Do you want to build the business you’ve always dreamed about? Join Simon Duffy (Co Founder of Bulldog and Waken) and Eric Partaker as they discuss what it takes to launch a product and build a brand in today's environment. Take away tips and insights into how you yourself can join the path to achieving your goals.
KEY POINTS
You can start now - There's a certain mindset where people think they have to understand everything about a problem or a business opportunity before they make a start. You don't need to have all the answers before you start.
You don't need to be an expert - You don't need to be a domain expert in almost any part of what you're doing. You just have to believe that you can be good with people and you can collaborate your way to success, whether that's through building a great team or hiring great consultants and experts to support your vision.
The formula for success - Innovation is a combination of vision, opportunity and desire.
Think beyond the category - High interest products can perform very well in low interest categories of products.
Be Bold - Have the determination and the confidence to give something a go. You don't have to be an expert in the category to launch a brand.
Be Determined - And once you've given it that go, be determined. Have confidence in yourself. If you think you're seeing something that other people haven't seen yet, have the courage to have a crack at something entrepreneurial for a few years.

Action = Reward - You don’t get slim by buying a diet book, you get slim by actioning that book. If you want a big bank account, you’ve got to have a successful mindset. Professionals know that action creates feeling. Amateurs believe feeling creates action. Be the professional of your life and take action today.
Your Net Worth Is Your Network - Grow your network. Talk to as many people as possible in the position that you want to be in. Find out how they reached the position they are in today.
Begin With Research - Connections aren’t made by chance. If you want to get a conversation going with someone, research them, find out about them, their interests, their work and discover how you could benefit them.
You Don’t Know Me - Limit the confusion at the beginning of networking conversations. Begin the conversation with anybody you don’t know by putting them at ease and letting them know that they don't know you. Instantly they will feel more at ease rather than desperately trying to remember where they might know you from.
What Value Are You Offering? - When going into a conversation with someone, there needs to be a beneficial point to them. Approach every networking conversation with a solution, give them something of value that will benefit them, before you discuss your needs.
Focus On The Client - Stop looking at how good your website is, or how eloquent you are. Focus on the client. Discover the problems that they need solving and solve it for them.

We Rise By Lifting Others - To truly reach your full potential you need to help others self actualize. What could you be doing each day to help someone else in their journey to reach their full potential?
Create A Company That Cares - Create a company that goes beyond caring about how an employee is doing in their role. Care about their wellbeing, and teach them skills that may or may not be directly applicable to their role in the company. When you invest in people and not just as cogs in a machine, it elevates people to a whole new level.

Have you ever wondered what it takes to build a company as successful as Netflix? Join Marc Randolf (Co-founder and first CEO of Netflix, serial entrepreneur, author and speaker) and Eric Partaker as they discuss what it takes to create a billion dollar business, and discover tips and insights about how you can become part of the 2% of people reaching their full potential.
KEY POINTS
(Netflix &) Chill - You do not need to know where you’re going right away. Stumble around, and gather experiences until you end up in the right place. Don’t simply pick your dream job and fight like crazy to get it. Get your foot in the door and find out what people really do. What’s the vocabulary? How do they organise? Then you’ll have a better idea whether this is the right path for you.
You Can’t Predict The Future - Stop dreaming about what your company is going to become, because you’re almost inevitably wrong. You can't, it’s impossible. Companies have their own life. There's too many forks in the road to predict the path they will go. The more time you spend trying to figure it out you are simply stalling the process of actually learning where it wants to go.
Look Backwards - What went well? What didn't? Any insights? Leanings? What will I do in future directly as a result? Set yourself periodic goals. Review your progress and take that knowledge to perform better in the future.
People Who Start Companies Are Not Superhuman - If you have an idea, if you have a dream, try it. Stop thinking about it. Stop coming up with reasons why you can’t. Cleverness is figuring out a way to quickly, cheaply and easily start, so you can learn whether it's a good idea or not.
You Are Capable Of More Than You Know - Everything is solvable if you're willing to start and figure it out. Stop dreaming about it, or bumping into the first roadblock and turning away. Everything is possible if you believe in your ability to figure it out.

Do you spend all day working through your to-do list to then go to bed and feel like you’ve accomplished nothing? Join Tonya Dalton (Author, Business Coach, Podcaster, Speaker and founder of inkWELL Press Productivity co.) and Eric Partaker as they share tips and insights into how you can break free from the 98% and join the 2% of people reaching their full potential!
KEY POINTS
Pause For A Moment And Reflect! - When you look backwards, then can you start moving forwards. It is important to remind yourself of who you’ve been in the past, the good, the bad, the really ugly. All of that will help you find your purpose and grow you into the best version of yourself.
What Doesn't Kill You, Makes You Stronger - The hardest challenges in life cause the most growth. That is your most fertile ground. It’s when you peel back the bandages and allow the wounds to heal that you can really see the life that you have created.
Numbers Don't Define You!. - Whether it's the numbers of followers, the number in your bank account, or the number of likes you have on a post, you cannot let that define you. Constantly striving for numbers is exhausting, it's like chasing after a finish line that is constantly moving. You will never reach it.
Prioritise Your Priority List! - Get rid of your to-do list and start making a priority list. Your to do list is taking you everywhere but where you want to go. The problem with to do lists is your brain naturally wants the high from checking off your wins. So you check things off that aren't important, that are not priorities. So make a priority list. It is essentially a to-do list with intention.
Failing To Plan Is Planning To Fail - Spend 5 minutes a day mapping out what your days are going to look like. Create your priority list and prioritize what you want to get done that day and make sure it's attainable.
Work Hard, Rest Often - Periods of rest are not rewards for great work. They’re requirements for work to happen. Stress + Recovery = Growth. Take a break!
Adaptability Is The Secret To Survival! - Life happens. Some days are going to be easy, some days are going to be hard. Allow that to be ok.

Join Dave Sanderson (Speaker, Author of ‘How To Turn Turmoil Into Triumph’ and Survivor of the 2009 Hudson River Plane Crash) and Eric Parker as they discuss how to be bold in the face of uncertainty, and how anyone can succeed and triumph over adversity.
KEY POINTS
Everybody Has A Story - Judge people on the content of their character, not what you see. Don’t judge people until you know their backstory.
Every Adversity Has A Benefit - Stress builds strength. The problem isn't stress, the problem is how you view stress and deal with it. Don’t try and avoid it, embrace it because that is how you will level up in life and become a better version of yourself.
Triumph Over Adversity - If you’re going to have any triumph, you have to overcome some adversity. Everything worth having, comes with trials worth withstanding.
Your Ability To Succeed Is Related To Your Ability To Adapt - You can have a blueprint in life, but when life hits you, and your strategy goes out the window you need to be able to problem solve quickly. The people who are most resourceful and the ones who are thriving.
Be Bold In The Face Of Uncertainty - Strength does not come from winning, your struggles develop your strength. Real strength doesn't come from certainty, it comes from how you can handle uncertainty.
Who’s In Your Inner Circle? - Expand your network. Put yourself around outstanding people who will stretch you consistently every day. Are the 5 people around you right now keeping you in your comfort zone or pushing you to better yourself?

