Hey everyone, we are still alive and back with episode #118 of Chad & Steve Have a Podcast! We are joined by Robert Dunn (Aging Wheels) and diving into a whirlwind chat that spans everything from camera settings, AI video creation, and the charm of old-school analog photography, to the mixed reactions we've seen in the comment sections.
We also get into the nitty-gritty of car safety, ponder over the beauty(?) and design(?) of things like the Cybertruck, and share our personal stories about handling the good, the bad, and the ugly comments online.
Plus, we can't forget Robert's head-turning cars, run-ins with vehicle regulations, and how politics plays a part in what we drive.

What better way to add to that impressive list of accomplishments, than with an appearance on Chad and Steve have a podcast.
In this episode we talked to JJ about pet ownership and how your state or town isn't as unique as you think it is. And is anyone still interested in fishing?

Vidcon has created a tiered caste system to keep creators as far from fans as possible. This year we went to Vidcon and were surprised how subdued the Vidcon at the convention center was. That's because the REAL Vidcon was a mile away. And they don't want you to know about it.
We didn't realize that our last episode was actually #100. It's okay, this gave us an opportunity to talk about Jill Biden's motorcade, Elvis Costello, and the commoditization of art.
In this episode we talk about air travel, how waiting in lines turns some people into toddlers, and how anti-clickbait titles might be a new trend on YouTube. Maybe? Lol, probably not.
In this episode, we talked about the future of YouTube Shorts. Plus, Chad recently golfed at Pinehurst and we learned about left-handed golfing. Finally, the absurdity of smoking.
Check out this video by Sabine Hossenfelder for a really good overview on where we are right now with AI and where it is likely to head in the near future. Do we really need to learn anything if AI can do things for us? Chad and Steve also discusses Steve's 15th YouTube anniversary, the ridiculousness of brand loyalty and brand boycotts. And Fuck Cupcakes!
In this episode, we talked about, "How Designer Brands Keep You Poor", a recent video from Cara Nicole and how hyper-consumerism is getting people to buy products we really can't afford and don't need. (i.e. tools and cleaning products). And how they get you to buy into their subscription services to support corporate brands.
This week Chad discussed his radical new approach to work and sleep and Steve is now an ai evangelist.
We also talked about using urinals in all-gender restrooms. Should stalls be the future? And for god's sake, stop using those dumb ass gaskets!
In this episode we talked about the Mr. Beastification of YouTube and how this led to so many bland copycats. We're pretty sure that his videos are exactly what AI would create because they are designed to appeal to a machine. And we began this episode with a story about how Steve managed to rescue a small cat. In fact, we even had beauty tips, making this the most YouTube-retro podcast ever.
Jon Peters joined us this week to talk about his long running YouTube channel, art, and how art galleries work.
Jon's YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/@JonPetersArtHome
We're talking about the new Brooke Shields documentary (Pretty Baby: Brooke Shields) and how today's children are exploited by parents for clicks and views. Or kids are just allowing algorithms to do the job.
In this episode, we learn about face tattoos, how maple syrup is harvested, and the unusual occurrence of seeing someone smoking a cigarette. And does WOKE actually mean anything?
In this episode we talked about the irony of influencers having to sit through a 45 minute ad. And Chad is a chaperone. Plus, are you willing to pay to watch YouTube videos?
In this episode we talked about how Chad bought Instagram followers, and how that works. And assistants for bigshot YouTubers.
We each returned from professional conferences. In this episode we tell about the wonders of attending such events. Oh and if you haven't seen Poker Face, check it out, especially if you like Columbo. Oh and some thoughts on hyper-consuming. And remember, "If you ain't' earnin', you ain't turnin'"
In this episode we played a quick round of "Keep it or ditch it", talked about YouTube getting a new CEO, Steve transcending YouTube, and ai generated comment. Bow to your content robot overlords!
We talked about Louis CK, How the YouTube algorithm strips creators of our souls, Madonna, Music, and Crypto scams.

We're back with another episode of Chad & Steve Have A Podcast! And this time we are talking about the general sense of frustration with YouTube and social media in general these days. What a bold choice of subjects for Chad Reynolds and Steve Ramsey to talk about.

His wonderfully listenable voice is paired with stunning stop motion graphics which leads to a super satisfying viewing experience for his audience of 1.3 million subscribers who tune into watch Chris explain things or build things or collect things.
For some viewers, the real stars of the channel are Ralph and Bella, Chris's 2 cats who make regular appearances and are treated to some of the most spectacular cat experiences one can imagine - from elaborate cat forts and bridges and mazes to, well, 1,460 pouches of food.

In July of 2011, Jill Bearup posted an unassuming video of herself singing a beautiful acapella rendition of Want You Gone from Portal 2. She continued posting commentary and video essays about a wide range of pop culture, movie and tv topics including a popular series about stuff she likes called, Stuff You Like and a series on the history of fan fiction.
But her life would change when she saw The Last Jedi in the cinema and decided she wanted to learn how to fight like people in movies. So she took courses in stage combat and 18 months later started making videos about it. Her YouTube channel went from 23,000 subscribers to a silver play button in two months. And now, just a year later, Jill’s channel has over 350,000 subscribers, it's her full time job, and she makes videos about stage combat, movie fights and murder dresses.
Jill Bearup is a testament to perseverance on YouTube. Keep cranking out quality content that you believe in and eventually, you can hit upon something that strikes a chord with a lot of people. Her content is fun, lively and informative…you can tell she loves what she does. And the best part? We get to learn about boob armor and how to hide a sword in a dress.

His name is Graenolf and he makes weird skits happen on YouTube. Before that he made gaming videos - building an audience of over 400,000 subscribers before turning his attention away from listicle videos and towards short comedy videos in 2018.
As seemingly drastic as the change was, his new videos still focused mostly on video game culture and references, but steadily, over time, Graenolf introduced a broader range of subjects to his content.
His audience approved and the channel has grown to over 800,000 subscribers with 170,000,000 video views and a wonderfully unpredictable stream of quirky videos and more serious content like Callback - a short film which was released just last month.

Matthias joins us for a third time to discuss trying out clickbait titles on his videos, the current state of woodworking content on YouTube, short form video and the slow decay of the YouTube "community vibe" that was once nurtured on the platform back in 2014-2016.
We also chat about net worth websites being the most inaccurate things ever, question the stability of his new shed and ask if this is indeed the most uninteresting episode of Chad & Steve Have a Podcast.
So, is that true?
