We break down the steps on how to make money off e-commerce with successful entrepreneurs across different platforms including Amazon, Shopify, Poshmark, eBay, and others. The entrepreneurs on the show give insights into their stories behind their e-commerce brands, product research, sourcing strategies, marketing, and branding strategies to help make you with your e-commerce business!
Amazon has made previous giant acquisitions spreading its across different industries apart from its e-commerce and web service avenues. With its newest acquisition of One Medical, it is now in the health industry.
Main Headline:Instagram has a new shopping feature that allows people to DM businesses to buy products with the addition of having tracking numbers. This reduces any friction with any payments and trackability giving the customers more confidence in their purchase.
YouTube is also getting into the e-commerce mix with its new partnership with Shopify. Creators will be able to feature their products on their channels and within their content. The video giant also came up with a feature that allows all creators to access live shopping capabilities. These include the ability to tag products to a live stream directly from the Live Control Room panel.
Second Headline: Klarna, the buy now pay later fintech platform, is opening a pop-up shop in Los Angeles to emphasize conscious fashion and clean beauty, The pop-up shop will offer online and in-store discounts for selected products.

Sub Headline: Nike makes a concept store in Seoul, Korea which includes augmented reality tech and customizable backdrops for content creation
Sub Headline: Amazon is both housing third-party sellers to sell on its platform and a seller itself with its private labeled brand. Amazon Basics products have been feared to outshow other branded products from other sellers. Because Amazon has all the data in regard to all the transactions, they know whether or not it will be a better idea to create a private labeled brand to compete with their customers and give themselves the advantage by pushing their products in the eyes of more consumers.
Reports say that this is not the case but others have speculated otherwise,
Okendo is a startup that primarily helps Shopify businesses by enabling them to collect customer reviews via product ratings, customer-generated photos + videos, preferences, and more.
Customer reviews drive sales. Think about it. Many shoppers on Amazon buy products that are rated highly and have great reviews. When pondering about buying product A or product B, customers tend to purchase the one that has a better rating. The same thing applies when going to a restaurant.
Okendo has already worked with over 5,000 brands and you can too. The reality is that one does not have to use them for your Shopify business. There are other plugins and tools that will help you display reviews. The important thing you must take away is to show you're a trusty brand selling products people love. The only way to do that is via ratings and customer reviews.
Amazon just broke the internet with the number of people buying products during Amazon's Prime Day Event. They surpassed 300,000 million items being sold at a rate of 100,000 items sold per minute!
Did you know that 90% of Americans only live within 10 miles of a Walmart? That to me sounds like sameday delivery is very possible potentially making Amazon worried.
Voice technology is only getting better and its applications for it can be limitless. Look at what Amazon is doing with its new feature where instead of Alexa (the default speaking assistant) reading a bedtime story to a child, a recognized voice (such as your parent or in this case a deceased grandma) can do so.
Now, what can voice assistants or smart speakers do more for your e-commerce business? More and more people are getting these types of devices and more people are making search queries. In addition, people are also buying more through voice search and the revenue to come out of that is in the billions!
Your business will not want to miss out on voice search so optimizing your site with long-tail keywords is super important.

Here are the tips for creating a successful Amazon business through the CNBC article/video:
Raise your hand if you thought Lego already had tons of factories in the US. Legos were founded in Demark and they used Mexico to build a factory but now have plans to build in Virginia.
Petco aims to tap into the rural USA pet parents market which is worth about $7 billion. They plan to do this by building rural stores.
Amazon will soon be using drones to deliver packages in California.
The Fashion Act would only hit those apparel companies making over $100M in revenue per year and operating in New York (which is essentially every big brand)!

This is an opportunity calling as more and more e-commerce entrepreneurs and brands are transitioning to TikTok because the ads are cheaper. Not only that but depending on your target audience, TikTok might be the best medium to market. That's because TikTok has 386.6 million users aged 18 to 24, making up 43.7% of the platform’s users worldwide.
If you can figure out creative ways to market your brand and products then you'll have a competitive advantage especially if you make the first move.
For example, Roblox cultivates a lot of attention from a young audience that brands are looking to show off to. Brands like Tommy Hilfiger, Forever 21, and even Gucci have partnered up with Roblox.
Marketing experiments like these may or may not work but if it works then that's gold. Especially if you, again, have that first mover's advantage
Always be testing!

You got to protect the customer if you want them to keep coming back, right? Etsy is a massive online marketplace where a lot of unique products, especially personalized products, are being sold.

Buy Now Pay Later is a way for customers to buy a product through installments instead over a period of time (i.e. 4 installments every two weeks). If you want to buy an expensive item such as a grill or mattress then it might be less of a burden for you to spend that money all at once.
Note: What is Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL)?There are many platforms offering this such as Klarna, PayPal, and Sezzle to name a few. But now Apple is getting into the mix as it plans to integrate its own BNPL option into Apple Pay.