Do you have BIG dreams? Is the fear of failure holding you back? Join Brian Scudamore (Entrepreneur, Author and Founder of O2E Brands) and Eric Partaker as they dive into what it takes to reach your full potential and share tips on how you can succeed at life!
KEY POINTS
Dream Big, Live Bigger - Believe in possibility. Every dream starts with an idea. Dream big, work hard, never give up.
Failure Inspires Winners - The greatest barrier to success is the fear of failure. Failure is a gift. Not only do you learn how to deal with mistakes but it is a necessary ingredient in the recipes for success. Take the first step. Fail. Learn from that failure then take the second step towards success.
Persistence Is Key To Success- You can have just about anything you want in life, providing you're willing to go through 1000 nos. Collect your nos because yes lives in the land of no, eventually yes will appear, and success will materialise.
Giving Up Is The Only Sure Way To Fail - Set a goal of how many times you are going to fail this week. Imagine the gift of learning you will get from those failures. We all make mistakes, but it's how we learn from those errors in judgement and take steps to rectify the situations that show our true character. So much of failure is not understanding what the mistake was and why you made it.
Failure Is Not Fatal! - Don't let failure come as a shock to you. Expect it, and plan for it. By foreseeing failure and expecting mistakes to be made, you’ll reduce the negative emotional impact when it appears. Learn from it, pick yourself up and reflect.

How to Stop Being Tired All the Time // Do you want to stop being tired all the time, feel more energetic and feel great throughout your day? Getting better quality sleep is important, but if you want to truly feel great when you wake up, you have to change up your routine. In this video, peak performance expert and coach, Eric Partaker, provides some insights and tricks to not feel tired so you are ready to attack and pursue your goals, each and every day.

When You Embrace Stress, You Transform Fear Into Courage - Stress builds strength. Stress is not the issue, often it is your perception of stress that is the problem. Rather than avoiding stress, flip it around and realize that it's our perceptions which cause the problem.

Timeboxing: Elon Musk’s Time Management Method // Elon Musk is notoriously known for his insane work ethic, clocking around 80 to 100 hours per week. Want to know his time management secret? Timeboxing. Elon Musk's schedule is precisely planned and perfectly executed for incredible productivity, using an efficient time blocking method and relying on the fundamentals of Parkinson’s Law. In this video, peak performance expert and coach, Eric Partaker, explains Elon Musk’s daily schedule tool, so you can plan your day, get more done, stop procrastinating and reach your full potential.
KEY POINTS
What Is Timeboxing? - It Is the practice of setting a specific amount of time to work on tasks, then integrating those blocks of time into your schedule in your calendar.
What Is Parkinson's Law? - Work will expand to fill the time given for its completion. If you give yourself 3 hours to complete a task, you will take 3 hours. If you give yourself 3 days it will take 3 days. Think about this when setting time for tasks. Get more done in less time!
Think Proactively - At the start of each day look at each task you need to get done and assign an amount of time to complete it. Then hold yourself accountable to completing that task within the given time frame.
Give Yourself Buffer Time - When you complete a task for the first time set yourself a goal for how long you aim to take to complete it. Then add 20% - 30% extra to give yourself a buffer so you can develop an understanding of how long it takes to complete certain tasks.
Bunch Small Tasks Together - Don’t drip feed yourself lots of small tasks throughout the day. Group small activities together into a single block. Your efficiency when completing the tasks will greatly improve.
Do You Single Task? - Minimize your distractions and make sure notifications are turned off on various apps, and that your phone is out of sight. Ensure you are focusing only on the task at hand.

Eliminate Digital Distractions - Limit the times when you're using apps. Remove them from your phone, turn notifications off or schedule set times of the day to use them. Constantly engrossing yourself in apps, comparing yourself to others, and being constantly distracted, weakens the mind.

Be The Boss Of Food! - When you’re hungry, don't eat right away! This is an effective tool in practicing your ability to tolerate challenge. Use it as a way to develop your mental toughness.
Self-Talk Is Your Power - When challenging moments appear, practice the phrase ‘Bring It On!’ Step into the direction of stress. Embrace stress. Look forward to it!
Gratitude Is The Best Attitude - Make sure that you just take a moment to be grateful for the things that you do have. This awareness will help sustain you during the times when you feel like you have nothing to be grateful for.
Your Life Is 100% Your Responsibility! - Take full responsibility and ownership for your life. Whether or not you achieve your goals, your reactions to situations, and whether you showed up at your best. If you fall down, just stand right back up and go at it again.

Stop Wasting Your Life// Are you struggling on the path to becoming your best? Well, the reality is that in life not everyone reaches that pinnacle goal or state, due to the obstacles in their way. In this video, I will be providing some insights on how you can chase your dreams, become successful, achieve your most ambitious goals in life and become the best version of yourself. It’s time to stop wasting your life and follow the top tips for a high performance life, giving you the motivation to work on yourself and showing how you can beat self doubt fast.
Beware the Constricted Mind – A constricted mind keeps you in your comfort zone. Only by becoming uncomfortable, seeking discomfort, will you grow and achieve your best.
Plan and Schedule Your Future Success – If you are going to make your future life better than it is today, what needs to happen? What do you need to learn? Who are the people you need to meet? Once you have decided, schedule it into your calendar. What gets scheduled, gets done!
Process Failure Correctly – Failure is a path to learning. It provides you with valuable lessons that you need for the next time you try. Don’t look at failure as something to avoid, look at it as the valuable lessons that provide you with the tips, tricks and tools to achieve success.
Create Support Systems – If you want to reach your full potential you need to take a hard look at whether you have a support system in place in the form of other people. More importantly, are they the right people? Are they going to propel you to a higher level?
Beware the Doubters – There will always be doubters trying to hold you back. Secretly they are afraid that if you become something greater than what you currently are they will feel bad about themselves. It's not about you. Be careful who you pay attention to.
Subtract to Grow – What is the number one thing in your life right now that is not helping or contributing to your health, your longevity, or your peace of mind? If you subtract that, it is often the quickest way to become a better version of yourself.

KEY POINTS
Run Towards the Bull! – If people are looking to sell during a down market and it is a bit of a frenzy then maybe you should be looking to buy. Find the right opportunities to go against the grain and invest when it really matters.
Save Money, Secure Your Future – Put money away, save It! Make sure you have always got 20/30% of your money being put away for a tough time.
Everything is a Return in Investment! – Don’t waste time and energy in areas of your life that won’t give return on investment. This can be true in all areas of life, from financial, personal, and romantic.
What’s Holding You Back? – Limiting beliefs will hold you back. Take time to work out what limiting beliefs you possess, uncover the root of where it comes from and work to find a solution.
Climb Out the Safety Net! – Limiting beliefs that are taught to you generally come from a place of love. The person projecting them upon you does not want you to get hurt or experience some level of pain that they themselves have experienced. It's your job to figure out when these beliefs are holding you back and break free!
Work On It! – Identify the areas of your life that you need to work on, so that you can grow and become something more.
If Money Was No Object... – What would you do? If you could do anything in the world, what would be your purpose? If you desire a life of fulfillment, you must first discover what is going to make you happy.
Listen to the Signals! – Often, we get off track when working towards our goals. Most likely because we have got distracted and not listened to the signals along the way. Remove distractions until you reach your ultimate outcome.
Stop Hesitating! – Just take a giant step, and then learn from your experience and adjust. There is no such thing as failure as long as you’re learning.

Evening Routine – Reduce artificial light one hour before bedtime to increase melatonin before sleep. Turn off electronics to get a more restful deeper sleep.

This will include top tips for a high performance life, reaching your full potential in life, and how to achieve your most ambitious goals through overcoming challenges and self doubt.
Find Your Passion – There’s going to be tough points. If you are not passionate about what you do, if you don’t have a love for doing it, then you’re not going to be compelled to stick with it when things get tough.
Sacrifice Your Old Self – Take a pen, write down everything about your current self, all your beliefs, who you are, your limitations, your fears, dreams, goals. Then write about your new self, 5/10 years from now. How does this new self differ from you? Remind yourself of your new self and create goals to get there.
Demonstrate Your Best Self Daily – Think of yourself as the champion on the health, wealth, and relationship front. Set yourself a daily task of one thing you can do, a behavior or an action, which would show the world that you were being the best version of yourself in those three areas.
Positivity and Optimalism – Don’t approach each day with perfection. That will set you up for failure. Leave room for error and approach your day with positivity from the viewpoint of an optimalist, not a perfectionist.

