The Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology, Inc. (CBIC) is a voluntary autonomous multidisciplinary board that provides direction for and administers the certification process for professionals in infection control and applied epidemiology. The mission of CBIC is to provide pathways to assess and maintain infection prevention competency.
CBIC is joined by Luz Caicedo, the host and founder of the Florida HAI CIC Study Group, and Patty Montgomery, facilitator of the Washington State CIC Study Group. Together, these two women represent a growing trend in the CIC community: virtual learning. In this episode, Luz and Patty discuss the origin and incredible growth of their respective study groups, what being a CIC means to them, and how they tackle running study groups on top of their own full-time jobs.