Ever since the pandemic, the demand for activewear has soared 35% in a two-year period. Sales in the men’s and women’s apparel category rose from $52.3 billion in 2019 to $70.8 billion in 2021.
It comes as no surprise that big-box retailers such as Walmart, Target, and Kohl's have launched private-labeled brands to enter this growing market. In today's episode, we go over this market demand and how Walmart has revealed another activewear line with fashion and fitness couple Michelle Smith and Stacey Griffith.
Etsy is a major player in the e-commerce world with custom and personalized products that you don't typically see on Amazon. I believe that Etsy businesses are doing very well with their unique products but can always scale by going on Shopify to get more control of their data.
Not only can you get more insights by switching or adding a Shopify store but it creates a branded experience. Today we explore a couple of products on Etsy to give you inspiration on what from Etsy can potentially be used to create a Shopify brand.
Here are some cool products on Etsy that were mentioned:
Did you know you can actually dropship on Amazon and not just Shopify? Yes, Amazon is mainly known for wholesaling, private labeling, and retail arbitrage. You might ask, "Hey, I thought Amazon has really strict rules against dropshopping," but Shayne Cannell-Cohen explains that as long as you follow the guidelines you'll be safe!
On top of that reassurance, Shayne explains the story of how he had his back against the wall when he lost his part-time job and had to figure out a way to make money. He eventually got into entrepreneurship and started to make serious bags via Amazon dropshipping.
Today he will share his story and strategies to find winning products and how to get into the buy box on Amazon to generate sales!
Target is already selling clothes in its stores through the likes of:
Whenever I go to Target I actually like to see the clothing collection and got some hoodies myself. To my surprise, a good amount of people from my local Target were also checking it out so I thought to myself that Target must be doing pretty well in this department.
Secondhand clothing is a massive market as many online selling platforms like Poshmark, Facebook Marketplace, Let Go, Mercari, and Depop are being used by people as a side hustle (not to mention thrift stores in general as well)! Others take full advantage of the platforms to make 4-5 figure months.
The multibillion-dollar secondhand clothing market can be a great way for Target to make money via the ThredUp partnership.
Here's a very interesting excerpt from the article via Retail Dive:
"Retailers and brands, many with the help of ThredUp, are working to meet surging demand for secondhand clothing. Shoppers, including many younger ones, increasingly see used goods as a way to find a bargain and to limit consumption in the interest of sustainability.
For Target, the pilot is a way to explore how to better serve customers, including what products to carry and how to offer value, along with furthering its sustainability goals."
It's always fun looking at the best sellers on Amazon. One of the things that I discovered surfing the best sellers is:
I wanted to check out the best-selling products on Etsy around Mother's Day and came across this brand called Sweet Water Decor. This store has over 80,000 sales on Etsy and was trying to find a reason as to why or how that is.
Turns out that the brand was founded by Melissa Horvath in 2014. The execution and branding of the motivational business are spot on. The social media content is very aesthetically pleasing on both Instagram and Pinterest not to mention the Facebook ads as well.
Sweet Water Decor is actually in popular retail stores like Hobby Lobby, HomeGoods, TJMaxx, Staples, and in over 4,000 boutique stores. This brand sells mugs, candles, and other home products. It's fun exploring brands and the execution across its social channels.
Physical retail is not dead especially if you're a bigger brand that can afford to have a brick & mortar in an active region where people can interact with your store. It won't just be about more foot traffic to buy products on the spot, but rather to engage and experience the brand to potentially share or buy later.
The metaverse is still in its infancy but there are already cases where brands have used it to increase their brand awareness. Look at the example of Nike and Roblox. You can even take a look at the example of Forever 21 and Roblox where the retailer launched an exclusive partnership with Virtual Brand Group, a metaverse creation company, that allows users to buy and sell Forever 21 merchandise and customize their own stores on the Roblox video game platform.

I love hearing about dropshipping and how entrepreneurs are making nice profits every month. But what if you as a dropshipper or new eCommerce entrepreneur can realize better gains and a potential supreme exit strategy.
This can be done by creating a brand. By implementing digital assets such as data, an email list, a 3PL, etc.
We have George Molous today, who is an e-commerce broker. He has experience in selling established brands to buyers.
George will provide insights on what buyers look for when buying brands so you can know what to expect and what to do for your business.
Welcome to a throwback episode we had back with Rondel Roach in December of last year. This story is pretty lit and the game that supplies for us today is very insightful for anyone trying to create a brand from a-z on their own.
Rondel is the co-founder of the soap brand Bombd Aesthetics alongside his business partner and wife back around 2018. The origin story of the soaps was to help their daughters who were born with sensitive skin.
However, there was a demand for the soap Rondel and his wife was making. They eventually go to making 5-6 figures, hiring multiple employees, and getting a warehouse to supply and distribute the soap.
To get more insights into the stories, read these articles which is where we got the sources from:
Check out the sources where I got the articles:
The market for the pet niche is massive and when you combine that with the idea of personalized products it should be an instant hint, right?
This is the story of how Alex Djordjevic, the co-founder of Pup Ring, went from company debt to generating 5-6 figure months selling personalized pet rings. Alex has had e-commerce experience before Pup Ring but what gravitated him into creating a brand was the idea of a long-term project that also meant something to him on a passionate and sentimental level when his dog passed away.
The primary method of selling the personalized rings was through a vendor in China but as they started to progress in the business they moved operations to the US. Things were not sunshine in rainbows as Facebook was not generating a healthy amount of revenue.
As a matter of fact, Alex and his co-founder found themselves in debt and were close to shutting the store down until he dabbled with TikTok. After about a few videos, he eventually went viral and was able to smash over $20,000 in sales from that one video.
Ever since then his marketing strategies and PupRing outlook as never looked so good!
Take a look at PupRing here:
Who knew Kohl's started as a grocery business before becoming a department store? Today we break down the story of their latest pivot.
Here are stories where we got this info:
We have Matias Myhrberg, who is the founder of Leadon, a digital marketing agency that helps e-commerce brands grow through platforms such as TikTok ads, Google ads, Email marketing, Facebook, and essentially everything in between.
When a brand is making 5-6 figure months, it is time to start branching out to various platforms to maximize reach. This is a must when trying to reach out to new customers are in other words get more top-of-the-funnel awareness.
In this episode, we also dive into more specific with TikTok marketing considering the fact that it is the most cost-efficient platform in terms of getting reach with little to no marketing dollars.
A unique selling proposition is simply the one thing that makes your product better than the competition. You can be a pioneer or an innovator like Steve Jobs disrupting the mobile market with the iPhone. He made the latest phone model (at the time BlackBerry phones) and improved it by like a factor of 50x.
This innovation is a different level of thinking but one can still make major contributions to the market you're in by selling something that is entirely different (but functional of course) or by improving upon another design.
A way you can check for faults in a product is by buying it yourself and testing it. Or you can check out what the consumers are saying by checking reviews on Amazon for example.
Use this as ammo to load up your ideas to make your product idea much better and use this difference in your marketing material as well.
This is a throwback episode we had back in September of 2021. There's one thing to build an e-commerce brand but there's an entirely different thing for setting it up to become an asset that can be sold.
We have George Molous today, who is an e-commerce broker. He has experience in selling established brands to buyers. George will provide insights on what buyers look for when buying brands so you can know what to expect and to do for your business.
Enjoy!
Today we have Craig Lewis a Pinterest marketing fanatics and founder of Pin and Grow where helps e-commerce brands scale using innovative Pinterest Strategies.
You might be scratching your head thinking about how Pinterest can help scale an e-commerce brand. Short story, Pinterest is a social media platform (in Craig's case a powerful search engine) with over 400 million monthly active users. If you drive attention from Pinterest to your shop then that's potential sales right there.
Craig goes in-depth of 101 and 201 on how you can use Pinterest to drive traffic to your site. His strategy incorporates both organic content and paid ads over the long haul.
If you want to experiment with a new social media platform to drive sales or cultivate an omnichannel approach with your brand then you may want to tune in.

