In this episode, we explore how to access and manage contacts on our phone. By pressing and holding the back button, we can go to the home screen and navigate to the Contacts option. From there, we can view a list of contacts and easily navigate through them using the arrow keys. Pressing OK allows us to access various options for each contact, such as dialing, texting, editing, assigning ringtones, sharing, or deleting. Managing our contacts becomes quick and convenient with this simple process.
During the Unmute Presents Community Call, we discussed app recommendations for scanning text on phones, updates on the iAccessibility app, and upcoming Android version updates. We addressed participant questions, shared podcast episodes, and discussed various accessibility issues with Siri and iOS 17. Michael Deuss shared his positive experience with the new iPhone 15 Pro, highlighting its lighter design and great speakers. How to Add a Contact on Blindshell Classic 2This guide will walk you through the process of adding a contact to your Blindshell Classic 2.
Accessing the Contacts Menu1. Start from the main screen with the time and battery status. 2. Press the down button until you hear “Contacts 3 of 7”. 3. Press the OK button to access the contacts list.
Adding a New Contact1. In the contacts menu, select “Add new contact”. 2. Press the OK button to start adding a new contact. 3. You will be presented with a list of eight different options or items you can add to your contact. The ninth option is “Save”.
Inputting Contact Details1. For each item you want to add details to, press the OK button. 2. For example, to add a first name, press OK when you hear “First name. One of nine.” 3. Wait for the “doo-doo” sound. This indicates that the phone is ready for you to type or dictate the content for the selected field. 4. Type or dictate the name. 5. Confirm the text you’ve entered by using the button directly above the back button or the slanted line to repeat the contents of the field. 6. If the information is correct, press the OK button. 7. You can confirm that the data was entered successfully because you will hear the item name and then the contents you added. 8. Use the down arrow key to select the next item. For example, “Surname, two of nine”. Press OK to add a surname. 9. Wait for the “doo-doo” sound again, then speak or type the contents. 10. Repeat the process for each item you want to add.
Adding Phone Numbers1. When you’re entering phone numbers, the phone is smart enough that you don’t have to press the number multiple times to access numbers. 2. Simply enter the number as you expect. For example, for the number “54156”, start with “5”, then “4”, then “1”, and so on. 3. Press OK to confirm the phone number.
Saving the Contact1. Once you’ve filled out all the information you want to add to the contact, select “Save Contact”. 2. The phone will then verify that the contact has been saved.
Remember, for each item that you want to add details to, you need to press OK so you hear the sound that the keyboard is ready for entry. Once you’re done entering the contents of that field, press the OK button to confirm that.

Episode NotesIn this episode of the iACast podcast, we have a group of hosts including Jeff Bishop, Marty Sobo, Lynn Schneider, Taylor Arndt and Michael Doise. We start by discussing our excitement for the upcoming Apple event and the release of new iPhones. We express differing opinions on whether we prefer the software or hardware announcements and mention the prevalence of rumors before Apple events. We then move on to discuss our hopes for what we would like to see on the new devices, including the possibility of a “one more thing” announcement.
Next, we decide to discuss non-iPhone topics first before diving into AirPods and the rumors of a USB-C case. We express our desire for a single cable to charge all our devices and discuss the possibility of waiting for the next generation of AirPods Pro. We propose the idea of buying just the case for the original AirPods Pro 2 that we already own and consider the environmental impact of releasing a new case with USB-C.
Moving on, we talk about the potential release of AirPods 4 and discuss the features we would like to see, such as volume control and better transparency. We also speculate whether the new U2 chip will be included in the AirPod 4s or the iPhone 15/16. We mention the possibility of AirPods being able to unlock devices and discuss the potential for health-related features like temperature monitoring. We anticipate that there will be a focus on vision-related technologies and discuss the potential release of new iMacs and a new M3 chip for Macs. We debate whether a separate Mac event will be held in October and consider the possibility of an ultra version of a product.
In the next part of the conversation, we shift our focus to the upcoming Apple Watch release. We express our hope for blood glucose monitoring to be included in the watch and discuss the lack of significant changes in the watch’s performance since the 6th version. We debate whether it’s worth upgrading from the 8th version to the 9th and mention the possibility of adding a button for assigning tasks or apps on the regular versions of the watch. We briefly touch on the iPhone and express our desire for longer battery life.
