Gentlemen welcome to The Blood Brothers Podcast. This is a new season for Blood Brothers as we turn our attention toward reformed theology. As Christian men, it is vitally important that we never stop growing in our understanding of the Lord and his will. As we dive into Calvin's Institutes this season, ask the Lord how he can take the knowledge and understanding He's given you to impact the world around you outside the walls of the church.
Gentlemen welcome to Blood Brothers Men and The Blood Brothers Podcast. In this episode, I share some housekeeping for Blood Brothers concerning some changes coming up in 2021. The episode concludes with 3 thoughts/observations from 2020.
Remember the old hymn, "Come Thou Fount"? There are many profound lines in that hymn. One, in particular, has always hit me, "Prone to wander, Lord I feel it. Prone to leave the God I love. Here's my heart Lord, take and seal it, seal it for thy courts above". What is a sealed heart and has yours been sealed? In this episode of Blood Brothers Men, we will take a look at what this means. Comment below on your take.
Back to the basics men. We need to always be engaged in the battle against passivity. Today I share with you 5 words and phrases that must be a regular part of our vocabulary. If you are not using these words, chances are people are taking advantage of you, you are agitating them by not being clear, and you are a pushover. No one likes to see a spineless man. Be a man of confidence and courage, not timidity.
It's clear that our culture has made some significant shifts the past few years and especially this year. In episode 63, I shared what I believe is the best way we can respond to our culture as Christian men. Episode 64 is part 2 of this series where I go into more detail about how we can form our response.
We are seeing some of the worst of American culture. For a Christian, we are faced with the question, "Where does our allegiance lie?" Today, guest Richard Pratt from Third Millennium Ministries joins us for a very insightful conversation that will have you re-thinking your allegiance and challenge your faith. thirdmill.org exists to provide Biblical Education, to the World, For Free. Consider supporting this world-changing ministry.
2020...what a year. COVID-19 Riots in the cities. Politics. It can be overwhelming and for a Christian, we need to respond in a way that is in line with Scripture. Do we start conversations? Protest? Should the church preach more sermons on the issues? In Episode #63 of Blood Brothers Men, I'll share my approach. Make sure to like and subscribe - it goes a long way. Social media and our devices have taken the place of godly wisdom. We are swayed by opinions that lack knowledge and truth. Senior Editor at The Gospel Coalition, and author, Brett McCracken developed "The Wisdom Pyramid". The Wisdom Pyramid uses the food pyramid concept as a tool to help us understand where our sources of wisdom should come from and which we need to take in moderation. Don't miss this episode of The Blood Brothers Podcast. It will change your wisdom perception.
With the instability of our current cultural climate, we can be tempted to try to take on issues that we may not be qualified for. Rather than taking on each individual concern in our society, we need to understand that what we see is a heart issue. If we can confront our own hearts and then the hearts of others, we can begin to see some real change. In this episode, I offer three suggestions on how to respond with wisdom and grace.
As men who are followers of God, it can be hard to approach others with the message of the gospel. Richard Caraballo is the owner of Bibles n Barbells; a clothing brand designed to provide those opportunities while providing high-quality clothing and accessories for customers. In this episode, we hear the origins of Bibles n Barbells, how faith and fitness are interwoven, and Richard's incredible testimony.
Gentlemen welcome to The Blood Brothers Podcast. In this episode, we go back to the basics, something we all need to be reminded of. We look at the first steps to battling passivity in our lives. A man does not live with a spirit of fear and timidity but he lives with power, love, and self-discipline - 1 Tim 1.7. Let's not forget this. Be the man God created you to be.
Many of us have settled into routines. We need to be cautious of settling. From time to time, we need to step back and ask; is this the best thing for me? Am I growing? Is there a better way? Is my routine actually just a bad habit? This is where discipline comes in. We hear and talk about discipline a lot but are we actually doing hard things on a regular basis? If we really want to grow, we need discipline (not just a lot of talk about it).
Gentlemen welcome to The Blood Brothers Podcast. At present, many of us are in quarantine and at times, our emotions can get to us. Today we will be discussing how we can manage our emotions well. I take Ryan Michler's (Order of Man) dashboard analogy and expound on it some. If you are a passive man, this episode is a must. But whether you are or not, there is something to be learned for each of us.

Gentlemen, today we are joined by the Marriage Mechanic, Scott Minnich. Scott says there are 25 problems that a marriage can face and the good news is, all of them have solutions. Men, don't ever let the pursuit of your wife stop. Keep climbing to the mountaintop.
Gentlemen welcome to The Blood Brothers Podcast. Though I didn't want to do this episode, it seemed like I had to considering our current circumstances with COVID-19. I hope and pray this time will quickly go by but at present, we just don't know.
People are responding in a variety of ways. Some are ignorant or panicked but then there are some that are capitalizing by making wise decisions and being a leader.
Be a capitalizer.
Gentlemen welcome to The Blood Brothers Podcast and another episode of Theology Thursday. Revelation is one of the most interesting books in Scripture. John has this vision and the stuff he sees is whack! There are a number of views and today we will take a very brief look at the 3 main ones. Be gracious men. I realized after the fact that fitting this discussion in 10 minutes is no easy feat.