Welcome to another episode where we explore the wonderful, fun, and innovative products on crowdfunding sites like Indigogo and Kickstarter,
Today we will explore the Snoppa Rover Electric Stabilization Cinema Dollywhich is a remote-controlled cinema camera. If you want a device that has speeds up to almost 19mph with stability with great image quality (using your DSLR camera for example) then this can be for you.
This episode isn't only to just show how cool this camera is but to explore the idea of creating products that serve to complement an experience or a primary product instead of reinvesting the wheel.
Crowdfunding is an art but it's an opportunity to raise money on an innovative idea that nobody can really copy. With dropshipping people can copy your product in a matter of hours but by innovating your own, it will make things a lot more difficult.
For something as primitive or simple as a notebook, it is one of those things that is never going not going to sell. I think it's because of the fact that humans need something physical to express themselves and find themselves through physical interactions in this ever digitized world.
In this podcast episode, we read and comment on the In a world gone digital, Moleskine still believes in the power of paper article on Retail Dive. The brand Moleskine is mainly known for selling notebooks and is very recognizable on Amazon and when you walk into book stores.
If you think that there is no way to compete in the notebook market then you need to think twice. Yes, it is hard but you need to ask yourself, "how can I innovate or add a unique selling proposition to have people buy my notebook?"
Some examples that people have already come up with are:
We can all wholesale to sell clothes for our boutique or clothing brands. Now the problem is that these pieces of clothing will not be unique. It's definitely possible to have the correct marketing material in play to sell these clothes but to stand out from the crowd or at least give you a better chance to succeed is by innovation.
Can you create a piece of clothing that fixes a problem? Or can you create a design that nobody has seen before or maybe a design that improves your athletic ability? Add a layer of user-generated content and things will get interested according to Jordan Bias who works with online brands in the clothing space through his digital marketing agency Ecom Fluenz.
We have Akshaya, better known as Aksh, is an Indian entrepreneur and digital marketer helping DTC brands in the US and UK scale their business.
In this podcast episode, we will explore the power of user-generated content, the idea of making retargeting ads to get more sales through existing customers, and why organic content is so important for long-term growth!
Established brands that are already making 5-6 figure months are pretty much established and have a proven track record. To stay competitive in the market and reach new customers, one should do paid advertisements (i.e. Google ads, Facebook, etc).
However, many DTC brand owners, according to Cameron Collins, an e-commerce digital marketer, often underestimate the power of email/SMS marketing. It is something people should focus on to get an extra 15-30% revenue growth on essential autopilot.
Once this is established then one can decide, according to their budget, which platform to advertise on and scale to new heights!
As a company and brand, innovation is key. Without innovation and implementation of new technologies, you may fall behind the pack.
NFTs and the metaverses are becoming more mainstream and giant companies are venturing into this web3.0 space to maximize future returns. This sounds crazy but this is the new wave that only benefits both the consumer and the brands.
Listen to see what these brands are doing and why. You can find the article here of where this story was found.
We all know (or do we?) that paid advertising is the best way to scale a business. Organic reach is great but to reach a wider spectrum of people at any given time, paid reach is the best way.
Does that mean that organic content should be ignored after a certain aspect of success in your DTC business? Most certainly no. In fact, Andrea Esamor, a Facebook Ads coach, tells us that it is best to focus on organic reach prior to doing paid ads.
It's normal for DTC brands or dropshipping businesses to go immediately into Facebook ads but her recommendation is to build a foundation via content and connecting with a community. Only until then, you can really start making ads to get more sales. Let's dive into why this is and if this is the right approach for your new DTC business!
There are many ways to sell products online. Shopify, Amazon, Etsy, and so on. Retail arbitrage and flipping products on eBay are the fastest and arguably the best for beginners.
This episode isn't going to have the focus on how to make money off eBay. Instead, it will explore the back story of Shane Myers who is a full-time reseller in a small town in Illinois with a population of about 2,500 people.
There shouldn't be an excuse for those who live in small towns or places where there are no thrift stores to source products from. Shane insists that there are no deep tactical strategies when it comes to retail arbitrage. Instead, it comes from a strong and persistent mindset that will eventually lead you to make a nice income.
I highly recommend checking out Shane's Youtube channel. You'll get insights on how to make money by selling products on eBay.

