Today we are diving into the idea that embracing change is essential for personal and professional growth. Inspired by a powerful lyric from Ben Rector's song "Wreck," I’m sharing my thoughts on why healthy things grow and how growing things inevitably change. Join me as we explore how the transformative power of CHANGE can open up new opportunities, bring healing, and lead to growth in both life and business. Excited for you to hear all about: * How music and lyrics can have a profound impact on our emotions and personal development. * Why the phrase "Healthy things grow, and growing things change" has become a powerful mantra for me, both in life and in business. * The importance of shifting out of stagnation and why embracing growth is necessary. * How different seasons of life may require different ways of thinking and acting. * The idea that we cannot heal in the same environment where we got hurt in. * Why changing both our internal thoughts and external environments is CRUCIAL for true growth. * How coaches and mentors can play a vital role in helping us break free from old patterns.

And you’ll even leave with some practical steps you can take to start embracing change in your own life and business! Be sure to post about the action steps you take and tag me! I love seeing leaders take action! STOP overanalyzing and start taking ACTION! In this episode, I share insights from a recent mastermind session with Phil M. Jones, author of ‘Exactly What to Say’, to point out how endless note-taking and preparation won't lead to progress—only action will. We'll explore the fears and feelings that often hold us back and discuss practical ways to acknowledge these barriers and move beyond them. Whether you're a leader, coach, or someone who feels stuck, this episode will challenge you to make a decision, take that first step, and start moving toward your purpose. I’ll leave these notes for you so you can go ahead and start with the action wink wink. In this episode we discuss: - Why we need to stop taking so many notes and start implementing what we already know. - The fears that hold us back, like fear of failure or perfectionism. - How to recognize when we're stalling or stuck in indecision and how to use that awareness to take action. - How our actions can inspire and free others to take action as well. - That B-minus work is better than no work—it's okay to take imperfect action. - The mindset, "I know exactly what to do next," and then TAKE THAT NEXT STEP! Hey everyone, welcome back to the Prosperity with Purpose podcast! I hope you found last week's freedom prayer experience transformative and enlightening.

In this episode, we're exploring the incredible perks of entrepreneurship. I'll walk you through six compelling reasons that make running your own business not just a career choice but a life-changing adventure. From the unlimited potential to earn to the flexibility of designing your own schedule, entrepreneurship empowers you to actively shape your future and break free from conventional limitations.

Moreover, being an entrepreneur isn't just about financial gains; it's a journey of personal growth and transformation. Every step challenges you to evolve, pushing you to new heights of personal and professional development. Whether you're a seasoned business owner or just starting out, this episode is designed to inspire you, ignite your passion, and remind you of the profound impact you can have on the world just by pursuing your entrepreneurial dreams.

Six reasons being an entrepreneur is awesome:

  1. Creating a Different Future: Entrepreneurs have the unique ability to actively shape their future rather than being passive participants in their lives.
  2. No Income Ceiling: Unlike traditional jobs, entrepreneurship doesn't limit earnings to a salary or hourly rate, offering potentially unlimited financial growth.
  3. Work Flexibility: Entrepreneurs enjoy the freedom to choose when and where they work, allowing for a better balance between personal life and professional responsibilities.
  4. Inspiring Others: By pursuing a non-traditional career path and succeeding, entrepreneurs serve as role models, encouraging others to dream and pursue their own goals.
  5. Providing Value: Entrepreneurs contribute significantly by offering products or services that meet people’s needs, enhancing their customers' lives.
  6. Personal and Professional Growth: The journey of entrepreneurship demands continual personal and professional development, pushing entrepreneurs to grow and evolve constantly.

Today, we’re stepping into a unique and transformative experience together. This isn’t just any episode; it’s an experiential journey meant to be fully embraced in a quiet, undisturbed space. So, I encourage you to find a peaceful spot, close your eyes, and truly immerse yourself in what we’re about to explore.

In this session, we dive into the powerful practice of freedom prayer—a tool I often share with my clients. I want you to tap into deep truths that free us from the lies we've unknowingly embraced about ourselves, often from a very young age. Through this guided prayer, we’ll confront these falsehoods—these seeds of doubt and fear that have grown into burdensome trees in our adult lives, affecting everything from our personal happiness to our professional success.

We’ll use what I call "holy imagination" to visualize and interact with our deeper selves, guided by faith and openness to spiritual insights. This process isn't just about listening; it's about participating in a journey to uncover the truths that can set you free from past hurts and present insecurities.

Ready to experience a profound shift? Make sure you’re in a place where you can close your eyes and journey inward without interruption. Let’s get started and unlock the freedom that awaits.

I'm covering:

  • Introduction to the concept of freedom prayer as a tool for spiritual and emotional liberation.
  • Importance of engaging fully in the experience, requiring a quiet space and closed eyes.
  • Explanation of the "tree of bondage," detailing how early false beliefs about ourselves take root and affect our adult lives.
  • The role of childhood experiences in shaping our self-perception and emotional responses.
  • Discussion on "holy imagination" as a technique to visualize and interact with spiritual truths.
  • Encouragement to use guided visualization to revisit and heal from past memories that have shaped current beliefs.
  • Explanation of how feelings and emotions can lead us to uncover underlying lies and the truth that can set us free.
  • Instruction on how to prepare for and engage in the freedom prayer session, emphasizing the importance of openness and receptivity to spiritual guidance.

Want a different result?!

Today on the podcast I share a process to create a different result in your life. Yes, YOU are an active participant in your life and future you’re creating. It’s not just “happening” or “not happening”....here is a personal example of how I went through the process below in one of my businesses and how I empower others to do the same for theirs. You’ll love it!!

-ACCEPT where you are.

(The truth will set you free no matter how painful)

-AWARENESS of what got you there….or what didn’t get you to where you want to be.

-OWNERSHIP of what YOU can do to change the situation, not anybody else.

-INTENTIONALITY focus on clear thoughts and actions to steer the ship in a different direction and commit to the process of spending time there.

-ACCOUNTABILITY from coach or power partner or someone to stay on track with those clear areas of focus.

There are SEASONS in our life and business and this song in particular helped me cling to HOPE and a PROMISE of the future. Whatever season you find yourself in may the lyrics to this special song speak to you in a POWERFUL way. I can't listen without crying…

Seasons by Hillsong

Like the frost on a rose

Winter comes for us all

Oh, how nature acquaints us

With the nature of patience

And like a seed in the snow

I've been buried to grow

For Your promise is loyal

From seed to sequoia

I know

Though the winter is long even richer

The harvest it brings

And though my waiting prolongs even greater

Your promise for me like a seed

I believe that my season will come

Lord, I think of Your love

Like the low winter sun

And as I gaze I am blinded

In the light of Your brightness

Like a fire to the snow

I'm renewed in Your warmth

Melt the ice of this wild soul

'Til the barren is beautiful

And I know (come on)

Though the winter is long even richer

The harvest it brings

And though my waiting prolongs even greater

Your promise for me like a seed

I believe that my season will come

(God, You're not done)

I can see the promise

I can see the future

You're the God of seasons

And I'm just in the winter

If all I know of harvest

Is that it's worth my patience

Then if You're not done working

God, I'm not done waiting

'Cause You can see my promise

And even in the winter

'Cause You're the God of greatness

Even in a manger

For all I know of seasons

Is that You take Your time

You could have saved us in a second

Instead, You sent a child

Though the winter is long even richer

The harvest it brings

And though my waiting prolongs even greater

And Your promise for me like a seed

I believe that my season will come

And when I finally see my tree

I believe there's a season to come

Like a seed You were sown

For the sake of us all

From Bethlehem's soil

Grew Calvary's sequoia

"I'm on assignment"

That seemingly small phrase is POWER PACKED when you live by it! It affects how you spend your time, resources, energy, etc. It makes saying NO so much easier because you are clear on what you are saying YES to! Because you are on assignment to steward on this earth!

STEWARD: a person looks after, manages or is responsible to take care of something.

God owns everything, we are simply managers, stewards.

It's not yours. Time, not yours. Money, not yours. Your business, not yours.

You're on assignment.

Ready to prioritize what your assignment is so HE can make the most impact?!

I can help!

Click or go to www.jessicahefley.com/grow I couldn't find my jacket!!! No big deal right? BUT IT WAS, it was a HUGE DEAL!!! Haha! And THAT is why it set off my "triggers" siren and I turned that story into Good News by unhooking myself from another layer of perfectionism. But I thought I had already dealt with all of that?! CLEARLY not, and instead of judging myself I got curious about what was REALLY going on and found another layer of healing!

GRACE- it's an invitation to love and accept yourself and your imperfections as a business woman, wife and mom. And the more grace we extend to ourselves the more it allows you to love and accept others in their imperfections. Click or go to www.jessicahefley.com/grow You KNOW what you need to do in your business, I'm more curious WHY you are doing it? ;)

If you could ask yourself one question, if you could ask your team one question let it be, "WHAT ARE YOU AVOIDING OR RESISTING...and WHY?"

Then pause, literally shut up...let there be a long awkward silence if need be. But don't answer for them.

Last week's episode all about the Feelings Wheel is REALLY going to help you with this one. Go back and take a listen first if you haven't yet.

In today's episode a walk through everything I have someone ask themselves and evaluate before I do a 1 on 1 Plexus Coaching call with them (My Prosperity with Purpose Mentorship coaching calls are a little different) but still full of me asking questions.

Here is the link to the form I use in my Network Marketing Business, adjust and utilize for your line of work: Click HERE

They/You KNOW exactly what you need to do.

Strategy is not your issue. Strategy gets clearer and clearer the more you get curious about WHY you aren't doing the things and then make POWERFUL DECISIONS to focus on the thoughts and feelings you want to create to get you your results.

You live into the story you tell yourself!

So what are YOU avoiding or resisting? Why have YOU not already reached your goal?

12 weeks of interactive coaching designed to help you steward your life, multiply your business God’s way, and CREATE MORE PEACE to MAKE MORE MONEY!!

When life got too busy I did something about it and that was when I was on the brink of burnout in the midst of a move during our busiest travel month of the year and the Lord whispered to rest and take time off. When I finally made the decision to rest so much peace was released. I really felt the Lord tell me to rest, move into my new home, help my family find rhythms in our new space, and invite people into our home. Home is the right word for it. Routines and rhythms in the new place attuned to my children, to help my husband rest after an exciting and stressful year opening 2 new businesses. We enjoyed decorating, resting, and all the fun things that come around the holidays. It was such a gift to me and my family to take this time to rest, so I want to tell you the 5 lessons that I learned from my sabbatical. I can't wait to hear how you incorporate more rest so you can truly PROSPER in your work from PURPOSE. Today we're talking about perfectionists! Raise your hand if that's you. I'm raising both of my hands right now...

Who do you associate perfectionism with? Typically we don't associate that with OURSELVES. Did you know that procrastination is one of the BIGGEST indicators that you may be a perfectionist?

"B- is better than an F" what does that mean? Sometimes DONE is better than PERFECT... because nothing you do will ever be perfect!

My challenge for you... what if you just get it DONE and stop trying to perfect everything. Stop overthinking every detail. Just DO IT.

What if you got curious about the weight of your own judgement? Maybe it's our own expectations keeping us and blocking us from moving forward, not the weight of others judgments.

God is longing to remind you of the TRUTH of who HE says you are! Christ has made you whole in Him.

THE LIE- it’s bad to love yourself because if you do it will distract you from taking care of and thinking about others.

Want to learn how to truly love others in a HEALTHY unconditional way?

Start by LOVING yourself.

Self love isn’t self-obsessed...it’s actually quite the opposite. It actually opens you up and empowers you TO love others more fully❤️.

