Your voice is more powerful than you think.
This message isn’t just for dads, but it might challenge a few of us to stop weaponizing the silent treatment and start loving people like we actually want them in our lives. 😬
If you’ve ever struggled to connect with your kid, your spouse, your dad—or God—this one's for you.
Is God your sugar daddy in the sky? Your cosmic Uber driver who exists to make your life comfortable—as long as you keep Him happy?
Kemper Crabb, our Head Elder at NewChurch, preached a mind-bending, soul-stretching Pentecost sermon that tackles Job, suffering, and that creepy 70s song “Vehicle”… and somehow ties it all together with spiritual warfare and the church’s high calling to glorify God in pain.
This one isn’t your feel-good, self-help Jesus talk. It’s deeper, truer, and might explain why life has been hitting you so hard lately.
🛑 If you’ve ever thought “I’ve done everything right—why am I still suffering?” — you need to hear this.

🎙️ This week’s sermon was preached by Angel Hart. That’s right—Pastor’s kid, fresh off graduating college and on his way to seminary, got up and gave the message at NewChurch.
So if you’ve ever wondered what it would sound like if Pastor Frank was younger, and more emotionally intelligent… you should probably give this one a listen. 😏
He tackles what it means to love God with all your heart—yes, including your messy, ridiculous, over-the-top emotions. Sadness, joy, rage, nerf darts to the face—it’s all in there. And it might just help you worship God better with your whole self.
💡You might laugh. You might cry. You might even question your relationship with dodgeballs.
🎧 Give it a listen. #ProudDadMoment
🍦 “It’s not gluttony if it’s Blue Bell.” 🛑 False. Also—nice try.
This week we’re talking about the sneaky ways we justify our sin—especially the ones that feel totally normal (like sexual sin, cohabitation, and... queso addiction). It’s a sermon about tape, temple prostitutes, blood sausage, and why God’s design for sex is more than just outdated rules.
👀 Come ready to be slightly offended, deeply encouraged, and reminded that Jesus is way better at justifying you than you are.

This week, we’re tackling the entire book of Galatians in one message—yep, the whole thing. Six chapters. One sermon. No pressure.
It’s the first time we’ve done a Making Sense of the Bible message from the New Testament, and Galatians does not hold back. Paul is spicy. The Gospel is clear. And the bottom line? Jesus plus nothing.
If you’ve ever felt like being a Christian was about jumping through hoops or keeping it all together—this is for you.

Please… for the sake of humanity… listen to this message.
I’m serious.
If we don’t figure out how to talk with each other—how to deal with conflict without setting everything on fire—then we’re just going to keep ruining Thanksgiving dinners, blowing up text threads, and unfollowing each other over pineapple pizza and politics.
We are living in the golden age of misunderstanding. Everyone is offended. Everyone is defensive. And nobody listens. We argue with strangers online, ghost our friends, and say things like, “I’m just speaking my truth,” which is often code for “I’m about to say something terrible and not take responsibility for it.”
But what if I told you the way out of this mess might just be hidden in something we should have learned from our moms?
What if validation—real, humble, Christ-centered validation—is the secret sauce for every relationship?
Not just for parenting. But for marriages. Friendships. Coworkers. And yes… even your enemies. Especially your enemies.
So yeah. For the sake of your family, your faith, and maybe even humanity itself—stick with me.
Because this message might just change the way you love people. And it all starts when your kid brings home a freaky girlfriend…
Some stories are too heavy to carry alone. This is one of them.
In this Good Friday message, Pastor Frank walks us through four acts of the crucifixion—through the eyes of Scripture, the sound of nails being driven, and the haunting beauty of grace that doesn’t make sense.
Jesus didn’t just die for us—He died instead of us. And somehow, mysteriously, we died with Him. The pain, the shame, the secret things we carry—they’re not ignored. They’re nailed to the cross, burned away, and buried with Christ.
This isn’t about guilt. It’s about surrender. It’s about walking away from the cross knowing: the debt is paid, the record is canceled, and the only thing left is the nail... and the grace.
🕯️ Join us as we reflect on what it means to be Crucified With Christ—and what it means to walk away free.

