Are you choosing to stay silent and appease everyone else and their beliefs or do you want to step out of the shadows, express your true self, potentially suffer some backlash, but find internal freedom?
Today's episode is a continuation of last episode talking about our experiences sharing our political views and who we ultimately decided to vote for and why. We understand it's a charged time right now and we even saw some of the ramifications from a Veteran's Day email we sent out at Cured. We'll discuss how you can start taking steps towards internal freedom and why we don't regret our decision.

It's been a very tiring and emotional week for everyone and we only want to speak for ourselves and our own opinions in this episode. If you're here, we know you seek a deeper truth and understanding that doesn't come from surface level gaslighting and legacy media propaganda.
We voted for what we believed would be best for our children and our world and we want to share our thoughts. We'll also talk about understanding our own biases, how Lauren was a "never Trumper" earlier in life, Elon's interview on Rogan, and more.

Lauren is joining us back on the podcast and we want to share the birth story of Elijah Joseph Sheehey and some of the reflections and lessons we had during this second pregnancy compared to the first with Ember.
While nothing truly prepares you for this phase of life, if you are a parent or want to be a parent in the future, we hope this conversation gives you some insight that not many people share, especially with the stark contrast of birth experiences we encountered.
We also share how Ember is handling the new transition to a family of 4 and how we still want her to feel prioritized, loved, and receive quality time with each of us during Elijah's infant stage.

Are your dreams taking longer to materialize than you anticipated? Do you feel like you're doing all the right things and losing a little of your spark and motivation when it comes to your dreams? It's time we had a reality check about what it truly takes to succeed and, if you have big dreams and goals, how consistency is the number one factor of success.
I've been at this entrepreneurship game now for almost 7 years and I have my moments of discouragement too. I compare myself to others thinking "why are we not further along this this?" I have to remind myself what I'm going to talk to you about today.
We're going to cover the consistency principle, real statistics from our company Cured as an example, remind you of the incremental steps in the process, how to be consistent on the right things, and much more.

If you believe the road to what you want in life is paved with difficulty and full of challenges and obstacles, there's a strong probability that's exactly whats going to happen. I'm not saying believing the opposite will remove any and all obstacles in your pursuit but it will change your perspective on how to move forward.
For those who know of Ember's birth story, it was extremely difficult for us and on her. Luckily, she made it through that part and is doing beautifully now. The birth process of our son Elijah had a lot of uncertainty as well which we will unpack when Lauren is back on the show in the next week or two. We went into his birth process with a different belief structure which is what I want to talk about in today's episode.
In today's episode, I want to talk about how your beliefs shape your perception of reality, the idea of projection, why writing down your beliefs is critical, and more.

Baby E will be making his way earth side any day now and we wanted to record an episode together asking each other 3 questions each. Our main focus right now with our masterclass and a lot of our content is surrounding relationships because we believe with the work we've put into our relationship along with receiving so many questions regarding relationships, it's our proud duty to share everything.
We dive into what it looks like to work on the relationship vs in the relationship, why emotional support from the male perspective is the solution more often than not, Lauren's fears at the beginning of our relationship vs now, and so much more.

With Baby E arriving any day now, we wanted to bring you one of our favorite series! Enjoy!
What is the most important aspect of a deeply fulfilling life? A true and intimate connection with other people and most importantly: our intimate partner. This intimate connection must be cultivated, nurtured, and tended to on a consistent basis to grow to its ultimate potential.
In today's episode and Part 1, we are going to discuss 5 impactful practices for growing in love. We are going to cover why weekly check-ins are vital, the need for identifying personal and relational core values, identifying the why and what, what "turning towards" truly means, and Jospeh's kink phrase taking personal responsibility.
Be sure to subscribe and stay tuned for our next episode where we'll dive into the last 5 practices and let us know which ones you will start incorporating!

Fear is a mile wide and an inch deep but as we approach big life and work decisions, that reality fades and we conjure up worst case scenario steps that ultimately lead to zero in our bank account and death. What's the best way to approach these type of decisions and not fear swirl, leading to anxiety and inaction?
In this solo episode, I (Joseph) will take you through my process for making big decisions that include defining the ideal outcome, the steps involved, what could go wrong, and more.
It's important to look at the major angles to make the best decision possible but we know far too many that overanalyze and don't take necessary action. Make the decision from an informed place and sprint.

Are you seeking that "unicorn" relationship? The one that checks all the boxes? For your other half, that's an admirable strategy. What about your other relationships? Are you using the same strategy for friends and acquaintances that may be leaving you feeling lonely?
In today's episode, we're going to dive into the concept of purpose driven relationships and how beautiful differences add and enrich the dynamic of our connections and our lives. We haven't always had the biggest community and friend circle but we've worked on it and a perfect example is in our neighborhood where we are getting to know more people and forming those important bonds.
We'll also discuss a recent dog attack and Joseph's response, the boundary setting process, what makes a purpose driven relationship, and more!

What does an unbreakable bond look like to you? What characteristics embody an unbreakable bond? Do you have an unbreakable bond with yourself?
These are some questions we wanted to tackle on today's episode along with the idea of the Cartesian Crisis that describes the inability to be sure of anything—scientific claims, the basic facts of historical events, the degree to which a consensus is actually accepted by others. Understanding the potential roles of discourse and absolutes in belief especially around our political climate right now is important to talk about. We'll also talk about child rearing, core values and purpose of course, and where we both stand with sharing our political views on social media.

As we're in the epicenter of potentially the most important election cycle of our time, it's important to remember how skilled marketers and storytellers are when crafting their emotional message and how many individuals believe it if they see it enough in the media. It's no secret that MSM favors one party over the other and with recent monumental shifts occurring, we're at a pivotal moment.
The concept of emotional marketing also exists in business as we at Cured are always doing our best to paint the picture of a brighter future where individuals feel their best, stress less, and live more. We've backed that up for the past 7 years with consistent quality fulfillment of our products and education. You need both components to succeed long term. This also ties into motivation which we'll discuss specifically in relationships and Jospeh's favorite phrase: personal responsibility.

We don't often talk about our business Cured on this podcast but we wanted to today because it ties in so well with the main through line of this episode. As we prepared for our 7th anniversary at Cured, we wanted to discuss some of the inner workings that play into attracting and nurturing customers and the story arc and process we use to go about this with emails, ads, and other advertising avenues.
This is the same heart led, experience focused approach that allows us to really understand the perspective and perception of those who would benefit from our products. This is also extremely important in our lives and in our relationships. Too often we overlook someone else's perspective and may even have the opposite perception of a goal. We'll dive deep into these concepts along with insecurity, monk mode and prioritization, a lot of parenting thoughts, and more!

To look into the future, we must look into our past and the uncomfortable truth is we must break our unaligned patterns that don't serve our future selves. A perfect illustration of this is our relationship and the evolution it has gone through from beginning to its incredible place now.
We dealt with a lot of codependency issues which we'll share both of our perspectives and the change in our responses from then to now. It's important to understand and identify your experience so you can start to break the pattern.
If you are a dog lover, get the tissues out because we also dive down a rabbit hole around soul dogs and the crushing emotional blow we experience when they pass.

As we continue to dive deeper into our spiritual learnings and epiphanies, we wanted to record this episode to expand on some of the topics we've discussed in previous episodes but bring a central concept to the forefront: following your golden thread.
In WTHN, we teach our students how to audit their lives and their core values and realignment naturally follows, removing what is now misaligned through this process. One of the hardest parts of achieving your greatest success is understanding your current sacrifice, seeing and comparing what others are doing whether in life or in business, and still doing what's required of you in this season to reach YOUR goals. We'll talk about both of our perspectives in this area along with how listening to your intuition is the everlasting link to God or source.

