Growing up a welfare kid of an incarnated father, Tyler had very little of his own. While pursuing a biochemistry degree(to prove to his high school that he wasn't the stupid acting kid they said he was) Tyler begrudgingly opened a custom auto shop. This auto shop would go from a one-man operation founded with 4 thousand dollars to a multimillion-dollar multiple-location business. Think pimp my ride, his shop had clients such as the rolling stones, WWE, CNN, and a laundry list of others. As cool as this all sounds a medical issue would force a sale and in reflection, he realized it was an almost 10-year mistake. Yes, success in everyone else eyes but Tyler's. Over the last two years, he’s helped over 50 would-be or struggling entrepreneurs. He now feel like he’s doing his life’s work.

My theory is that we create pressure and a fear of ridicule in ways that teenagers stop sharing their dream jobs and fall into a default response of "I don't know what I want to do." John started out wanting to be a meteorologist but quickly found out that the math wasn't for him. At the same time his car failed state inspection so he bought a book on how cars worked then went to tech school. 35 years later, he's happy to say that it was one of the best decisions he's made in his life. He started off with lower level positions such as C tech and shop foreman up to service manager and director of education for a software company. When Nicole was in the 9th grade she decided that she wanted to study interior design in college, which would require her to submit a fine arts portfolio along with the college application. The only thing was that she was terrible at fine arts but she was determined to make her dream a reality. She enrolled in every art class, attended a summer college program for high school students, and after much determination and practice, earned her BFA in Interior Design from Syracuse University. From there she earned an MA in Design Management from the Savannah College of Art and Design. She admits that the workforce hasn't been easy as she has hit many barriers trying to advance in a career as a WOC in a field where not many people look like her. But she's happy to say that at age 29, she works in a leading role at a top Interior Design Manufacturer. Enjoy!

Mike Hudzik grew up in an economically disadvantaged community. The people in the community did not have college degrees and the children did not dream about attending college. But, Mike was extremely intelligent and excellent at math and science. So, the other kids in the neighborhood looked up to him and would turn to him for answers when they wanted to know how things worked. Mike was always fascinated with learning how things worked and he loved researching the topics that his friends wondered about and then being able to explain things to them.
Because of his interest in math and science, he pursued an engineering degree. He has a master's degree in mechanical engineering. He has loved working at our company, Aerotech, since he was hired for an engineering R&D position in 2010. Our CEO admired Mike for his outgoing personality, intelligence, creativity, hard work and ambition. He recently promoted Mike to a supply chain manager role, which is actually an engineering job at my company. Aerotech stakes its reputation on the quality of its precision motion and automation products and manufactures all of its products at the corporate headquarters in Pittsburgh to maintain its exceptionally high quality standards. The company is now starting to explore opportunities to outsource small segments of its manufacturing process. Mike is responsible for finding vendors who can adhere to Aerotech's stringent quality standards and then training them in how to manufacture our products.
Although engineers are rarely extroverts, Mike has a fantastic, friendly, easy-going personality!
