We revist Cain and Abel again this week, taking about some of the finer points of how Cain served himself, how he had his own image of God, how the people of Isreal demanded an image of God, how we need to follow after the full picture that the Bible depicts of Jesus and not just serve a version of Jesus that we think he is.
Our 2nd part of this series, We talked about Cain and Abel, two brothers, one seeking God’s love and another serving him out of obligation. By our nature we often treat our relationship with God as an obligation rather than a desire. We need to seek God as an inward desire that show itself outwardly. No matter how far we fall, God will always find Grace when we seek him.
We start with a recent story of two businesses ChikFilA and Popeyes Chicken and their all out war leading to a shortage of Chicken sandwhiches from popeyes. In a sortof stretched sense this is how We are often faced with church, a shortage, and dissatisfaction of what we are given. Tonight we talked about God restoring our taste in his word and will in our lives, how his kindom is never in short supply, and how we often fall short in seeing his goodness.
Sinners in the Hands of a Beautiful God is a new series debuted tonight, Pastor Sweh shared with us its significance that we server a loving God and not a distant God full of wrath. A God that carefully formed us and gave us a purpose and plan, that hears our prayers and cares about each of us.