So many events have happened recently at home and abroad and today's episode is a spontaneous deep dive on our modern political landscape and how we've changed our minds over the years. When we solidified our core values and used them as a filter for decision making processes, this also included our political beliefs.
Whether you agree with us or not, we are here to have an open and transparent discussion because right now, this is the world we are creating for our children and subsequent generations. It's an incredibly important time in our history and we believe leading with curiosity and honesty will unify us going forward. We would love to hear your insights and perspective as well!

NOTE: This episode was recorded before July 13th and political issues are discussed with no reference to the events that transpired.
Do you have undeniable self-belief in what you're pursing in the future because you are apart of it? Whether it's your relationship, business, family, or another part of your life, this can absolutely be the key ingredient to your success. Not only daily success but playing what we discuss as the "infinite game".
Are you playing finite games or the infinite game? If you are playing the long game, have you operationalized it with how you think and approach your life? Today's episode is a wide ranging conversation with our thoughts after watching the debate, spending time in perspective, and pondering how long our society can operate the way it's currently been run.

What immediately comes to mind when you hear the word courage? How are you demonstrating courage in your life? How tightly are you holding on to the way you want things to go when you know how unpredictable life can be?
In this episode, we're going to continue our discussion around some of the decisions we've made recently, how those decisions are playing out, and taking you back in time to Lauren's high school days to set the frame around courage.
We'll then discuss how to create more courage in your life, understanding the impermanence of everything in life, demonstrating courage when called to, and more!

If you listened to our last two solo episodes, you know that we recently made a pivot with WTHN and, for the first time, approaching life in a new way. For our detailed perspectives, definitely go check those episodes out.
In today's episode, we wanted to catch up with each other and discuss how are lives are looking different since we made that decision and what we are learning when it comes to operating through the peaks and valleys of life. We discuss controlling your state, facing your shit, the concept of man'ing down at certain times, and much more.

Wrapping up our 2 part solo series on uncertainty and purposeful pivots, Joseph gives his perspective and insight on recent thoughts in life and business and how this can apply to your life as well.
If you feel like you're forcing something or something isn't working, this very well could be an indication that a higher energy is calling you. Whether that is something completely new, a call to step up your game and output in a certain area, or a calling to slow down, it's important to interpret this feeling the way you need to in order to life your best life.
Joseph discusses what opening space has allowed not only for him but for Lauren and Ember as well. If the question you've been asking yourself recently is "is it time to do it differently?", allow this episode to guide you to what that might look like for you.

What initially was intended to be a beautiful conversational episode between us this week was not to be as our audio recorder only got the first 3 minutes of our hour long conversation and this plays into our back to back solo series we decided to do instead.
A lot has been going on in both of our lives recently and we've had some hard decisions to make in business and navigating a lot of uncertainty. This is the first time we've ever taken a step back instead of pushing through and we want to discuss why and how this applies to you.
In Part 1, Lauren will share her recent struggles with uncertainty and surrendering to what's meant to be. She'll share some updates on the pregnancy, the pausing of WTHN, and a prayer she's been focused on recently that hopefully inspires you as well.

If there is one area or topic we are asked about the most, it's our relationship. What we've built together can't be fully expressed with words but it wasn't always this rock solid. It wasn't until we became crystal clear on our core values that things started to shift.
It's time we open up more about our relationship and what it takes to have a secure base to count on as well as what co-creation truly looks like. Whether or not you are building a business together or have a family, you are co-creating the relationship with each other and that is typically overlooked work that shouldn't be.
In today's episode, we share when we knew we found "the one" in each other (it's a great story), the importance of core values and being able to hold a mirror for your partner reflecting those, how unspoken expectations are a giant roadblock in growing relationships, and more.

After wrapping up our 3rd round of our 4 month intensive program, announcing the winner of our full ride scholarship, and taking discovery calls this week, we thought this would be the perfect opportunity and episode to talk more about the opportunity to work with us in an intimate capacity with like minded individuals pursuing something greater in their lives.
We continue to iterate and innovate our program and what we've found is our hybrid model brings the best of both worlds with community and deep personalization to a group program. We discuss this in depth.
We also wanted to talk about many of our past students, their experiences, lessons, and wins, and highlight who specifically this program is for. If it sounds like we are speaking directly to you, this is your invitation to take the next step and get on a call with us.
Finally, we talk more specifics, curriculum, communication and interaction, and more that our students receive. This program is so close to our hearts because we know what it feels like to not pursue a life that is out of alignment or living a life void of wholeheartedness.

Have you've tuned in to your true calling in life? Have you heard the whispers? Are you avoiding the pursuit of your true calling because… what if it fails? What would that mean?
This is not an easy path to walk and we have both been in places in the past where we were merely surviving and moments we didn't want to be here anymore. After many painstaking years, we both love where we are at and the pursuits we get to chase everyday.
In this episode, we're going to discuss finding your purpose and your calling and what that looks like to pursuit it wholeheartedly. We'll share examples from both of our lives, the soul beauty of dogs, when it's a wrong turn vs when it just feels uncomfortable, and more.

One of the greatest predictors of success in your life will come down to the amount of decisions you act on and use the feedback and data to make improved decisions. What stops us? In today's modern age, the amount of information and disinformation constantly bombarding us is a real threat to living our best lives.
In today's episode, we talk about a few key topics surrounding this idea of information overload specifically when it comes to the nutrition space and dogmatic dietary approaches but also in life.
We also talk about the idea of adaptive perfectionism vs maladaptive perfectionism which you'll want to soak in and internalize. We also have a big announcement at the end of this podcast. If you've ever wanted to work with us 1-1, this week is your opportunity. You can find out more about WTHN and our upcoming scholarship on this podcast and following us on Instagram.

The work is never done and if you have followed us for any length of time, you know we are students of mastery and continually growing into the next version of ourselves. This doesn't come without frustration, grief, and questioning whether we're on the right path at times. It's important to remember the work never ends and we will die working on of our lives one day. This is the invitation to find meaning in that struggle.
In today's episode, we're going to catch up with each other and invite you into our conversation as we share what we are currently struggling with, what we are growing into, our vision for the future and amplifying our self-expression, and, if you feel called, how to allow us to help you in your journey with your relationships and defining success on your terms.

The second edition of our Coaching Corner series addresses an issue we've seen a lot inside our WTHN cohorts and something we've had to navigate as well. What do you do when life feels "good enough" but doesn't feel great?
This "meh" feeling when it comes to your life will eventually show to those around you and how you perform. Many reasons can contribute to this but one worth highlighting is reaching a certain point whether that is income, status, or a level of stability, still wanting more, and having guilt and shame creep in and having thoughts like "I should be grateful" or "others have it a lot worse".
We'll navigate these concepts through sharing our own lives along with 2 specific individuals we are currently coaching inside of WTHN to give you real life examples of individuals just like you. Lauren will leave you with a powerful journal prompt you won't want to miss at the end.

In both of our lives, there have been periods void of God and Source and after reflecting on those periods of life, it was never quite the same. We've both had periods of life where we felt completely empty or disqualified from God's love and no matter your spiritual beliefs or religious practices, we think you'll gain a lot of value from this conversation and tapping into the power of faith.
In today's episode, we'll be diving deep into spirituality and how this plays such an important role in finding your purpose driven life. We both discuss our upbringing being raised Catholic, both of our paths in and out of spiritual alignment, and share how we conceived Ember and how it ties all together.
How do psychedelics and cannabis play into this conversation? You'll have to press play to find out!

Stepping away from something that you deemed no longer serves you is an incredible feat of courage and can ultimately leave a void for us to navigate. What do I do with the void? Will I slip back into old patterns because it's familiar? Do I sit in the discomfort of the void?
We were asked this beautiful question from our community and this is something we see incredibly often with our students in WTHN when they get clear on their MVP and their core values.
First, we check in on mama and talk about how baby is doing and differences so far between pregnancies. Then, we dive into this question and discuss the fundamental question, "Who do I need to become?" This will answer most if not all questions going forward and you'll want to listen in to find out why.