KEY POINTS
No Man or Woman Ever Achieves Greatness on Their Own – If you are surrounded by great friends, the right people, a support of individuals to get you through something traumatic, they become your family. Surround yourself with the people who encourage you to be your best self.
Focus Determines Your Reality – Focus your attention on what you want, on your goals, on your dreams. Not the avoidance of what you do not want.

This Is Why You’re Not Happy// We all want to be happy, right? Live inspired and successful lives. But there are many things that will try to stop us when trying to find happiness. In this video you will learn about things you may be doing everyday that can steal your time and happiness. These life changing habits will help you live a happy life, showing you how to design your day for balance and how successful people increase their productivity while finding balance between work and personal life. Also, if you are feeling burned out, this video will stop you from being overwhelmed by everything and show some everyday tips and strategies for managing stress.
KEY POINTS
Technology Interruptions – Turn off your notifications when working. Avoid being constantly prompted by your applications to respond. This will help you feel more relaxed.
Undervalued Time – Stop giving it away! Put value on your time by making sure you are leaving enough time for yourself on the things that matter to you, not just to others.
Busyness is not a Status Symbol – Are you busy for the sake of being busy? Are you spending your time on what is going to generate results, or on what really matters to you?
Stop Procrastinating! – Change the language in your head. Instead of saying “I have to” or “I should” say “I choose to start for just five minutes.” When you feel in control you are less likely to want to procrastinate.
Manage your Meetings – Always have a common outcome in mind for the meeting. Don’t have a meeting for the sake of it. Having the common outcome will cause your meeting to be much more effective.
Unclear Goals – Break down your goals. Do you know what you should be doing in the next quarter (13 weeks)? View each week as a sprint. You have 13 attempts to make progress to your goal.
Personal Disorganization – Have a plan for every single day. The best way to create that plan is the end of the day before. What is going to make tomorrow a win for you? What needs to happen?

Ever wondered how to be a successful Entrepreneur without starting at the bottom? Join Nick Bradley (Host of the UK’s #1 business podcast, entrepreneur, investor, and 24 Successful Exits) and Eric Partaker in discovering a sneak peek into the world of acquisition entrepreneurs. Apply these tips and reach your full potential!
KEY POINTS
Follow Your Own Path – Don’t let the people around you influence you into what they perceive as the safe option. If your goal is to get a job, get a job! If you strive to start your own company and work for yourself, do it! Do your own thing and let them watch you succeed.
Why Build Your Empire When You Can Buy It? – Consider becoming an acquisitions entrepreneur. Buy an existing profitable business instead of starting your own.
The Secret to Life is Flowing Not Forcing - Just because other high performers adopt certain habits does not mean you need to! Work out what is important to you, only then should you start to think about which habits and routines are going to enrich your life. Ask yourself, what puts you in your flow state? What gives you the energy and focus to be able to perform at your best?
Is Your Business Failing? – Three common reasons for business failure include leadership teams running out of ideas, bad cash management and lack of adaptability.
80/20 Principle – In business 20% of our efforts produce 80% of the result. Equally 20% of your life choices account for 80% of where you are in life.
Take a stand – Decide that you’re not going to fade into the crowd anymore. That you’re going to change your life and achieve your goals.
How Adaptable Is Your Identity? – The mindset of a successful person scaling up their business is vastly different to the start-up mindset. Learning how to evolve quickly to make that transition will determine how successful the business will be.
Optimize Your Health – View eating as intake of energy. Higher energy levels mean you can do more and be more. Ditch the nightly red wine and steak dinners and opt for something that will make you feel and perform at your best.

KEY POINTS
Prosperity is a Balance – Prosperity is multidimensional, you need money, happiness, and sustainability to really live up to the full measure or your creation.
How Self Reliant Are You? – Do you feel confident that you can always generate an income on your own? Find that avenue that you love, that means you never have to worry about money again, because you know you can create it.
What’s your Polaris Point? – Create a clear vision of where you want to go. Find out, and take time working on what you were born to do, and what you want to accomplish. When you die, what will you be remembered for?
Create your Own Goals – If you do not have your own goals, somebody else will use you for theirs. Take some time to yourself and write down what you want to accomplish in life and go do it!
You are Unique, Own It! – We all have a unique ability, discover what yours is, and develop it to be the very best!
Fall in Love with What You Do – If you want to become the best version of yourself, you need to love what you do. If you are grumpy at work, your energy will be low, and you will not achieve excellence.
Prioritize your Family – Ensure that you are putting your family and loved ones into your world, and into your joy. Schedule time to be fully present in their lives. The greatest joy and the greatest sorrow will come from the walls of your own home.
Change your mindset! – A huge limiting belief is that you must accumulate a lot of wealth to be successful and live in prosperity. However, knowledge and peace of mind are vital to maintain. Start with what you already have, be happy with that and grow it. Maintain the joy in your heart.

What if I told you, you could skip the line? Experience is no longer the key to success! Would you believe me? Join James Altucher (Hedge Fund Manager, Author, Podcaster and Entrepreneur) and Eric Partaker as they share tips on how to reach your full potential and discover how James became the successful Entrepreneur he is today.
KEY POINTS
Skip the line! – There will always be people who want to tell you ‘You can’t do it. You cannot skip the line. Stay in line, pay your dues. It’s not going to happen.’ When someone tells you this, they are imprinting their own goals on you, their truths, not yours.
Efficiency is the Answer – 1% of your focus could generate 50% of the benefits you seek in life. So be aware of yourself when you are doing something mindlessly, or you’re not optimizing your training and your study. Inefficiency is a waste of time.
The Power of 10 - Spend 20-30 minutes a day writing 10 ideas down. Exercise your idea muscle. Use this list to focus on businesses you could start or industries that could be disrupted and changed, or things in life that could be better.
Stress Creates Strength – Stress the muscle to cause it to grow. Put in the effort and work hard in order to level up.
Broadcast Your Ideas – Sharing ideas builds a network, people learn to trust you, people try your ideas. Don’t stress about people stealing your ideas. If you are exercising the power of 10, by tomorrow you will have 10 more ideas. Be abundant with ideas, as opposed to scarce.
Create the Room that Nobody Else is in – If you’re the only one, you are going to get known. Not only will you be noticed but with the skills that you are combining you might be the best in the world.
The Only Failure is Not Trying – Experiment with your ideas using these three rules. It should cost almost nothing, it should be very fast to do, and there should be little downside. In the worst case scenario, even if you do not succeed, you will still learn something. The upside is you could gain a huge business out of it.
Love What You Do – If part of your energy is used convincing yourself to try the idea, that’s energy inefficiency. If you love something, you can use that energy that would have been required to convince yourself to work harder on your idea and do it better.
Plus, Minus, Equals – PLUS: find yourself a mentor to learn about the top echelons of the industry. EQUALS: Find people who are like you, who are interested in your industry, and with whom you are roughly at the same level. Challenge each other and compare ideas. MINUS: Less is more. Learn how to teach and explain your ideas simply. If you cannot explain something simply, then you do not truly understand it.