Gentlemen today on The Blood Brothers Podcast we look at why men need a cause and need to be active in it and not simply vocal SJW's or slacktivists. This longing for a battle to fight often will come in the form of a cause you can get behind and move forward.
Today we will look at 3 easy steps to identify a cause, get your feet wet and then jump full in. Men, see this as your duty.
Gentlemen, we are well aware of the negative cultural influences on the home and on masculinity. Men need to step up as leaders in the home in order to raise healthy, confident children, and in order to bear the burdens of their wives. This is our responsibility to bear but so often it seems like all are against us. Today's guest, Tommy Jenkins provides some helpful insights on fatherhood, marriage, and balance in the home.
Gentlemen welcome to The Blood Brothers Podcast and another edition of Theology Thursday. Gentlemen welcome to The Blood Brothers Podcast. Today we look briefly at love language, what they are, how to discover them, and why we need to implement them toward those we love.

Gentlemen science has come a long way...at least it seems that way. Time will tell. It used to be that butter, eggs, and fat was cursed. Today they are praised. What most of us want to know is how to eat for life. Not a quick fix or a fad that we won't stick with. Today, I share my experience in hopes of giving you some wisdom for your own decisions. (Crunches on bacon!)
(Of course - ask a doctor before starting any diet plan...yada, yada...)
Gentlemen, I love my Jeep...you know, nothing romantic but I really enjoy it. Problem is, it's ugly, bolts are rusted, occasionally the gauges on the dash do nothing, it usually takes 3 tries to start it, the exhaust system is pretty rough. But...I see its potential and I know what can happen. Therefore, it has tremendous value to me.
See where this is going?
Gentlemen welcome to Blood Brothers and another Theology Thursday. Today we discuss baptism. Should we dunk, sprinkle, splash, adults, toddlers, babies? So many possibilities.

Gentlemen, have you ever been a victim of "the grass is greener" syndrome? That feeling that if I just had a better job, a better car, the right wife, all would be well. If so, you need to be aware of the dangers of this kind of thinking. It's okay to dream and even pursue your dreams but be careful to not wallow in your misery because you don't have the right "stuff". In this episode, I share how we can overcome grass is greener and potentially resolve our current situation or pursue our dreams wis

Gentlemen welcome to season 2 of The Blood Brothers Podcast. Every day and nearly every moment, we are making decisions. We all want to make wise decisions but clearly that's not always the case. What if we were more mindful? What if we considered the results and consequences prior to making the decision?
Let's give it a try.

Gentlemen welcome to The Blood Brothers Podcast. Remember Monty Python's "I'm a Lumberjack" song? It was hysterical...because it's crazy! A lumberjack doesn't wear women's clothing! Today we are going to go over some basics for raising boys that won't wear women's clothing.
Gentlemen welcome to The Blood Brothers Podcast. Today I want to share with you about my first hunt, why I did it, what I learned, and why you should consider trying it or passing your hunting knowledge on to new hunters. Thank you to Urban Outfittings PA for making this happen.
Gentlemen, if you are like me, you get stuck from time to time. Someone is critical, you're being lazy, you get stuck in your head.
Our approach needs to be well thought out and we need to be as disciplined as an MMA fighter. Strike quickly, get ready for what's next and push forward.
Gentlemen welcome to The Blood Brothers Podcast. Today we are honored to have Reverend Matt Morginsky of Grace and Peace Church, Denver. Matt is also the former lead of the O.C. Supertones.

Welcome to The Blood Brothers Podcast.
"God made me this way!" This is the common excuse of the day. Did God design you to be a pervert, a gossip, an alcoholic, a marriage destroyer? Then why do we use this excuse with other sins? Today we are going to discuss how and why you need to be assertive with a brother going down a path of destruction.

Gentlemen life can be tough. Maybe misery is a little strong but I imagine there have been a few times where you have felt this way. Life really is a series of ups and downs. It's a story being written and in a good story, the main character faces challenges. But what we ultimately need is real hope and not a blind hope. The good news is, this hope exists and misery is overcome.
Men, there is so much distraction in our lives and so much that can cause us to lose our identity. Mitch London has seen this all too often in men and so he obeyed a call in his life to do something about it. Just Add Wilderness is Mitch's ministry to help men find their identity in Christ by getting away from the distraction by heading to the mountains of Colorado. Here, Mitch guides men on a path to discovery of who they are in Christ. Check out Just Add Wilderness right here.
Gentlemen, the truth is niceness does not solve everything. In fact, sometimes you can be so nice that you drive everyone around you crazy! If you are the man that drowns people in compliments to avoid confrontation, you are doing them a disservice because they probably don't know your opinion or what you want. Or, maybe you have someone like this at work. A supervisor who just won't be straight with you. Today we are going to look at basic steps you can take to get more clarity from the nice peop

Gentlemen, there are times in our lives when it feels like we are alone. Will God show up? Is He fed up with helping us once again? Does He even see us as a failure?
These are the times that we need to look back at the monuments built marking His good works and faithfulness and this is when we need other men in our lives to build us back up.
Gentlemen welcome to The Blood Brothers Podcast. In this episode, we will explore the origins of Blood Brothers. Yes, we are not even a year old but few know how or why we started.

