tracks of 2015 (in no particular order) - I mixed them in a way that was sonically, lyrically & musically cohesive. Definitely my favorite Top 20 so far, as each track is special and holds a memorable place on our dance floor this year. I can't feel my face when I'm with you...

I don't why I love that line. Maybe it's the way The Weekend sings it. Or maybe it's the melody. But all I know is when I heard "Can't Feel My Face," I knew I had to remix it. I could hear the whole thing in my head and how I wanted it to sound.

On Saturday, June 28, at approximately 1 am in the morning, the start of the gay rights revolution took place in a small gay bar in New York City called the Stonewall Inn. The tale of the Stonewall Riots is one of the first you learn when you "come out," or decide to live your life for yourself. And to this day, we celebrate every year on this weekend to mark the occasion when we, as a gay community, will also stand together and live the only true life we know. Out, Loud & Proud!!!

When making this podcast, I thought a lot about that time in history and how in love with New York I am, not just for that monumental moment, but the way I feel alive here in the big apple like I never have anywhere else. I also have friends here that are family to me and we'll be there for each other for our whole lives, no matter what. I feel so strongly about the bonds we make with our friends when we're gay, I wrote a song about it. It's called "You Are My Family" and features vocals by the legendary Inaya Day (".. i take my problems to the dance floor.. - A CLASSIC!!) I close my podcast with this song we're both so proud of it - hopefully you'll take into your heart as well. This is a new extended remix of my original version with some added elements.. Better late than never right? I think you'll like this mix as I've included a bunch of mixes of some of your favorite songs that you haven't heard before, all tightly mixed into a 90 minute set.
