NewSong Foundations Episode 12 — Nuts and Bolts: This is our most practical vision-casting session, with Chris and Tiffany sharing hands-on pragmatic answers to such questions as:* What is expected of you as a leader? * What do our weekly gatherings look like? * What are some of our critical priorities? * What does our culture look like?
Tips, strategies and tools for discipline… that’s the focus of this final session in parenting 101, including topics such as evaluating the difference between childishness and foolishness, how and when to bring discipline, warnings vs threats vs grace, bribes vs goal incentives, and more. This final session is lengthy because it also includes a helpful Q&A session covering topics such as how to deal with friends who are not in agreement, and where Christians should or should not be raising their kids. Prophecy 102 builds on the foundation of the introduction to prophecy (101) with a challenge to grow in maturity in this gift. Moving us beyond simple words of encouragement and into greater specificity, the teaching introduces practical tools and concepts to help us more readily hear and convey the Father’s heart of love for those along our path.
This teaching is for beginner worship leaders desiring to lead at NewSong. With a focus on yielding to the Holy Spirit and lingering, it provides practical tools to prepare you for our worship environment. In this context, “beginner” means you are capable with your instrument and have little to no experience leading a group of any size.
Prophecy 101 is an introductory, Biblically-based teaching which addresses many basic questions such as “what is the gift of prophecy,” “how is it used” and “who is it for.” With a focus on grasping the purpose of prophecy, this teaching will help demystify this spiritual gift and motivate you to “earnestly desire” it.
If you are an experienced worship leader interested in leading at NewSong, this episode is for you. With a focus on unlearning, it also provides training and tools to prepare you for our worship environment. In this context, "experienced" means you are advanced with your instrument and have years of experience leading large groups in worship.
