Joining me on the last ever episode of #90thmw was the brilliant Simon Mundie. We talk in length about self acceptance and the importance of reflection in a 15 minutes I will take a lot from personally. Simon's podcast Don't Tell Me The Score has taken over his life during lockdown and he goes through his best bits of advice as well as favourite guests. Birtley Town midfielder Robbie Williamson joined the podcast for another special episode. Robbie bravely shared the struggles he has on a daily basis with Behcets and the work he's doing to raise awareness, his love for Birtley Town on & off the pitch and what it was like being involved in academies up and down the country growing up. Finally and completely off the cuff Robbie was asked to choose his Premier League TOTS with some interesting choices. ENJOY!
Burnley correspondent from The Athletic, Andy Jones joined me in another special episode. Fresh out of uni, Andy took me through the opportunity he got to write about the club on a day to day basis, Sean Dyche press conferences and the shambolic super league. Enjoy everyone!
For the first time on the podcast, we go international. Roberto Rojas joined me in this special episode. We go through how Roberto got into journalism and the success he's had in such a short career. As a Newcastle fan it was great to get Roberto's thoughts on Miguel Almiron's move to the Premier League and how he feels he's adapted. In the first of a few special episodes featuring podcast hosts and experts, my first guest is front man of the All With Smiling Faces podcast Kris Wallace. We discuss how podcasts have changed and developed over the last year during the pandemic, talking to Alan Shearer & Ryan Taylor and some very important advice for anybody wishing to enter the podcast world.
Hibernian centre half duo Charlotte Potts & Joelle Murray were my guests in the final episode of the 4th series. A really enjoyable discussion around the skills needed to be a good centre half, what it's like being a one club player and the differences in coaching to playing. To finish off we had a quick fire round of true or false to test the ladies knowledge of each other with some surprising results. Enjoy!
Foundation of Light managing director Jamie Wright is the next special guest in series 4. Jamie’s time at the Foundation has spanned 20 years and we discuss the charities successes. As always there’s time to delve into the coaching journey and what makes a good leader.
Former co-host of Football on 5 George Riley joins me for episode 7. George’s career includes broadcasting, writing and campaigning for mental health so we’ll be discussing those topics this week. George is also a big Leeds fan so we’ll be reviewing the season so far for Marcelo Bielsa’s men.
Blogger, podcaster and writer Ian Cheeseman is the guest for episode 6. Ian takes us through his life in writing, we talk Manchester City’s recovery and the late great Colin Bell.
In the first episode of series 4 I’m joined by Ostersunds coach David Preece. David and I will be discussing the differences between coaching in England to abroad as well as his ideal goalkeeper. There’ll also be an opportunity to delve into his passion for journalism in between coaching.

North East non-league football writing legend Mark Carruthers joins me in episode 7 to discuss a wide range of topics including the new normal in non-league. Characteristics of a good journalist and of course the usual ‘personal journey’.

Gateshead FC assistant manager Ian Watson joins me this week to discuss his role at National League North side Gateshead FC. Despite Gateshead almost going out of business last season they finished in the play offs on PPG. Ian’s background is mainly strength and conditioning but his future very much seems to be coaching football.
Roker report managing editor Gavin Henderson joins #90thmw in episode 4 to discuss how he got into writing and blogging for one of the North East’s biggest football platforms. As always I’ll be getting a taste of Gav’s journey from coaching in his early career to providing the excellent coverage for RR via podcasts and blogs.
Adam Swinney is this weeks special guest and offers something new to the podcast. His work at Mansfield Town and Scarborough Athletic have seen his career take a step away from coaching and into performance analysis.
Newly appointed coach of Middlesbrough women Ross Flintoft is the guest today. Ross has worked for Newcastle United Foundation for a number of years and combined his roles with a position at Durham & Chester-Le-Street school partnership. Flintoft also visited Holland a few years back to observe PSV Eindhoven. Hope you enjoy listening

I’m joined by Tony Fawcett this week to discuss his progressive success as manager of Ryton & Crawcrook in Northern League division 2 over the last 3 years. Tony has recently been appointed joint manager of Whitley Bay in division 1. I discuss his thoughts ahead of the new season as well as views on the decisions taken to null and void non-league football round the country due to the coronavirus.
Lloyd joins me to go through his experience of coaching abroad and the cultures associated. I’ll also be going through his new webinars and ambitions for the future. Finally a slight twist on the normal finale to an episode, I’ll be asking Lloyd’s PL team of the season so far.
I speak to Dave Coulthard who provided some in depth match reports last season from the north east non-league football scene. Dave has just recently started his new project for next season and I get his views on what it’s like to be a neutral.
This week I met up with Mike Slater and discussed his first year as Head of Football at one of the top performing universities in the country. There’ll also be an opportunity to talk about the transition from student to coach and how he transfers his delivery from working with adults to foundation phase players in Sunderland’s academy.
I talk to Martin Scott regarding his research into people with speech impediments in sport. There’ll also be discussions around Martin’s journey as a coach in grassroots football.
I talk to Jonathan Gibbon-Hayes about his current role as manager of Hartlepool United women, as well as his previous role within the clubs academy. Jonny and I will also discuss his ambitions for pools as a manager and fan.