How to Manage Your Time Better// Do you want to know how to achieve work life balance? Or show up at your best at work and at home? In this video you will learn how to be productive, set up a daily routine for success and the key strategies to living a balanced life. You will also learn how to stop being overwhelmed by everything, avoid burnout, strategies to change your life and how successful people install better habits for work life balance and improve their happiness. Better happiness and fulfilment can also be paired with methods to increase your productivity, as you learn how to manage your time better between work and personal life.
KEY POINTS
Prioritize Your Day – End your day prioritizing what you’re going to do the next day. Make it an appointment with yourself daily. Reflect on what happened today, update your to-do-list, and decide on the top three things that need to be achieved tomorrow.
Set Clear Goals – Having clear goals and achieving them makes us feel more fulfilled. Check in with your goals on a daily basis. What are they? Why am I doing them? Why are they important to me? What could I work on today that would help with my goal achievement?
Schedule Time to Rejuvenate And Recover – You cannot rev your engine at the highest level throughout the day every day. Eventually you’re going to burn out, be overwhelmed and create greater levels of anxiety for yourself. Schedule breaks throughout you day for downtime and set an end time to your workday.
Have Gratitude for What You Have – Too often we think about the things we don’t have. Take a moment each day to think about what you do have. What are your big wins? What is going well?
Learn to Say No! – Your time is a precious commodity; you can’t do everything. If somebody is making a request on your time, have the confidence to say, ‘I need to prioritize these other things in my work or in my life right now.’
Have Fun! – What is it that you enjoy doing? Schedule downtime into your week. Do some hobbies, watch your favourite movie. Just make sure you have fun!
Spend More Time with Loved Ones – If you’re not spending enough time with the people that matter most to you, it’s going to feel like your life has an imbalance. Schedule it into your week.

Do you often feel that there aren’t enough hours in the day? Are your goals being delayed because there simply isn’t enough time? Join Jeff Lerner (Founder and CEO of Entre Institute) and Eric Partaker in sharing useful tips to reach your full potential, change your life forever and lead you on the path to achieving your goals.
KEY POINTS
10 Minutes to Success – Maximise your time, make a game out of it. If you have 15 minutes before a meeting, 60 minute lunch break or a 20 minute drive, get as much meaningful stuff done as reasonably possible.
Make Work Matter – A lot of people have a false dichotomy in their mind that they are going to work in order to support the things that matter. For those people work will always be a constant sacrifice to fulfil what matters. Create a life where the work you do can be a part of what matters.
Accomplish the Unaccomplishable – If you push the drill long enough against the wall, eventually it will burst out the other side. Work like a maniac, and don’t give up. The only real failure is a mistake that you don’t learn from.
Gun to the Head – If you are half a million dollars in debt, and you have two years to pay it off or the federal government will seize everything you own, you will find a way. Create a target. If you have an uncomfortable consequence for not achieving your goals, motivation will no longer be an issue.
The Three P’s to Success – Professional excellence is only possible through first accomplishing physical and personal excellence. Take care of yourself, your battery and machinery that allows you to go out into the world and do anything. Then nurture your relationships. Work on your relationship with people who have direct impact on your life.
Structure is my Best Friend – Plan your life, have a solid structure. Keep momentum, increase your energy by being scripted and methodical. You can remove decision fatigue by reducing every decision you make on a daily basis.
Choose your hard – Nothing comes for free, it requires payment of some form. You can either pay now with the pain of discipline, or pay later with the pain of regret. The pain of discipline is always cheaper than the pain of regret.
Own it! – Lean into your weirdness, Lean into your differences. Whatever makes you less palatable and less conforming to the rest of the world. These are your strengths; they create a paradigm for your life.

Unless you prioritize well, you'll remain overwhelmed, frustrated, or just disappointed with your results. Here’s exactly how you can prioritize like a genius so you can get a lot more done.
KEY POINTS
Focus On The Outputs That Matter Most - Ask yourself “Out of all the things that I'm doing right now, what really matters the most?” You can't do everything, but if you really focus on what matters most you can get the right things done.
Create a Master Task List - Have one place where you keep all your notes, and one place where you keep your to-do-list. If you have post-It notes everywhere you’re going to lose track.

This episode will teach you three secrets to keep your motivation where it needs to be so that you can realize your full potential in work and life.
KEY POINTS
Flip The Script! - Focus on starting rather than finishing. If you just focus on starting, the finishing will take care of itself.
Act like a Professional - A professional knows that action generates feeling whereas an amateur believes feeling generates action.
Clearly Define the Value - Ask yourself, “What benefit does this goal have for me, what benefit does it have for others?” Clarity promotes motivation.
Use Evidence - Reference a similar challenge you or someone else faced as evidence that you can complete what you started.
Minimize impulsivity - Reduce your likelihood of being distracted. Remove the environment that distracts you, e.g. your phone or devices.
Minimize Delay - Break down your goal small enough so that you taste success sooner and stay motivated. If it's too far off in the distance, you are less likely to stay motivated in the long term.
Create Accountability - Not only with yourself but also with the help of others. Break down your goal into something that you can do daily and something you can track. Put it up on a wall and put an X in every single day that you do the activity that you are trying to stay motivated towards

Practice Single Tasking - Did you know that the average person loses 13 weeks a year, an entire calendar quarter, because they are not working on one thing at a time? Eliminate your distractions!

Get Some Sleep - A lot of people are not getting the recommended eight hours of sleep. It impacts their productivity. It impacts their ability to achieve their goal. Ultimately it impacts their ability to get to where they want to in life.
Pause! - When something happens that triggers the worst in you, do not respond right away. Pause between whatever is triggering you and responding so that you can choose the best response, the response that's congruent with who you are at your best.
Step into Difficult Conversations - It's not confidence that we need to have a difficult conversation. It's stepping into the difficult conversation that will build the confidence we seek.
Create Consistency - Working constantly at an 80% level is better than on occasion 100%, and then 60% or 50%.
Find an Expert - There are experts out there to help you in your quest to achieve whatever it is that you want. If you can develop the comfort to get out there and reach and connect to them, you can acquire the expertise that you need.

Today we're going to be talking about what makes a great leader, and all of these things are things that you can learn.
Number one, the key thing to becoming a great leader is to build what's called vulnerability based trust. People don't like working with someone who never makes a mistake, right?
The number two area that great leaders excel in is around decisiveness, so the ability to prioritize speed over precision and decision-making. It's much better to make a decision quickly, even if it's the wrong decision, than to sit there and deliberate in analysis paralysis and never move forward.
Number three area that is a hallmark for great leadership is around reliability. Great leaders do what they say they're going to do. If you're not building your personal integrity bank account by doing the things that you say you're going to do, you will not separate yourself from all the want to be great leaders.
Number four thing that great leaders do is that they are productive. They take the time to figure out what are the right things that they should be working on.
Number five, great leaders rally everyone behind a great vision. What is the vision that you could be using to inspire yourself and others?
Number six, great leaders then think about the strategy that's necessary to achieve that vision. How are you going to go about using what's unique about you or your group or whatever to achieve that vision?
Number seven is all about execution. We've got a great strategy. We need to execute. We actually need to get this stuff done.
Number eight, great leaders remember that they're managing or they're leading a team, not a family. There's a big difference between the two because families strive to stick together no matter what, whereas teams are optimized to win at all times.
Great leaders have difficult, tough conversations. They don't shy away from them. They step into them.
Number 10, great leaders mind the metrics. They make sure that everyone knows the metrics, the points, the things that are needed to win the game.
Number 11, great leaders practice anti-fragility. They recognize that stress actually builds strength. They step into discomfort.
Number 12, great leaders make bold moves. When things change, great leaders step into that change. Great leaders don't shy away.
Great leadership is not something that can't be learned. It is learnable. It's something I learned.

