The B1G Show is an online radio show/podcast covering Big Ten football all year round. During the season, The B1G Show will be bi-weekly.
Before going onto an 11-year NFL career, which included a pair of Pro Bowl selections and a Super Bowl with the St. Louis Rams, cornerback Dre Bly starred with the University of North Carolina Tar Heels. During his time in the ACC Bly was a three-time First-Team All-American (twice consensus). The Heels were 28-8 in his three seasons spent at Chapel Hill and the cornerback holds the school record for most interceptions in a season with 11 and in a career with 20. A member of the 2014 College Football Hall of Fame Class, Bly was in New York for the announcement.
In an interview at the Waldorf-Astoria Bly spoke becoming a Hall of Famer, his ability as a ball hawk and emulating Deion Sanders. The cornerback also gave us his take on the College Football Playoffs. Hosted by Daniel Mogollon (9 minutes)
Indiana Hoosiers safety Mark Murphy was honored by the National Football Foundation as a national scholar-athlete, as well as a William V. Campbell finalist at the Waldorf-Astoria in New York City (December 9), which is where I was able to sit down with the Indiana product. Murphy was a four-year starter for the Hoosiers, he is IU’s active leading tackler, and a two-time first team Academic All-American. Murphy talks about being a student-athlete, the Indiana Hoosiers football program, his fandom of the Green Bay Packers (Aaron Rodgers or Brett Favre), as well as LeBron James (Mark is an Akron, Ohio native), and gives a scouting report on the Ohio State Buckeyes. Hosted by Daniel Mogollon. (8 Minutes)
Hosts Daniel Mogollon and Lloyd Ribner III break down the debable that was Week 3 in the Big Ten.
B1G Show Co-Hosts Lloyd Ribner III and Daniel Mogollon are breaking down the 2014 Big Ten Season with a set of quick hit podcasts. First up, will the Michigan State Spartains be able to repeat as Big Ten Champions this season? The Guys discuss the defending Rose Bowl Champs, the growth of Connor Cook, losses on defense, and how Ohio State's Braxton Miller might be the most important quarterback for Sparty's season.
With the 2014 NFL Draft in the rearview mirror, we will examine what went down in Radio City from a Big Ten perspective.
We'll begin by breaking down how first-round picks Taylor Lewan (Michigan), Ryan Shazier (Ohio State), Darqueze Dennard (Michigan State) and Bradley Roby (Ohio State) will fit in with their respective NFL teams as rookies. In addition, we'll take a look at which players slipped, if there were any reaches, who are the sleepers, as well as the best undrafted free agents and players who can make an immediate impact in the NFL.
Finally we'll conclude our Draft recap show by taking a look ahead to the Class of 2015, which could be the best Big Ten crop in years.
Hosted by Daniel Mogollon & Lloyd Ribner III
It's been five years since the Big Ten produced a top-10 pick and it's time to break that streak with what might be one of the strongest draft classes the conference has produces in years.
Joining co-hosts Daniel Mogollon and Lloyd Ribner III will be NFL Draft Bible founder Rick Seritella, as we breakdown the Big Ten prospects heading into the 2014 NFL Draft.
Who will be the first Big Ten player off the board? How many first rounders will the conference produce? Which players have helped/hurt themselves the most during the draft process? Plus, hidden gems and much more.
Co-Hosts Dan Mogollan and Lloyd Ribner III take a look at the top Big Ten prospects on the defensive side of the ball and where they stand heading into the 2014 NFL Draft. Four defenders project as potential top-10 picks for the upcoming draft. We each rank them and breakdown their pro potential. Who is the best Big Ten cornerback? Ohio State's Bradley Roby or Michigan State's Darqueze Dennard? Looking for front seven talent... Who goes higher, Minnesota defensive tackle Ra'Shede Hageman or OSU linebacker Ryan Shazier? We answer those questions and more.
Iowa linebacker James Morris joins The B1G Show to talk about preparing for the NFL Draft, as well as Iowa football. The middle linebacker was named to the All-Big Ten second team. He was the only player in the conference with at least 90 tackles, four sacks and four INTs this past season. Not just a star on the field, the Iowa native shined off it as well. The Hawkeye was named to the Capitol One Academic All-America first team and was a William V. Campbell Trophy finalist. Hosted by Daniel Mogllon and Lloyd Ribner III.
The B1G Show is back! This week the NCAA football rules committee announced a pair of potential rule changes. One of the proposals would prevent offenses from snapping the ball until there is 29 seconds remaining on the play clock, which has received much criticism from the offensive coaches in the world of college football.
What's the motivation? Are there other solutions? How does it impact the Big Ten? We'll answer those questions and more, as well as give our take on the potential rule change.
The second less controversial rule change involves the targeting rule. The proposed change would allow the officials to overturn the 15-yard penalty when they go to replay.
Hosted by Daniel Mogollon & Lloyd Ribner III
One of the best linebackers in Big Ten history, the hard hitting Percy Snow was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame this December in New York City and that's where we caught up with the former Michigan State Spartan.
