In addition to being named Most Competitive Player twice by DePauw and once by the Indiana Collegiate Conference, Frye earned all-conference honors while also being named the shortest starting guard (5’7”) in the nation both junior and senior years. In baseball he was a three-time all-conference player and was named to the first team at second base his junior and senior years. In 1972 he was named to Outstanding College Athletes of America, leading the ICC in batting average, slugging percentage, stolen bases and RBIs. He took up golf and became a scratch player, competing at the top levels in amateur events around the country, and serving on the Board of Directors of the Indiana Golf Association. With a private practice in physical therapy and sports medicine in Fort Wayne, Ind., Frye worked with high school, college and professional athletes. He was a physical therapist with the United States Ski Team at the World Ski Championships in 1998. Join us as Coach Rex Wells helps to keep the nostalgia alive! Just an amazing interview, not only about the 1957-1958 Springs Valley Black Hawks but about a life in the game of basketball and beyond! The book is outstanding, I would love to see it on the big screen! It's called "The Valley Boys: The Story of the 1958 Springs Valley Black Hawks". In the summer of 1957, the Indiana towns of French Lick and West Baden decided to merge two high schools that had been fierce rivals for decades. It was a decision that did not go over well in those divided communities. W. Timothy Wright weaves the gripping story here, chronicling the events that followed the fateful consolidation of two schools and two basketball teams. But an extraordinary first season slowly revealed the team’s fierce determination to win, and the players became a microcosm of the two towns, teaching its citizens how to come together as one united community. As these ten boys and their coaches embarked on an epic journey, filled with valuable life lessons, they had no idea they were about to record one of the most unforgettable chapters in Indiana high school basketball. The Valley Boys shares a story of a special high school basketball team that came together for an unbelievable, unexpected, and historic season. Click here - Order your copy today!

Eric Harmon has spent most of his life with a whistle or striped shirt on. Officiating the 1977 IHSAA State Finals was a treat, as was officiating games as a Big 10 Referee for a career. Eric tells us about how he got into the business, the ups and downs, and the fun of it all. Even a story of Coach K complimenting the officiating crew, and letting Coach Knight know he wasn't going to teach him a history lesson. Also included is how this SAG card member became a part of the movie Blue Chips in 1994. It was early for both of us so forgive us both for sounding like we just woke up.... Over 2 1/2 hours of basketball conversation! We created the Indiana Basketball Wall of Fame for those whose contributions to the game have been above and beyond. We don't compete with the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame, we just hope that those enshrined on the Wall will one day hear their name called to be inducted into the IBHOF.
