I saw MJ Kinman’s gem quilts and was very intrigued. How did she come up with those and how does she design them?

I love Riane Menardi Morrison's style, very focused on shapes and color. She specializes in big modern shapes and her work is entirely hand quilted with high contrast stitching. If you belong to the Modern Quilt guild you will recognize her name as she does the emails, webinars, etc

Cassandra Beaver of The Not So Dramatic Life has a rich background in making. She create quilts with a lot structure both in the design and the quilting of the. She has won awards for her quilts and she also teaches you how to create a unique piece all your own.

Jen Shaffer is the talented designer behind PBJ Patterns by Jen. You might have seen her Monthly color challenge, or created her delightful designs.

You will recognize Denise Russell’s gorgeous quilt designs, many shown by your favorite fabric companies. I really love her use of color and pattern, She is also a regular contributor to the magazine.

When I saw the remake of an 1876 quilt I had to find out a bit more. It was a project launched by friends Anne Dawson and Karen Alexander. Anne was able to join me to tell me how they came to be so passionate about reproducing this amazing quilt.

I love seeing what Krista Moser comes up with next. To me her her quilts create illusions with the design and fabric selection. And she loves unusual shapes. Today we’ll get a few tips on make quilts the Krista way!

Jess Zeigler of threaded quilting is a designer, longarm quilter and regular contributor to American Patchwork & Quilting’s family of magazines. She has a unique approach to selecting pantograph designs and a brilliant pattern for a No Y Seam Feathered star.

Joyce Gieszler is contributor to American patchwork & quilt magazine, you’ll find her ‘Go For a Spin’ in the Feb 2019 issue. She is a scrap quilter who love small patchwork, I can’t wait to get a few tips!

Kathy Ross is an artist that has been bitten by the love of thread. Her thread painted works look so real you’ll need to look twice to be sure it’s not a photo! She brings her watercolor background into the mix and it’s magical.

It is so fun to contact someone for the show and find out they took a workshop from me years ago! Denniele Bohannon of Louanna Mary Quilt Design made my day when she told me that! She has a wonderful design sense and I love the stories behind them.

Sharon Wasteney has her way with fabric. She does amazing over dyed lines which she uses in her projects. And her quilts often tell a story. She is designed the shop quilt when her favorite store was featured in the quilt shop issue.

Julia Wentzell is half of the Briar Hill Designs team as she works with her Sister-in-law Caverly. They create gorgeous fabric for RJR and wonderful patterns to use it in!

I found Kim Jamieson-Hirst on youtube with her book reviews. She has such a fantastic channel and teaching style. If you want to learn something Kim has most likely done a video for you! She is owner of Chatterbox Quilts and host of The Quiler’s way, an online membership site.

Michelle May of ‘The Raspberry Rabbit’ creates darling things I want to make. Recently I was stalking her… I mean following her, and saw her daily embroidery project and had to hear more!. The photo of that follows. is her year long hexie project.

Who do I turn to for questions on the quilting design program Electric Quilt? My good friend Nancy Mahoney! She has been using the program for years, is and EQ Ambassador, and knows the ins and outs. I wanted to tell you about some of the features you might not know about with Nancy as our guide!

Shannon Fabrics creates amazing textured fabric that are so fun to snuggle under. My friend Teresa Coates is an artist and the Event & Education co-ordinator for Shannon. You remember seeing her videos for Fat Quarter shop. Can’t wait to learn more about this fabric, I have a great kit to sew up!

I’ve love Janet Wecker Frisch of Joy Studio’s work. She creates with an underlying theme of sewing in many of her pieces. I also adore her Halloween things! She shares lots of inspiring photos taken in her amazing studio. And she is now learning to quilt.

I have been following Nicole Volgelsinger of Wild Boho for awhile. Her newest book is Boho embroidery, full amazing ideas for new motifs and how to use them with applique. I love the whole concept!

I meet Mary Koval at her booth of antique quilts at one of the shows. I’ve always loved stopping in to see what type of quilts she has found. Mary also has a shop and retreat center in Beford PA. Her fabric lines are based on Antiques, can’t wait to hear about the newest!

I meet Angela Huffman of Quilted Joy when we were both doing demos for a long arm company. She was traveling, running her business and raising her triplets. Angela taught me a lot about longarming and working a business your own way. She now has a beautiful shop and you can visit her!

I love finding fresh new creative designs by quilt makers. Kristina Brinkerhoff of Center Street Quilts is creating amazing and fun design after design! She has a cool way of using checkerboards in her quilt that is next on my list to do.