Before the first Easter, there was no such thing as a happy ending. Every story ended the same way—death, loss, heartbreak. But then Jesus rose from the dead… and everything changed.
In this joyful and thought-provoking Easter message, Pastor Frank Hart explores how the resurrection of Jesus turned tragedy into triumph and gave humanity something it never had before—real hope. With humor, history, and Gospel truth, this sermon invites skeptics, believers, and everyone in between to consider what it means that Jesus really did rise from the grave.
Why do you seek the living among the dead? He is not here—He is risen. Come hear the greatest plot twist in history—and what it means for your story today.

Most of us are watching life from the sidelines—scared to jump in, unsure if we belong. But Jesus didn’t come to be admired from a distance. He came to be followed.

Do Christians just pick and choose what Bible verses they like?
Like, why do we still care what Leviticus says about sex—but ignore the stuff about bacon, tattoos, or polyester blends? Isn’t that just religious hypocrisy with a side of shrimp cocktail?
👀 In this message, we’re going to tackle one of the biggest accusations against Christianity: inconsistency. And we’ll do it by looking at how the early church dealt with the same exact issue in Acts 15.
🎯 Spoiler: We’re not picking and choosing. We’re rightly dividing the Word of God—just like Jesus and the Apostles taught us.
This one’s funny, thought-provoking, and packed with truth that will deepen your faith and help you answer real questions.

What if people thought you were a god? In Acts 14, Paul and Barnabas perform a miracle—and the crowd tries to worship them. It's tempting to enjoy the spotlight, but they tear their clothes and point to Jesus instead.

Ever had a conversation that seemed to be going great—until suddenly you’re the bad guy? 😳
That’s exactly what happened to Paul and Barnabas in Acts 14. They were preaching the Gospel, people were believing... and then a mob tried to kill them. So, should they stay or should they go?
This message is about what to do when sharing your faith gets awkward, rejected, or downright dangerous—and how to trust God with the results. 💬🔥

Have you ever hesitated to speak up because you weren’t sure how people would react? Maybe you had the perfect comeback five minutes too late, or you thought of the right words after the conversation was already over.
What about when it comes to talking about your faith? Ever felt that moment of panic—What if I don’t say it right? What if they ask me something I don’t know? What if I make things weird?
We hesitate. We second-guess. We tell ourselves, Someone else will bring it up. Someone who knows more, someone who’s better at this. And we keep our faith quiet.
But what if we’re afraid of the wrong thing?
Today, we’re going to look at Acts 13, where Paul and Barnabas show us what it means to boldly share the Gospel—even when it’s uncomfortable, even when people don’t want to hear it, even when there’s opposition. We’ll see how they didn’t let fear stop them, how they shook off rejection and kept moving forward, and why we need to stop making evangelism about us—our comfort, our reputation—and start trusting God with the results.
Because at the end of the day, the real danger isn’t that people might reject us—the real danger is that they never hear about Jesus at all.

We like to think we’ve carefully chosen what we believe—that we’ve weighed the evidence, considered the options, and landed on our opinions deliberately. But what if we’re just sticky cheeseballs rolling through life, collecting random opinions, cultural trends, and half-baked ideas without ever questioning if they’re actually true?
What if truth isn’t something we invent—but something revealed to us by God?
This Sunday, we’re diving into Acts 13, where Paul lays out how God has been revealing truth throughout history—culminating in Jesus. If you’ve ever wondered what’s really true (or if you just like a good cheeseball analogy), this message is for you.

Have you ever tried to do exactly what God wanted you to do—only to run into obstacle after obstacle? You finally commit to growing in your faith, sharing the Gospel, or stepping into what God is calling you to do… and suddenly, everything seems to push back.
Yeah. That’s not a coincidence.
In today’s message, we’re diving into Acts 13:1-12, where Paul and Barnabas are sent by the Holy Spirit on their first missionary journey—only to immediately run into opposition. But here’s the thing: the Gospel is unstoppable. No amount of resistance can stand against what God is doing.
We’re going to talk about what that means for us today—how we can recognize spiritual opposition, stand firm in our calling, and trust that God always finishes what He starts.
I’d love for you to listen and engage with this message. And if it speaks to you, share it with someone who needs encouragement. Let’s grow in faith together.