Is it really possible to make an extra $500 a month, $1,000 a month, or even generate a real primary income by flipping products on eBay and Amazon? In short, yes. Although this might seem too good to be true it is actually a fact. The only thing for this idea to become a reality is to get up and learn because it is not a secret anymore.
Let me explain, so John Muscallero first sold furniture on the Facebook marketplace with the initial thought that the concept of it was completely ludicrous until he started to double his money for each piece of furniture.
After transitioning to selling books on Amazon and eBay he was able to generate a full-time income amongst other businesses he has on the side. One of the key things you'll get from this show today is that all the tools and software are out there to make your reselling hustle a lot easier. The piece of the puzzle that needs to be set is your work ethic and mentality.
We're not in this episode going to really break down the tactics and strategies for making 4-5 figure months reselling on eBay and Amazon. Instead, we're going to focus that this idea can become part of your portfolio if you put in the work based around the area you're living.

Welcome to another episode of the crowdfunding show where we look at projects on Kickstarter, Indiegogo, and more to analyze the cool projects that are seeking backers.
In this episode, we explore an all-in-one toolset, Buddie, that helps you clean your earbuds. Let's be real for a second, your earbuds can get pretty nasty and can be a little embarrassing if you want to let someone borrow them.
This toolset is in the shape of a pen, has all the necessary tips and brushes to make your earbuds look fresh. Now to play devil's advocate, this product is not entirely new as it already exists on other platforms such as Amazon.
Now, why would you want to buy this product if it's more expensive than others and it's going to take much longer to get compared to something that is already out in the market? Well, this team made their product very portable (hard to lose as long as you put it on your keychain) and honed their marketing materials to eco-friendliness.
Billions of wipes, toothpicks, and cotton swabs are wasted every year and Buddie also is aiming to help in that to some degree with their product.

It's easy to say that traditional marketing is dead but that's false to some degree. Marketing at the end of the day is all about getting a potential customer's attention with a call to action of some sort. Either you want them to learn about you, buy from you, or set a little reminder that the brand is still around.
We will see in this episode how brands are using more traditional marketing strategies to get more attention and reach new customers!

I'm really excited for you eCommerce entrepreneurs on this episode. I think what we're about to discuss here, David Perry and I, is going to help your brand tremendously if the right steps are taken of course.
David Perry is the CEO of Carro, a collaborative commerce application on Shopify that will allow you to connect with existing influencers that are already fans of your brand.
You don't need to spend time DMing influencers and things like that because Carro already does that for you. But that's not even the thing that I think is the coolest.
I think it's cool and effective when there are brand collabs or partnerships but this is often seen with 7-9 figure brands. With Carro, they are essentially giving you white-glove service (as an influencer or brand owner) to connect with other brands.
They enable you as the influencer or brand owner to sell each other's brand products that will ultimately lead to a higher average order value and obtain new customers.

Welcome to the first episode of the New Crowdfunding show where we explore the different brands and crowdfunding projects on Kickstarter and Indigogo.
Today we will explore a Kickstarter campaign based off in Amanase, Ghana where the brand/company The Impact Chocolaterie is creating organic, hand-made, vegan chocolate.
They have crowdfunded multiple projects but this one is geared towards their new line of pralines. What's cool is that the chocolates look amazing and their whole factory and packaging have a low carbon footprint.
The factory in which the chocolate is made is solar powered and the chocolate packaging is bio-degradable.
To find the sources of this Kickstarter campaign, please check this link!
Note: The video of the Kickstarter campaign is not our footage and only using it for educational and entertainment purposes. Also, we are not affiliated with this brand or campaign (just a fan of chocolate and branding).

I love this brand, Euphoric Supply, for the aesthetic but there's more than meets the eye. A key passage from the 22 Immutable Laws of Marketing was something along the lines that people don't like something better but something new.
Does that mean reinventing the wheel? In short, no. Euphoric Supply is a DTC brand that sells customized merch wrapped around pop culture and pop art. Some products include customized rugs, branded shoes, fun shirts, collectibles, and NFTs.
Something you'll discover about this brand is that there are no Facebook ads, TikTok ads, Google ads, or any type of advertising. Everything is organic and a large community has been built around Instagram, TikTok, and Twitter.
Every business must have some factor of differentiability between them in the market. If your DTC business is a carbon copy of another winning business then why would people buy from you?
Maybe that will be great for short-term gains but not for the long haul. A unique selling proposition is something that makes your business different such as:
- different brand packaging and delivery times
- different target audience that nobody has tackled yet
- different methods of selling your product (i.e. are other brands on Shopify and/or Amazon)
- does your product come in a bundle with extra added value
- the list goes on and on
Every business should be different so ask yourself, what makes your brand different?
We are here today with Timmy Morris, the founder of Vibe Body Care, a men's hair care brand, to discuss how he went from having 100 units of his private label product to successfully selling on Shopify, Amazon, and getting into big-box stores such as Urban Outfitters.
Things weren't always looking so good in the brand as all entrepreneurs know there are major ups and downs. One of the variables of success, as he will later elaborate in the episode, is the importance of creativity. Creativity cannot be taught but it is something that will differentiate your business from the rest of the pack.
Remember, people like new, not better. Keep that in the back of your head when listening to the episode. Alright, let's jump in!
This is a rant on my two cents of how the metaverse and NFTs can complement and enhance the shopping experience for customers.

