Oh my Father, open our eyes that we may see.......but more importantly, open our hearts that we may know.......
counting the cost was yesterday's news, it's an absolutely absurd thought to one consumed within by the fires of the Living God.
And seekest thou great things for thyself? Seek them not: for, behold, I will bring evil upon all flesh, saith the Lord: but thy life will I give unto thee for a prey in all places whither thou goest.
The life we live, my friends, each of us, is being read. We are not going through the world unnoticed. Some one is always looking on. Our life each day is being written down in some memory; someone's heart.......someone, somewhere. Those who read our lives have a way of reading between the lines; for all men can see in us, the lambs of the Living God; a Light, and a Word that they don't quite know how to accept, yet can not hide from either.
This is a simple and powerful idea. It suggests that time is an emergent phenomenon that comes about because of the nature of our entanglement. This tells us that time is a function of life; not the other way around.......in God, we already possess life, but Christ, as Alpha and Omega, emerges from this living entanglement as the time that we posses; and thus, as the ultimate purpose and direction of our life.
.......as i read the accounts of the songbird's funeral today, one thought kept circulating, round and round between my heart and my mind.......it came from an old song; 'send in the clowns...don't bother, they're here'.......
Our Lord opens the heart of God to us, more than any song ever sung.......more than any story ever told.......more than any scripture ever written. In Him God reveals Himself in tears and blood; that we may see.......that we might know that He does not want to be God apart from us. He does not want to be a distant or unknowable God.......so He came Himself, that we might see and know God with man; God in man; and God as man.......that we might come, once again, to know Him as He truly is.
All this teaching.......we have books, videos, music, and huge churches with fantastic light and sound shows, yet, for so many; when the music stops, there is nothing.......no deeper walk; no truth; no life.......no rhythm.......because there is only hearing; but there is no doing.
our very being, our ideas of who we are, are wrapped in wonder.......because wonder is a connecting point between us and our creator.......
When our lives become an ongoing expression of small, individual acts of delight, then delight becomes us.......
our very claim of oneness with the Living God tells us, in screaming letters, that He is not only our Life.......but our moments that comprise that life as well.
And the importance of knowing who you are.......who each of us truly is.......is that it is only then, my friends, after we are awakened to these truths within us, that the journey truly begins.
in the beginning we were one with God, our Creator.......He lived within us and we lived within Him.......we had an intimate relationship with Him, and this intimacy extended throughout creation.......
Psalm 143:5.......I remember the days of old; I meditate on all thy works; I muse on the work of thy hands.
All those who walk this path of living love will be tried to the very uttermost.......wherein, the failings of our lives, as we strive and fail, become just so many dead selves that we leave behind, as they die.......while we walk on, rising, ever new into Him.......almost, as if from life to life.
as we breathe in His Spirit for our life.......so do we return this life to Him in the living respiration of prayer
the mystery of the fire changes the character of our being.......from a mystery of darkness, into a mystery of light
Zechariah saw these things in his time, and across time.......and he cried out against them, for all time.