Life doesn’t always go the way we expect. Sometimes, we get blindsided—by loss, by disappointment, by things we never saw coming. So what do we do when life hits hard? Where do we turn when the weight feels unbearable?
In this message, we’re going to talk about God’s presence in our hardest moments, His power over the chaos, and His promises that hold us steady, even when everything else feels uncertain.

Have you ever felt like you’re just bad at prayer? Like you don’t know the right words, or you’re not sure if you’re even doing it “right”? Maybe you start to pray and suddenly remember you need to buy milk—or worse, you fall asleep before you get past “Dear God…”
You’re not alone.
Prayer is one of those things we know we should do, but most of us wrestle with it. We overcomplicate it. We wonder if God is really listening. And sometimes, we just don’t make the time.
But what if prayer wasn’t about finding the perfect words or saying the right things? What if it was about something much simpler—just being with God?
In this message, we’re going to take a fresh look at what prayer actually is, why it matters, and how we can start praying in a way that feels more natural, more real, and—believe it or not—more life-giving.

As we celebrate moving into our new worship space, we reflect on the importance of inviting God to build our house and give meaning to our efforts.
Join us as we recount the journey from meeting in a paintball event center to this new sanctuary, recognizing God's provision and guidance every step of the way. Learn how Psalm 127 and the New Testament answer the existential questions of life's meaning and purpose:

"Next time someone says something dumb about how they don’t think they have to go to church to be a Christian, please remember these things. We are members of the body of Christ, if we don’t assemble as the church, in a church, to have church—we are dismembering ourselves. And dismembered body parts are gross."
"We're here to worship God and love people, not feel God and like people. No one ever said you had to feel close to God at church. Church isn’t about how you feel, it’s about worship and fellowship. It’s about being challenged to grow in our faith and comforted with the promises of the Gospel."
A dive into Acts 5:12-16, where we see the early church experiencing incredible signs and wonders. Join us as we explore the themes of healing, faith, and the bold witness of the apostles. We'll uncover how God's power was at work through the apostles and how these miraculous events continue to speak to us today.
Main Points:
The Power of the Holy Spirit: Discover how the apostles performed many signs and wonders, demonstrating the Holy Spirit's power. Community and Fellowship: Learn about the importance of gathering together as believers, just like the early church in Solomon's Colonnade. Faith and Growth: See how more and more people believed in the Lord and were added to the number of believers. Healing and Miracles: Marvel at the miraculous healings that took place, even by Peter’s shadow.
Application: We'll also discuss how these themes provide both comfort and challenge in our lives today. Whether you're seeking healing, longing for community, or wanting to grow in your faith, this message is for you. Let’s explore how we can live out our faith boldly and trust in God’s power in every area of our lives.

Drawing parallels to Bonhoeffer's courageous stand against Hitler, this message challenges us to examine our own lives. Are we listening to God rather than the voices of doubt and fear? Are we living out our faith boldly, with love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control?

The "Eagle Face" sermon concluded the "Four Faces of Worship" series by delving into the symbolism of the eagle in worship.
The message began with a humorous reflection on how we often worship the wrong things, turning good things into idols that ultimately lead to our destruction. The sermon highlighted that worship is not optional; we are created to worship, and the only question is what we will worship. The eagle, a symbol of vision and soaring faith, reminds us that true worship involves trusting in God's strength and relying on His promises.
The sermon also touched on the importance of worship in shaping our lives and culture, drawing on Luther's ideas about the centrality of God's Word and music in worship.
The message concluded with a call to keep our eyes focused on God, reminding us that worship is a response to God's actions and is integral to our identity as His people.