February we are exploring the TRANSFORMING power of our loving thoughts which affects how we show up as a leader, as a mom, in how we view and treat our physical bodies, how we RECEIVE and how we can create what once seemed impossible because love and loving thoughts CHANGES everything!!!!

Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’

Matthew 22:37-39.

A couple of weeks ago our 10-year-old son Judson was in the school spelling bee. It was optional to sign up and they had over a month to study the practice spelling list and prepare and he was terrified but he signed up on his own anyways. And I secretly did the HAPPY dance because my very shy, and easily embarrassed, basically, me incarnate but a boy as a kid who chose to do something he was terrified of. This instantly makes him my hero because he was WAY more courageous than I ever did in 4th grade!

I watched him study, I saw him write out and practice some of the more difficult words. I listened to him nervously talk about it for weeks. I watched his face LIGHT up when his dad offered to buy him (without talking to me first) the new PS5 he didn’t get for Christmas (on purpose) if he got in the top 5.

My momma heart was so torn. He talked about that PS5 he wanted to win allllllllllll the time! He dreamed about it, talked about what games he was going to buy to go with it, was giddy about the idea, and practiced his spelling words to win that spelling bee.

Rob was out of town the day of the spelling bee so I rearranged heaven and earth to ensure I was there. And it did something to my insides seeing all those kids up there on the big stage with the bright lights and the audience and them CHOOSING to put themselves out there. CHOOSING to possibly have to feel failure, embarrassment, fear, regret, all the painful emotions that are a possibility when you do something new or scary or not guaranteed. And they did it! These 8-11-year-olds did it! And I cried! I was SO RIDICULOUSLY PROUD OF THEM!

Public speaking is one of the BIGGEST fears of adults. And even with public speaking you usually have notes or have rehearsed what you’ll say or are reading a teleprompter but these kids had none of that! They were literally put on the spot, didn’t know what they were going to be asked to spell, and chose to do it anyways!

This is monumental to me! They walk up to a microphone one by one, all alone, in a quiet full auditorium where only 1 of 2 outcomes is about to happen. They are about to misspell or get wrong if you will in front of a crowd of their peers and loved ones or they are about to get it right and advance to the next round. The possibility of devastation, embarrassment, and pain….or excitement, accomplishment, and confidence. There is a possibility for both. And they still chose to give it a try!

I’m literally teary because I saw on each of their faces how devastatingly nerve-wracking this was. And I saw the disappointment when kids misspelled and I saw some faces light up when they advanced BOTH.

We, adults, have a lot to learn from this. How often do we NOT do something because of fear of uncomfortable emotion, or let down or not being “good enough” or the best at something?

Pause right now and put your hand over your heart. Let yourself breathe in and out deeply three times. Go ahead, I’ll wait……

You have dreams, you have things you are curious about trying, and there are things that I know you want that will require you to put yourself out there or have a conversation that might be difficult. There might be the possibility of failure, embarrassment, fear, or regret. But there is also the possibility of excitement, progress, success, and fulfillment! You are capable of feeling them both and still moving forward. You can do it! If those 4th graders can put themselves out there you can too! Oh the faith of a child, we have so much to learn from them.

Oh and Judson tied for 4th place! And I’m now a PlayStation widow because that prize was for Judson just as much as it was for my husband, haha!

How can you be more like those 4th graders?

Saying no to something means saying yes to something else.

Saying yes to something means saying no to something else.

So why is it so hard? Why is it so hard to say NO to someone?

Recently on multiple occasions, I’ve had someone ask if I could meet up with them for coffee. My immediate response in my head was “I don’t want to” quickly followed by the self-condemning thoughts of ”ugg I”m such a horrible person.”

Why was I equating the thought “I don’t want to do something” to me being a horrible person?!

Co-Dependent much?

Sidenote-

Co-Dependent basically is being so concerned about making others happy or desperately doing all you can to please other people, to make everyone else happy, and is a strong sense to be needed and wanted by others. It is very common but what you may not know is it’s actually a form of manipulation…you rarely show up authentically and leads to a lot of bitterness and resentment which is a LOT to unpack maybe at a later date.

(if you want to learn more about that the book The New Codependency by Melody Beattle is a great resource)

But I don’t want her to think I’m too busy for her or too busy for anyone, I want to be perceived as having time for everyone because that would make me a good “Christian Friend”.

So basically I want to be in control of how I’m perceived by others

I want to be in control of what others think of me.

Basically, I want to be in control, HAHA!

So why does one seek to “control”?

Often the root is to feel SAFE.

It feels REAL unsafe to not be able to control someone’s perception of us because if we can’t then there is the possibility that they could choose to judge us, reject us, or decide to think something about us that isn’t true.

But you know what the craziest thing of all is, even if I was perfect and truly had complete control of how I’m perceived they could STILL choose to judge, reject or decide differently about me (its called free will) and that, if I’m being honest initially feels downright terrifying.

That feels out of control.

That feels unsafe, doesn't it?!

What’s even more fascinating to me is that Jesus Christ, LITERAL perfection, God incarnate, who was without sin, had people HATE him, misjudge him, mock him, reject Him, and ultimately kill him!

And you know that the Bible says over and over and over and over in between His time being with and ministering to people…He went to a solitary place to pray. He tapped into and prioritized connection, communion, and TIME with God REGULARLY. He knew what “his assignment” was and what it wasn’t. He was able to handle the opinions of others because he was SOLID in his opinion and God’s opinion and identity of himself.

So many of us walk around this life being extra careful and extra cautious of what we allow others to see and don’t even realize that our motivation to appear so put together or so “perfect” is because we DESPERATELY grasping at avoiding the possibility of feeling an uncomfortable or out of our control feeling someone else “might” have of us.

Did you know everything we do or don’t do is because of a feeling?!

The reason you do everything you do and the reason you don’t do the things you don’t do it because you are trying to FEEL a certain way or NOT FEEL a certain way.

It's truly fascinating.

Test it out.

Our THOUGHTS are what create certain FEELINGS and from FEELINGS we are motivated to do or NOT do anything and everything.

No seriously, test it out.

The reason you work out or don’t work out is because of a feeling….that is fueled by a thought you are choosing to think.

The reason you are bad with money or good with money is because of a feeling you have towards money…that is fueled by a thought you are choosing to think about it.

The reason you show up as a leader or shy away from leading is because of a feeling you have about your leadership….that is fueled by a thought you are choosing to think about it.

The reason you spend time working or don’t spend time working is because of a feeling you have about your work from a thought you have.

And here’s a kicker, we don’t fall out of love with our spouse, we just stop thinking loving thoughts towards them….which makes our feelings change.

FEELINGS AREN'T FACTS!

We’ll really be diving into this one in February inside of Leading Leading on the topic of transformation and unconditional love for ourselves and others and how we get to create as much love in our lives as we want

ANYTIME WE WANT!

The only way to FEEL more love in your life is to THINK more loving thoughts

And in turn, this even affects our PHYSICAL bodies, it’s fascinating!

Are you blessing or cursing your body with your thoughts about yourself?!

But back to feeling bad for saying no to someone.

A couple of guidelines I ask myself is “is this my assignment?”

If we are here by assignment and in partnership with God in our calling some things will be FOR us and some won’t. Sometimes we have to trust that we aren’t the one to help them and that someone or something else is. (We might need to give up that hero complex, we can’t save them all and that's ok)

Also, when I’m saying no to someone what is the YES I AM saying yes to? Celebrate and focus on that! Don’t just focus on the no, focus on when you said no it meant you saying YES to something else that is important. For me, I KNOW that I know that I know if I don’t have down time and time to process and reflect and have the energy to pour into my family and into Leading Ladies then I’m doing what I’ve been CALLED to do a disservice. They aren’t getting the BEST of me if I exhaust myself with what “isn’t my assignment” in this season.

I’m not saying use being an introvert or come in agreement with debilitating anxiety and never have a face-to-face conversation with someone…that’s a whole different podcast episode. But do take a moment and be aware of your thoughts and feelings….aware that feelings aren’t facts and make POWERFUL DECISIONS on purpose. Powerful decisions produce the fruit of refinement and peace…not bitterness and resentment.

And as always check in with yourself….and if your motivation to do something is only because you don’t want to be perceived or judged a certain way if you don’t….probably not the best or healthiest motivation.

Blessing to you and blessings to your BEST YES and trusting God with the rest ;) Join me at leadingladiesmovement.com to sign up!

When you think of “inheritance” what comes to mind? For some reason, I think of a wealthy person who dies and everything that belongs to them gets passed down to blood relatives as a gift. It’s theirs and they take it. Right? I’m currently taking a Dream Course and in passing Steven Maddox told a story about all his life God had been pointing him to work in film and be a writer and he kept denying it. Not believing that was his identity. Not believing that was for him. One day at church a man even came up to him and said he felt led by God to gift him this box FULL of nice camera equipment, like lots of it, expensive stuff, and he thought “this isn’t for me.” So he gave it away. HE GAVE IT AWAY to someone else! Because he didn’t think “it was for him” He gave away his “inheritance”, something God wanted him to have for free because He didn’t think it was for him… Hang with me, this lines up too perfectly with this song my husband and I have had on repeat for a couple of months and I shared inside LEADING LADIES last week as we had a time of soaking, journaling, and hearing from the Lord on their partnership with HIm in their calling this month. Calling= the work they do to meet the needs of others. Here are some of the lyrics below and then I’ll explain. It’s called SOUND MIND by Melissa Helser, you should definitely take a listen… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gVkwoi2ARhM There are sooooooooo many takeaways and things we could discuss from these lyrics but for today here’s where we are headed. 2 Timothy 1:7 is a fairly common verse. “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but the Holy Spirit who gives you power, love, and a SOUND MIND.” You’ve probably heard it multiple times, but what does SOUND MIND really mean? Well, I looked it up and about peed my pants!!! It comes from the Greek Word sopreneo, a compound word of sodzo and phreneo. sodzo- meaning saved or delivered. (on the verge of death but then was revived and resuscitated because new life was breathed into him) Something that is delivered, recused, revived, salvaged, protected and is now safe and secure. phrenoeo- intelligence or total frame of thinking including rationale, logic and emotions. Every part of the human mind, including all the processes that are engaged in making the mind function and come to conclusions. So think about those two definitions in light of fear. When we are operating in or under fear what does that do to every single part of us? What does that make us come into agreement with? How does that affect every single thought, feeling, action, decision, and result in our life? Now let’s take this back to inheritance. What’s been given to you, that is yours? It is NOT fear. It is power, love and a SOUND MIND. Are you giving that way because you “don’t think you deserve it”?! So much of bringing heaven to earth and partnering in our authority in Jesus comes in our calling and stewarding that well starts with AGREEMENT and IDENTITY! Your IDENTITY in Jesus name is POWER, LOVE and SOUND MIND. Your IDENTITY is BLESSED. Your IDENTITY is just something you have to take and stop giving it away because you don’t think it is for you. IT'S FOR YOU! This journey of revelation and identity of your True Self in light of Christ is just starting to heat up inside LEADING LADIES, this is a MOVEMENT and we are called to change the world by changing ourselves. I help God’s Leading Ladies walking in the reality of wholeness now, without the fear of yesterday’s limitations holding them back ever again. You in?! So I’m torn but leaning in. God made it evidence and confirmed multiple times my word for the year 2023. But then I read the book the “12 Week Year” and it rocked my world and how I now set goals, which I taught all about inside Leading Ladies this month including a goal-setting sheet like I’ve never before seen to help you plan and dream and execute from a place of love and PURPOSE and powerful, meaningful decisions instead of fear and past failure and self-hatred. (Oh how I wish I could condense that hour-long training into a 3-minute email!!) So in light of all that I now view my life in quarters instead of years, but I digress, back to my word of the year, or should I say quarter. I’ll reevaluate at the end of March ;) Right now it’s my guiding light. Do you have a word for 2023? Hit reply and let me know!

