TRANSCRIPT INTERVIEW in PODCAST "Day 1.4_For which kind of art would you pay"

Q: For what kind of art would you pay? And for what you wouldn't give any money?

A1: I would definitely pay for books, but I would never pay for art galleries, to see some paintings. I would go to the movies, I mean cinema, but never art galleries, paintings or sculptures.

A2: Generally, I really respect all kinds of art. And I would pay for anything. Somehow, when young people create something, I want to support that. I really think that every work needs to be payed for, but this is where the problem lies. Our economic situation requires us to make a list of what we can pay for and support. I have monthly plans for which I choose who I will support when. For instance, one month I support young writers, the other, designers, the following, illustrators. I really try to support them as much as I can, related to my economic situation.

A3: Some interesting exhibition, definitely. Something weird, that has unique topics or some extraordinary way of art expression. That is exciting for me. And certainly for movies at the cinema, or some big event. Generally, for those things that are not ordinary, thta you can't see everyday. I would never pay for Netflix or YouTube, instead.

A4: When we talk about art, I don't regret giving money. I like to pay for a good play, good concerts, for some band that hasn't been playing in Serbia for a while. Or for some exhibition as well. But I would not pay for plays, events or concerts that are popular but that I don't like. I don't enjoy going to these events for the sake of it. But generally I think that the least money goes to art. I think that we shouldn't think about money when some good event comes.

A5: One of the dark sides of the 21st century is that art has never been as available as it is now. Therefore, there is a lot of piracy going on. Everything is just one click from us, and we can find anything online. I think that we shouldn't lose the habit of paying for something that we like: that way, we support artists that we like and whose work we care about. It is not a big problem to give money for someone's concert, or for some cinema tickets... in that way we support our favourite movie director or band. We should not forget about that habit. No matter if everything is available, nothing can replace a live concert.

A6: When we talk about music, artist and entertainment content, I have to say, no matter how strange this sounds (for a young person), I would never buy a ticket for a music concert. Generally, concerts make me a little bit nervous and anxious. So, I don't like to attend them, unless they from my favourite 3 performers. In any case, I wouldn't spend a lot of money on that, if anything at all. I don't really go to gigs, so I wouldn't pay for that. I don't like crowds. But I would definitely pay for Deezer and Spotify, I think they are good platforms, and economical too. I would also pay for tickets to theatre plays. Theatre makes me happy, and if it's a good play, I would pay 1000, 2000, 3000 dinars (10 to 25 euros). Also Netflix, as I think it is the new cable TV. Honestly, if I lived alone, I could live without cable TV. I would gather information from other platforms. I'm not sure if I would pay for a museum ticket. I know it sounds bad, but well, it is what it is! I don't know if a museum is the first place I would go to if I visit a new place. Of course I would pay for some big mueums like the Louvre, the MoMA, or some museum in Russia or Spain. But that content doesn't interest me now, but I'm sure there is time for everything.

A7: I would pay for...