Philippians 2:5-9 encourages us to emulate Christ's humility and obedience, serving others as He served us. We are called to be a royal priesthood, actively involved in ministry, and to give generously as part of our worship. The message concludes with a call to respond to Jesus' sacrifice with quiet strength, faithful obedience, and humble faith, continuing the worship beyond the church service into our daily lives.

A description of Christmas at the Hart house in 1971, the first year Pastor Frank had a new step dad—and his mom had a little money.
A confession that he wants Christmas to be perfect but is always tempted to ruin it with selfish emotions and being too irritable.
A solid plan for how to approach holiday expectations with the wisdom of Jesus.
Colossians 3:12-14: "Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity."
"People seem to view God as either a mighty and powerful terrifying being who must be feared and reverently respected—or as gentle Jesus, meek and mild, a hippy shepherd philosopher who couldn’t hurt a fly.
But He is both. He’s always both."
"The difference between a wise person and a fool boils down to whether talking to them helps or not. A wise person can hear what you tell them, see the error of their ways, and change. A fool doesn’t listen, won’t listen, and doesn’t learn without consequences. Talking with a fool is a waste of time, they’re just waiting for you to stop talking so they can get back to their foolishness."
"It’s my hope that you can hear what I’m saying today, I mean really hear it, not like a fool who’s just waiting for the preacher to stop talking—but as a wise person who will listen and let what they hear make a difference."
"Comfort, comfort for my people. Prepare the way for the King. The Messiah. So powerful, but so gentle. Almighty God came to earth but He came as the Good Shepherd. He came to find you and pick you up—carry you back home where you belong."

First Sunday in ADVENT.
"Don’t you ever think, “Good grief, Lord! Can’t you see what’s going on down here? The way people are acting? Do you get MSNBC in heaven? Do You see the way they mock Your name and Your people?"
"This passage has a very interesting movement to it: It starts with a prayer for God to come down here and destroy our enemies, then behold, we realize we would also be destroyed because we are also sinners, then it ends in a surprising glimpse of Jesus—Behold! Courtroom drama retelling of Jesus on trial. Are you a yappy religious know-it-all who thinks you understand why Jesus is not the divine Son of God who commands your attention? Or are you Barabbas. Those are the only two choices. Jesus is still on trial today in our culture—for the same reasons. He's call you to be a witness, to testify, what kind of witness are you going to be? Tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.

The Lord's Prayer—66 words in English. But the actual prayer is even shorter, 57 words in Greek. Most of us don’t really pray like this, unless we’re just reciting the Lord’s Prayer. We use a lot more words. We don’t feel like we “really” prayed if we keep it that brief. I’ve come to understand that the Lord’s Prayer can be prayed in basically three ways. As a petition, as the Law, and as the Gospel. Petition meaning asking for things, Law meaning what God told us to do, commandments, and then Gospel—what Jesus has done and continues to do for us.
God will always answer your prayers. Sometimes the answer is maybe later, sometimes it’s no—but He always answers.
Jesus said, “Pray like this: Our Father.” This is Jesus sharing His Father with us—it’s Jesus talking and He says. “When you pray, from now on call Him what I call Him—from now on you’re my brothers and sisters, so just call Him “Father,” like I do. Ever had a friend you were so close to you called their father dad? You do now.
So, mix it up. Pray asking for what you need. Then maybe meditate on what God wants you to do with your life. And sometimes, just bask in the joy of everything you have to be thankful for.

"Someone has a different idea about one of your favorite theological nit picks! Surely you can’t let that just exist out there uncorrected!"
"Jesus asks for the third time, “Do you love me, Simon?” He’s not asking how Peter feels about Him. Love isn’t a feeling, it’s a commitment, it’s how you treat someone—it’s your actions toward them and about them."
"Three denials. Three affirmations. This wasn’t penance, this was kindness. Mercy."
"You’re forgiven because Christ forgives you. Do you feel the weight being lifted off you? No more guilt. No more condemnation. You are free. Do you feel it? Maybe you do, maybe you don’t. It doesn’t matter. Forgiveness isn’t a feeling either. Like God’s love, like His mercy, it’s something He does for you."