Mine is PRESENCE

What does that mean?

Being fully present. All in where I am and what I’m doing and who I’m with. Also, present to FEEL every single emotion that comes up without stuff or avoiding or dismissing. Constraining to focus on work when it's work time and rest when it's rest time and play when it's playtime and…getting the point here?

Did you know that most people feel “burn out” or struggle with anxiety because they are not in the PRESENT? They are thinking about what needs to get done, or what didn’t get done. How they wish they could change something from the past or worry about what is to come in the future. Neither of these scenarios is PRESENT. Once again sneaky sneaky satan wants you to focus on what you literally CANNOT change (your past) and worry about every negative possible outcome (in your future) so you will be so distracted and not fully PRESENT in the right now, today. THE ONLY THING YOU HAVE CONTROL OVER IS TODAY. The only way you can bring heaven to earth and partner with God is through the work he is calling you to is TODAY.

Do you know another sneaky sneaky time and energy sucker? Thinking about work when you are off and thinking about being off when you should be working. Or thinking about this notification and that text and this voice message and that email and this and that and this and that and this and that.

The skill and muscle I’ll need to develop to make PRESENCE possible in 2023 are very very important. Are you ready for it? Are you ready to hear HOW the only way presence is possible for me and for you if you choose? CONSTRAINT.

CONSTRAINING myself to FOCUS. Focus on the task or non-task at hand. Being FULLY present requires constraint to decide ahead of time to not let anything that is distracting you from being ALL IN and finishing what you set out to do in that specific time period. It will change everything! It will bring peace. You will get more done in less time. You will enjoy life more. You will have less anxiety and more enjoyment.

It’s a great place to start.

Interested in hearing AND implementing the teachings mentioned above? It will take some new ways of thinking and feeling that you may not be familiar with. But you have to ask yourself is what I am currently doing working? Am I where I truly want to be? Do I feel how I truly WANT to feel about my work and my life? Did you know when you join Leading Ladies you get access to that entire month’s training and coaching replays and the 6 months moving forward?! Don’t worry you didn’t miss a thing, see you on the inside. It’s time!

For most the first thing that comes to mind is money. Fear and or longing to do the “right” thing with their money. Which is wise, and one of my most favorite topics BUT might I propose stewardship as something much much deeper…

Stewardship just so happens to be one of the 6 CORE VALUES of Leading Ladies that lead to WHOLENESS.

Stewardship:

“She identifies her purpose and takes ownership and accountability of her partnership with the Holy Spirit and authority in Christ in her calling.”

Identifies her purpose.

Take ownership in her calling.

Accountable to her partnership with the Holy Spirit.

Authority in Christ in her calling.

Can you say with confidence you KNOW your purpose, take ownership in your calling and commit your highest level of CONTRIBUTION to this world? Are you aware of the magnitude and privilege of partnering with the Holy Spirit and are you walking in your AUTHORITY in the gifts and talents God has entrusted to you to multiply?

If not, there is no condemnation here but there is curiosity and a deep urgency to help truly STEWARD your life for a “well done good and faithful servant”. To not just steward your money but also your time AND talents WELL. I help God’s Leading Ladies walk in the reality of wholeness now without fear of yesterday’s limitations holding them back ever again. It helps bring heaven to earth through your life and business and it’s an HONOR to partner with you inside LEADING LADIES to help you do it.

I’ve never regretted hiring a coach to help me uncover and bring forth that which the enemy has tried to steal. “The thief comes only to steal, kill and destroy; I came that they may have life and have it more abundantly.” John 10:10.

Who's ready for life more ABUNDANT?!

Is this your longing?

She is called to multiply her impact personally and

professionally and leave a legacy that impacts eternity.

She is committed to the most important work of taking her thoughts

captive and is self-aware, curious, and compassionate about those

thoughts towards herself and others.

She identifies her purpose and takes ownership and accountability of

her partnership with the Holy Spirit and authority in Christ in her calling.

She has hope her future will be different from her past and believes in the

possibilities of change for the better. A renewed mind = a transformed life.

She is tender-hearted in her childlike faith towards God's loving kindness that

leads to repentance and is willing to learn a new thing.

She honors her time, boundaries and commitments to herself and others

through nourishing routines that feed her soul from a place of rest.

She prospers as she casts off old entanglements and runs freely in abundance

spiritually, emotionally, physically, and financially as she empowers others to do

the same.

WHOLENESS is a natural outpouring of who she is and how she leads.

So excited to have you listening today! We’re wrapping up our warfare series today and I’m introducing something amazing!

I want to make sure you know the 5 things we’ve covered on how to fight back, the literal word of God, name of Jesus, repentance, worship, and communion.
Let’s go over a little bit about communion. I grew up with communion being a part of the routine, sing a few songs, do communion and then you’re done. I’ve listened to an author talk about taking communion every day and how she used it in her life. It was really powerful to me. We take it as a family often. We even did it at our Friday bible study and we talked about how it is a reminder to Satan that he lost. And we’re all winners. You don’t have to wait to take communion, you can do it on your time!

In part 7 of Adam Young’s warfare series, he talks about the Screwtape Letters by C.S. Lewis and it talks about what Satan would be doing now to deceive. It’s a great listen and I highly recommend that you head over and check it out. Another one I recommend is Priscilla Shirer, Fervent. She gives very practical ways to strategically pray and fight against the enemy. I love how she lists ways that the enemy will specifically target you and your family and what it would look like. It’s incredibly powerful and her words are so strong. She is also the actress in the movie War Room which you NEED to watch. Even if you’ve watched it before, revisit it. The message is so strong and powerful.
I hope you’ll join the #MarriageInMay Facebook group. We’re having challenges, prizes and more. And if you’ve wanted to refocus on your marriage then this is the time!

https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/warfare-part-5-addressing-accusations/id1373926216?i=1000449100112

The first tactic in waging war is paying attention to what you are hearing and then determining the source of that voice.

The tone and the voice of the accusation matter. If you are feeling defeated, deflated, condemned, that is a voice from the enemy.

There is way more going on below the roots of accusations in lies that you have believed from when you were younger. And so whatever you're feeling now, it's not new.

It's time to fight back against these accusations and send the enemy away!

“So now the case is closed. There remains no accusing voice of condemnation against those who are joined in life-union with Jesus, the Anointed One.”

Today we're stepping into our authority. I'm telling a powerful story of my own of how an unexpected encounter made me stop in my tracks and really rethink the way I was using my own authority. There are four different areas where our power and authority can come from the crucifixion, the resurrection, the Ascension, and Jesus' work in the present time.

Just over a week ago now we got a Peloton bike. So grateful and excited! If you go to their website, there's a two to three month back order and I'm so thankful that my good friend was willing to sell hers so we got one quickly. There's this cool idea. Like I decided to think I talked to you guys about this briefly. I'll tell you real quick as a reminder. I'm working with my trainer twice a week and then by needing to get cardio in on my off days. And I just local spin class, loved it, sweated a bunch, felt like I was really doing some toning exercises and getting cardio in. Our good friends delivered it to us and Rob brought it in the house and put it right in the living room. The main floor of our house has the bedrooms and my office, kitchen, dining room. Like everything we use regularly on is on the first floor. Like we've got a row machine, an assault bike machine, a weight bench. Rob has worked hard to set up a nice workout space. But it could be a week or two before I even go down there.

So out of sight, out of mind, right? But he rolled that Peloton bike right out there in the middle of our living room where the TV is and their couches are and it’s open concept to our kitchen. The bike is right there in the middle of the living room and the kitchen, just right in the way of everything. It got me laughing the other day because I walked by it like I do, you know, 30 times a day. And I was like, Oh, I need to get on that Peloton bike. So I made the time to go to do that because I literally ran into it as I was walking across the room. And it reminded me that if, if we had put this downstairs I may not get on it as often or at all.

But it is a right in our space. But I kind of like it because when things are out of sight, they're out of mind. When I see it every day, I'm reminded, Hey, I can hop on here and do a quick 30-minute ride. Even if I worked out with my trainer today, I could hop on here real quick and do a ride since it's literally right here. It just made me think about the culture in the world right now, like out of sight, out of mind, I'm going to give you this little tip for you. The simplest things are the most profound. There are certain things in your life you need to put right in front of your face. And so you are reminded, repeat, repeat, repeat, repeat. So you see it every day. And there are certain things in your life you need to hide.

There's a lot of things I don't like about Facebook right now, but on Instagram, they give you an unfollow button. Are you aware of this? You all have to protect your energy, protect your sanity, and above all else, protect your peace. So let's think about really quickly, the things in our life that we need to put out of sight and the things that we need to put back into our sight, whether that's putting your workout equipment where you literally step on it every morning or let's talk about some more positives real quick. What are some things you need to put in sight all the time? Put that Bible out there on your kitchen counter, right by where you grab your drink, the coffee machine, put it out there, put it in sight where you can, you can catch that glimpse as your coffee is brewing.

Even though you're running late and you're getting the kids out the door it's right there. And you can look at it real quick. I told you guys before this, but I love to have scriptures and sayings and positive things all over my house. I did a whole episode a couple of weeks ago about how I printed out the picture of this girl, Chontal Duncan. who I do not know, but she is six-foot, one or two, taller than me and has muscles and the body that I'm trying to work towards. The body I always thought I couldn't have because I'm so tall. But since I see it, it's in my sight. I believe it more. I think about it more. I focus on it more and it inspires me more.

Let's talk about some negative things. Some things we could maybe get out of our sight. This is a super tangible example. Just being real candid with you guys, I've voted for Trump and someone, who doesn't know me, on social media called me a white supremacist. And I was just like, really? But then it got me thinking what's in their sight on repeat because, for me and my sight on repeat, I follow a lot of people of color who are conservative Republicans. I have a ton of proof that I'm not a white supremacist and who I voted for isn't So it was just like I have on repeat. I don't know what they're watching on repeat. But it seems like it is telling them a different story. I'm praying for you all and for myself, for wisdom and discernment and all things that there may be some things that we've always trusted to be truthful but it's not.

When I pay attention to some people that you really, really trust and respect and who have the same biblical worldview as you. There are a lot of people that may be famous or in Hollywood, or have a lot of influence or have a lot of followers. I'm not telling you to trust what they have to say. I'm asking you, who is somebody that you want to be like in all areas of life? Not just one area, because they're talented, I'm talking about in their homes, in their families, in their church and how they, not just proclaim God or Jesus, but they live that out as a disciple. I would pay attention to that.

I want you guys to have fresh eyes to see the things that you need to have more in your sight and fresh eyes. See some things that you need to have out of your sight and do make the effort to get them out of your sight!

Have you ever listened to a podcast where the host starts the podcast off by saying, I do not want to record this episode? I'm just going to keep it real. It is November 4th, 2020 the day after election day. I am exhausted as I‘m actually sure that I'm not the only one that feels this way. Usually, we're like, Oh, I bet nobody else is feeling the same way I'm feeling. No, I'm pretty positive. Almost all of y'all are feeling exhausted today. First of all, physically exhausted. Cause you probably stayed up later than you did for New Year’s Eve.