Gentlemen, in this episode of The Blood Brothers Podcast we will focus on the core area of spirituality. As men of God, we have a responsibility to hard Scripture thoughtfully and carefully. Our purpose is not to shame others in their understanding but rather to honor God with handling truth rightly. This is a lost art that we should be passing on to the next generation. Check out this episode for some basic steps we can take to get the best understanding of Scripture.
Gentlemen welcome to The Blood Brothers Podcast.
In this episode, I share 3 principles for young men in the dating scene but also for fathers to share with their sons and daughters. As God-honoring men, we need to show honor and respect to women and be proper gentlemen - which seems to be more of a lost art.

Gentlemen, welcome to The Blood Brothers Podcast. Today we will be discussing the misery that we go through and the misery we cause. If we can know what "triggers" us to both go through pain and suffering (unnecessarily) and cause pain and suffering, we can take steps to begin to alleviate them both from our lives. In essence, we can remove some of the hell and bring a taste of heaven to both our own lives and the lives of those around us.
Gentlemen welcome to The Blood Brothers Podcast. Our guest today is Jesse Biretz, a local friend with an impactful story. If you struggle with passivity and a lack of confidence, Jesse will inspire you. In this episode we will take a look at why being a man is not the top priority. First, we need to see our powerlessness and humble ourselves. Then being a man can begin.

Gentlemen welcome to The Blood Brothers Podcast.
This week we are back with a new Blood Oath Challenge. This one is focused on your health, specifically developing controlled eating habits. We all binge from time to time or maybe for you, it's every night. This simple yet effective practice can help you gain control!
It seems a lot of men are struggling with depression often linked to finding purpose. As followers of God, we know that our purpose is rooted in Him but how do we clarify that purpose? In part 2 of How to Rediscover Purpose in Your Life, we will look at question 1 from the Westminster Shorter Catechism. Yeah, pretty deep, I know. If you are struggling with purpose, don't get stuck there and fall deeper into depression but take action to rediscover purpose in your life.
I am hearing more and reading more about men that have lost their purpose in life. This is a normal phase in life but it's not a phase we want to stay in for too long. Feeling purposeless brings on anxiety, depression, and for some, even suicide.
Broadly speaking, our purpose is to save many lives. In this episode of The Blood Brothers Podcast, we will look at Donald Miller's Storyline workbook to help us figure out our story and what adventure awaits us. Check it out!
Often times Christian men, especially passive, Christian men, struggle with guilt. We are expected to go the extra mile, help those in need, turn the other cheek. Dad Hackers is now over 50 episodes. Time some time to check out the podcast to learn how you can be God-honoring parent that raises kids that will do the same.

In this episode of The Blood Brothers Podcast we take a closer look at self-discipline based on the Bible verse 2 Timothy 1.7.
Nearly every show on masculinity talks about the need for self-discipline. It is a defining factor in who we are. But we fail over and over unless we have a motivator or an obstacle to beat.
(Forgive the quality in this episode - trying a new DAW that needs some tweaking.)
In this 7th episode of The Blood Brothers Podcast we will look at the core value of leadership. We will learn how and why speaking up for yourself is imperative to being a confident man. Don't just listen, do!

Welcome to The Blood Brothers Podcast. In this episode, you will be challenged to build more confidence in your life through physical touch in your relationship with your spouse or girlfriend.
Listening is great but does us no good without action!
All people want power. No one wants to be controlled. We may submit to a man of integrity and respect but this man has earned his power.
Today we are going to look at some words that come from the Bible. Whether you are a follower of God or not, these are wise words.
You've been given power - learn how to use it well!
In this first Blood Oath Challenge, we will focus on the core area of health and fitness to help build your confidence with small victories.
In episode #2 of The Blood Brothers Podcast you will hear some of why Blood Brothers was formed.
We all go through negative experiences. I had embraced a victim's mindset and brought about my own destruction. We need to be aware of the lens we look through and make the necessary adjustments. Not just for our own well-being but for the people around us as well.
Join me on this journey as we learn how to boost our confidence and become the men we were created to be.
Blood Brothers is a brotherhood of men that are fed up with a mediocre life. If you've struggled with confidence, assertiveness, and lack of contentment with life in general, you've come to the right place.