Do you ever feel anxious? Worried? Is it a sin? Is it a lack of faith? Was it a sin when Jesus was so anxious in the Garden of Gethsemane that He sweat blood? (Of course not.) It's not a sin to be anxious. When Jesus tells us not to worry, that's a word of comfort, not a word of law and condemnation.
Also, did Jesus tell His followers to carry a weapon?

If you've ever wondered what the big deal about Communion is...
This is how Jesus saves the world with bread and wine.
"The God who spoke the universe into existence is the One who said, “This bread is my body given for you. This cup poured out for you is the new covenant in my blood.” Is my body, is my blood. Is means is. We take Jesus at His word. It's a miracle. It’s a mystery."
The blood of the Passover Lamb has to be applied if the person is going to be saved—this is how Jesus makes His body and blood present to save His people.
When you eat the bread and drink the wine, Jesus has made this miracle so you also receive His body and blood. It’s how grace is given to you. It’s how forgiveness of sin is applied to you.
'Not symbolically. It happens miraculously. It happens for real. We call it “Real Presence.” Because Jesus has spoken, it’s as real as the blood that was on the door frames of those houses in the first Passover. We make no attempt to explain how it happens. It’s not transubstantiation, it’s not consubstantiation, it’s not symbolic, not a memorial. It just is. We take Jesus at His word. Would you rather it was actual cannibalism? Of course not. Embrace the mystery.'
"The Last Supper is really four meals layered on top of each other. It’s the last Old Testament Passover meal. It’s the first New Testament Lord’s Supper. It’s what every Holy Communion celebrated throughout the church looks back to in remembrance. And it’s a glimpse of the future heavenly feast at the end of time when Christ returns in glory and we all sit down to the Marriage Supper of the Lamb."
"The gift of His body and blood—given for us on the cross, and given to us in the bread and wine."
"To partake in this meal, to accept the cup and drink it is to accept Jesus’ suffering and death as the atoning sacrifice for your sins. Not automatically, there has to be faith, has to be trust—you have to believe the promise Jesus made to you, that it’s for you. But it doesn’t take much faith—just enough to lift that bread to your mouth and the wine to your lips—the smallest amount will do."
“What’s the point of this (New)Church thing? Why does it matter?”
" I want to propose something completely nuts. Something totally off-menu.”
"Every church thinks they have the corner on the truth, like they’re the only ones who really know Jesus. Can we not be like that, please?"
"It’s so sad to me when someone says, “Nah, I already tried that Jesus thing and it didn’t work for me. I went to church for a while. Wasn’t my thing.”
"They met some church people but they didn’t meet Jesus. I don’t want that to happen here. Can we make sure that doesn’t happen here?"
"No one follows Jesus alone."
"As the church goes, so goes our culture. And for many people, church has already gone."
"Your faith doesn’t really become your own until you share it with someone else. You have to share your faith. And you have to let people share their faith with you."
"This is the vision of NewChurch. A way to worship God and love people. I hope you’re starting to see it."

"One of Jesus’ Twelve disciples is bodily possessed by Satan himself. How in the world did that happen? How can a follower of Jesus be possessed by the devil?"
"When we give in to the same temptations, doing the same sins—habitual sins—we invite demons as sure as leaving food outside attracts flies. "
"Giving in to your favorite sins is like putting handles on your soul so the devil can really get a good grip on you."
"I don’t want you to doubt your salvation. There’s a big difference between giving into temptation followed by repentance—and deliberately continuing to embrace sin. The life of a Christian is a life of being sorry for your sin and returning to grace. But it’s not trying to hide your sin, cover it up and trying to get away with it. If you confess your sin, Jesus is always faithful to forgive."
"I don’t know what your favorite sins are but I know you need to confess them, say what they are, admit to them, turn away from them, and return to the promise of God’s grace, mercy, and forgiveness. "

Are we looking forward to that day? Or dreading it—the end of the world?
"The only ones who are going to be delivered from the wrath of God at the end of the world are the people who trust in Jesus to save them."
"How can we talk about how good God is, how God is love, if He’s going to be like that? What’s so good about a God who destroys the wicked?"
"If we think God’s judgment of the world is immoral, if we think it’s not good—then what are we saying? That we’d rather that evil triumphs?"
"I would make a terrible god."
"What is it that if it was taken away, you’d think it was the end of the world?"