I just remember when I was a kid, watching TV on election night. And I remember seeing the red and the blue and you know when you're that little, you still don't even understand what's really going on or the significance behind it. But it was like the excitement of watching updates and finally seeing the winner. And I remember seeing the presidents give their speech and they all were inspirational and inspiring. There's just something special about the new leader of the world. We let our oldest stay up and watch the results last night which means the kids slept in and we were just late to school and after Rob came back laughing. He said there were so many people who are late to school drop-off. He said that’s cool there are so many people late because that means everyone was staying up watching the results.

I made a video on my first, all Facebook wall yesterday and just had the giggles because yesterday I wasn't this exhausted. I was just having a really good day. I had an impromptu lunch with a couple of friends for lunch who share the same political views as me. We just got to talk about things. That was just refreshing to not have to filter and talk candidly.

Yesterday I was blaring, God bless America and I'm Proud to Be an American. I blared it on the way to take my son to school. And I was singing it at the top of my lungs and he was laughing and I was laughing and it was just fun. It was a highlight moment.

I was avoiding today's podcast, I'm exhausted. I'm exhausted physically because I stayed up so late. I am exhausted emotionally, and I am exhausted spiritually. And I feel like I have been battling since the beginning of COVID lockdowns. I've never prayed more in this season of my life than I have in my entire life. And I guess, I wasn't worried about the election. I just thought it would be over. But it's not yet. I mean, technically whatever your interpretation of it is, but I'm exhausted.

My sweet, sweet assistant who keeps me in line in this season, when life has been so not organized by the books, just asked are you going to record that podcast? But I almost just said play an old episode. But then I came upstairs and I was praying and listening to the Lord and I just don't feel like I can just pass on this one because as I teach you, leaders are not avoiders, and I want to avoid doing a new episode today. But I'm not going to do it because God has given me an influence. God has called you to this influence. I’m just going to be real about the tension where I'm struggling with because I never want to say the wrong thing. But my tension right now is between, and I want to know if you guys can relate, is that like half of me wants to fight for what's right. And operate in my authority in Christ and what I pray for. I want to educate people and I want, what's true to come to light and that's my like, fight inside. And then my other side is like, God is in control, Jesus. We just need to rest. I voted. There's literally nothing else that I can do but pray. And so I just need to shut up and pray and only shut up and pray. And so there are these two things, right? And then I was reminded that Satan is the God of confusion and Satan loves confusion because if he can confuse people that will cause division. That will cause people to be too vocal or too quiet. And so just as a red flag for you to check yourself as I'm checking myself if you're feeling confused, that is a red flag to pause. It's like this warning sign to rest and go ask the Lord what he is saying about this. Not what your best friend is saying about this. Not what your mom is saying about this. Not what the news is saying about this.

I just wanted to be honest about that because I thought, well, maybe there are some other people out there feeling the same way. But here's what I think is very, very important. Whether you naturally go to silence and solitude and prayer and fighting on your knees or you naturally go to speaking out and fighting for what's right. We usually have one that we're more natural tendency towards. I think the most important thing is, is you need both. I need both. We need both. So whichever one you're not operating in right now, or is not your natural tendency, I'm here to tell you it's not okay for you to just not do the other one. I feel as though there is a time and place for both.

I just want to empower you. I'm saying God can change things. God can change things in a second. I wish we could take a break from contending and praying for our country and our future, whatever side you're on. I thought we could take a break after last night, but this was a great reminder is that it's never over contending for the truth, contending for light contending, for what is good praying your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. It's never done.

Today is the day to rest. It's the day to surrender, to trust that God's plan is sovereign, and to be on our knees more than ever contending for the truth. And that is the one thing everybody can agree on is that the truth is made known, every vote that was cast to truthfully and rightfully and honestly be counted. That is all we can do today. So just a reminder, the tension is real, but confusion doesn't have to be real, but the tension is real between the fighting and walking in your authority and helping control a situation or fighting for what's right and true. And then also, resting and surrendering and trusting. We need a happy medium. My prayers have been this whole entire year. Ever since I saw the great division at the super bowl halftime show. Since that moment, my spirit has been like pray for wholeness because I like to pray the opposite of what I don't want to see because what I was seeing in that day was division, division, division, division. And so I'm not going to word and say things, I'm going to pray against division instead. I'm going to pray what I want to see. And so that's it, that might be a word for somebody instead of praying what your mind focuses on. It's just that simple thing. So instead of saying, I'm praying against division, I'm praying for wholeness. And just like in my COVID positive test episode, I am praying that this world is unmasked. I'm praying for healing for our country. I am praying for the truth as we all seek wisdom and discernment and I’m so proud of you guys!

A lie that I believed for almost all my life is tall people can't have muscles. I am six feet tall. Through childhood and even college, I was extremely thin, like really, really, really, really skinny could not even gain weight. Even if I tried, I ate all of the sugar, all the fattening things and it didn’t work.

Almost a year ago, I came across this gal, her name's Chontal Duncan. I don't know her, but she was on an ad on Facebook as I was scrolling. And I stopped because I was like, Whoa, she's tall. And whoa, she’s got some muscle. So I stopped, I saved the picture on my phone. Like I took a screenshot. I went and looked her up, found her, and was taking and saving a bunch of pictures of proof that it’s possible. I didn't know it was possible before seeing her. And she has done it. As you know, I hired a trainer about six or seven weeks ago, we're coming up to the end of it. We're about to take our progress pictures, measurements, weights for six weeks. Last night I just reflected, should I stay with the trainer? Should I take a break? Should I do some other things? All of these things are going through my head. But what it really came down to is that I have seen progress, but I'm obviously not like Chontal yet, but I'm really proud of myself and I was like, Jessica, you have got to keep going. You've only been doing this for six weeks. Imagine where you will be in a year if you stick to it for the long haul. And so I printed out the pictures of her finally, like I actually legitimately printed them out. I've got one sitting right here in front of me. And I taped one in my walk-in closet so I can see it every day.

There's something about seeing what you want every single day, like seeing the end result of what you're working towards. And I've got multiple examples of those. In this one particular picture of her, she is holding balloons that say 36. So she’s 36 and in great shape. I’ve been saying for a couple of years I would be the fittest I’ve ever been at 38. It was something I wrote almost every day. I am the fittest I've ever been, at age 38. I am the fittest I've ever been at age 38. And I wrote that so many times I saw it almost daily, me writing that I am the fittest I'm going to be at age 38. And then 2020 hits. And I had all these big goals, aspirations, and daily high fives at the beginning of this year, then Rona hit and life changed and I was not consistent. I've been honest about that. Just a couple of months ago, I remembered Jessica, your 38th birthday is coming up and you told yourself that you'd be the fittest you've ever been at age 38.

Then I made some choices. I started to work out with a trainer. I was on the offense about what I wanted to see my life as. When I look at this picture of her with the 36, I'm past 36, and I'm almost very close to 38. And so I'm, I'm not where I want to be, but I look at that and I think, well, you know what? I would not be where I am today. If I hadn't decided years ago that I'm going to be the fittest, I'm going to be at 38. So it's why it's when you make those decisions on repeat, y'all have heard me talk about this a lot. Repeat, repeat, repeat, and you have to repeat what you want in life. You have to see it. For example, I legitimately printed these pictures out of Chontal and it's been so inspiring for me.

I just wanted to remind you guys about progress. The first couple of weeks, when I started working with this trainer, we have a full-length mirror in our bathroom. I was talking to Rob and asked, can I cover this mirror for a month or for a couple of months? It’s so hard not to immediately look for progress, but that’s not how it works! It’s not immediate. You have to put the effort in for the long run!

I want to encourage you guys to spend some time imagining and visualizing the world that you want to see. Visualizing the best possible outcome. Spend some time thinking about that. Spend some time believing that that is possible. Ask the Lord what part you can play in creating that world that you see in the future.

Another thing I wanted to tell you guys is the offense. This week I've just been kind of blah, it's been rainy. We were supposed to do family pictures and it's been really rainy and really cold all of a sudden. And I’m just feeling over it. I've noticed that I've been a little bit blah. I literally did not feel good. So on Monday, I took a nap, and then since I had decided it would be my last couple of days with the trainer I would make the most of it. I did not feel good, but I got up and I went downstairs and I did my assault bike for 30 minutes and it was hard and I sweated more than I usually do. I think it was just working on something, working through something, but man, it felt good.

So yesterday again, the rainy mood. And I think it's just the culture and the climate of the world right now. That's really getting to me. I was even texting some friends and being a little bit negative and I was like, why am I being so, blah, then I'd said, Jessica, put on worship music. It's been a couple of days since you had fought against whatever this block is and been on the offense about the world you want to see.

How can you be offensive this week? Do you need to make that post and send that message for your business? What does being on the offense look like for you this week? Whatever you're working towards, whether that's working towards a car or a certain body type or the future you want to see for America, or maybe you need a miracle. I want you guys to all to go find proof that that is possible. If you need a miracle, I want you to find an example of a miracle in the Bible, or you find an example of someone in life who has lived out a literal miracle.

Repeat that every day. When I was first working my business, I was super nervous, but I really believe this was an answer to our prayer in the future. I printed out a picture of the Lexus I was going to get when I hit that rank in the company. I printed out a small one and I taped it inside of my Toyota four runner and a bigger one, and I taped it on the fridge. I had to see it every day. Just like I'm looking at this Chontal girl and I got to see it every day. When I don't want to do it, you look at the picture and when life gets hard that day, you look at the picture and you remember you put that picture up because you believe that it is possible for you.

Even though that may seem impossible for somebody else, somebody else may think you're crazy. You have to visualize it. So find proof of the good. Find proof of what you want to see. Remind yourself that it's possible. Repeat, repeat, repeat, repeat, repeat. There is literally something that happens to your brain. Visualize, believe, pray, do your part. This is one day at a time, a daily activity. That's going to get you to where you want to go. It's the small choices that add up to the big results. So y'all this week, show me the pictures. What are you looking at? What's your inspiration? I want you to tag me on social media! I'm proud of you guys and I'm excited about the progress. I'm excited for you guys being on offense, especially in the next couple of weeks. Turn that worship music on and point your heart in the direction. Fight for good!

Last week I had the opportunity to go to dinner with several friends and other jewels in the Central Arkansas area. We went to my favorite restaurant and it was so great to get to visit! The conversation turned to what we did before our current occupation in network marketing. One of my friends Kim was saying that she still works some for hospice because she was a nurse before and even though she doesn’t need that income anymore she loves nursing and it’s important to her to be involved still. Another friend Sunnie, talked about how she used to be a social worker, and now she still teaches it because she loves working in that profession. And Carissa spoke about how she always food blogged and how much she loves sharing nutrition and keto information. It made me so happy to hear about that no matter what level of success is reached that they didn’t forget where they came from and what they really, really enjoyed doing.

My husband was out of town for a week, and I felt SO busy most of the time. But on Saturday I didn’t have any plans, and I found myself planning a whole vacation! I LOVE traveling and planning trips and exploring new places. And that’s something I’m really passionate about!

When I was thinking about what I was going to record the podcast this week it dawned on me that we should be exploring and still using these gifts that we love!

When Rob and I were newlyweds we didn’t really know each other travel style. On vacations, I’m a go go go, person. I want to see all the things! And Rob is so much more relaxed. Back in the day, we didn’t have a huge income but I did travel a lot for my job and was able to use the points to travel on our own. Back then, I planned vacations as we may never go back again. We went to the North East US and listen to everything we packed into our trip… in one week. We flew into Baltimore, then went to DC, then NYC, went to Boston, and went to a Patriots game, Connecticut, New Hampshire, and Maine. And we hit ALLL the spots. I would research everything obsessively. I had a folder with all of our flights, tickets, reservations etc.
When we had dinner it reminded me how life-giving it is for me to plan vacations. My next dream trip is Iceland! I’ve got so many ideas and plans for when we can travel there!