You have no chance of performing at a high level if you keep doing what you're doing. You have to change your approach. And that is a subject of today. What do high performers do differently?
So three things that high performers do differently. They are intentional, they're productive and they're anti-fragile.
Being more intentional is essentially respecting that behavior follows identity, and that we can choose our identities, and that we first start our journey of high performance of reaching our fullest potential by choosing who it is that we want to be.
The other thing that high performers do with regard to intentionality is that they don't let their feelings get in the way. High performers know that it's having intention about what they want to do, and having that intention drive action, which will generate the feelings they're after.
Second thing that high performers do is that they are productive. They have an evening routine to shut down their day.
They have a powerful morning routine. When they start out their next day, they don't start it just doing any old thing. They start it working on what was deemed to be most important the day before.
Another big productivity driver for high performers is they're very good at single tasking. Instead of jumping around to a myriad of different things, they focus, 30 minutes, 60 minutes at a time. And that leads to an incredibly high output, much, much higher than jumping around from one thing to the next, throughout the day.
Last but not least high performers are anti-fragile. They respect that stress builds strength. They step into discomfort rather than shying away from it. And they have an incredible ability to, when they're knocked down, stand quickly back up.

When someone says that they're a perfectionist, what they're really saying is that they are dominated by fear. They think perfectionism is somehow a good thing, but it actually just means they're afraid.
The other thing that they're afraid of is, they're afraid of failing. They're afraid that, "If I put my work out there and if it's not perfect, then I'm going to fail.
The act of completing something quicker is actually the best way to perfect it. By getting something out the door and in an imperfect state, you can get feedback on that and you can learn how to improve it.
The 80-20 Rule simply states that 20% of the effort will yield 80% of the results. Now what does a perfectionist try to do? They try to put in a hundred percent effort to get a hundred percent of the result.
By focusing on, "What's the 20% of effort that I could put in that would still yield 80% of the result," it's a perfect way to train yourself out of your perfectionism.
Things don't need to be perfect, they need to be good enough. And often what you think is the necessary standard for good enough, is nowhere near what someone actually needs. They need far less than what you're thinking.
Another super powerful technique or tool that you can use to overcome perfectionism, is a simple phrase that I use all the time. And it's just, "I choose to start for just five minutes." It helps you take action.
Starting takes just a moment, whereas finishing takes an indefinite amount of time.

Today we're talking about how you can tap into the power of personal responsibility so you can take things up a level in your business and life.
You can really up your personal responsibility game and change the results in your life by focusing on just three areas, deciding who you want to be in just three areas, your health, your wealth, and your relationships, and bringing some intentionality into those arenas because those are the three areas which demand our greatest responsibility in life.
The second thing that you can do which follows on from the first is a concept that I call champion proofs. Each and every day, I pick what's the one thing that I could be doing which, if done, proves that I'm stepping into the champion version of me.
Number three thing that I recommend you do to really tap into the power of personal responsibility and get your act together is become a single tasker. The average person is losing 13 weeks a year jumping around from task to task to task rather than staying with things long enough to actually get them done.
Number four thing that you can do to get your act together is turn pro. Make the decision to show up as a professional, not an amateur. An amateur thinks that feeling generates action. Professional flips that around. They know that action generates feeling.
Number five, the game isn’t about avoiding the knockdowns. The game is how quickly you can stand back up. If you really want to get your act together, stop worrying about the knockdowns.

Fear is something that grips us all. It's something that holds us all back.
If you've learned to be in a fearful state, you can unlearn that state. You can get yourself into a position to get around those fears and you know how to handle them so that they're not handling you.
And today that's what we're going to be talking about. So five things that can help you overcome any fears that you have.
The number one thing that you can do to help overcome fear begins in the mind. It's all about mindset. And specifically about you becoming comfortable stepping outside of your comfort zone.
The number two thing that you can do to help overcome fear is to think about similar experiences. If you can remember back to similar experiences, this helps you overcome fear by giving you evidence that you're capable of doing something like this.
Number three: enlist support. Reach out to friends, family, colleagues, anybody that you can ask for advice who's been through the experience that perhaps you're afraid of.
The number four thing that you can do to help overcome fear is publicly commit. Once you make a commitment to others, then it propels you, and necessity forces you to move forward, to step into that fear.
And the number five way that I've used most often to help me overcome fear is just to get into the habit of taking a bold action. On a daily basis, ask yourself, "What's one bold action that I can take today? Because if you get into that habit, that rhythm of taking bold action every single day, you will become more courageous and less fearful.

Whether you achieve all the things that you want to achieve in your life, or whether you don't will be strongly linked to your ability to stick to the habits that you know are doing you well.
This is about how you can introduce what are called triggers to increase your ability to stick to your habits.
All habits break down into a 3 part habit loop. And it basically starts with a trigger or you think of this as like the event that happens right before the behavior or the habit.
So you have something that triggers a habit and then you perform whatever that behavior is. And then there's an aspect of it called the reward, which is why you do the habit because you're seeking some kind of reward.
So with this in mind, we can design triggers. We can design events right before the habit that we'd like to be doing. We can design events, things that will happen, such that they remind us to do this new habit.

The reason you procrastinate is not what you think. You think it's something about you, as if you're broken but it's far easier and simpler to fix than that.
Out of all the stuff that I did with regard to improving my own procrastination tendencies, these were the three that delivered the biggest bang for the buck and I'm pretty confident they're going to do the same for you.
So the number one, most powerful thing that I learned behind the reason why I was procrastinating was simply how I was talking to myself. The moment you say I have to do something, or I should do something. I have to finish something. It just conjures up resistance.
When you say that you are choosing to do something, you're putting yourself in control, you're taking agency of the situation.
The second thing that contributed to my procrastination is not scheduling in my week things to look forward to. Knowing that I had something to look forward to, I found myself less likely to procrastinate because I knew that there was a light at the end of the tunnel.
The last thing I did to conquer my procrastination, to transform from a procrastinator to a producer, is all around timesheeting your day. I developed a hyper-awareness on where my time was going.

Today we're going to be talking about focus, how you can up your game, how you can stay more focused so that you can get the things done that you know you need to be doing, or that you would like to be doing.
So the number one thing that you can do to increase your ability to stay focused is set goals that inspire you. Who wants to be working on something that doesn't inspire them, right?
Number two, to help you stay focused is to create time in your schedule for whatever it is that you'd like to be focusing on.
Number three thing that you can do is, decide the day before what you want to be focusing on. If you decide those things the day before, you're able to start your day in a much more focused state, because you know what you're going to be doing and when you're going to be doing it.
Number four, you should get plenty of sleep. Studies clearly show that if you don't have the recommended eight hours of sleep, your ability to stay focused, tremendously diminishes.
Number five to help you stay focused: start your day with some exercise. When you spike your energy at the start of the day, it helps keep your energy higher throughout the day.
The number six technique that I use to help with focus is called centering, or you can refer to it as meditation. Whatever works for you to get you into a more relaxed state. Because when you're relaxed you will have the ability to stay focused for longer periods of time.
Number seven technique that I use to help stay focused is to start my day creatively rather than reactively. I encourage you to start your day, at least for that first hour doing something creative.
The eighth thing that you can do to help improve your ability to stay focused, is to take frequent breaks. When groups are put next to each other and one group has no break time at all, and the other group has frequent breaks throughout the day, the group with frequent breaks throughout the day, even though they're working less total time, they actually have a higher output than the group that didn't have breaks.