It’s going to be cataclysmic. Horrifying. Nightmarish. This is why Jesus told us in advance.
When the obvious end of the world starts to happen, everything is going completely bonkers, and you see Jesus coming down from heaven—try to remember what He told us to do. It’s just three simple things: Stand up straight, raise your heads and look at Him, and thank God your salvation is here! Can you remember that? It’s going to be counterintuitive.

Sometimes, if we want to live, we have to give up something that’s killing us. We’ll almost never want to do it. Jesus says this is why it's impossible for rich people to enter the kingdom of God.

People often try to deceive others and hide their true actions, but when the truth is exposed, it can cause anger and outrage. This can be seen in various situations, such as social media personalities promoting products they have never used, politicians going against their campaign promises, athletes cheating with performance-enhancing drugs, preachers committing the sins they preach against, and individuals putting on a show of devoutness while making everyone miserable at home. The truth can expose insecurities and self-delusion, leading to anger and frustration.
God's Law defines sin and guides us on how to live our lives, but we all fall short and make mistakes, which is called sin. It is a fatal error that cannot be ignored or excused. However, through the Gospel, Jesus forgives our sins and justifies us before God, defining us by who we are in Christ, rather than by our failures or successes. The Law shows us the standard, and the Gospel offers forgiveness and salvation.

This is a story about two lost sons. Which one do you relate to the most?
I think we all start off as the prodigal son. We make a mess of our lives (“Reckless living.” “extravagant.” Wasteful with everything God gave us.) then we come back to the Father, and find out how merciful and forgiving He is with us—He takes us back no matter what we’ve done and we just stand in His presence interrupted by grace, thankful for His kindness and generosity. Fully restored.
But then, after just a short time, too many of us become like the older brother.
Disown your heavenly Father at your own risk. Raise your fist to heaven and say, “I’m sick of You, I’m sick of Your church, I’m sick of your rules, I’m sick of waiting to die before I can have all those good things You’ve promised me in heaven!” If you live like there is no God, ignore His wisdom, selfishly grasp for wealth and pleasure recklessly—find out where that gets you.
Well, our prodigal punk had sunk as low as he was going to go. He came to himself—came to his senses. This is his story and it directly affects all of us.
You will be interrupted by grace.

If God filled up your church with people who looked like nasty sinners to you—the wrong kind of people—who would those people be? What do they look like?
We always seem to think “repent” is something we have to do in order for Jesus to save us. I want to challenge that a little.
What did the sheep do to repent? Nothing. What did the coin do to repent? Coins can't do much.
The church has done a terrific job of letting the lost know they aren’t really welcome. Not until they repent. Not until they’re where they should be. Not until they change.
Not until they find their own way out of the lake.
That’s not how grace works. Grace jumps in and pulls you out of the water.

Jesus teaches us about the importance of humility, generosity, and not making everything about ourselves. He reminds us that true joy is not found when we selfishly grasp for pleasure but by our willingness to serve others and honor God. A humble party rather than a pity party.

We’re on dangerous ground when we stand outside the church and say what Jesus does in here is evil. Saying the work of Jesus when His people gather is the work of the devil. It is really close to committing the unforgivable sin.

Jesus says follow Him instead of your heart.
Look to Him instead of inside yourself.
You don’t “do you,” you deny you. You crucify you.
Everyone who follows Jesus has to deny themselves, take up their cross, lay down their life—kill it. Lose it. It’s the only way they’ll be able to save their life.
What the heck does all that mean?
This is what it means to follow Jesus. To be Christian you have to crucify yourself. All those passions and desires have to die. Your sin has to die. Your sins aren’t going to drag you to hell anymore because Jesus forgives you and died for them but if you keep doing them, you’re going to drag hell into your life now.