I know that so many of you are entrepreneurs and you are working so hard!! And I am SO proud of you! I”m a proponent of working hard, but also PLAYING HARD! Don’t lose your first love!! If you’ve lost connection with the things that light you up, take a step back and be intentional about bringing those things back into your life!

Today's I'm sharing my family's personal story with a positive Covid test. Now, this is not everyone's experience, this is ours. I share it to spread hope and respect. I understand that everyone experiences are different and I can only speak on what happened with our family.
The audio comes from a Facebook live video that I shared on my personal page and wanted to share here on the podcast too.

I hope that you'll tune in and listen!

My hope is that you'll take away these points from our story.

“Your kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven”. We can all agree that ultimately He wants us 1. Unmasked 2. Healing and Hope from real virus’/sickness/evil 3. Truth (wisdom and discernment Proverbs 3)   “My child, never drift off course from these two goals for your life: to walk in wisdom and to discover discernment. Don’t ever forget how they empower you. For they strengthen you inside and out and inspire you to do what’s right; you will be energized and refreshed by the healing they bring.” ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭3:21-22‬ ‭TPT‬‬

My kids are on fall break and we’ve been home relaxing. I remembered Pippi Longstockings and thought I could share it with the kids. Even the intro music was so nostalgic for me! Everything came back to me as I was watching it. Before pressing play all I could remember is that she had red pigtails. As we watched more and more, the movie became familiar. It’s been close to 30 years since I’ve seen it. So I must have watched it so many times as a kid to remember it all! This has got me thinking about what happens to our brains when we repeat, repeat, repeat!

We remember songs and movies because we’ve seen or heard them so many times. I know you are leaders and we’ve got to focus on repeating His word so that we will remember it!

In the Bible, there are 365 verses that have to do with fear. And I don’t think that’s a coincidence! One of my favorite podcasts is Adam Young’s The Place We Find Ourselves.

If you’ve been telling yourself your entire life that you’re scared or not good enough then it’s not going to solve the problem to read a verse one time and be healed. It takes repetition! I have really been on a “Rattled” kick. Listening to it all the time. Then I find my kids singing it. And I’m singing it. And it’s deep in my heart!

When you go through a whole souls session, you leave with 5 pages of scriptures that you’re supposed to read aloud every day. It goes back to if you believe what the word of God says is the absolute truth. The book Exposing the Spiritual Roots of Disease: Powerful Answers to Your Questions About Healing and Disease Prevention by Henry W. Wright is teaching me that so much can keep us from God’s truth and even cause health issues from our insecurities, fears, pride, anger, or fear.

This is why songs, movies, and stories are so brilliant. They tap into the creative side of your mind and help you remember! In the past, I would read a verse and it wouldn’t stick but putting it to music can help you retain it. If you haven’t watched The Chosen, I HIGHLY recommend it. It gives a great visual to the Gospel. Ask Alexa to play worship music, Hillsong, Bethel or Elevation. Look for ways to repeat, repeat, repeat!!!

What do you have on repeat?

So fall is upon us and winter is rapidly approaching. And we need you healthy! You guys are the ones making a difference and adding value to this world and so we NEED you healthy!

Physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually healthy!! Since I work for a health and wellness company, I wanted to go over some ways to keep you at your best! But I will never tell you that just supplements are all you need to keep you healthy! I’m going to go over three main components to boosting your health.

The first component is your physical health. This is your immunity and defense system! It’s time to pay attention to the food you’re putting in your body, the amount and frequency of your exercise, your supplements, and your clean source of water. There are a lot of things that our culture has taught us about our physical health that I really encourage you to explore and research on your own. Let’s research what is actually in your food and water. Blood sugar balance, inflammation, and gut health are things you need to be paying attention to! Google your health ailment and any of these things and see what the correlations are! If this is an area you’re needing some help in please let me know so I can help! I’ll let you do your own research and how many ailments are linked to these things, but I’m so thankful to be in a company that helps people with these root causes!

The second area of health we’re going to talk about is emotional and mental health. This is such an important part of your overall health! Some ways I’ve worked on my own health in this space are therapy, hiring a life coach, having a mentor, and finding and reading about boundaries to help me gain awareness of why I’m avoiding and why I’m fearing. Another part of this is learning to be still. Meditating on scripture or being mentally still is so important. Your homework on this part is to take a bubble bath without your phone and enjoy that time just being still. Focus on your breathing and clearing away the tension. Let your body relax and let the guilt go and work on prioritizing stillness as part of your health. It’s time to put more focus on this area and realize how much it’s impacting your overall health.

The last component we’re going to go over today is your spiritual health. Your relationship with God is a personal one on one relationship. I believe in having a community in Christ but your relationship needs to be a daily, personal relationship. He wants to talk and spend time with just you! You have to let the living breathing word of God speak to you! Your relationship with Him affects your overall health!

As you’re approaching this new season, I want you to look at these areas of your health and make sure you’re doing all you can to keep yourself in the best shape possible. We need you healthy to teach and show others how to get healthy too! Show the world what you’re doing to get yourself healthy!! You’re a bigger leader than you think you are and I want you to lead by example.

Have you ever thought that you’re not making a big enough difference? Maybe it feels like you don’t have enough followers or friends on Facebook to really get people to hear you?

I’m going to tell you right now that’s a lie! Check out “You Are the Girl for the Job” by Jess Connelly. If you’re running a business and using social media you might have felt that you needed to keep gaining more and more followers, instead of focusing on your current followers and nurturing your community.

Here are three ways to look at the influence you already have. Serve them, guide them, and love them! Think about your content and how it can serve them or improve their day to day lives. You need to think about how you can love them and make them feel seen and taken care of. And you need to focus on how you can guide them. They look to you for advice and direction! Even if you feel like you’re not an expert, you can still share your story and your truth! Someone else will always know more about a topic than you will. And that’s ok!!

Don’t be more obsessed with gaining more, let’s focus on who is already following you and those that God has already placed in your path!

One of my goals for the year was to work on my arms and leg muscles so I did something very scary and hired a trainer! Not just any trainer, but a bodybuilder who is very muscular. Now I’m not planning on doing any bodybuilding competitions but I figured it would be best to learn from someone super experienced in that area. I had my first session yesterday and she’s giving me all the things I need to get started like meal plans and measurements.

Now, this is where I’m going to get embarrassed but that’s the point of this episode… I was rushing around to get to my first session on Tuesday morning. I know that I’m going to work with her for 45 minutes but other than that I wasn’t really sure what to expect. We start off with an exercise band and she shows me what she wants me to do, walking sideways and doing squats. It was SO hard! That band was deceiving and I tried to keep my cool and play it off since it was a warm-up exercise. Then we move to the weight machine and she’s watching me try these exercises. This is uncomfortable for me because I’m not big into people watching when I’m not confident in what I’m doing. But that’s her job to watch and encourage me and make sure I’m doing it correctly. It came time to do lunges down and back and at this point, I’m about to throw up. I’m desperately trying to keep it together but it’s tough. I have to sit down and focus try to catch my breath. I stand back up and go talk to her and finally admit I’m feeling a little dizzy. I told her I was embarrassed because I feel like such a pansy. She explained that it’s part of the process when you first start training.

When I go through the exercises again, she reminded me to do my breathing exercises correctly and I felt much better. But today, I can barely move and walk. All that to say, I felt embarrassed. I wasn’t good at it but embarrassment is a part of life. Way too many people don’t take the next step in what they want to achieve because they’re worried they’re going to be bad at it. Embarrassment is a rite of passage! If you feel embarrassed, keep going, you are doing amazing! I’m so proud of you and you should pat yourself on the back! Look for opportunities, to possibly embarrass yourself, because that’s where the growth comes in! You’re never great when you first start something, but you’re leaps and bounds ahead of the people that are napping on the couch! Last week’s episode covered live videos and why you should do them. In my Instagram stories, I asked if you’re not doing them what’s the reason for avoiding them. And I heard loud and clear that FEAR was the main cause. We can’t let fear or perfectionist tendencies let us stop us from taking the next step in your life! Fear and worries of not being good enough are from the enemy. Replace those ideas with the truth, you’re here for a reason!! I am proud of you and I want you to put yourself out there. Embarrassment is a rite of passage! Come share your embarrassing moments with me on Instagram so we can laugh together!

Today we’re getting into some social media strategy! We know how important social media is to your business and brand, but it can seem so overwhelming! Let’s break it down to a few things that will increase engagement and show you’re relatable to your audience.

Live videos are SO important in building a relationship with your community and let me tell you why. It’s not just to get more views, increasing engagement helps to more people be touched by your light and gain help from you! Lives are so crucial because they help people get to know the real you. It’s a lot harder to fake anything when a live video is rolling and there’s no careful editing to it. If you’re a newbie to lives these tips will make you more comfortable and confident, and if you’ve been doing them for awhile this is a great refresher!

You want to make sure you’re relating to your audience!

When you’re posting on social media or planning your lives don’t forget your 3 e’s.

Educate

Empower

Entertain

These are three categories of things you can talk about. With education, you can teach your audience something, a scripture, info about ingredients, etc. Anything you enjoy learning about others will probably enjoy it too! People love to be encouraged, so do this by doing a post or video to empower them. And entertaining is simply sharing what makes you happy and laugh!

And here are three A’s to your make your videos awesome-

Ask Questions

Acknowledge Your Audience

Always Smile

When you ask questions it involves the audience and makes them feel involved in the video. The people that are on when you’re live should be acknowledged. And smiling is important because when you’re nervous and concentrating it’s easy to forget to smile and look welcoming. Don’t forget to check your lighting and get in natural light like a window or just a simple ring light. If you’re in the dark it will be fuzzy and hard to see.

I challenge everyone to do 2 live videos this week! It doesn’t have to be super formal just go for it!

This week we’re looking at the questions you need to be asking and the questions you need to ask yourself…

Recently at a team training, I had someone ask “what’s the one thing I need to do for my business?” And I get this question a lot. Even at my large company convention, this is a question I get asked, in the hallway, in the elevator, after speeches... What I really want to do is sit down, look them in the eye and say “what do YOU think you need to be doing for your business?” How often are we just seeking someone else to tell us the next step? It never really works for someone else to give you the answer.

You have to explore your own mind! A few years ago, I attended a John Maxwell training event. During the coaching training session, they had bags set out with balls in them. The activity was to get a partner and one person would juggle the balls and the others would coach them. It baffled me at first! When I first started my business, when people came to me for advice I would just tell them what to do. Oh, how I do things differently now! On the juggling exercise, I just kept thinking… I don’t know how to juggle, how can I tell someone else how to?! During the exercise, they taught us that you don’t even have to know how to juggle to coach someone else. You just have to ask the right questions! I could have been saying things like “what isn’t working?”, “what’s something you can try next?” or “what part of it is working?”

In order for you to coach someone to do something you don’t have to be an expert, you just have to ask the right questions! The heart of the coaching process is self-discovery, awareness, and choice. As a coach, when you ask them the right questions it helps them to self discover and lets them become aware of the choice they have to make next. If you’re just telling them what to do they’re not going to own their choice.

Two weeks ago, I was driving to Bible Study where we’re studying Jennie Allen’s book “Get Out of Your Head” (IT IS SO GOOD!) I was thinking back to the question I was asked at the team training, “what’s the one thing I need to do for my business?” and thinking that it would make a good podcast topic and BOOM! It popped into my head that Jesus asked good questions. I was thinking about it and he really did that a lot. He always seemed to answer a question with a question. He was trying to bring about awareness and invoke self-discovery. Ultimately it goes back to “good leaders ask good questions”. I literally googled “questions that Jesus asked” and there are tons of them!