The majority of the individuals we work with inside of WTHN and chat with in our DM's want to start something of their own whether it's a solopreneur venture or an entrepreneurship journey to build, scale, and lead others. There's a reason why only 8% of the population commits fully and is successful in this route because it is very difficult and not for everyone.
For those who want to avoid or course correct on the big mistakes that many first time or seasoned solopreneurs or entrepreneurs fall into, this episode is for you.
We discuss the top 3 mistakes we've either done ourselves in the past or that we see with our students. These mistakes are both tactical and philosophical and the very reason we built WTHN is to provide you with the internal operating system to push past these very mistakes.

One of if not the biggest hurdle we help our clients in WTHN overcome is the feeling of being stuck and subsequently how to gain momentum in their lives. We've given a lot of thought on how to best share our coaching process with you on this platform and give you real world situations with individuals just like you so we decided on a once a month Coaches' Corner style of episode.
In this first edition, we explore getting unstuck and gaining momentum. You've heard us talk about momentum before on this podcast but what does it look like in real life?
We take one of our past coaching clients (let's call this individual "C") and share how she felt stuck in her life in a relationship that had opposing values and goals, the difficult conversations she had, and what ultimately led to her explosion in momentum not only professionally but personally and how she showed up in the world.

We decided we needed a lighthearted episode this week and give you a chance to get to know us on a fun, different level!
We both have 4 questions we are going to ask each other on the spot without telling each other beforehand and we loved doing this type of episode together.
Stick around until the end where we have a lively debate on the biggest question facing modern marriages today: how to properly fold t-shirts.

What is your definition of power? Definition of success? Have you explored your own definitions outside of what society says?
I (Lauren) had said a few weeks ago that I have no desire to be a boss bitch but that statement needed some clarification and some extended dialogue that we'll cover in today's episode.
In our relationship dynamic, Joseph is the one that is seen as strong, confident, masculine, making big business deals, leading the charge of a large company.
He makes the power moves, I make the pancake animals. He writes business plans, I write poetry.
I'm overlooked until members of our community become students and witness the depth of my education, knowledge, and skillset in business and psychology.
I believe that society, social media, and hustle culture conflates boss bitch with results; but the first isn't the only pathway to success.
We'll discuss in more detail our feelings on this subject, getting comfortable with being misunderstood, reclaiming your power, and more.

What keeps people stuck?
A question that came up in bed between us recently as we were thinking about how we can help our students in our coaching program WTHN.
Feeling stuck in life, your career, your relationships, or any other part of your life can feel hopeless and disheartening and not knowing WHY only adds to the frustration and negative self-talk.
The reason we stay stuck is because our self-worth will always be our ceiling and the scripts running in the background will affirm our current thoughts and actions.
It's when we are finally able to break through to another level we start the process of being unstuck and we're truly making progress towards the life of our dreams.
Where do we start? What is a process you can use starting today?
This episode is one to save and come back to again and again as we discuss the art of reparenting, reframing, and rewiring and understanding what past versions of us need healing. This is the work that will lead to freedom and fulfillment.
You are not alone in this pursuit so please reach out to us with any questions or thoughts!

Today's episode is a heavy one with an incredibly important lesson tied to it. Many of us hit rock bottom, but not all of us climb back up to the light. We swirl around the drain a few more times, a few more years, or many more years. Whether it's one event that takes us to rock bottom or it happens in gradual stages, finding the ladder is our ticket out of it.
Joseph shares a past tragedy that happened in his family, the mission that his aunt Colleen embarked on due to this tragedy, and why this was a pivotal moment of understanding a mission driven mentality in his life.
We'll then discuss the idea of demolition in life and why, for most, some fallout or crisis sparks this change and, without it, we are too comfortable to take the leap to something new and uncertain.

In this episode of Cured Collective Podcast, we have the opportunity to sit down with Paul Austin, the founder of Third Wave. Paul is a leading voice on the use of psychedelics for personal growth, creative insight, and professional transformation. His vision is to help facilitate our society’s transition from a competitive, zero-sum mindset to a collaborative, social entrepreneurial approach. Oh, and the key? The intentional and informed use of psychedelics.
Today, Paul shares an overview of psychedelic substances, including his thoughts on decriminalization, best practices, safety protocols, and the wide-ranging benefits. As the founder and CEO of Third Wave, Paul is on a mission to nurture the emerging psychedelic ecosystem by providing individuals with research-based education, access to vetted providers, and membership in our global community of psychedelic pioneers.
Head to Third Wave to learn more about their psychedelic guides, courses, and certified providers. As the mission and vision of Third Wave continues to expand and evolve, so will its impact.
“I don't think the vast majority of people who can benefit from these medicines necessarily need to have a mystical experience. There are a lot of people who can simply benefit from taking lower doses of psychedelics, potentially in conjunction with therapy or coaching.” – Paul Austin

TW: eating disorders and sexual abuse.
Today, Lauren Sheehey joins us on the CURED Collective Podcast for a special episode. During her third appearance on the show, she taps into radical honesty and vulnerability in the hopes of erasing stigma, providing hope, and calling others forward into recovery and reclamation.
Lauren is a trauma-informed coach, writer, and mother. She is also the co-founder of WTHN, a transformative group coaching program that she runs with Joe. Like many experts, she developed her niche with the influence of her personal experiences. In today’s episode, she opens up for the first time about what her personal history has truly entailed.
Lauren speaks to her lifelong eating disorder, as well as her own version of recovery; which she aptly names, “The Uncovery.” The theme of this episode, and of her recovery, is one of unlocking her voice: when she first lost it, key moments that highlight the estrangement, and what finally helped her restore it. As a survivor of sexual abuse and sexual assault, Lauren turns a corner in her healing by speaking to the impact of those experiences today.
Lauren also shares her perspective on the triphasic nature of healing, as well as the type of treatments available for those who suffer from eating disorders and sexual trauma. The episode ends with a description of how she is attributing meaning to her experiences and finding significance in service; for which WTHN is the conduit and the container.
Tune in for a message of hope and a call for healing. For those who are seeking support and guidance, click the link below to apply to work with Lauren.

Tune in to the latest episode of The Cured Collective Podcast where we discuss networking. We’ve all heard the saying, “your network is your net worth”, but what does that actually mean and where do we start?
When building a powerful network, it all starts with the question, “how can I give?” In all relationships, what you can give to the relationship is far more relevant than what you can get. Displaying true and continuous curiosity is the foundation to build from. People love sharing about themselves. So, give them the opportunity.
Most importantly, you must be willing to so your true self. Many times in life, how we handle a relationship is affected by how we see ourselves. So, become clear on whether your true self is showing up, or not. Tune in for more!

In a world where it is easy to get lost in material and other physical manifestations of success, the most important obstacle we face is ourselves. Discover the formula to set a foundation for change and recognize where you play the greatest role in your own journey. This is the path to fulfillment.

Welcome to this week’s episode of The Cured Collective Podcast. We’re sitting down with Nimai Delgado to discuss pursuing entrepreneurship, balancing mental health, cultivating relationships, and creating a life of compassion.
Nimai is a vegan professional bodybuilder, former mechanical engineer, lifestyle coach, and motivational speaker. Through each of his high-impact platforms (including Vedge Nutrition and VeganFitness.com), Nimai has helped thousands of individuals create a life they love through exercise and vegan nutrition.
His mission is to spark greater awareness and compassion in the world, and he achieves this by bringing a modern, more conscious perspective into conversations surrounding health and fitness.
Today, Nimai dives into his spiritual upbringing, his decision to leave mechanical engineering to pursue bodybuilding and coaching, and the thriving business he developed as a result. He also highlights the important of committing himself to applying his core values to every aspect of his life; in business and beyond.
“My big mission is to make the world a more compassionate place. It happens to be through the lens of helping people eat less animals because I truly believe it’s unnecessary [...] If we can all strengthen that muscle, exercising a little bit of compassion here, a little bit of compassion there, then ultimately that creates a really big ripple effect.” – Nimai Delgado

In this episode of Cured Collective Podcast, we welcome Brad Jensen. Brad is a high-level fitness and nutrition coach, the owner of Key Nutrition, and the founder of Next Level Experience, a program designed to implement healthy habits and remove emotional baggage and limiting beliefs. As a coach, he helps others level up in all areas of their lives.
Brad’s story of addiction and recovery is one of powerful overcoming. In the height of his addiction to heroin, he was arrested several times; the last of which included being pulled over in a stolen vehicle. After hitting bottom, he started working toward radically changing himself and his life. He committed himself to 12 Steps, and contributes the program to saving his life. Through this program, and throughout his recovery, he has learned why spirituality is a non-negotiable aspect of health, wellness, peace, and vitality.
In Next Level Experience, Brad combines his life experience with his knowledge and insight in fitness, nutrition, psychology, and spirituality. Lives are changed, and the impact continues to ripple out into the lives of everyone these individuals come into contact with.