It seems to me when God blesses something for His use, the first thing He always does is break it. When you take your plans to Him and ask Him to bless them—get ready. The first thing He’s going to do is break them. And that will be a good thing.
Sometimes the truth will thin the herd. Don’t ever water down God’s Word to make it easy to swallow. Don’t beat them over the head with it either. They’ll come back when they get hungry again. Trust that God knows what He’s doing.

You're probably all dug in on which candidate you're going to vote for (or have already voted for). You want to know how to vote like a Christian, though? Listen up.
God calls His people to make a difference in the city, state, and nation where they live. God judges nations based on their leaders and their laws. Our faith must not be compartmentalized but must go with us into the voting booth.

Faith Vs Science. How We Can Know the Christian Faith is True, and Whether Jesus Really Existed or Not.
If you or someone you know has ever struggled with whether Christianity is true or not—you don't want to miss this one.
God has Hope for you here.
Pastor Frank talks about God not caring which religion you believe in, as long as you believe in something.
God has Hope for you here.
What can you say if someone thinks all Christians are hypocrites? Pastor Frank shows you how to defend your faith and make a simple defense move to the Gospel.
God has hope for you here.
When you’re asked to defend your faith, you have to be ready. And you have to be prepared to do it gently and respectfully.
Why is it important? You need to realize it’s the only thing that’s important.

If you don’t delight in God’s Law, then you’ll be destroyed by the problems and sin in your life. Obeying God is not supposed to be a drag. Delighting in God's Commands is the only path to a happy life. Listen up, this one will make you glad.
God has Hope for you here.
What's the difference between when you keep the commandments and when you don't? Difference between a Christian and everyone else. Pastor Frank talks about what happened on the first day of the Ten Commandments.

Whatever you want—what you really, really want—matters. A lot. I'll also tell you the only cure for discontentment. You want to be happy and satisfied with your life? Well come on.

Kemper lays out the simple yet complex key to being able to tell true conspiracies from false conspiracies. "May you live in interesting times. We are swimming in conspiracy theories: Trump is a racist. Michelle Obama is actually a man. A secrete tribunal has replaced celebrities and leaders with clones. Bill Gates oversaw the genesis of COVID19. The government created AIDS to wipe out homosexuals. Many of our leaders are alien lizard people. Our society is systemically racist. (Some of these are likely true.)"
You will either know the truth by having faith in Jesus, or you will be ground to dust because of your unbelief. You should probably listen to this.

One big reason why our world is in the mess that it’s in is because we don’t trust anyone anymore. We don’t trust the media, we don’t trust the experts, we don’t trust our elected officials. The eighth commandment is “You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.” There's a lot wrapped up in this one. No lie.
This week we talk about the sexy commandment. Adultery. How to be a human being, it seems like too many people have forgotten.
Pastor Frank talks about all the times he's murdered people. It's a lot more than you might think. As a bonus, he'll also accuse you of terrible crimes and then offer you more grace than the world can stand.

First, a really interesting story about road rage and shame. Then, a bunch of interesting thoughts about the full implications of what "honor your father and your mother" means in all the areas of our lives. Sometimes in order to honor people, we have to wrestle with them and push them a little closer to what honorable really looks like. Of course eventually we get to how Jesus turns this into something amazing for all of us. Seriously, this is a good one to listen to with your kids. Or your boss, but that might be weird.

There’s not enough time. Not enough money. Then, as we get older—not enough energy. The world keeps going crazy. Life gets more and more insane all the time. God says We’ll get more done in 6 days than we will in 7 if we dedicate one of those days to Him. If we get together with the local church and remember the hope we have in Jesus. This is what church is, it’s resting in Jesus.
Yes, it’s a command. Yes, God is serious about it. But it’s a command to come to Jesus for rest. It’s a command that should sound really sweet to our ears.
The second commandment isn't so much about cursing and swearing, it's more about how we represent the name of the LORD. How we speak of God. We’re supposed to be the kind of people who fear and love God so much that His name sounds sweet on our lips. Lift up the name of the LORD, bless His holy name, give thanks to the LORD, for He is good, and His mercy endures forever.

