And The Safe House, a podcast based on exploring masculinity from various perspectives. A safe space for candid conversations advocating for Black Men. Featuring Freddy Jones and Brother Interesting.
This podcast is designed to enlighten and inform those who are attempting to co-exist with people who don’t cooperate.
This podcast is not to bash or dimmish anyone male or female, bur simply to create and open dialogue and engage in viable solutions to situations that majority of co-parenting relationships engage in. So if we accidently step on your foot, just ouch!
Co-parenting is a post-divorce parenting arrangement in which both parents continue to jointly participate in their children’s upbringing and activities. This involves a substantial amount of interaction between the parents (both in public and in private).

We also had the pleasure of talking with National Black United Front national chairman @kofitaharka giving us the history of the 25th annual NBUF caravan to the ancestors taking place on October 15th in Galveston TX.
Scholar, activist, speaker and organizational consultant Prof. Smalls tells GHH his history in the movement starting with his family roots in South Carolina, his time in the US military, being Malcolm X’s sister Ella Collins personal bodyguard as well as his experiences in the Organization of Afro American Unity and his time as an Imam in Muslim Mosque Inc. founded by Malcolm X. Prof. Small has an extraordinary journey that lead him to being a practitioner and teacher on the traditions of African Spirituality.

Beginning with the storming of the capital we ask a question echoed amongst Black Americans: “What would have happened if Black people did that?” We took a look back at The Black Panthers storming of the capital in 1967 and compared their well organized and legal demonstration with firearms and compared it to what we witnessed on January 6, 2021. From there we explored the legacy of Donald Trump and how this presidency will be remembered. In this episode we cover J. Edgar Hoover and the impact of COINTELPRO. Through his 50 year career, Hoover was instrumental in derailing Black Liberation movements and leaders stretching from Marcus Garvey to Huey Newton. The creation of COINTELPRO was birthed during Cold War but became a weapon aimed at civil rights activist amongst others. We touch on some of the most nefarious acts including Martin Luther King's suicide Package, the 1969 killing of 2 Black Panthers on UCLA campus as well as the exposure of COINTELPRO through the burglary of the FBI field house in Media, Pennsylvania.

The Tuskegee Study of Untreated Syphilis in the Negro Male informally referred to as the "Tuskegee Syphilis Experiment," the "Tuskegee Syphilis Study," the "Tuskegee Study of Untreated Syphilis in the African American Male," was an unethical natural history study conducted between 1932 and 1972 by the United States Public Health Service (PHS) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The purpose of this study was to observe the natural history of untreated syphilis; the African-American men who participated in the study were told that they were receiving free health care from the federal government of the United States.
In this episode we covered the origin of the study, break down the characters involved and break down the methods used by co conspirators the continue this experiment for 40 years.

In this episode we take a look at the upward mobility of Black Americans during the reconstruction era with returning special guest, 'Scholar' Freddy Jones. During these triumphant years freed slaves rose to assimilate American society and excel at a rapid pace. We explore the political influence starting with Robert Smalls being elected as a senator followed by a multitude of Blacks elected to office and serving as congressmen. The conversation examines the reconstruction plans of Andrew Johnson, Abraham Lincolns ideas and breaks down the impact that the Radical Republicans led by Thaddeus Steven’s on Freed slaves social mobility. During this time the prestigious HBCU’s Fisk and Howard were founded and Blacks donated over $700,000 towards the building of schools. The conversation leads us from the end of the civil war through the depression and ultimately brings us up the The Compromise of 1877.