Here are a few examples…

“What are you looking for?”“Who are you looking for?”“What do you want me to do for you?”

“Who do you say I am?”“Do you want to get well?”

“Who touched me?”

“What do you want me to do for you?”

“Do you believe I can do this?”

“Why do you call me Lord, but not do what I say?”

He brings the questions back to them! One of my favorite questions on that list is “do you want to get well?” I coach a lot of people that are sick physically or that have major mental blocks. But I’ve run across people that I don’t think to want to get well. I don’t think anyone can get unstuck unless they want to. They’ve got to be willing to dig in and do the work!!

You can ask someone “what are you avoiding, resisting, or procrastinating?” and if they’re willing to put in the work they can really get unstuck! Once you know about this concept, you’ll be finding yourself asking a lot of questions. To your spouse, kids, coworkers, or teammates, there are so many opportunities for growth building questions. If you give them the questions they will self explore and see what they need to do to make the change!

I’ve got a storytime for you today… My husband Rob was out of town, and I had already put the kids to bed. I decided to tackle some big Rubbermaid tubs that I haven’t touched in years and years. There were so many memories! My girl scout vest, so many printed pictures, and letters, and report cards. I came across a picture and it stopped me in my tracks. It made me start uncontrollably crying. I’m not much of a crier, but man this hit me hard. I texted a picture to Rob, and asked him “why did no one ask me to prom and why am I bawling about it now?” He said, “Oh sweetie, I’m so sorry, I bet you never grieved it.” So let me tell you about the picture… It was skinny me, tall and lanky, and I’m in this blue dress and I look really pretty! I look at all these details my hair, my makeup, my corsage… and I just start crying. I was on student council my Junior year of high school and that was the club that put on the prom at my school. So in my head I’m debating, well I feel like I should go, but no one has asked me, so I had a few friends that didn’t get asked either so we decided to make a big, fun night of it. But there are a lot of painful memories that still come with this event. Oftentimes people aren’t purposely causing you pain, but it still happens.

I encourage you to think of a memory of your own. And I know I’m not a therapist and can’t provide healing, but working through these issues with God and a good therapist is highly recommended. But I also know that avoiding a painful memory isn’t going to help heal either. When I look at this picture I remember so many details. My friend and I went to the mall and I found my dream dress. Every time we went to the mall, I would go and try it on and dream about wearing it. I eventually even put it on hold. When I talked to my mom about it she said: “We really don’t want to spend that much money on a dress if you don’t have a date.” To this day that still wrecks me. I know my mom didn’t mean any harm, but at that age, it spoke volumes to me. I remember feeling that I wasn’t valuable, wasn’t worth it, that I wasn’t beautiful, and I felt like a loser. I remember feeling that then and I still feel some of that today. I have more tools today to handle it and see the patterns and negative thoughts.

When I look at that picture, I also remember going to the mall and getting my makeup done by myself and paying for it with my own money. When I look at that picture I see the corsage that I bought and ordered with my own money and think about how I wish my dad had gotten it for me. I can’t change the past but I still sat in my house and cried and cried. When I usually feel myself start to cry I push it back down and don’t let it come out. But in that moment, I went back to that time in my life and experienced that pain and hurt. It was just to feel that it sucked and I wish things had gone differently. But after I had a deep cry about it, I felt a peace come over me. I can look at this picture now and I don’t feel the sadness and grief I did when I found it for the first time.

When I look at this picture now I pour into that 17-year-old Jessica what I think she needed to hear. I tell her she’s worth it, that she is beautiful, you are good enough. And I let myself love that girl at 17 that didn’t love herself. I also think about what I wish someone would have said or done that she needed. And it makes me think about how I treat people and provide people with what they need. Especially my daughter… I want her to always feel beautiful and special and worth it! This is something that we need to be talking about with our kids and make sure they have the feeling that they are enough!

While I was still looking through the Rubbermaid tub, I found two other pictures that I pulled out. I have a second-grade picture of me and a middle school picture of me. And I keep the second-grade picture up to remind me of my kids. My son is in second grade this year and I want to make sure I’m pouring into him the love that he needs. He is so much like me. I can sense that he has a strong inner critic and it just breaks my heart. Last night we were getting to bed really late. I had told them at least five times to pick up their toys and get their folders ready for school. So I just yelled “PICK UP THE TOYS” and his natural reaction was to storm off to his room. He yelled behind him “you always make me feel like a failure!”. Of course, I internally gasped. People want to feel seen and heard. That’s all 17-year-old Jessica wanted. Even 37-year-old Jessica wants to be seen and heard and loved. After he yelled, I kept thinking that I don’t do that! But I went in there and sat down and asked him curious questions. I really think that when I raised my voice that it made him feel like a failure, but he was really upset that he didn’t follow through with what he was supposed to do. We ended the conversation with me apologizing for raising my voice and him apologizing for not cleaning up when he was first asked. At that moment, a connection was made. It wasn’t about whether you're right or wrong. It was about making him feel seen, heard, and loved. We didn’t let each other off the hook but we made a connection and made each other feel seen at that moment.

I’m going to be praying for you this week as you go and let your younger self feel seen and heard! I want you to go back to that younger self this week and do the hard and fruitful work in your present and let those wounds heal! You will feel freedom and confidence! I’m so proud of what God is going to do with this healing!

What we do and why we do it are shaped by the voices we listen to. And that’s what we’re getting into today!

I moved a few months ago, we’re transitioning to a new town and home, the kids just started at their new school, it’s been a season of realignment for us. I feel like I’ve really been in a season of perfectionism and confusion and distraction. All of us are probably going in and out of these feelings too. I was feeling nervous about leading you guys in the wrong direction or not having the right words to say on the podcast. But the last few weeks God has really drawn me in deeper.

It says at the end of James chapter one “to refuse to be corrupted by the world’s values.” and that verse has really been on my heart. That really led me back to so much to one on one time with God. As leaders, we’ve got to drawback to the heart of God and his voice has to be the loudest. What we do and why we do it are shaped by the voices we listen to!

I’m not here to “should all over you”! I’m not going to sit back and tell you a million things you should do. I’m here to invite you to more peace, more purpose, more clarity, and more hope. Those are going to come from more time with God. First of all, who wants those things?! I hope your hand is up! Those things are going to come from more personal time with God! That’s where the change is going to happen! We will do and act differently if we let His voice speak the loudest.

Here are some practical ways to put this into your life. One thing that could give you more time is to stop scrolling social media after putting your kids to bed, or after laying down. Give yourself a 15-minute block to post or message and then get off of there! Get out the Word and let it soak in. Put on some worship music and really listen. Even get out your journal and write down what is making an impact on you right now.

Another thing you can do is not get on social media in the morning until you’ve already spent time in the word. Set your morning off right with personal time with God instead of scrolling through Facebook. You can also schedule it in on your free time when your kids are at school, grandma’s house, wherever! Put it on your calendar and protect it! This may feel a little awkward if you haven’t done it in a while but it is SO worth it! You can also have a full rest day with your family, a Sabbath. Maybe you don’t do any tv or video games, or maybe you just make it a no social media day. But schedule in that family time with Him. And you guys know I do love social media and it has a place and you can use it for good and for business and God. But it can be a major distraction and we all need a break! Another thing you can do is to play worship music during the day. Alexa can take care of that for you and have it playing around the house. One thing that can bring Him into your day is scripture. Pick a verse with your family and use it as a weekly scripture. Read it, write it, and recite it. Have a conversation about it! Highlight and underline what is speaking to you right now. Repeat and let it be a part of you!

I did some enneagram coaching with a coach and as an enneagram 1, I struggle with a negative inner critic. And for one exercise she had me do is to draw my inner critic. It was so fascinating! To tap into my creative side and really dig into my inner critic, was such a powerful lesson to me. I want you to try it out and put an image to what your inner critic might look like.

In this season, attending church once a week online just isn’t enough time with Him. If you long for more peace, profits, purpose… then take the time and energy and put in the time with Him! Draw near to God and he will draw near to you! Set that intention and do it more than once. We have to be plugged into that source now more than ever. What we do and why we do it are shaped by the voices we listen to! And His voice is the sweetest to listen to!!

Ok, so big question today… Is social media toxic? After the last couple of months, it’s easy to nod seriously and think that it is. Well, today we’re going to talk about how it actually isn’t and how you can find the good in it!

I know it feels like everyone is on edge on social media, but really that’s not the problem. The real problem is that satan will use any and every seed to cause division, and hate. Let’s be offensive and learn that Satan is looking for ways to cause anger. The list of personal things going on adds to my plate and puts me on edge. Not the people on social media. As a leader, we can’t just throw in the towel on social media in general. We have to rise up and become part of the solution. And we have to give people grace. We have no idea what is going on in their lives, and it’s not our job to judge what they are and aren’t posting in these times.

Here are a few things you can do to remind yourself that social media ISN’T toxic.

  1. You have the power to shift atmospheres for good. You have the ability to change how your followers feel when they see your content and you can be an agent for unity and love! Take away the judgment. You being a light for social media means that you can’t let constant judgment cloud you.
  2. Evaluate why things trigger you and look for the real reason you’re experiencing a strong emotion. If you’re feeling set off by something take a pause and see where the feeling is coming from in your heart. If you have strong feelings on social media and act in them, it can cause major regret. So pausing will be a major benefit.
  3. Set boundaries and limits. Don’t wash your hands of social media, but DO give yourself strong boundaries and space from it. Don’t sit and scroll first thing in the morning and last thing at night. If you’re already cranky and not feeling like pouring in the good to social media then just don’t get on.

Do what’s lifegiving for YOU! Find the things that really light you up, and focus on them. You’ll find yourself in a much better headspace. Don’t hesitate to take your feelings straight to God. That’s a resource we forget to tap but He is the only one that can help clear our judgment and provide light!

We are going to come back stronger, braver, and be a light to people on social media! Give people grace upon grace and use your voice to be the GOOD in the world!

I’m SO glad you’re joining me on this journey of finding your self-worth. Your support means everything to me! Please subscribe, rate and review the podcast to help us grow this message and serve more people!

Have you ever caught yourself saying or thinking “I just don’t have time for that?!”
I’ve caught myself feeling those feelings of busy, time deficient, and stressed lately. But I had to stop and remind myself I’m creating that idea!
You live into the story you tell yourself! If you are saying that “I don’t have enough time to do that!” then you’re going to get to keep that thought. And you have a choice in how you feel!
I feel like God gives us those stressed and busy feelings it’s an invitation to spend my time with Him!

I feel like rest equals trust and you have to give up control to rest. Rest shouldn’t be our last resort. A lot of the time when we finally rest it’s because we’ve hit a wall and we feel like we can’t do one more thing, answer one more message or complete one more task. Rest can be your power source for how you live your life. Rest started at sundown in Jesus’ day. I found that so interesting that in that culture, rest was such an important part of their lives.

What I did to flip my script, is to pause and remind myself “everything you do is intentional”. I take a few moments to write down the MOST important things that I need to get done. We spend a lot of time busying ourselves with things that don’t even matter to us… That doesn’t make a lot of sense! If you’re struggling to narrow down the REALLY important things in your life go back to episodes 10 and 11 to help you zero in on your priorities.