Have you ever wondered why certain people seem to be so full of happiness, so full of vibrancy? Well, there's some secrets to happiness that we can all learn.
Number one thing that you can do, I do this on a daily basis, is start your day engineered for happiness. And I do this with a simple phrase, I start my day saying, "Today is going to be a great day." It immediately puts a smile on my face, puts me in a positive mood.
Number two: A good happiness secret is to schedule guilt free leisure or hobby time in your week, time for yourself, time doing things that you know will make you happy. Make sure you're scheduling that guilt-free kind of free time in your week, and you'll generate a lot more happiness in your days.
Number three secret to generate more happiness is to think about your energy generators versus energy drainers. What are the people, places and activities in your life that give you energy versus drain you of energy?
Number four thing that you can be doing to generate more happiness in your life is to look after your health. Without our health, we're nothing. And if we actually invest in our health, it generates more happiness in our lives.
And number five, and this is perhaps the most important of all. To generate more happiness in your life, choose to be happy. And I know that might sound simplistic, but it really is a choice at the end of the day. No matter what happens to you, you can still choose to be upset or happy.

Have you ever wondered how incredibly successful people think? Because if you could start thinking in the same way, the sky's the limit. Today I'm going to share a set of principles that underpin the way incredibly successful people think.
Number one, the first thing that underpins the way incredibly successful people think is that they take a long-term view on their success. They are not looking for overnight success.
The number two principle that underpins how incredibly successful people think is that they think beyond themselves. "How can what I'm doing be of service to others? How might what I'm doing benefit the world?"
The number three thing that underpins how incredibly successful people think is that they take an 80/20 approach to their lives and to their businesses. They don't try to do absolutely everything. Instead, they look for, "What's the 20% of things that I could be doing that could create 80% of the results?
Number four. Incredibly successful people zero in on the 20% of things they could be doing for 80% of the results. And then they think, "How do I break down those goals?" Incredibly successful people always break down their goals into sub-goals.
Number five. Incredibly successful people realize that they can't get there or do whatever it is that they hope to do on their own. They know that they need to surround themselves with wisdom.
Number six. Incredibly successful people take action. They resist the temptation to overanalyze, overthink. And eventually if you take enough action, the results start to appear.
Then number seven, despite everything that I just said there, successful people expect the unexpected. Now, they don't know what that may be, but they expect that something may happen that they haven't planned for.
Your approach to learning does not work. You're taking way too long to learn all of the valuable skills that you need. Today I'm going to teach you 10 tips to learn all those valuable skills that you need a lot faster.
The first is to respect one of my favorite rules, the 80/20 principle. It simply states that 20% of causes create 80% of the effects.
Get into the habit of quizzing yourself. It's much more powerful than simply taking notes. So what that means is you get to the end of a chapter and before you immediately move on to the next chapter, just pause, pause for a moment and ask yourself, "What did I just learn? What were some of the core concepts, the core principles?"
The number three way that you can learn things much faster is to get into the habit of teaching or sharing what you learn. When we teach or share what we've learned with someone else we more deeply embed that learning within us.
Number four. Quit bad material, or quit things that aren't helping your learning. And I'll go back to the example of a book again. You don't simply need to complete the book because you started it.
Number five is a concept called space repetition. Space repetition is presenting what you've learned back to yourself in space intervals, with each interval increasing over time, because as you're learning the information, you don't need to refer back to it as much.
Number six, to learn faster you need to actually schedule learning into your day and week.
Number seven is taking advantage of the micro moments throughout your day. There's times where we're commuting or moving from one activity to the next or exercising, and those are all learning opportunities.
Number eight is to put some pressure on yourself, and you can do that in the form of looking for a certification or an official course that's tied once again to whatever it is that you're trying to learn. That kind of healthy pressure will force you to learn faster.
Number nine, try learning in a group, with a group of other people, a group of friends, or a group of peers. Try not to learn on your own, but try to learn in a social setting.
And the 10th way in which you can be learning faster is simply choose things that you would enjoy to learn. You're not going to learn anything quickly if you hate whatever it is, or if you don't truly want to learn it.
Your lack of confidence certainly isn't helping you, and it's probably why you're not as far ahead in life as you'd like to be.
But here's the thing: confidence is something that can be built, it's not something that you simply have.
We are all born the same. Nobody's born with confidence. We're all born clean slate. So everything is learnable, including confidence as well.
The number two confidence builder is all around learning, up-skilling. Taking your game up to the next level. If you want to build your confidence, you have to take some time to.
The number three thing that you could be doing to up your confidence game or develop more confidence in a particular area is to ask the experts. There's experts out there for everything.
Number four, if you want to build your confidence, you have to get comfortable pushing yourself just outside your comfort zone. Confidence doesn't happen staying in your comfort zone.
Five, 10%, whatever it is just beyond your current capabilities. And trying and building and seeing how that goes and learning from your mistakes.
The number five thing that you can do to build confidence is anticipate the obstacles. You'd be surprised you could probably anticipate 70, 80% of the obstacles likely to appear before you.
The number six thing that you can do to build your confidence is develop an action attitude, an orientation towards taking action.
So in summary, there's lots of ways that you can be building your confidence. Once again, confidence is something that you build, it's not something that you're born with, it's not something that you simply have.
Today, I'm going to give you a silver bullet that can really help propel your success, one thing above all others, which if you enact, which if you appreciate, will set you apart from all of the rest.
A couple of years ago, I was speaking at a conference, and after I spoke at the conference, an aspiring entrepreneur came up to me and he said, "Eric, what's the one book that you'd recommend that I read?"
I said, "Do you know what your problem is? You're searching for a silver bullet. You're searching for that one thing, that one book, and there is no one book."
"Instead, you should be scheduling in 30 minutes every day to develop a reading habit, 30 minutes every day to continually pour through the things that interest you.
Knowledge compounds, and so you have to develop that habit to let it start growing, to let it compound. It's discipline," I said, "That is your silver bullet."
It's a discipline to do what others don't want to do when they're just messing around. It's a discipline to stay the course when it's easier just to stop.
Where would your life or business benefit from a bit more discipline? Where are you super undisciplined, and where could you make a commitment to show up more strongly, more powerfully day after day in a disciplined way?
Are you an aspiring entrepreneur, but unsure what to start or what to do?
Today I want to talk about three things, three lenses, if you will, three filters that you can apply to your life to unlock the entrepreneurship within you.
So the first lens, the first filter is looking at love. So what is it that you love doing? To what degree would you love doing whatever the idea may be?
I highly encourage you to take all the potential ideas that you might have and just list them all out on a piece of paper. And then you're going to put each of these things I'm going to go through as a column. And you're going to rate each of the ideas 1 to 10 to the degree to which you do that category.
The next thing, the next column on your list is skill. So how skilled are you at each of these things on your list?
And last but not least, I want you to think about the need. To what degree would the world really need this idea, this activity that you have in mind, this new business proposition?
So love, skill, and need, these three together, high scores in all three of these categories really can unlock the entrepreneurship within you or give you that push towards an idea and the myriad maybe of ideas that you have, or maybe even help you generate an idea.
You're letting bad days get the best of you. When you have a bad day, you simply take way too long to recover.
Super simple short message today about how to recover from bad days. I want to give you three things that I always keep in mind to help me rebound much more quickly.
Number one is to recognize that having a bad day is completely normal. If we're constantly measuring our success by only having great days, we are sure as heck setting ourselves up for failure.
Number two, remember to play the long game. The secret to a life with a wonderful positive trajectory or a business that is doing super well is to recognize that over a long period of time, having more winning days than bad is the goal.
And last but not least, when you do have a bad day, never have two in a row. Think very proactively, "What are the things that I could do today to make sure tomorrow is a rebound day?"
So try those three things to help you recover much more quickly from a bad day. Recognize that it's completely normal, play the long game, and make sure that you never have two in a row.
Did you know that some researchers estimate we only retain 10% of what we read? What if I could show you a way to retain 90% of whatever it is that you're trying to learn?
Today's message is super simple, super quick. It's all about how to up your retention game.
Teaching leads to a retention of up to 90% versus reading, where it's only around 10%.
So here's a few simple ways in which you can employ this in your business or life. Number one, after you've read something, rather than seek to summarize it, seek to share it instead.
The second thing that you can do is get into the habit of presenting your information. So this works super well in a work environment. Just the act of preparing for a presentation will lead to much stronger, deeper retention.
Last but not least, an awesome way in which you can get into the habit of retaining more of what you learn through the power of teaching is by sending out a weekly email to your friends, colleagues, to your network. Just simply consolidate your learnings and share some of the things that you're coming across, that you're reviewing, that you're studying, that peak your interest, with those that are important to you.
So in summary, if you want to change your retention from as low as 10% from when you read something to as high as 90%, seek to teach.
Your mistakes actually hold the key to stronger leadership. When was the last time you told your team that you messed something up or that something was your fault?
Today I want to talk to you about how your need to feel safe is actually making your team feel unsafe and is holding you and the team back. Up your leadership game by focusing on demonstrating more vulnerability with your team.
If a leader creates an environment which doesn't tolerate mistakes and the leader, him or herself doesn't ever admit to any mistakes, then the team will be very hesitant to do anything that puts their neck out.
When everyone plays things safe the level of achievement goes down. Why? Because we're staying within our comfort zone. Our success, however, is connected to stepping just outside our comfort zone.
