The grind is never-ending. The second you think you have made it, that’s the second you start to decline in life. It’s great to look at your resume of the things you have accomplished in life. FRONTLINE LEADERSHIP A team is only as strong as its leader. Unfortunately, 79% of employees quit their jobs due to a lack of appreciation from leaders. Frontline leadership roles like shop-floor supervisors and operations managers are critical. The frontline leaders in an organization shoulder a great deal of responsibility for the success or failure of the company. Therefore, they must have certain skills and abilities to do their jobs well and contribute to the organization's overall success.

The number one thing I would tell my former self is lead from the front. In other words Walk your Talk.
Talent is sexy; discipline can be a bit boring. Which of these characteristics would you rather have in an employee? Which makes a better employee or manager? In nearly 30 years of leading and managing I’ve seen hundreds of talented people who simply lacked the discipline to do anything useful with it. For my money, I’ll take a disciplined person over someone with talent any day; except...... many of the most talented people got there through discipline.

Ken what were the fist two things inside your Performance Playbook?
Well, the first Two principels that I put into my Playbook were,
- Discipline-driven vs. Default-driven.
- Behavior skills drive job skills.
They’re simple, practical, and they work. BUT THE MAJORITY OF PEOPLE DON’T ACT ON THEM. The average person reads, engages in shallow thinking, minimal self-reflection, and asks, “What’s next?”
When you, as the leader, aren’t intentional about your attitude and behavior and how you respond, you get poor results. When you permit bad attitude and behavior by others, you get poor response and poor results. It doesn’t matter how good your strategic plan is or how talented the team is, if the attitude and behavior is poor you will not get maximum response and results.