Google ads and Facebook ads are great ways to scale an e-commerce business, but as of this moment, TikTok is working wonders for Brenden Stein and the entrepreneurs he is mentoring through his program.

Have you ever thought or heard about utilizing Google ads to scale your e-commerce store?
We have Gary Lim to explain to us how important it is to test other advertising platforms besides the typical Facebook ads from the jump.
For every media platform, there are products that saturate that channel but what if that winning product hasn't been shown on say Snapchat, TikTok, or in this case Google Ads?
This approach is very different but effective as Gary Lim explains how he managed to grow his e-commerce brand making 5-figures/month profit.
We are here once again with Jessica (aka JessiDrop) to talk about dropshipping and marketing to boost your sales.
It's been about 6 months since we spoke and she will break down even further on the latest marketing insights and the real difference between dropshipping and branding and what you ought to pursue.
We've most likely all heard about dropshipping. We've seen people using this model to sell on Shopify, eBay, and now Facebook!
It's fair to say that most of us have Facebook accounts and at least heard of the Facebook marketplace. Think of it as a Facebook feature that allows people to sell products like any other seller's platforms like eBay and OfferUp.
Well, what if you can dropship products on the Facebook marketplace? Is it possible? Can you seriously make money doing that on Facebook?
The answer is yes, and we have Thuewan White to break this down. There are many benefits to leveraging the Facebook marketplace to dropship compared to other marketplaces as you'll learn why in the show.
Today we have Ali Balaghe break down his 20 step process to creating a successful e-commerce business.
The breakdown takes the approach of high due diligence and branding before launching the actual product.
The idea is to find a product that solves a problem and market it to a niche community, validate the product without spending too much capital, create custom packaging, have influencers create user-generated content, and scale with Facebook ads.
If you take dropshipping seriously and not a side hustle then anything can happen.
For Brady Ulmer, it took him 11 months to finally find success in dropshipping. After taking courses, seeking mentors, and investing in himself, he was able to leave his full-time job and generate his own income.
We break down how to successfully find a winning product, make video creatives to advertise, influencer and TikTok marketing, and the importance of having a pristine website.

Let me explain. Back when Tik Tok was on the verge of becoming the platform it is today, Allessandro took the lead of creating an influencer marketing service around the new platform where everyone else was focusing on Youtube and Instagram.
The fact that he found a new category, in this case, influencer marketing for the new platform on Tik Tok, he was able to be a market leader.

Are you looking to create your own digital agency? Or maybe you already started but can't seem to get any momentum.
Luckily we have Jason Fox who is the founder of 4stepconsulting where he helps agency owners get more clients and keep them. He also had his experiences owning an agency of his own as Jason breaks down what is needed to truly get the ball rolling as a beginner.
One of the key things he mentioned was that there are many moving parts in creating a successful agency, but you need to focus on one niche market, one service, one traffic source with one single focus for an entire year.
As you start to scale you can add on more services and platforms in your arsenal but you have to stay focused in the beginning.

Anyone with a following on social media can monetize their page. The idea of having to have tens of thousands of followers to monetize your page can be thrown out the window.
We have Blaise Bowly, who runs a digital agency of his own, break down the idea of selling information to make money.
The best way for a new personal brand or influencer to start making money is to leverage their knowledge to serve a very narrow audience and price their services as a high ticket item. An example can be a fitness instructor helping busy moms between the ages of 30 and 40 to lose 10 pounds within two months in the comfort of their home.
And with personal 1 on 1 call, you can charge your services or even have Zoom video calls demonstrating your workouts.
With this narrow focus, you are marketing your knowledge to a very select group of people and therefore don't need a massive audience.

Making an income by selling t-shirts in the Amazon marketplace is real. In terms of logistics, it's pretty straightforward with a business model called Merch by Amazon where you upload your design for the shirt, and Amazon will supply, store, and distribute it upon a transaction.
This does sound easy though right? But it's not because you have to make designs that the market will like. The way to do that is to find very narrow niches that will make them want to buy your shirts.
Luckily we have RJ Martinez to share how he made over $150k with Amazon Merch and what it takes to do the same.

Facebook ads have been the bread and butter to many eCommerce entrepreneur's sales strategies. If it works for new eCommerce entrepreneurs or even experienced ones, relying on one advertising platform is not a good idea according to Carlos Portal, the Google Ads King who has generated $27M in client revenue.
Having a second form of advertising gives you two things. Saftey and extra revnue. If your Facebook ad account were to be banned then you would still have Google ads as a second means of paid ads. Second is the fact that you will be able to generate more revenue through the power of Google that Facebook cannot offer.
Google should not be underestimated and taken seriously as Carlos has provided crazy results for his clients.

Facebook ads is arguably the ultimate tool for businesses to drive business results to sell a product or service. Here in the US, it can be fair to say that Facebook ads are almost the go-to advertising tool for businesses.
In Australia however, it was a different story according to Liam Casey...at least in the real estate market not too long ago. Right now the idea of Facebook ads is popping off but when Liam first got started with it to help real estate agents get more leads, nobody was too aware of it.
Liam Casey shares how he created his real estate marketing agency, why niching down is important, and how he helps real estate agents get leads.

