Live every Sunday from 7pm on 107.2 Red Kite Radio across Thame, Haddenham and Aylesbury.
The Blues Session was established in 2008 and originally included musicians playing live in the studio, very much a radio version of the BBC’s The Old Grey Whistle Test. This is something the presenter Martin Clarke and his Producer/Co-presenter Heather Harrison wish to do again in the future. Martin picked up Gold in a national radio award (HBA) for specialist music in 2010 and the show has been nominated three times in the British Blues Awards for independent broadcaster.
We are dedicating this episode of the Blues Session to the late Ken Cooper who passed recently. He became a good friend and regular listener of the show when it was based at Radio Wey in Surrey and often made comments about the live music and guests. We also found out recently that he often spoke about the show and our travels across America in search of the blues. Our thoughts are with his family and friends. Rest in peace Ken. Best wishes, Martin & Heather
Join Martin and Heather for another fast and furious tour of the latest blues to hit the UK scene.
On this weeks show we have tracks from Jo Harman's new album 'People we become' and from The Mustang's new album 'Just Passing Through', plus Ronnie Baker Brooks and Marty Manous.
