This weeks episode comes from the Creative Arts Faculty, and we speak to Mrs Adams who is the faculty head. Creative arts is an area where individualism is encouraged, and where we find out there is a whole heap of grey between the black and white. With Art, Music and Drama as the main subjects and a lot of topics in between to focus on, today we learn just why the Creative arts faculty is so important.
Our last podcast for this term will be on wednesday, then we will be taking a four week holiday. Back on the 26th July all the way until you come up in August.

Hiya, I know this is weird, because it is always a Monday, but we only have a few days left of term and I have still another two faculties to get through. So for this week and next there will be two episodes.
In this episode we are talking to Miss King from the Health and Wellbeing faculty. There is so much more to school than sitting behind a desk, as we have spoken about in the past. What the Health and wellbeing faculty aim for is foster these strengths and inspire each and every young person in Peterhead Academy to work towards and achieve their very best, and if you can perform at your best, you will always be a winner.
Next week we are speaking to Maths and the Creative arts dept, before we take a well deserved break for about four weeks.
Thank you for your comments, messages and questions. At the end of the summer before you come in august, I am going to have an Ask me Anything episode where I will take the time to answer some of your questions. If you would like to get in touch with the podcast either email me on:

In this episode we are speaking to Mrs Sellers, the Headteacher at Peterhead Academy, and we discuss all things academy, including her own journey from working as a Soil Scientist to becoming a teacher. Although this interview was away back in March, the information is still relevant and important. Some of the info is out of date because you have been up to the academy already for your visit, but just bear with it, hopefully there will be something to take away from this conversation.

This weeks episode comes from the English Faculty, and we speak to Mrs Rigby who is the faculty head. English language plays an essential role in our lives as it helps in communication. English is important, as it broadens our minds, develops emotional skills, problem solving skills, understanding different media and using different ways to inform us, whether we read, listen or watch.
This week I visited St Fergus Primary and spent a lovely hour with the P7's moving up in August. They were such a chatty Bunch......
Thank you for your comments, messages and questions. In a few weeks time I am going to have an Ask me Anything episode where I will take the time to answer some of your questions. This weeks episode comes from the modern languages dept, and we speak to Mrs Belshaw who is the faculty head. There are many benefits of learning languages and it is a proven fact that People who speak more than one language have improved memory, problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, enhanced concentration, ability to multitask, and better listening skills.
I remember when I was at school "why do I need to Learn German", and for many years that would be true, until I started taking people on holiday on my coach, all over the continent where it might have been quite useful to know a second language....
Have a listen hopefully there will be something in this episode that might inspire you. For a start here is the story of the two French cats....
'Two french cats, called one-two-three and Un-Deux-Trois were in a swimming race.....Which cat won?
One-two-three, because Un-Deux-Trois-cat-sank.......... Sorry!!

For this first episode we are speaking to Miss Greig who works in the science dept, but is also the principle teacher of Digital Literacy. In this show we are finding out what that means, and how we may be working digitally already. Within this Podcast there is some details about the task being set for you this week, which is all about Microsoft teams - the platform that we use in Peterhead Academy, but also the one many of you may have used in home learning during lockdown. Details of this task will be found in the S1 team, so look out for it.
If you would like to contact me on the podcast or leave a message, ask a question, either phone and leave a message on 01467 538113, email or message me on teams or contact the podcast direct on https://anchor.fm/movinup/message.
Next week we talk to Miss Forsyth who informs us what we can expect in the science dept. Remember to follow, and subscribe to this podcast to get a new episode every monday morning, and let me know what you think of this podcast and if you feel it is helpful.
Take care, Be kind, stay safe.