On this podcast we've might have been guilty of demonizing college to some degree. We don't want to say that college is a bad idea. Instead, we want to emphasize that it can be a bad investment depending on the circumstance.
If you're an athlete and thinking about playing a college sport then that can be a great opportunity to go to college with little to no cost with athletic scholarships. Instagram isn't just a social media platform. In fact, it's a platform where you can leverage your audience and monetize from it.
This can be done by having your own business where you offer your own product or service. of course, you will have to be responsible for the
logistics for bringing the product or service to life, but if you don't want that responsibility you can simply apply a different model.
That model is network marketing where people can simply be in charge of person to person sales and not hold any burden of the good itself.
If you grow your own network marketing team that can assist you with lead generation and closing sales, then that means more money for you.
We are here with Dani Mason who is an online entrepreneur who teaches aspiring entrepreneurs how to monetize their Instagram and building a network marketing business.

Kay Jenkins is a life coach, model, real estate agent, investor, and businesswoman. She believes that you shouldn't limit yourself to one thing and to express yourself as you please.
One of the key things I got from Kay is that at the beginning of your career, in her case real estate, you have to do the boring work and start from zero. But as you get more experience you will be able to be your own boss. However, in a lot of corporations or business environments, she wasn't allowed to fully express herself in and out of the office without someone saying anything negative.
It is her motto to unapologetically express yourself as your personality itself can be the core factor in your success.
If you want to work on what you love and put yourself out in the world without the fear of being hated on, then this episode will provide some gems for you.

Max Karg turns automotive enthusiasts into automotive entrepreneurs. He loves cars and bikes, so what better way to making living off your passion.
Max has created a business where he sells other people’s vehicles for a fixed fee or commission like in real estate. If you don’t know a lot about cars or don’t have the time to sell a car then it can be a real pain to sell your vehicle.
Instead of dealing with that, you can solve that problem by taking care of those tasks. To make the product listing of the vehicle appealing, Max went to great lengths to detail the car, take photos, market the car on 3rd party services, and close the sale.
The beauty of this approach of making money off other people’s cars is again… Max’s passion for cars. All the tasks stated previously can be done in other markets such as real estate, but if that’s boring then why would you want to do it.

There are a variety of ways of making money on Amazon. You can do retail arbitrage, wholesale, private label, and dropship to name a few. Dropshipping items on Amazon has been the go-to strategy for Andrew Giorgi as he now has multiple 6-figure stores.
Andrew Giorgi was able to hit it off with one store, but one of the key things on Amazon is to diversify your portfolio because Amazon can easily ban your account, so if that one is down then Andrew still has other stores he can fall back to while he resolves the issues.
Andrew is a systems guy. He has a team of people helping him scale his Amazon businesses to the point where he is making passive income before he moves on to the next store.

Ecom Dave is a 6-figure Amazon FBA seller and coach who specializes in private labeling. There are a lot of nuances when it comes to building a successful Amazon private labeling brand, but one of the key aspects that Ecom Dave points out is adding a value prop to your products.
You need to differentiate yourself as a seller on the Amazon market place. For example, if you see brands selling yoga mats then you need to find a way to sell yoga mats with a different color that nobody else has or add an extra product such as an accessory of some kind or even a digital product.

You can either consume Instagram or be a creator. Not only can you create content on Instagram but you can monetize it.
Today we're with Nick Ravid to talk about his Instagram growth across his Instagram pages, how you can monetize it through sponsored ads, affiliate marketing, shout outs, and some strategies on Instagram growth.
Right now, there is no doubt that Instagram organic's reach is very low. That's why Nick Ravid, through his experience, believes that you have to pay to play or leverage Tik Tok organic's reach to drive traffic to your Instagram theme pages and grow it.
For an Instagram theme page, the best "pay to play" strategy is to have other pages in your niche or somewhat similar to do a paid shoutout. Doing sponsored Facebook ads isn't the best approach for Instagram theme pages, but having other pages promote your pages was key for Nick.
The Instagram economy is real. A page that has hundreds of thousands of followers can be worth 6-figures. Nick Ravid has an impressive portfolio of Instagram theme pages that has over 7 million followers. All of his pages are assets that can easily be worth 7-figures!

Can your business run like a large corporation with all its personnel, systems, and resources? Joshua Little John is the author of The Marketing Fallacy where he covers how any small business can look like a large corporation without the large costs.
That’s a crazy statement, but after this conversation with Joshua, it blew my mind how certain tools can be used to make your business run like a large corporation. As a matter of fact, Joshua is the founder & CEO of Norgress where he helps small to medium-sized businesses scale by building systems like large corporations.
For example, when Joshua is looking to hire someone, he uses a software tool that does all the work by creating “flows”. He describes that in a bit, but the point is that he and small business owners do not need HR to do this work.
This goes to show how powerful the internet really is. Nowadays you can hire freelancers from around the world that deliver professional work at a fraction of the cost.