While CBD is commonly recommended for general aches, pains, and mood regulation, CBN is widely respected for its targeted sedating effects (imagine the overwhelming comfort of a weighted blanket). Our CBN and CBD come in two forms: Night Oil and Night Caps, and Calm Oil and Calm Caps.
The key differences here are a result of the varying method of delivery. Most individuals experience a quicker onset time with oils, while a more concentrated and potent effect is typically experienced with capsules.

In this episode of The Cured Collective Podcast, Joe welcomes Traver Boehm. Traver is the founder of UNcivilized Inc. and the author of “Today I Rise” and “Man Uncivilized”. The foundation of Traver’s work has been helping men to acknowledge their identity unapologetically, without worrying about judgmental opinions, and learning to be a better human along the way. Traver believes that the oppression that men cause comes from the repression that they face.
Today, Traver talks about his work and the many ways he has been inspiring other men to love life, to love themselves and their masculinity, to explore all sides of this masculinity, and to learn how to resonate with other men again. According to Traver, the “lonely wolf” mentality has taken place and men are chasing loneliness much because they are taught to do so. Do we need to chase loneliness these days?
The conversation also highlights the importance of dealing with trauma. Recognizing that trauma is something you are living with is just the first step to finding grace. What the next steps are and how to navigate the trauma are the questions that need to be asked too. Tune in to listen to the whole interview!
“If you’re suffering, you’re probably hurting people. What if we could stop the unnecessary suffering in men, so we stop the unnecessary suffering caused by men?” – Traver Boehm

In this episode of the CURED Collective Podcast, we discuss the history and use of cannabis. Despite its current stigma, the origins of cannabis date back thousands of years. In fact, it was used for its therapeutic and spiritual benefits by dozens of cultures. Yet, in the 1900s, something shifted.
The narrative given by mainstream media was one of fear, danger, and vilification. The medicinal potential was lost, and marijuana soon became media’s “gateway drug.” Today, Joe juxtaposes the use of cannabis with the use of alcohol and asks, “Why is one considered a poison, while the other is considered a social norm?”
He shares experiences with witnessing family members die from the effects of chronic alcoholism, and the impact alcohol has had on his own life. At CURED, the mission is not one of escapism; shifting the narrative around cannabis does not mean normalizing “getting high.”
Instead, we believe in the therapeutic benefits of ingesting low doses of THC (also known as a microdose) to provide relief, relaxation, and even creativity. This is not about tapping out of life, but instead tuning into ourselves, our bodies, and our potential. At the end of the episode, Joe answers listener questions about forms of cannabis consumption, modes of delivery, and various strains of cannabis.

In this episode of Cured Collective Podcast, we discuss Joe’s recent trip to Austin, Texas; where he had the opportunity to meet and connect with a truly powerful community of like-minded, mission-driven people. Joe explains why this trip was more gratifying than others he has taken in the past, and what it means to consistently surround ourselves with people who are proactively working toward creating a better future.
Joe also explains why changing and evolving as an individual can often be a lonely journey. Internally, there will be times when you feel like the progress is slow (or even absent). Yet, when you’re presented with the opportunity to dive into a community of equally motivated individuals, your growth is just as often highlighted and amplified. With others, inspiration, clarity, and accountability flow freely.

In this episode of Cured Collective Podcast, we have the pleasure of sitting down for a conversation with Connor Beaton. Connor is a NY-based coach, teacher, and speaker dedicated to helping men (and women) from all over the world walk through their darkness and grow in the realms of mental clarity, relational communication, and actualizing their potential and sexual intimacy. He is the founder of ManTalks, an intensive training program for men looking to expand and deepen their sense of self-leadership.
Connor is also the author of ‘Men’s Work,’ a powerful book and practical guide that offers men actionable exercises and the self-inquiry to help anyone achieve love, a joy-filled life, fulfilling sexual connections, and deep purpose.
Today, Joe and Connor discuss the various challenges men face with their mental and emotional health; as well as how these have morphed into an epidemic in recent years. In true Jungian fashion, Connor speaks to what our shadows can teach us about ourselves, our paths to liberation, and our purposes. We can often find ourselves stuck in old patterns of thinking that life is happening to us, but there is immense growth and healing when we can believe that life is actually happening FOR us.
This is one you don’t want to miss.

In today’s show, we discuss the perpetual problem so many of us face: comparison. No one is immune to comparison. If we don’t experience it now, chances are likely we’ve felt its claws in the past. Perhaps it was focused on financial acclaim or career trajectory; or perhaps physical appearance and relationship status. Despite the subject matter, each of us can relate to the sticky, consuming, comparison trap.
We have found one of the most reliable and realistic ways to break out of the comparison trap. So, now we want to share that with you! We spend today’s episode discussing that reminder and smoothing out the foundation for whatever project you currently find yourself working on. When we let go of comparison once and for all, our goals are far more attainable.
Here’s a hint: “Don’t compare your Chapter 1 with someone else’s Chapter 20.”

Welcome to another episode! Today you will listen to a very profound conversation between Joe and Greg Anderson on his podcast, Endless Endeavor. Throughout the episode, they talk about a variety of topics including Joe’s background working for corporate America, how he was able to deal with depression years ago, his journey founding Cured Nutrition, and the ups and downs of being an entrepreneur.
You will see that the main theme of the episode is entrepreneurship. Taking a leap of faith and quitting a 9-5 job is just not for everyone: it takes courage, inspiration, and a sense of purpose to pursue this road. Not only that, people who work for themselves can fall into the trap of being unproductive, giving up shortly after starting the business, or feeling lost with so many tasks. Joe shares his journey navigating through all of that. Tune in!

In this episode of Cured Collective Podcast, we sit down with Jeff Lovecchio for a thoughtful, inspiring, and well-rounded conversation. Jeff is a former NHL player and successfully played in the league for ten years. After a series of injuries ended his career, he learned to infuse his passion for movement into a thriving coaching business.
In the episode, Jeff describes his relationship with discipline and its onset at an incredibly early age. He explains how his commitment to outworking his fellow hockey players ultimately catalyzed his transformation into a professional player. While other kids were enjoying their summer or other young adults were going out for drinks, you could consistently find Jeff putting in time on the rink.
Throughout his many years spent training (and rehabilitating injuries), Jeff discovered gaps in the current model of athletic training and sports performance. Specifically, in the way athletes were training in the gym and how this wasn’t transferring to their performance in their sport. This inspired Jeff to not only reevaluate his own training methods, but to introduce the same functional, dynamic, power-focused movements to the athletes he now coaches in St. Louis, Missouri.
Wondering what this looks like? Just try sprinting at your max-out speed while trying to read a sign pinned on an adjacent wall. This episode is one that will inspire you to move your body in the way it was always designed to. Tune in!
“If you have kids and you’re listening to this, or if you want to have kids, put them in a team sport. Not because you want them to be a pro athlete, but because it is a metaphor for life and it teaches you all of the things you need to learn to be successful.” – Jeff Lovecchio

She is the founder of Evolve, a 90-Day program that specializes in transforming her clients from self-judgment, overwhelm, and negativity to confidence, excellence, and daily success.
This episode was first recorded during the CURED Elevation Challenge when Emily sat down with the community to share her thoughts on the role of exercise and movement in maintaining mental health. During this conversation, she speaks to daily practices (like exercise and cold exposure) as a lifestyle treatment for depression and anxiety.
Although many individuals think of motivation as a prerequisite for working out, Emily explains that the opposite is actually true. Exercising is what fuels our motivation to move through our days with even greater clarity and productivity.
Putting our bodies into new (and uncomfortable) environments is one of the most critical keys to unlocking new mindsets. When we are able to move beyond our comfort zones, we tap into new levels of our potential.

