The Empty Promise Podcast is a (try)weekly conversational podcast in which two best friends discuss a weekly topic of interest – this ranges from conspiracy theories, stories of amazing human feats to film, television and book reviews - along with news, anecdotes and random facts
The podcast is 'try-weekly' becasue we try to have it ready each week. Its not always the case though, we are called the empty promise podcast after all, so dont hold it against us

This week Chris brings the famous story of Sir Ernest Shackleton and his crew on board the Endurance. An expedition which should have been a global success but instead ended up being one of thee most harrowing stories of survival in the face of certain death.
Chris focuses however on the brilliance of Captain Frank Worsley and how his expertise ended up being the difference in life and death throughout the expedition.
Whilst Sir Ernest famously gets all the credit for this expedition Chris highlights the lesser known side of the story which is how without Frank Worsley it would have been a different tale to tell altogether.

What should have been a safe haven for Peggy Hodgson and her four young children turned into a horror story they wouldn't soon forget. After hearing several bangs and thuds from her children's room upstairs Peggy Hodgson investigates expecting to have to tell her children off for being loud however it soon became clear that her children were not the ones responsible for the noises or for the eighteen months of terror that would follow.