Imagine failing for 6 months in a row in dropshipping and seeing all your capital you’ve made from other business ventures go bust? But after trials and tribulations and testing 70 dropshipping products, Andy Mai finally got a breakthrough. Sales started skyrocketing and the rest is history as they say.
Andy Mai is a 7-figure entrepreneur who helps people replace their 9-5 income by creating an online business. His success in dropshipping has brought him to new ambitions of creating a teaching resource like that of Khan Academy and Udemy but with the addition of entrepreneurship.
This is an ongoing project and he shares his journey on his progress and how he is building it. One of the stories he shared was how he was able to acquire the domain name study.com which cost $300,000!
The reason for focusing his attention on his new online learning digital platform was because of a trip he made to San Francisco. He was working with a talented inventor and entrepreneur selling physical products, but he realized that tinkering and inventing products took time. It was better to invest one's time in digital products and selling them online. This was where the idea of study.com came about.

Erick Alvarez is one of the most interesting entrepreneurs I've ever met. As I stated in the podcast I want to do a second part with him because he has an interesting story.
He is an Instagram mogul where he helps people turn their Instagram pages into income. Before he started his digital agency, he worked on multiple projects as a fitness coach and content creator. It was after a training program that he was able to generate sales via Instagram. Before he was struggling to make sales until he decided to invest in himself.
When he was in college, he decided to apply for an entrepreneurship incubator program as he had an idea. Unfortunately, his idea was put off to the side as he was never accepted and his friend was. In anger, he thought to himself that he was going to make his idea come to life without the incubator.
There was a lot of turn of events that made his initial idea turn into reality as he was living a poor lifestyle. Now Erick Alvarez is killing the game on Instagram as he gives us some insight on how we can monetize our pages.

Robert Miller is the CEO of Scalewrx formerly known as Captify Consulting, which is a full-service digital marketing agency for e-commerce stores and entrepreneurs. In his Rober's agency, he applies the S.C.A.L.E Method to double your online business' revenue.
The first step of Robert Miller's method is systems. You need to do create systems in your business that will make your workflow more efficient and automated. For example, if you have an email list, you are going to want to integrate that into your sales funnel and make sure each independent email is sent automatically after a certain action.
Robert believes that there is no secret sauce to generating online sales. You need to have a strategy to meet your business objectives. One cannot simply wander around thinking about things to do day by day. Instead, you need to have an action plan and execute it.

Pauly Long is the founder of MineSet, which is a community-based series of programs that help people live the life they truly want to live. He wants to help people escape the same struggles that he went through to get closer to live the life they want.
If you're in a toxic environment or have friends who don't have the right mindset, then you may fall into that as well. The key is to shift your focus to living a life that makes you fulfilled. In Pauly Long's case, he was hating his job at LA Fitness. When he would go on social media and look at young entrepreneurs in their 20s and even teens making money online he wanted in. His friends at the time were happy with their lifestyles and 9-5 jobs, which is fine but he wanted more.
Ever since then he started to venture off across the country, building a personal brand, and eventually MineSet. One of the first steps of being successful is having a positive thought process. You need to be optimistic and stay stuck playing as a victim no matter what your circumstance is because there's always a way out.

Kristen DiCaprio is a graphic designer who is the CEO and Founder of Aspen Theory. Aspen Theory is a brand strategy and web design studio that specializes in creating intentional brand stories for conscious businesses.
Starting out as a freelancer and doing free work for people to get more experience, she eventually went all-in on Aspen Theory. One of the fundamental things that entrepreneurs and small business owners need to do is know the "why" of their businesses.
Kristen reminds us that without the "why", we are navigating the market without a clear pathway. In other words, we're doing business without core principles that can hinder the possibility of connecting with the target audience.
Color pallets and the aesthetic of your business web page is nice and all, but having that aesthetic without a business objective is useless. It's very challenging to get a metric of how branding can give business owners an ROI, but in the long run, it is essential.

Eric Patel is the Founder and CMO of Edullo which is an affordable, flexible, and personalized learning service for college students. It's like the Fiverr or Upwork for college students. Say, for example, you are a teaching assistant for a college professor. You have a lot more value to offer than just teaching the college material to the student in the lecture hall.
What if you can capitalize your knowledge by putting it out in the market where college students around the world can learn from you. And if you're a college student this can be a great resource to learn the specific and personalized course sets you're taking in your curriculum. It is a platform for the students and by the students.
When discussing with Eric Patel about creating Edullo, we went over how he had to find software developers and how he needed to fill the website with content. It's a service that acts as a middle man to bring in both the students and the teachers into one market place.
Because Eric Patel is also a content creator on Tik Tok with over 270K followers, he is able to drive this traffic to Edullo. Providing as much valuable content that college students want to hear on Tik Tok has been a very marketable approach for Edulllo to get new users.

Mike Lawson is a brand strategist and Co-founder of Brainstorm Africa, which is a digital media agency in the country of Ghana.
We go over social media trends and dynamics in Ghana and how Facebook ads are a massive tool to help businesses get more awareness and sales. When talking about advertising and sales with Mike Lawson, he explains that it is always important to not be "sellsy". Instead, you need to be very informative and be in the customer's mind subconsciously.
When you run a retargeting campaign, you are targeting people who show some signs of interest, so they are more welcomed to the opportunity of buying your product or service.
In developed countries like the US, we are seeing huge social media trends such as Tik Tok and Instagram reels. In Ghana, however, it takes time for these trends to become mainstream. Facebook and Twitter are the hot social media platforms in Ghana, but Mike Lawson always has an eye on what is working in other countries so he can implement it in his business and personal brand.