In this new episode, we discuss the multifaceted, ever-nuanced concept of “creating our reality”. Our personal realities are the culmination of our daily thoughts, feelings, actions, and behaviors; or in one word, our habits. Bridging the gap between who we are and who we desire to be (or who we envision as our Higher Self) is a layered process.
First, we must notice if and where we are not currently showing up in our lives in the highest possible way. Second, we must take inventory of the daily changes required to embark on our own journey of self-transformation. We may find it helpful to ask, “How would my future self, or my Higher Self, show up in this situation?” Third, we must cultivate an unshakeable resolve in bringing our Higher Self into the current picture.
If we do this, we naturally become the person of our dreams and desires.
This process is influenced by where and with whom we spend our time; such as, our careers, our hobbies, our relationships, and so on.
In work and in business, our behavior is a direct reflection of our integrity and our inner life. The culture of the company we work for or manage influences how we show up in our personal lives; which inevitably impacts our family and friends, our communities, our cities, and on and on it goes. Professional and personal are truly indistinguishable.
It’s time to ask ourselves: Are we creating a reality that we are comfortable with, confident in, and proud of? Not only for ourselves, but fore the collective?

It’s common to fall off track with our wellness practices, isn’t it? At times, our mental health can feel like a slippery slope. We may have periods during which we are checking off all of the boxes: journaling, meditating, walking outdoors, and practicing gratitude. However, we will also inevitably experience phases during which our emotions run haywire and our mind runs rampant. A few days, weeks, or months may pass before we pause long enough to realize, “Hmm, I don’t feel like myself anymore.”
In this episode of The Cured Collective Podcast, we discuss how common it is to find ourselves in difficult seasons of life; as well as how easy it is to slip down the mental health mountain. Life is unpredictable, and so breaks in our mental health practices will certainly happen from time to time. Your mental health practices may also evolve and shift, depending on who and where you are in your own life.
Wherever you find yourself now, we encourage you to take inventory of how you feel and how you want to feel. If these aren’t aligned, what practices can you return to; or perhaps, try for the first time? You have the power to change your current reality, and it can begin with one small step. Similarly to building physical strength and stamina, mental strength and resilience is a long-game rooted in patience, understanding, and perseverance.
We know you have it in you.

In this episode, Joe talks about the concept of leading as an example. When it comes to entrepreneurship, building businesses, and hiring team members, it’s important to understand all of the layers of the company, the struggles, the problems, and why you and your business need help with solving them. This idea only benefits the business and allows you to fully embody the company’s mission.
Delegating tasks, for example, is another example of ‘removing yourself’ from the company and this can lead you to failure. A business owner should be fully immersed in the company and when a new venture, a new opportunity, or a new path unfolds in front of the business, it’s the responsibility of the same business owner to encourage, inspire, and ask others to follow along. Tune in!

In this episode of the podcast, Joe discusses a few of his personal thoughts and opinions regarding this unprecedented time and the current state of the world. He points out that, as a culture, we are easily distracted and struggle to maintain our focus. Our attention spans are decreasing for a variety of reasons, including increased time spent on social media platforms and a link to dysregulated dopamine.
Social media isn’t going anywhere. So, taking control of our health and well-being requires us to reconsider the type of content we’re consuming on a regular basis, and if it’s truly setting us up to become the best versions of ourselves.
Many of us struggle with low self-worth, bouts of anxiety, and even periods of depression. It’s easy to slip into mentalities, beliefs, and behaviors that aren’t conducive to our longterm happiness.
You are closer to your breakthrough than you think. Tune in for more!

In this episode of the podcast, Joe interviews Danielle Broida. Danielle is a Registered Herbalist and Holistic Nutritionist. Similar to the mission at CURED, Danielle believes in using nature to support the body and return it to optimal functioning. Today, she explains the benefits of incorporating plant medicine into a wellness routine, with a special emphasis on adaptogens.
These days, daily stressors are plentiful. A build-up of stress is the most common antagonist working against the body’s various physiological processes. Unfortunately, many people are quick to turn to ‘quick fixes’ to cover up their stress and anxiety. We propose an alternative; utilizing natural remedies to address the root issue and support the body’s innate resilience in response to stress.
Danielle explains why adaptogens are such a powerful resource to help with this. Long before the invention of modern medicine and prescriptive pills, adaptogens were used to promote deep healing and inner harmony. Danielle hopes to offer greater access to education and application to the public; most recently with the release of her new book, Healing Adaptogens.

In this episode, Joe shares his thoughts on growth and perspective. Growth can be simplified as an act of steady, ongoing commitment; while perspective can be thought of as walking through life one step at a time. CURED Nutrition has been building and growing since the day it was first founded, but that isn’t to say the path hasn’t been riddled with challenges. During the most trying seasons, our current success as a company was nothing but a distant thought; but —
The team has always remained committed to growing, taking perspective, and stepping into the next level. The secret to our evolution and success is two-fold: unbreakable commitment to scaling a business and investing the required effort (no matter what).
Every single day should feel like the most important day. We can’t predict what tomorrow will bring, but we can take responsibility and initiative today.

In this episode of the podcast, Joe re-introduces CURED and the company’s mission to hold the torch as the reference-point in the supplement industry. This inevitably comes down to a few important factors: quality, education, innovation, and integrity.
Countless people would stand to benefit from honest and thorough education on plant medicine, but a deluge of misinformation is blocking the way. Overcoming this hurdle and learning about the advantages of alternative medicine is critical for increasing accessibility; and ultimately, viewing natural solutions as viable options for health and wellness.
Each of us possesses the power to improve our health, and prescription medications aren’t always the best path forward. For example, all-natural, no-cost, consistent habits — like, sun exposure, water intake, cold therapy, and regular movement — are as important for longterm health as pills.
You deserve to feel your best and embody the person you are meant to be, and CURED is there for every step of the way.
“Modern medicine and plant medicine can exist simultaneously; and we should have the ability to switch back and forth depending on what is best or correct for that given moment and what is not.” – Joseph Sheehey

In the words of Albert Einstein, “Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.” It’s normal to feel frustrated when we aren’t accomplishing our goals or achieving the results we’ve mapped out. However, we mustn’t sit and waver in our frustration. If we are desiring true change, our frustration must fuel our drive and motivation; as well as our commitment to doing things differently.
We know that nothing changes if nothing changes, but where do we begin? In this episode of the Cured Collective Podcast, Joe shares the key steps to carving out a new path in life. He also discusses the importance of adopting new habits, like shifting attention and setting boundaries.

In the most recent episode of the Cured Collective Podcast, Joe discusses the benefits of consuming small doses of cannabis. This practice is referred to as microdosing; or, ingesting sub-perceptual amounts of a specific substance.
Our mission at CURED is to provide our community with the supplements, education, and resources they need to elevate their lives, realize their potential, and align with their most powerful selves. This mission would be left unfulfilled and incomplete without sharing the benefits of cannabis; and more specifically, microdosing cannabis.