This is how to be a human being. You just have to believe what Jesus has said about you. He said you shall be a particular kind of person. You shall have no other Gods. He also said that you’re forgiven. Believe that. This is a message about “shalls” (and it’s probably not what you think). This is what a Christian life shall look like.
There's a lot of talk about racism these days. What does the Bible have to say about it? There is good news for you if you listen to wisdom and don't act like a fool, or a victim, or a villain. Be slow to speak, quick to listen, and slow to get angry.
When we walk out the front door of our childhood home, how will we know how to get where we’re going? How do we even decide where we’re supposed to go? Transitions and how to navigate them. The world will tell you otherwise, but this book is sufficient. All the wisdom and hope you will ever need is found here.

Pentecost was weird but it's part of your story now if you're a follower of Jesus. There's a way to live that leads to life and a bunch of ways that lead to death. Everyone who calls on the name of the LORD will be saved.

What are the biggest obstacles to people believing in Jesus? I think there are two: If God is real then why is there so much pain and suffering in the world? And why do so many Christians act like jerks?
If we actually paid any attention to what Jesus told us, neither of these things would be a problem.

This COVID19 time-out that most people are doing right now is putting a lot of strange pressure on families. The most important gift we can give each other in this bizarro C19 world is to show some grace. This message is a timely look at Cain, Abel, and the importance of confession and absolution.

There might not be a more painful section of the Bible for the church than Romans 13:1-7. How are Christians supposed to respond to a government? What is government supposed to be for? What is government according to the Bible?

The story of two brothers, Jesus goes to the cross and dies. This is the Good Friday sermon.
A surprising description of one of the most provocative things Jesus ever did. Today we raise our palm branches on this Palm Sunday in defiance of any government that tries to oppress the people of God who are in Christ—in defiance of any evil or power or darkness or fear or virus that tries to crush our hope or steal our joy. We are not afraid. We do not grieve as those without hope, we do not worry like unbelievers.
Behold! We walk through the resurrection accounts and find out that not only is it the story of Jesus rising from the dead—it's your story now, too. Which means there's nothing to be afraid of anymore. That seems like good news.

Today we will consider "Where is God?" and compare the COVID-19 crisis to the worst zombie apocalypse ever. We'll even talk a little about the actual apocalypse and "Revelations." Eden, the Tree of Life and the Tree of death. God always locates His gifts somewhere in particular, and tells us where that is.

Holy is a word that gets a bad rap. We hear “God is holy” and we think that means He’s uptight. Stern. But “Holy” is a beautiful word... a word that’s full of hope and life and grace. God blessed the 7th day and called it holy, He has done the same to you. God's holiness is contagious.

There seems to be two kinds of people in how we react to the Coronavirus. Those who panic, and those who are angry.
How about if you take a little break from scrolling through your bad news feed and confirmation bias hunting, and listen to this message about what it’s supposed to mean to be a Christian—a person of faith—in these uncertain and confusing days of panic and anger.

More mind bending insights from the beginning of the Bible. What is the power of the Gospel? You’ve been given the same authority to go around saying, “Repent. Believe. Follow Jesus. Your sins are forgiven.”
“Trinity, Water & Light” sounds like a utilities power company. Trinity, Water, Light & Power. I think that’s right, because that’s what I’m talking about, power. LET THERE BE LIGHT!

How are Christians supposed to read the Scriptures? The NT is a divinely inspired commentary on the OT. It all point to Jesus—not us. What is the earliest reference to Jesus Christ in the Bible? You might need your mind blown pants for this one.

Everybody's always asking for prayer and saying they'll pray for each other. What's the point? Isn't God going to do what He's going to do anyway? Doesn't He already know what's best for us? Even if we do pray—what if we're doing it wrong? People always say "you best be careful what you pray for." What can we learn from Jesus about prayer? That seems like a good question to me.