Gabe Kozel is an entrepreneur and wholesale real estate investor in Pennsylvania and Florida. Before embarking on his real estate journey, he created multiple businesses such as his own clothing brand with his partner. Unfortunately, they had to split due to personal reasons.
After being sidetracked by different business ideas, Gabe Kozel discovered wholesale real estate and stuck to that ever since he attended real estate conferences. One of the things that really helped him become a successful wholesaler was finding a mentor.
It was through his mentor that he learned about SMS marketing and CRMs to automate the workflow. Automation and having systems in place are important, but Gabe Kozel recommends to learn the manual way. It's only after learning the skills the hard way that it is okay to automate your workflow. If not you'll be vulnerable.

In fact, Harry was able to grow his Instagram page to 90k in a matter of 9 months! A big topic that we go over in this podcast episode is the trend of businesses blending with a personal brand. People would rather talk to a human face rather than a logo. With a personal brand, you have more freedom to post content that you want, and that reflects your interests.
You need to differentiate yourself in the market and a personal brand, to Harry Needham's experience, is the best way to do that. Getting indirect leads from content that doesn't have to do with your business is totally possible.

Dan Brag went to great lengths to build the digital agency he has today. One of the topics we covered was that when students learn a topic for a grade, that simply isn't enough. If you were to instead learn something to apply it in a business or project then that will be 100X better.
Learning and applying something, especially for a business, will help you in the real world. A simple letter grade will not suffice.
Dan Brag in that respect learned 7 different programming languages to build websites which he offers as a service. When asked why he doesn't use WordPress, it is because there is a lot of fluff that can make the site slow compared to making a custom one. In addition, he has more functionality and autonomy in making edits to the backend.

In developed countries like the US (where this podcast is based) we may take things for granted, especially for entrepreneurs. We have access to awesome tools, the latest trends, and tech that other underdeveloped countries may not have.
How do we know this? In this podcast episode, we have Gent Huruglica who is a brand creator and the founder of Software Designs and Urban Clothing Line. Gent is from Kosovo, which is a country small country in Southeastern Europe with a population of about 2 million.
Gent Huruglica explains that all the new marketing trends and tools that start in developed countries have a delay effect in underdeveloped countries like Kosovo. As a result, the entrepreneurial know-how and opportunities are so strong like in the US, UK, Australia, Japan, etc.
Despite the hurdles of not having access to the latest tech, tools, and marketing trends, Gent Huruglica was still able to become a pioneer and entrepreneur in his home country of Kosovo. In Kosovo, entrepreneurship is completely foreign and the idea of creating a personal brand is non-existent. This, however, did not stop Gent from growing his personal brand and making money by teaching people design and branding.

Bhavesh Primalani is an entrepreneur and traveler who got an early start in entrepreneurship. One of the first things he did was sales, as he got inspiration from Dan Lok, who is an advocate for selling high ticket items for commission.
People argue that cold emails, cold calls, cold walk-ins, or anything cold are not a way to get sales. Bhavesh Primalani disagrees with this notion as he promotes the idea of cold voice messaging while providing value.
Providing value in a sales pitch while believing in the actual product or service is essential. If you are selling something that you genuinely don't believe is valuable then it's going to be both ethically and challenging.

We had a little set back this week, but not something to worry about too much. Trying to make a team to amplify the Just Retro Waves brand has been challenging so far. Finding friends/family who you can trust, share your vision, and teach them on how to create content for all our social media platforms is not so intuitive as we thought.
Fiverr sent us a 2nd violation for not writing a descriptive job request, and this a little worrying because it will suck to be banned from this really cool service.
Nevertheless, we are communicating with our new team members and sharing the vision with them. In a couple of weeks time, we hope to be more established and creating more content at scale :)

Carlos Fajardo is a young self-made millionaire from Stamford, CT. In middle school and high school, he hustled to make money. One of his first businesses in his early days was to burn songs into CDs and sell them to people who wanted a custom mix. Carlos is technology-driven and with his computer skills, he would fix people's computers that had viruses and things of that sort.
During Carlos' Senior year at the University of Connecticut, he got a summer internship doing actuary science for an insurance company. He absolutely hated it. He wanted out because he did not want to be trapped in a 9-5 job. Having to work in a cubicle like a slave for the next 40 years was not in his plans.
That same summer, Carlos dabbled with Instagram when it was extremely new, and not what it is today. He learned how to buy, sell, and flip pages to make money. Having gotten scammed or making his money back in a couple of investments on Instagram, he decided to make a page of his own. A funny video meme page. His pioneering idea of publishing funny footage from the internet directly from his phone ultimately made him millions.

Oliver Hoyos Dominguez, 28, is a hard-working individual with 2 jobs at the moment. He has an entrepreneurial mindset and aims to be more financially independent with his business ideas and endeavors. Outside of work, he creates content at Generational Waves with Andres as the content creator. His favorite topics are business, personal development, and health.
In this episode, Andres and Oliver talk about making money in the short term by selling products on eBay. Oliver's journey into selling on eBay lasted about a year, where he generated $2,000 net profit over a 6 month period. He explains the hardships of selling on eBay, how he ran the numbers, the time commitment, the process of how he bought and sold products, and his funny story on how he almost got arrested for selling a stolen Microsoft Surface Pro.
Jonathan Boiteux (guest) and Andres (host) talk about debt, mistakes made in the 2010 - 2020 decade, side hustles, poker, and random facts.
Even though Jonathan does not have a huge influential following on Instagram and Facebook, he does have helpful insights on finance and lifestyle. Jonathan (Jon) was able to secure his first bedroom apartment in his early twenties with a goal of saving enough money for a home by 2030. It is fair to say that many people will like to be more independent by living in their own proper space, but with so much debt that college students are collecting it is a challenge.