In this episode of The Cured Collective Podcast, Joe highlights the importance of viewing investments as long-term action items; present requirements for future results. Too many people wait for the perfect moment to invest in themselves, their business, or their lives — and too often, that perfect moment never arrives. Failure to pan out to the bigger picture and act NOW leads to missed opportunities.
Joe shares a personal experience about seeking mentorship and making financial investments. Mentorship is a long-term investment that pays off in dividends as long as the coach or teacher is the ‘correct fit’. The leader that inspires your higher self is the one that will challenge your short-sightedness, teach you how to avoid certain mistakes, offer personal insights, and ultimately propel your vision forward.
Meanwhile, YOU are required to believe that investing in yourself is the right path to follow. Tune in for more!
“When you have the opportunity to invest in yourself, a mentorship, or a coach who can bring you into your future, show you your future self, reveal the way to become WHO it is you want to be (as a leader, a business owner, or whatever it may be) — you need to understand how to move past short-sighted vision into long-term gain.” – Joseph Sheehey

In the latest episode of The Cured Collective Podcast, Joe dives into the concept of ‘internal understanding’. He explains it as the unique sensation of inner peace that ultimately empowers us to cultivate genuine fulfillment, joy, happiness, and gratitude in our external lives. In short, the good things happening outside of ourselves oftentimes reflect the good things happening within ourselves.
Joe also explains the importance of making an effort to enjoy every moment of our daily lives. We cannot see into the future, nor can we predict what will happen one hour, one day, or one year from now. Our lives are infinitely more meaningful when we choose to savor every moment and take advantage of every opportunity.
For added clarity, it may be helpful to ask ourselves: when have we missed the joy, beauty, or possibility available in a present moment because we were too distracted with making future plans? And, how can these moments inform our current habits, decisions, and behaviors?
“The level of internal work, understanding, and peace that we develop within ourselves and our souls determines the magnitude of joy, success, and fulfillment we experience in our outer worlds.” – Joseph Sheehey

In this episode of The Cured Collective Podcast, Joe explains why easier isn’t always better. When we’re in the habit of seeking only painless situations, we’re avoiding opportunities to tap into our resiliency and grow. Constant complaining or wishing for something ‘easier’ only holds us back in life. Instead, we can take strides toward our potential by running head-on into any situation we’re dealt.
Joe also shares the difference between ‘easy’ and ‘simple’. Think of it this way: doing the right thing in life is often very simple, but it is rarely easy. It may even be the most complicated path of all. However, knowing that it is THE path is really quite simple.
We are not always capable of turning certain events in our favor or making experiences easier, nor should we even try. But it is always within our power to face our challenges and find solutions that are aligned with our values and vision. When we do that, we stretch ourselves past our comfort zone and towards a better version of ourselves. Our hardest times deserve our gratitude; without them, we wouldn’t be the strong, tenacious human beings we are today.
“Life should not get easier — and it’s not going to get any easier when you become more or achieve more. Instead, what happens is you grow your capacity to handle what life throws your way.” – Joseph Sheehey

In this episode of The Cured Collective Podcast, Joe explains the importance of creating your future, TODAY. What does your future look like in your mind’s eye? How do you see the people in your life and the world around you changing in 5, 10, and 20 years? Will the changes be positive; if not, what can you do to move them in a more positive direction?
These are questions we should always be asking ourselves. They offer critical moments of self-reflection, and help us understand our role in creating sustainable and lasting innovations.
In this episode, Joe also discusses the origination of true change. If you are familiar with the mission at CURED Nutrition, then this won’t surprise you: true change begins with our inner worlds and gradually extends to our outer worlds. When you commit to becoming the best version of yourself, you are inherently committing to living by your core values, taking aligned action, forming intentional relationships. The change that started within you begins to ripple out, affecting everything you do and everyone you interact with.
You have the power to create massive waves of change that give rise to a bright future, and it begins today.

In this episode of The Cured Collective Podcast, Joe shares an important message that he recently learned from one of his mentors:
When you hear the phrase, “Keep Going,” its meaning is obvious. Immediately, you may think of continuing, persevering, and reliably putting one foot in front of the other on your forward journey.
It is impossible to make it through life without being touched by hardship and difficulty. We have all experienced days, months, and even years that have felt like endless trudging through the mud. However, many of us have also experienced the irreplaceable feeling of making it through to the other side.
You will inevitably persevere through your difficult times. You may even find solutions for problems that once felt unsolvable. Your days will feel brighter and your shoulders will feel lighter. The trials that you face are opportunities for transformation. When you can’t quite see the future, trust that whatever test you are facing will become your testimony if you just ‘keep going’.
“It may become more difficult before it gets better, but I can promise you that it will get better.” – Joseph Sheehey

In this episode of The Cured Collective Podcast, Joe expresses how important it is to live in your truth, act in alignment with your mission, and embody your message. People are often hesitant to become their most authentic selves because of a deep-seated fear of others’ opinions. They become trapped between who others expect them to be and who they are destined to be. Unless they learn how to stop compromising themselves and their values, they become stuck in this place forever. Joe shares his thoughts on how you can begin to simplify the act of authentically showing up. Your mission should be a culmination of your values, dreams, and desires; not the product of external recognition or validation. The fear of what others think of you is one of the biggest hurdles preventing you from realizing your fullest potential and achieving your dreams.
Everyone must ask themselves: is it more important for me to be liked by many and known by few, or to be known by many as someone who is undeniably true to myself and my mission?

In this episode of The Cured Collective Podcast, Joe dives deep into the history of cannabis. Roughly five thousand years ago, cannabis was used as a pharmaceutical for both medicine and mood enhancement. Its therapeutic use continued through the 19th century. The cannabis plant was esteemed for its numerous properties, such as promoting deep relaxation and reducing the severity of convulsions.
However, the conversation around cannabis eventually changed when individuals and larger systems started labeling the plant as toxic and harmful. During the peak of the war on drugs, the government-funded various campaigns and propaganda with the intention of demonizing cannabis. It was associated with drug abuse, criminal behavior, and mental illness.
Although decriminalization is currently underway, the federal legalization of cannabis remains to be seen. Tune in to learn more!

In this episode of The Cured Collective Podcast, Joe talks about the bridge that connects awareness to implementation. From the moment we begin to be aware of who we want to be and who we don’t want to be, until we start implementing new actions and new habits, there is a process in between – a process that takes time. In order to be a new version of yourself, you need to be willing to be patient and experience frustration because, in the end, it is a long journey.
The good news is that once you cross the bridge and arrive at your destiny, what you will find is your future self standing and waiting to be the person in charge. Joe also explains the importance of leaving behind the period of our lives when we were not making our own decisions. Taking responsibility, choosing what we value in life, and editing the way we live everyday are the first steps to get to the other side.

In this episode of The Cured Collective Podcast, Joe talks about some of the most important studies and researches about psilocybin. The benefits of practices with psilocybin are numerous, including therapeutic treatments and spiritual experiences.
Psilocybin can also occasion mystical moments that are often times hard to explain. The majority of these moments, however, are based on stories and memories from the past, which is why it can be utilized for healing traumas on specific sessions.
Joe also debriefs some of the details of these studies: psilocybin sessions held with patients with terminal diseases helped the individual to approach the idea of death with more acceptance. These sessions were also held with cigarette smokers seeking to quit the addiction – the studies proved an 80% absence rate. It’s established that psilocybin has great benefits for humans and their connection to the world, the nature, and themselves.

In the latest episode of the Cured Collective Podcast, Joe kicks off Mushroom March by breaking down the three main types of mushrooms and how to incorporate each type in your daily life. Mushrooms are typically broken down into one of the following categories: culinary, functional (also known as medicinal), and psychedelic.
What often distinguishes one mushroom from another is the specific effect it produces in the body, and perhaps even how edible it is. For example, portobello mushrooms would be great for dinner tonight, but psilocybin probably won’t go with your roast chicken.
Throughout Mushroom March, we’ll continue to share educational (and entertaining) resources to help foster your love for fungi. It’s no surprise: we believe functional mushrooms are a cornerstone of true health and well-being. This month, our mission is to convince you of the same!