If you’re like me and have something big to tackle (like moving into a new house!) and it feels incredibly overwhelming, take it one thing at a time. Breaking it down into small to-dos will help your productivity and feelings of stress and overwhelm. Don’t forget to prioritize your business. You can have peace in your home, heart, with your family and your business! You have to invest your time where you want to see growth! I’m still figuring it all out too. After my episode on loving yourself, I got to really thinking about how I was investing in myself and realized I haven’t been in the gym and I’m definitely not making it any closer to my goals. I felt BETTER than before after spending time on myself even though I felt busy and overwhelmed. Because I want to be healthy for me, and I need to make that a priority. I also felt good about accomplishing something I set out to do and was able to check it off my list.

Look at those stress indicators as an invitation to slow down and rest, spend time with God, reprioritize, and take action. What you do with your life is YOUR choice! Let’s look at rest as being on the offense. It might be time to say no to some things too. It may be time to get off that committee or hire help where needed. You can have peace in your heart and money in your bank if you live with intention. And I’m THRILLED for you because it’s such an enjoyable way to live life.

Do you love yourself? I want you to REALLY think about this! Like REALLY, REALLY think about it. Pause, give yourself time to turn this question over in your head, and see what feelings come up.
Sometimes we refuse to put any effort into creating a good life for ourselves because we don’t feel like we deserve it. We’re going there, friends! Do you feel like you deserve good things? Remember that you live into the story that you tell yourself, and if you tell yourself you don’t deserve all the goodness, you’re not going to get it!

I’ve heard over and over again from the people I coach that they haven’t given themselves permission to succeed. But I want to give you permission to succeed because you are amazing and you are worth it! Next time you pass a mirror, I want you to stop and look and say “I love you and I’m proud of you!”. And I want you to do that every single time you pass a mirror.

The person you need to forgive the most in your life is yourself! We’re so hard on ourselves for past mistakes, things we’ve said or done, or things that can’t be changed. What if it was your child saying they’re stupid, or that they don’t belong. Would you agree with those thoughts? Are you going to sit there and affirm their negative ideas? Heck no! You’re going to call their BS and speak love and success into them. That’s what you want and see for your children!

But is that what you want to see for yourself? Forgiving yourself and loving yourself is one of the most powerful things you can do! We talk about the bible verse “love your neighbor as yourself” and we skip over that “love yourself” part. You can’t pour from an empty cup and you can’t serve and love others if you don’t give yourself the same love.

Three things you really need to do to love yourself and give yourself permission to succeed include-

Forgive yourself of your past mistakes

Appreciate your present

Step into your best future

The best is yet to come! Because you love yourself and you’re proud of yourself you can speak life into others and make an impact!

Today I want to tell you guys about one of my favorite memories with my teammates.

I’m always looking for ways to push my leaders to the next level. So a couple of years ago, I took some of my top-level leaders to the Catalyst conference in California. It was actually a leadership conference for church leaders, but I believe what we do can mimic pastoral work!

We also went and took trapeze lessons! I was so excited! What a fun way to push ourselves and try something scary!

This was LEGIT trapeze on Santa Monica Pier right on the ocean! You have to go through a safety course and everything! The first few times you climb up there and a trapeze artist throws you the swing and you have to catch the bar swing and go! Then they teach you how to drop properly. Then you get to do it again and you can wrap your legs around the bar and hang down and swing! The third time through you swing on your bar and the other trapeze artist grabs your legs and YOU LET GO!!! Whoa! I loved it! I love doing new and exciting things, but I also LOVE watching my friends and leaders do new and scary things! They had new confidence after that carried into their business and lives!

Anytime you push yourself to do something hard, you GROW! We hear the phrase “comfort zone” all the time. And it’s lost its meaning after hearing it SO much! But really the growth does come when you’re out of your normal! I’m rereading the Secret Code of Sucess by Noah St. John which is an amazing book for growth! There are so many things he discusses that really hit home and make you think about where you’re holding back in your business. He brings up that instead of a “comfort zone” it’s really a “familiar zone”. It’s what you’re used to! People have said to me “I can’t imagine ever doing public speaking” or “I could NEVER talk about something like that online”. But… THEY CAN! I did! Those were two things that were very unfamiliar to me. But man, did I GROW from them! If they push themselves out of that familiar they could do ANYTHING they wanted to! If you want to be successful you’ve got to do some things that aren’t familiar to you! Let’s get out of your familiar zone!!!

We’re at the halfway point for 2020!

When I was on the way to family camp, I went back and listened to a few earlier episodes of the podcast. Now that we’re halfway through the year I think it’s great to go back and visit some ideas and thoughts from the beginning of the year. I recommend episodes 10 and 11 to get you thinking about where you want to be in December of 2020.

We want to operate at our highest level of contribution. This is the area where you were born to do, make you come alive, and really thrive. I’m talking about this because I see SO many people in their businesses burnt out and beyond stretched thin. And honestly, no one is going to give you a badge for your girl scout vest for doing all the things! The ultimate goal in business is to add value to people for money in return. To get to that level, we’ve got to determine what is not the highest level of contribution for you.

I want you to grab a piece of paper and write these things down!

Write down three things you LOVE doing, outside of work, that only you can do.

A couple of examples for me would be dating my spouse and spending intentional time with my kids. These are things that no one else can do for me and they’re things I want to invest my time and energy in.

And now do them for your business. Write down three things you LOVE doing in your business and that you’re great at.

And for me, only I can have one on one conversations with people interested in the products or the opportunities. Only I can mentor and train my leaders. Yes, I can recommend books, training, etc… But I LOVE pouring into my team and I think they get the most benefit from direct training from me.

I believe the ultimate goal of a truly successful person is making money by doing less. And yes there are seasons when you have to work incredibly hard. But the long term goal should be to work less and still continue to earn more. You want to make that money operating at your highest level of contribution to this world. So how do you get there?

We recently moved, and what if I told you I hadn’t done laundry in three years until we moved. A scarcity I had for a long time was that I should be doing all the house chores and laundry since I’m a stay at home mom. But no! Hiring it out provided a job for someone who needed one, gave me more time freedom to work on what I needed to! During the move, I’ve lost my assistant who worked and helped at the house. I’ve noticed that I’m feeling a lot of stress and that’s because I’ve lost some of my systems of support.

So since I’m feeling stretched thin and stressed, I’m going back through and looking at my systems of support. I think it’s important to look at personal (marriage and self-care), family, and business as categories to set up these systems of support. Currently, I feel like my business support system is in good shape. I have an assistant who helps with podcast production, scheduling content, and with my Plexus business. I was noticing that I wasn’t doing as great in the personal and family categories. Systems of support for my personal area, include making a weekly date night a priority. We want to have a set date night every week and taking the time to be intentional together. If you haven’t listened to the podcast episode with Cedar Rock Ministries (link) go back and listen to what they say about the “red dot”. It’s a great way to communicate with your spouse. I also want to make working out and moving into my routine. Quiet time is also a big one that I need to implement. I love to spend time in the Word and with God. And if you’re working from home make sure you have a system set up to allow you focused time to work.

For family, you might want to put it on your priority list to do a family meal or an old fashioned family game night. Even sitting down altogether and watching a movie can be quality time. Systems of support for my home also looks like finding ways to give yourself a break. I’m looking for someone who helps with laundry, dishes, and extra help around the house. This may not be what you need at your home, but this is what I need for support. Hiring these things out helps me reach my main goals faster and who doesn’t want that?!

In your business, you have to make sure you set up systems in place that can be duplicated. If you have to do everything single thing yourself from scratch every time, you’re going to burn out! As a leader, you have to look at what you are modeling to your team. We can all celebrate you if you get to the top by yourself, but it’s not maintainable! You just can’t do it all well and running myself ragged. I want to be known for the things that I do WELL!

I hope that you really look into the area of your life that bring you the most enjoyment, and things that you could let go of!

We’ve recently moved to a new town with several more shopping opportunities like Sam’s Club. I was able to go last week with no kids in tow and just browse. As I was exploring the aisles, I came across a ten pack of nice socks and decided to buy them and get rid of all my old socks that didn’t match.

For my company’s online convention, I was asked what my vision was for the next year. I said, “I want to exude abundance and inspire that in others.” When I think about my underwear and sock drawer and the contents being old (like back from college kind of old), mismatched and just a mess I thought, wait that’s not exuding abundance and definitely isn’t going to inspire anyone else! So when I walked by those socks at Sam’s it reminded me of how a scarcity mindset had crept back into my life.

Suze Orman did one of the sessions at our virtual convention and something she said really stuck with me was, “powerful people attract money, powerless people repel money”.
I really want to dig into this concept and work on attracting money!

Money is immoral. It isn’t good or bad. It flows through people. In order for money to do good things, it has to flow through good people. So keep that in mind when you’re thinking about money!

When you think of powerful, what other words come to mind for you? For me when I think of powerful people,I think of confident, successful, influential, impactful, they know what they want and they know where they’re going. Are those characteristics that describe you?

Now how about powerless? I think of powerless people as weak, whiny, a worrier, or a wanderer. People that I describe as wanderers are people that haven’t decided if they’re all in. Until you decide to be all in, it's always going to be easy to get distracted and let your eye wander to other opportunities. Focusing and changing things about YOU is hard but it really helps you grow!

Is it your identity for money to always be tight, or to feel poor? This may be the story you’ve told yourself. But this doesn’t have to be your truth! You can watch others that have the qualities you admire, and we have the ability to change and focus on what we want to be, not what we were.

When I started my network marketing journey, I was terrified. But I printed out a picture of Hawaii and a Lexus and wanted those to drive me. I believed what I could be and have and I went all in! I didn’t dabble, I chose to be a professional. I got business cards and a website. I studied network marketers that achieved the success I wanted. And I went for it!

I had someone reach out to me recently that felt stuck in their business and they asked for one piece of advice I would give to her. I simply asked what book she was reading and she said nothing currently. That’s a sure sign you're not growing if you’re not learning. If you really want to be successful, you’ll be reading books and learning about how successful people grow, change, and become who you want to be.

I want to challenge you to nail down what you’re learning and what you’re teaching about your learning. Leaders teach people things. Do a live, or a training video and teach something important that you’ve learned. Powerful people are learners and leaders!

I’m SO glad you’re joining me on this journey of finding your self-worth. Your support means everything to me! Please subscribe, rate and review the podcast to help us grow this message and serve more people!

After a full week of fun (and unplugging! Woo!!) at family camp, I’m back and refreshed!

While I was gone I heard the news that Dave and Rachel Hollis were divorcing. I think audibly gasped. I was so shocked. If you’re not familiar with Dave and Rachel, they have a podcast, are authors and hold retreats. A lot of their subject matters centers on marriage and of course, they’ve talked about their own relationship.

And honestly, I don’t really want to talk about this topic. I don’t want to be misconstrued, misunderstood, or be insensitive. I’m not here to judge, and really this podcast isn’t Rachel and Dave, it’s about me, it’s about you and what triggers strong emotions.

When I first heard the news, I had a ton of emotions. I was angry, sad, and I felt deceived. But those are judgments and we’ll talk more about that in a second.

I decided to do the brave thing and really dive into why I was feeling such strong emotions. I want to share these three questions I used to help me figure out what was causing me to feel so strongly about the situation that didn’t really involve me.

  1. What triggered inside of me and why?

I interviewed for my team on my YouTube channel and felt like I knew her. I’ve followed her on social media and I know what her kids look like. Even though I haven’t followed her closely in the last year, I still feel connected to her and her life. I realized that one of my triggers is feeling like I’m being deceived. Rachel and Dave talk about having a date night weekly, doing marriage retreats and supposedly sharing their lives. Then they announced a divorce and I felt like I had been deceived by the story she had shown. I had to get honest with myself and see what was really bothering me about the situation.