So we need to make sure that we're not coming across as mistake-proof. When was the last time, for example, that you said to your team, "We didn't achieve this goal and it's because of me. It's my fault. You know, I messed that up." Or, "I know we made this decision, but that was the wrong decision. And that came from me. I inspired that decision. I'm sorry, I messed up."
Shine a spotlight on your mistakes so that your team feels okay with making theirs and your results will go through the roof.
We all know that goals are important, but to achieve mastery, we must learn to love the plateaus. The plateaus are those times, when you feel like you're making no progress at all, when you feel like giving up and when you feel like you shouldn't have even maybe started working toward the goal, those are the times that we need to learn to embrace.
Look to treat them as the signals that they are. That if you keep your head down and if you just keep hammering away, keep plowing away at whatever it is, that your next spur of achievement is just around the corner.
Success is not linear. It's more like a stair step, having success for some time and then no success and then some more success.
The path to mastery involves showing up day after day, diligent, persistent, patient practice, day after day.
Most likely, you're building your network and connections in the wrong way.
Today I want to teach you three principles you can use to build stronger connections with the people who matter most.
Today's principles are all around the acronym CPR, like the Health Saving Technique, but the letters stand for something different here. The C is for curiosity, the P is for persistence and the R is for reciprocity.
The first principle is all around curiosity. Be curious, ask why, ask deeper questions. And you'll see that the conversation just naturally flows. When you're curious about someone and you're asking that one level deeper, they will immediately be more engaged with you. They will immediately feel something magnetizing about that conversation, because you're simply being curious about them.
The next is persistence. If at first you don't succeed, try, try, try again. Everyone's super busy, right? You're super busy, so is everyone else. And often when someone gets that first email, when somebody is trying to approach them, they will discount it. Maybe they won't respond right away or they won't respond at all. But you have to just keep trying.
And the third thing is the R, reciprocity. When you're looking to connect with someone, ask yourself, "Well, what is it that you can give? How can you help them?" Don't even ask for their help at first. How is it that you might help them further their cause? Give first and then you'll receive more likely in return.
Your problem isn't finishing things, your problem is that you haven't learned to create enough momentum that will carry you through and complete whatever you’d like to get done.
Today I'm going to teach you three simple techniques that you can use to create more momentum in your business and life.
Unless you create more momentum many of your goals, perhaps even most, will go unachieved.
Number one: Get into the habit of creating momentum by simply “choosing to start for just five minutes.” Choosing brings a sense of control, since you can choose to do anything regardless of whether you would like doing it. Focusing on the start is less overwhelming than focusing on the finish. And my committing to only 5 minutes you virtually always have the time (and you end up never realizing when the 5 minutes was up!)
Number two: Go public. I want you to IPO your ideas, IPO your intent, go public with whatever it is that you're going to do. Because when you create that peer pressure and let the world know what it is that you want to achieve you’re compelled to act.
Number three: Make it painful. We move towards pleasure in life, and we move away from pain. Putting money on the line, in some form, against your goal completion hacks into our natural instinct to avoid loss, which according to behavioral scientists from Yale University can significantly increase the odds of goal achievement.
Today I'm going to teach you three hacks that you can use to complete your work up to five times faster.
Instead of working five hours on something, what if you could be getting it done in just one hour?
If you don't learn these techniques, if you don't learn these hacks, you won’t become all that you’re capable of becoming.
The number one technique to increase the rate at which you work is based on the Pareto principle. The Pareto principle simply states that 20% of the causes typically lead to 80% of the effects, or said in another way, 20% of the effort leads to 80% of the results. Where are the leverage points in your work? What really matters? Focus on the 20% that generates 80% of the result and you’ll save tons of time.
The second technique is to focus on Parkinson's law, which simply states that work will expand to fill the time given for its completion. So we can use this to our advantage by proactively restricting the amount of time we give ourselves to complete tasks.
The final technique is what I call ‘The 96% Solution’. If work remains after applying 80/20 focus and restricting the time available, in light of Parkinson’s Law, then delegate the remaining work to someone else. Ask them to “80/20” the 20% that remains (assuming you completed the initial 80%). Completing 80% of the 20% that remains, mathematically speaking, comes to 16% + your initial 80% = 96% done. And that’s more than enough - considering your initial 80% is often enough!
These three things, in combination, have enabled me to complete my work up to 5x faster.
Today, I want to share a super simple technique inspired by the book Elite Minds that you can use to operate at your best day in and day out.
Perfect is not the goal. What is? It's simply do your best. Each and every day, make it your intention to do the very best you can with what you have that day. If you did the best you could that day, give yourself a 'W' for 'win.' If you didn't do your best, give yourself an 'L' for 'learn.' The goal here is six or less L’s in a month and never two in a row.
What I love about this system is that no matter how big my to-do list is, no matter what the day looks like, or how unusual that day is compared to the normal day, all I can ever do is my best.
By measuring this and keeping it super public and visible, it has a huge effect on my psyche throughout the day. I'm thinking throughout the day, "'What do I need to keep doing for that W?" Or if I start to get slightly distracted, I rein it in much more quickly because I know I don't want to have to give myself an L for the day.
The goal of six or less L’s per month roughly comes to an 80% hit rate, so basically, you're trying to show up as your best for about 80% of the days. I think that's a wonderful hit rate.
No matter how big your list is, no matter how unusual the day is, all you can do day-to-day is your best. I'm super confident that if we just focus on doing our best day in and day out, we'll reach a much higher level of achievement and satisfaction in both our business and lives.
Today, I want to share three success secrets from the late Kobe Bryant, which were inspired by something that I read in the book, Raise Your Game.
The greatest player in the game at the time would start to practice at 4:00 a.m. ahead of everyone else.
During this time, Kobe would practice the most basic offensive moves, the most basic drills. Basic footwork, basic shooting, layups, just the absolute most fundamentals.
The author of Raise Your Game asked Kobe, "Why does the greatest player in the game need to practice such basic moves?" Kobe responds with a big smile "Well, how do you think I became the best player in the game?"
There are three success secrets baked in there that I wanted to share today that we can all really learn from:
Have a schedule. Show up with your best. Practice the fundamentals… So that brick by brick, you can build the house of your success in your business or life.
SUMMARYToday I want to share with you a nice story and a few simple techniques that you can use to create a strong sense of family values in your home - because leadership starts at home.
One of my clients, a CEO of a local company here in the UK, shared with me a set of values that he and his family had created to guide their behaviors and actions in much the same way that you would create a set of values in your workplace.
This particular CEO with his family would have this habit of asking themselves regularly, "Are we doing this right?" But what was really cool and beautiful about this is that “right” stood for the set of values that they had all agreed on as a family. So it was actually spelled R-I-T with three E's. RITEEE.
The R was for respect, the I was for integrity, the T was for teamwork, and then the three E's were for excellence, environment and enjoyment. “Are we doing this RITEEE?” was basically a question that the family would ask themselves in a given situation or a decision that they're trying to make. It was short for: Are we doing this with respect? Are we doing this with integrity? Are we doing this as a team? Are we doing this with excellence? Are we doing this with respect to our environment? Are we doing this with enjoyment?"
We create a set of values for companies, but we never think about doing that for the most important unit of all, our family unit at home. Where are the values for our family? Where are the guideposts to guide our behavior?
To create a set of family values:
First, sit down with your family members and agree on your values. What are the things that we value in each other? What are the things that we don't value? What are our likes? What are dislikes?" And create a list of words. Five or six words maximum.
Second, play around with synonyms of those words or just reorganize the order in which you lay them out, so that you can create an acronym. A memorable acronym that you'll never forget. Similar to the client's story that I shared, "Are we doing this RITEEE?" Where RITEEE stood for the six family values.
Third, get into the habit of asking the question, "Are we doing this [with whatever that acronym is]?"
Over time you will see that your behavior and the way you operate as a family, as a unit, starts to coalesce and form around the very things which you find to be most valuable, which you value as a family.
To improve communication start by learning how to listen better. Today I'm going to take you through three ways in which you can improve your listening skills so that you can also improve and up your game on the communication front.
Rule number one with improving your communication through mastering the art of listening is to develop the ability to pause. Really focus on relaxing and letting the other person speak. Don't think about the next thing that you need to be saying or cut them off. Just pause. Let them say whatever it is that they're trying to say and fully give the space for that.
Number two, to improve your listening game, to improve your communication game, you need to reflect back what you're hearing. You can use just a simple statement such as, "I think I heard you say," or "I understand that what you're saying is...," and just reflect back. Play back what it is that you've just heard the person state.
Number three, ask the question, "Why?... Why do you feel that way? Why do you think that way? Why don't you think things could be another way?" This will deepen your understanding, thereby improving any communication that follows.
In this episode, I talk about the power of enthusiasm and how you can cultivate it through 3 simple techniques.
"Enthusiasm is one of the most powerful engines of success. When you do a thing, do it with all your might. Put your whole soul into it, stamp it with your own personality, be active, be energetic, be enthusiastic and faithful, and you will accomplish your objective. Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm." - Ralph Waldo Emerson
The first technique to cultivate enthusiasm is to “act enthusiastically.” Strike a power pose. Stand up tall and straight. Shoulders back, chin down, smile. By behaving in that way, having that kind of posture, it gets us thinking in a more positive, enthusiastic way. We start to become what it is that we're trying to be.
The second thing that you can do to develop your enthusiasm is to flex your “what's going well” muscle. At the end of every day, I just ask myself, "What went well today?" And I make sure I note all of those things.
The third is to learn to say no. Think about the people, places and activities in your life that give you energy. Think about the people, places and activities in life that drain energy from you. Say no to those energy drainers. Say yes to the things that give us energy, because what gives us energy also helps propel our enthusiasm.
Employ these three techniques to generate unstoppable enthusiasm.