Each cannabinoid has its own unique set of characteristics, and understanding where they vary can help you determine your individual daily dose.

In this episode, Joe talks about the concept of ‘core values’ and how they are extremely important to define our future moments and the person that we want to be. When we know change is necessary and we want to be a different person than we are right now, it’s important to start being this person today. If it’s something we don’t know how to do, we may find our core values very helpful.
On a similar note, the future we hope to have and the future version of ourselves is completely unknown. We might have a vague idea but it’s unfamiliar to us, at this point. By operating through our core values each and every day, very likely the weeks, months, and even years – a.k.a. the future ahead – will be something you’ll be very proud of. Tune in to learn more!

In today’s episode of Cured Collective Podcast, Joe shares his thoughts on a sentiment we all know and understand: skepticism. In the supplement industry, many consumers understandably feel a sense of skepticism. They may wonder which brands they can genuinely trust or they may question the purity of the ingredients; the list is nearly endless.
This is especially prevalent among CBD companies and the various CBD products on the market. With the market’s recent surge in popularity and accessibility, there are likely more companies selling questionable products than there are companies committing to diligence, integrity, and service. We like to think we’re on the right side of history with this one, but we aren’t always the first CBD company consumers try.
As a result, individuals have grown skeptic about the efficacy of CBD in general, versus shady companies in particular. Today, Joe wants to help you mold your skeptic muscle into one of critical discernment. Tune in to learn what qualities to look for in a supplement company and how to finally find high-quality supplements that elevate your existence.

In this episode of the Cured Collective Podcast, Joe sits down with Laurin Conlin to discuss the importance of nutrition when we’re striving to reach fitness goals and live a healthier lifestyle. Laurin shares simple but effective tips for optimizing our eating habits and adopting a flexible mindset for when we inevitably fall “off track.”
Laurin also explains why it might be necessary to reframe our goals. For example, it is often more important to focus on preserving muscle mass while in a caloric deficit, as opposed to focusing solely on fat loss. To help streamline your unique goal-setting, Laurin offers additional advice on hot topics, like: food tracking, meal timing, exercise, and fasting. Tune in to learn more!
“People really need to be able to define what their ‘goals’ are. There are a lot of catch phrases in the nutrition industry and I think [eating for your goals] is one of them.” – Laurin Conlin

Tune into this episode of the Cured Collective Podcast, where Joe and Lauren discuss cannabis, the stigmatization of canna-parenting, and how to examine your own relationship with the plant. They each share their individual history with marijuana, as well as how their use has changed during different seasons of life. Now, as parents, they are exploring the different ways cannabis can become a household topic of conversation.
Joe and Lauren also compare cannabis use to “mommy wine culture,” and question the double standard and shaming parents face when they choose to open up about their use of marijuana. As someone who has experienced significant relief from various symptoms related to anxiety, PTSD, insomnia, and an eating disorder, Lauren invites you to consider the therapeutic effects of plant medicine. When used responsibly, isn’t it possible for cannabis use and parenting to co-exist in a way that actually benefits the parent-child relationship?
Join the conversation and break through the stigma!
“I think the most breathtaking thing for me was the effect on my anxiety. I had never experienced anything that could wipe away my anxiety, even my PTSD symptoms, like marijuana has.” – Lauren Sheehey

Welcome to another episode of the Cured Collective Podcast. Today, Joe discusses an alternative way of approaching risks in life. For many individuals, risks initially create a sense of unease and this unease drives complete aversion. However, this avoidance isn’t necessarily conducive with a life well-lived. There is a way to calculate risks before deciding what type of action needs to be taken. Unfortunately, the calculations that help with making these types of decisions aren’t widely taught; Joe shares what has helped him learn how to reframe (and even embrace) risks in life, business, and beyond.
Joe also explains the concept of “relative risk vs. absolute risk,” and gives the example of entrepreneurship and growing a business. Data shows that 20% of new businesses fail in their first year. Yet, this percentage doesn’t deter most entrepreneurs from still giving their new idea a shot at success. This suggests an inherent ability to confront risk, consider what is at stake, and move forward anyways. In other words, there are times when it is far more advantageous to be risk-aware than risk-averse. Starting and growing a business is one such example.
“Increasing your capacity for risk requires exposing yourself to difficult times and proving to yourself that you can make it through.” – Joseph Sheehey

“If we want to create a kinder world, we need to be kinder to ourselves. I think the way to do that is to understand ourselves on a deeper level, cultivate an awareness of what’s going on inside of us, and recognize that everything that goes on internally is projected out into the world.”

Join us in this week’s episode of the Cured Collective podcast as Joseph sits down to chat with Dr. Kasey Jo Orvidas to talk about growth mindset. Kasey, who has a Ph.D. in psychology and is a Health and Fitness Coach, sheds light on a variety of topics like awareness, belief, and ability to change, how to interrupt behavioral patterns, and how we can make our mindset work for us from a place of personal development. Throughout this discussion, Kasey explains the science behind mindset, interesting facts about awareness, and how being conscious of our habits and thoughts is really the initial step to create change. When we begin to be present with the moment and start considering which actions and behaviors we are reproducing at that moment - we start creating change. It might be hard in the beginning, but the more we “change directions” and shift our emotional and mindset states, the easier it gets. Pursuing this awareness is the path to growth.
“Mindset is the lens we view the world through. It’s how you assign meaning to things and how you make sense of things.” – Kasey Jo Orvidas, Ph.D.

What does it mean to live an elevated lifestyle? What do we have to take into account in order to have an elevated life? There are 9 aspects of our day-to-day life that can truly transform the way we act, think, and live. These 9 factors, despite being the main focal points to actually improve your life, are oftentimes neglected and ignored. In this episode, Joseph discusses the 9 pillars of an elevated life, and how to fine-tune each to optimize your life.

Our existence on a daily basis and everything we do, or think of doing starts with one thing: the mind. Every outcome you get from every action you take is the result of a thought you initially had. That is how powerful our mind is and once we understand this correlation between what goes on in our mind and what happens in our life, everything starts to feel effortless and connected. In this episode, Joseph gives you great insights on how you can change your life by changing the state of your mind.

Great leaders understand that their position should be about accountability, not authority. Essential skills of a great leader include being there for other individuals, serving as a support base, guiding people through hard times and helping them with hard choices. Before turning the light on to lead others, it’s important to first lead yourself.
Join us in this episode of the Cured Collective podcast as Joseph and Jay Ferruggia chat about leadership skills and how crucial it is to be responsible for our own actions and habits before being responsible for someone else’s. Jay also shares his opinion on how small habits can completely transform a person and how important it is for people to realize that if they create little changes every day, they will end up with a whole new life.
“No matter what year it is, what day it is or what’s going on in the world, if you’re just focusing on yourself, you’ll always be anxiety-ridden, stressed out and bummed out. So, the more you can get out and try to make other people feel better, you're going to feel better anyway.” – Jay Ferruggia

Authenticity on social media is not a concept that everyone follows. With new accounts being created every single day, new influencers all over the place, and our attention being so divided, it’s really invigorating to find individuals that are honest and transparent online. Social media is about – or at least should be – doing what you love, sharing it and hopefully connecting with like-minded people, right?
In today’s episode, Joseph sits down with Dylan McKenna to discuss the impact that social media has on people today and how it could also have an effect on future generations. Dylan also touches on points like bodybuilding, the discipline required to compete on professional shows, and the dark side of being too caught up on our own flaws. After all, building a “dream physique” is about finding that hidden potential inside you, but also being mentally healthy at all times.
“There’s a way to do all the things we are talking about like competing and utilizing performance enhancement drugs in much healthier – mentally and physically – ways. But it’s never really physically healthy and it’s never really mentally the healthiest” – Dylan McKenna

To look inside and identify which values we have and which principles we prize is fundamental for our personal life, but it is also important for our business. Professional values and personal values are often the same, but not exclusive. They must feel aligned with what we want in life and how we are living life in the first place. Based on your values, are you living your dream life or are you just dreaming of it?
“By limiting myself and my ability to scale I’m limiting my ability to impact the people that I want to impact in the way that I want to impact them.” – Emily Duncan
In this episode of the Cured Collective Podcast, Joseph has a conversation with Emily Duncan about what it means to have strong values. The best way to initiate your self-development journey is to actually recognize the concepts you value the most in life, why you value them, and why your current situation might not be aligned with that. Once you have the answers to these questions, you start making important shifts in your perspective.

