Astride his Silicone Engineering Kawasaki, Dean Harrison won the prestigious Solo Championship becoming only the third rider in the Southern 100 history to achieve a hat-trick of wins, 2017, 2018 & 2019, following on from Joey Dunlop in 1976, 1977 & 1978 and Guy Martin in 2013, 2014 & 2015. Knutsford’s Pete Founds and Grimsby’s Jevan Walmsley made their Southern 100 racing debut in 2018 finishing fourth in the first race and going one better in the Sidecar Championship filling the final podium place. Returning in 2019, the same pairing took third in the opening Sidecar race before lifting the coveted Peel Engineering Trophy for winning the Sidecar Championship by the merest of margins 0.131 of a second from 2017 champions John Holden and Lee Cain.
Six races are featured from the 2006 Southern 100 Road Races including the exciting battle between Robert Dunlop and fellow Ulsterman Darran Lindsay in the Ultra-Lightweight 125cc race which was decided at the chequered flag by 0.001 (1/1000th) of a second! Nostalgia is included with the magnificent sounds of the Classic machines as no quarter is given or asked during an action packed race. However, 2006 will be remembered as the year an Australian took victory in the prestigious Solo Championship Race for the first time in the events history. Cameron Donald had a race long duel with Guy Martin, taking the chequered flag by a mere 0.473 of a second becoming only the second newcomer to lift the coveted 'Derek Ennett Trophy', following in the tyre-tracks of Joey Dunlop back in 1976!

Cumbria's Bob Jackson was to take the winners laurel wreath as he raced to his first Southern 100 Solo Championship on the McAdoo Kawasaki after 20-years of trying, having scored his maiden race win on the Billown Course back in 1977 on a 350cc Yamaha. It was also the fortieth anniversary of the Southern 100 Road Races.
1964 was the 10th year of the Southern 100 Road Races, as Leighton Buzzard rider David Williams became only the fourth rider to achieve a 'double' at the increasingly popular races on the 4.25-mile Billown Course first raced on in 1955. It was also the first year that the fledgling Manx Radio broadcast live from the 'southside' venue, with Jack Quayle bringing the action into the Islands homes - which the 'Nation's Station' continues to do some 56 years later, as broadcast partner to the 'friendly races' as the Southern 100 has become known over the years.