A meeting is the perfect opportunity for people to think creatively about a problem, engage in productive conflict about a particular topic and create a healthy debate. When people get the chance to lay in with different perspectives, they are more likely to buy into the outcome at the end of the meeting. In this episode I'll share my top tips to make your meetings efficient and effective.
Do you find yourself shying away from difficult conversations? I really struggled with them in the early part of my career, especially as a CEO, telling the team about bad news, or when performance wasn't as great as I would like it to be. After reading a lot and learning from those around me I started to see that there were 4 types of conversation people shy away from - and in this episode I'll provide you with the tools and techniques you need to navigate them effectively.
I've always struggled to maintain balance between the three pillars of my life - work, health and relationships. I was the type of person who would go all-in on work and have bouts of success but then suddenly I'd have some kind of health issue or relationship problem. The way I've managed to improve in all areas, without sacrificing any of them is by introducing a peak performance routine - and in this episode I'll share mine and help you build your own.
Have you struggled to stay consistent with your goals? You're good for a while, but then after maybe two or three weeks, you suddenly lose sight of them and momentum falls away? I'd always be good in short timeframes but when my motivation dropped off so did my habits. That's when I realized I had to bring in insights from science about human nature to maximize the chance for hitting my goals - and in this episode I'll show you how to do just that with your own goals.
Have you found yourself struggling to achieve your goals? You can change the trajectory of your life by adopting the mindset of a professional and ditching that of an amateur. In this episode I explain the difference between an amateur and professional, describe my own experience turning pro and explain how you too can become a professional in whatever field you want to succeed in.
What happens to your dreams and goals in uncertain times? When things don't go to plan it's easy to retreat. Some withdraw into distraction, or mind-numbing entertainment but others press on, making the most of the situation. In this episode I explore the mindsets needed to deal with adversity and explained how I applied them to creating my first virtual event when the pandemic hit.
Some of the questions I get the most with my coaching clients are around purpose. When I look back at my own life, if somebody were to have told me 20 years ago, that I would have gone from McKinsey to Skype, from CEO of Chilango to becoming a high performance coach, I would have laughed. But through that journey, I've developed a unique approach to help people find their purpose, which I share in this episode.
In business and life you can’t focus on everything but most people try to do it all when trying to reach their goals. I used to do this too, putting in long hours, day after day, without being truly effective. The good news is that it’s often 20% of the effort that drives 80% of the results - this is what the 80/20 Rule tells us. The key is to find those high leverage activities and focus on them relentlessly - which exactly is what you'll learn in this episode.
Separating our work and home lives can be tough, especially when there's always so much to do, but unless you make a change, your work and relationships will continue to suffer. I used to struggle with this too, often working late into the night until I implemented a Shutdown Ritual, which led to increased productivity, better sleep and improved relationships. In this episode, I'll show you how to create your own Shutdown Ritual to help you switch out of work mode and into home mode every day.
Have you ever felt unmotivated to complete you work? Or a sense of dread when you think about certain projects or tasks? Have you ever worried that your bouts of procrastination are holding you back in life? I've felt this way too.In fact I used to think of myself as the world's #1 procrastinator. I had my successes, but they came so painfully - with far too much effort, wasted time, and all the stressed-out cramming that comes with leaving things too late. But after reading the The Now Habit by Neil Fiore I discovered a simple little phrase that changed everything for me.
All of the great successes I’ve achieved in my career and life have been the result of time spent in the trenches fielding challenges, sometimes succeeding and sometimes failing - but always bouncing back stronger as a result. For this first episode of the podcast I reflect on some of the key moments that have changed the course of my life and give you some practical takeaways for each of them.
The average person loses 28% of their work day to multi-tasking ineffectiveness, which applied to 46 working weeks amounts to a massive 13 weeks lost every year! No wonder people feel behind and over-worked. Instead of playing the game with 4 quarters per year, they're trying to do it in 3. Now imagine if you could add back these 13 weeks? What would it do for you, your family, your team, and your company if you had a whole extra quarter? In this episode I'll show you how to do just that with one simple habit - single-tasking.