Being a healthy individual goes way beyond eating nutritious foods and exercising twice a week. When we’re trying to improve our health, we need to look at the foundation of it: sleep. Our sleeping habits are like the base of a pyramid – and just like the base of a pyramid needs to be firm and solid to support everything on top of it, our sleep needs to be taken care of in order to also support a healthier lifestyle.
“Sleep is the #1 most important component of our overall health and stands as the foundation of so many other aspects of a quality and healthy lifestyle.” – Joseph Sheehey
In this episode of the Cured Collective Podcast, Joseph Sheehey talks about how important it is to not overlook our sleeping habits, always trying to improve it by little tactics you can apply in your daily routine. While supplements can help and be very beneficial to our sleep, simple habit changes like getting natural light in the morning and avoiding unnatural light in the evening can also be very effective. In this episode, Joseph also highlights CURED's newest product joining the recovery line: Raw CBN Tincture. This tincture was formulated for those struggling with nighttime stress and insomnia. Our Raw CBN tincture is a blend of calming terpenes, flavonoids, & whole plant cannabinoids to induce deep, restorative sleep. Coming June 14th.

He conveys why acknowledging the hard moments in life are the stepping stone to transforming into the next version of yourself. When we decide to take action and take responsibility for changing the course of our lives, we become unstoppable. That shift is all we need to overcome those adversities.

There will be days when everything feels heavier. There will be days when your thoughts and feelings are all over the place. Yet, if we dive deep down into our souls and truly believe in our power – to be strong, to face our fears, to find a way out – we will survive the day... one more time. Resilience is the key.

Welcome back to the Cured Collective Podcast! In this episode, Joseph Sheehey welcomes Sean and Dala, founders of the DLD Nation. Sean and Dala share a little bit about their story working as fitness coaches in the online space and how their business developed over the years. DLD Nation is a company whose mission is to empower people through fitness and nutrition without overcomplicating the process.
“It’s not really relatable to always put your best foot forward and act like you’re always motivated.” – Dala
Sean and Dala were first motivated by the education gaps in the fitness industry along with the untruths that were being told about training, nutrition, fat loss/muscle gain and the whole spectrum around fitness. In this episode, they also explain that a fitness journey should navigate around life and not the other way around. In addition, they talk about all things entrepreneurship, relationships, the importance of having a support system and the value of being vulnerable through hard moments.

Welcome back to the Cured Collective Podcast! In this solo episode, your host Joseph Sheehey shares his thoughts on the stories that are responsible to change us as humans throughout our lifespan. Childhood experiences and the models we have as kids shape us in a way that we sometimes are not capable of comprehending. But it’s important that we do. By understanding the stories that make us, we can continue to make stories of our own.
“The places that we come from, our childhood experiences, and the experiences within our homes and our families, and the way that our parents raise us shapes everything. Shapes our world view, shapes our understanding of ourselves, our understanding of who we can be and what we can be in this world.” – Joseph Sheehey
Joseph also explains the mission that Cured Nutrition has been incorporating over the years and how it correlates with this topic. To share our most vulnerable experiences, our deepest hurts and our whole truth is the first step to actually change our life. It’s the first step to actually connect, create community, and build meaningful relationships. And that’s exactly what Cured Nutrition wants its message to be.

In today’s episode Joseph Sheehey talks with Sam and Noel Sweeney. They discuss a bit about how fitness is beneficial for building not only physical but also mental endurance, how entrepreneurship influenced both of their lives, and how structuring a business might be a huge leap of faith – but a necessary one if you really want to. Building a business from scratch takes time and effort; it’s not an overnight thing. But most of all: it takes trust. And that’s what Sam and Noel explain in this episode.
“Fitness isn’t just fitness. Fitness is this huge encompassing thing that kind of leaks into a lot of your life. Those things that you bring into your fitness routine, you can bring into other areas of your life.” – Sam Sweeney
In addition, you will hear some great tips on growing a social media following; in which way partnerships in life make sense for a person; the importance of having our mental health in check, especially in the world we’re living in now and how fitness can actually help with that. Doing hard things inside a gym shows us we can do hard things outside of it too. Sam and Noel also talk about some of the Cured products and how they have been nothing but beneficial.

He explains that taking personal responsibility for events in life and being accountable for whatever happens to you – be it good or not so good – has a direct impact on your work. It’s important to be aware of this in order to, not only scale your business, but also personally grow with it.
“We’re in this environment where the news is presenting us with constant emotional based narratives and if you buy into that and allow that narrative to sink in, you’re going to be so attached to that, and to break free from it… it’s going to be really hard.” – Jordan Dugger
In addition, Jordan talks about the circumstances our world is facing nowadays, the role of the media on this, and how we might be influenced by narratives that are being told out there. This kind of emotional based narratives can be a model for the way we, as individuals, conduct our personal lives. This is also intrinsically attached to the way we lead our businesses and the processes we use in decision making.

- Dr. Jade Teta

Welcome back to the CURED Collective podcast! Host Joseph Sheehey, reflects on the trying times that encompassed the entire year of 2020. Joseph shares the difficulties and hardships that lead to lessons and growth for him on both a personal and professional level. In this episode you’ll learn about the core values CURED has implemented to positively impact this world. Today, he dives into his personal growth in order to be the best CEO he could be, the struggles the company faced, what went into the restructuring of the company and how they got it back on track. Stay tuned as Joseph shares his vision for himself, the company and this podcast.
“In values, the value system of your life, the value system of a company is the guiding star, it’s what you decide. You make decisions upon this system. You correct the behavior of a person by the values of the company, rather than the person.” ... “You say ‘Hey, we value responsibility here and we see this item that’s out of place, it’s trash on the ground.’ and we value the person that takes the initiative and takes responsibility to pick that up.” - Joseph Sheehey

Are we truly experiencingand connecting with our emotions, or are we simply treating them like our most recent obsession on Netflix and watching them from a safe distance? This realization of living vs observing our emotions came pouring out of Sheila Darcey, a.k.a. the Sketchpoetic, once she began to put pen to paper.
Her art became an emotional translator of years of suppressed thoughts, beliefs, pain, and joy. Sheila continues to use this form of expression as not only her own therapeutic tool but is now her mission to share this practice with the world and to help others find their own way to optimal well being.

Laurin Conlin's interest of nutrition started from a very disordered place; as she was anorexic for many years growing up. Her interest then shifted to nutrition and performance as a track and field athlete in high school, to then an amateur bodybuilder.
She competed for several years as an NPC Figure competitor before making the switch to the Bikini division. In 2014, she won the overall at NPC Nationals in Bikini, earning her professional status. Laurin has competed for several years as an IFBB Bikini pro since.
In this episode, Laurin shares with Joe not only her personal story but how she believes obtaining true health is not only possible but a necessity. In a world where seemingly anyone can "slide into your DM's" and call themselves a "coach" she is here to disrupt that pattern and optimize your nutrition, training, and overall lifestyle.

Watch. Listen. Observe. Some of the key principles that today's guest, Daniel Rama, weaves into his yoga practice. This podcast brings to light the unique potential we as humans can have when we chose to observe our practice (and life), as well as the ability of choice that presents itself when we make space for it.
Daniel spent several years in an ashram learning from world-class speakers and practitioners that allowed his flow and his philosophy to progress to the level it is today. He explains how there is really one true yoga practice and the variances we have come to know and expect from it; postures, energy systems, and meditation.