  1. What judgments am I making without knowing the entire story?

I had to take a deep breath and remind myself that I don’t know her story. Just because she shares a lot of her life, doesn’t mean we’ve walked in her shoes. We don’t know the ins and outs of their relationship, we don’t know what it’s like to own their businesses, and we don’t have an inside view of their lives. I just had to have the gut check and remind myself that I don’t know what it’s like to be them and I will never know their whole story. And really there’s no need for us to know. I honestly asked God for forgiveness in my instant judgments and felt grace upon grace upon grace. I had so much more compassion for her and others who are going through tough things.

  1. What can we learn from this?

You can ask this question in any and all circumstances in life. When I was thinking about this question for myself, I thought about a time when my marriage was really struggling and it might have shocked a lot of people around me in everyday life. I had to remember that others and myself weren’t always more honest when things got tough in their lives. It saddened me that I hadn’t been more honest in my own life when things are hard. That’s real life! I’m not telling you to go out and be a whiner and complainer all the time. But I’m telling you that people connect with real-life and hard things! I just want to encourage anyone that is going through something hard to seek out help. I’m such a believer in counseling and therapy. I think it’s incredibly brave and not something to be scared of!

I want to encourage you not to throw out everything. Just today I did Rachel’s “Start Today” journal and she’s really helped me learn how to envision my future. I want to encourage you as Christians to take the good and spit out the bad. Use your discernment and make sure God is the loudest voice you’re listening to.

I heard this quote this week and I wanted to share.

"Heal so you can hear what's being said without the filer of your wound" I’m SO glad you’re joining me on this journey of finding your self-worth. Your support means everything to me! Please subscribe, rate and review the podcast to help us grow this message and serve more people!

Previously released Nov. 6th 2019

I hope you guys will take another listen to this podcast! I'm re-releasing this episode because I'm in the middle of a move and lots of upheavals. I know so much is out of our control currently and I want to encourage our focus to turn to Him!

What do you do when life throws you things out of your control?

I’ve had multiple freak out moments over the last two weeks and it has pushed me to think about how I deal with issues that are beyond my control.

I’ve missed a flight, left my laptop on a plane (with all of my podcast notes on it…) the day before I was supposed to start recording, and then I recorded three episodes with my mic not functioning correctly… Whoa. It’s been a big exercise in how I deal with big issues. I felt frustrated, mad, overwhelmed, and just plain dumb.

But it’s already happened… how can I move forward? How can I get past the big frustrating moment? I’ll be honest. I cried. And you know what?! I felt better after I let it all out.

I have 0 control of what has already happened. But I do have my control of my thoughts and actions moving forward. I allowed myself to process those upset emotions and that helped me move on.

How much head and heart space are you giving to things in the past, regrets, and things you can’t control? We all make mistakes. But powerful people don’t stop when things get hard. You pivot, process the emotions and move on.

You can’t quit on your purpose because things get difficult or go wrong. The only thing we can control is ourselves. So let go of the past and things that don’t serve your goals. You’ve got this and I’m so excited for us to start #walkinginworth.

If you haven’t listened to the episode yet head over to the podcast page to listen!

I’m SO glad you’re joining me on this journey of finding your self-worth. Your support means everything to me! Please subscribe, rate and review the podcast to help us grow this message and serve more people!

This week we're talking about efficiency and it's effects on your life! And spoiler alert... it's not always positive.

I recently came across the quote "a need for efficiency keeps me from accessing feelings." This is about us speeding for life. And I totally get it. Efficiency is incredibly important to me. Getting things done in a quick and easy way is how I prefer to do things.

When all of us are in that "to-do list" mode and just trying to get things done we forget our feelings.

I want to go over three ways you can really practice gratitude. When we focus on gratitude it can affect all areas of our lives. We all have so much to be grateful for! This is not a comparison game.

  1. Sit down and think about all the things you're grateful for. Pick a spot that brings you peace and let your mind go through the things you are thankful for and appreciate them.
  2. Get in nature. There is something powerful about reconnecting with nature and enjoying what God has for you. Just being in nature is special and focusing on the things around you will ground you.
  3. Write down 5 things you are grateful for each day. It can be a quick bulleted list or you can go as deep as you want. This is something you should enjoy! Even if it feels uncomfortable at first it is SO worth it!

I hope you take the time to incorporate these gratitude practices into your daily life!

This week we're going to talk about letting yourself really go there. Go into those emotions and feelings and really let them run their course. I know we just talked about keeping our hopes up last week, but today we're going to talk about what happens when you are feeling emotions and how to process them.

My daughter and I had a little girl's day last week and it involved a drive to our new house. It's a little bit of a drive and I found myself listening to James Taylor and getting emotional. I didn't even realize that I was stuffing down any emotions, but BOOM out of nowhere they hit me. I've been doing some big life changes, like a big move, trying to sell a home, so many details to deal with and I've obviously hit an exhausted stage. There is NOTHING wrong with feeling those emotions. Letting you mentally process them and think through the why. It's ok to feel overwhelmed, sad, and just upset. And there is no harm in letting yourself really go there. I usually really hold back and keep the tears from flowing. But it really hit me that it can be good to feel, and then return back to a positive attitude. A good cry is healing! We're all carrying a lot of weight around. Heavy burdens deserve to be processed and felt! If you haven't read The Shack, I highly recommend it. The beginning of the book is hard and heavy but keep going! There are many symbols and reminders that your tears can be healing and that they are so precious to God. Feel the feelings and then heal from them. Not avoiding means you have to sometimes experience painful emotions to move on from them! I’m SO glad you’re joining me on this journey of finding your self-worth. This week we’re talking about getting your hopes up again! When we’re in such a strange time where our routines are off and plans are ruined it’s important that we find something to hope

I went on a walk with a dear friend a few weeks ago. And I started talking about all my stress and worries. I found myself complaining about things that just keep getting put off and getting canceled. Even though I know why and I understand that it’s all a bunch of first world problems, I couldn’t help but vent. And my friend looked at me and said: “You have to have something to look forward to, you need to plan a trip or have something to hope for!”

And it gave me a big AHA moment. We so often don’t get our hopes up because we’re afraid of getting hurt. I have to be aware and say “No thank you Satan!” I don’t need to expect the worse to happen. We’ve all had those Debbie downer friends and that’s not who we should strive to be! We should work on getting our hopes up for good opportunities and not let fear stand in our way!

Leaders pivot! Don’t stop letting yourself get your hopes up out of fear!

I’ll leave you with this verse that has been my heart all year but has more meaning than ever!

“Against all hope, Abraham in hope believed and so became the father of many nations, just as it had been said to him, “So shall your offspring be.” Romans 4:18

This week we’re going to talk about UNLEARNING things. Most of us have had a big shift in day to day life. This gives us an opportunity to make changes, review our viewpoints, and evaluate our lives.

We’ve all had hard stop opinions. But now we can evaluate why and maybe even decide we were wrong. And there is NOTHING wrong with that! I’ve never really considered homeschooling for my family, and here we are in a different season of life and I’m looking into homeschooling for the fall. Is that what I thought would come out of this? Absolutely not, but I’m listening to God for guidance and taking His cues. When we’re still and quiet we can hear Him and let Him work through us!

If we're coming from a place of TRUST, we will receive His blessings!

I invite you to take a break at least one day of the week or month and focus on listening to Him, tuning out the noise and focus on your calling.

I’m SO glad you’re joining me on this journey of finding your self-worth. Your support means everything to me! Please subscribe, rate, and review the podcast to help us grow this message and serve more people!

I'm so excited to share an interview today with Brooke Thomas. She is an amazing, Godly woman who pours into other women and business owners. This interview was recorded Feb. 2020.

Brooke Thomas is the CEO of Live Out Loud. Her series of elite-level masterminds, live events, and the Live Out Loud Show podcast is designed to help women pursue their purpose with confidence. She runs a thriving online community offering regular training on mindset, leadership, and creating authentic relationships. Live Out Loud is a philosophy and strategy that impacts success at every level of life.
Brooke is also a top-earning industry expert in network marketing. Her multiple businesses generate a revenue stream of 7-figures.

I found Brooke by seeking for other Christian businesswomen who held retreats and training. I was lucky enough to join her Live Out Loud retreat in the fall and loved getting to know her more.

We go over a TON of great info in this episode. We talk about the gift of lifting people up and how to pause if you're feeling jealous, shameful, etc... and how to let the Lord heal that and focus on joy.

Brooke mentions Bait of Satan by John Bevere that she uses a lot in business and it helps you understand how or why you're offended and how to dig deep and solve the issue. Everyone struggles with SOMETHING and to find your pain point and learn to heal through that is so powerful!

Brooke also shares her story about her battle with cancer. She was diagnosed at 26 during the first trimester of her pregnancy. She describes that moment as changing everything for her. It shaped her view of life, God, and herself and she decided to lean into whom God created her to be.

I can't wait for you to listen to Brooke's story and wisdom!

This week we’re going to talk about the three reasons stillness can be GOOD for your business. Which may seem counterintuitive but hang with me!

Remember your business is YOU! So you’ve got to take care of yourself first. Why do we fight stillness? Why do we feel that just being present is wasting time? We’ve got to explore the why. Why are you avoiding or resisting the stillness?

Let’s do some journaling to evaluate how you’re feeling.

Journal Questions-

What happens when you’re still?

Why am I fighting this?

What is more important than this?

After several conversations with my dear friend Rebekah Fowlkes (@social_made_simple on Instagram go check her out!), she recommended the book The Four Keys to Hearing God’s Voice. We’ve shared some awakenings we’ve had in our personal lives and our businesses. I really believe in this season God is calling us to lean into our full potential and rise up to our greater purpose. But that requires stillness to be able to listen.

Three Benefits of Stillness for Your Business

  1. God wants to give you a creative idea. When we’re not in a routine mode, creativity is birthed. He has the best ideas and the best ideas for us. We have to be still to listen and ask for these things!
  2. He wants to tell us who to contact for your business. In my stream of business, network marketing, cold marketing sometimes turns people off. But I truly believe that He gives you the names of people that He wants us to reach out to and who needs our services or products.
  3. He wants to BLESS YOU and your business so you can bless others! Gifts and talents are to bless other people. And in your stillness, you can look for ways to bless people in new and different ways.

We need to use this time to evaluate our daily lives. And how you can talk to God about your priorities and how you can make the most of this time. I’m so excited for all the ways He is going to work and bless your life! Take those still moments to walk and work with him!

This song came to me as I was preparing for this episode and I want to share a few of the lyrics from Hillsong’s Still.

“Find rest my soul

In Christ alone

Know His power

In quietness and trust

And I will be still, and know You are God”

I'm sharing the very first episode of You're Worth It today. There is so much knowledge that can apply to this situation. I feel like we're looking at life with new lenses and this is something I definitely think we should revisit!

I have learned so much from my children. Their confidence and determination are incredible! We work so hard to build our children up. We encourage them to follow their dreams, pursue their passions, and try new things. We would NEVER say things to them like...

You're not good enough

Don't follow your dreams

You can't do that, I think you should quit

I don't want you to be successful

I want you to be in debt for the rest of your life

You deserve to stay stuck

I want you to compare yourself to others and always feel less than

I hope you always question your worth

We would NEVER say, think or believe these things about our children so WHY do we say and think and feel all these horrible negative things about OURSELVES. Great question, right?!

"If you defend your limitation you get to keep them". STOP IT! Stop holding yourself back, get out of your own way and live into your true calling!

One tool you can use to retrain your brain to be more positive is to use “Walking in Worth” statements and read them out loud daily. Here’s the link to download and write your own to use yourself! These are the TRUTHS you know and need to be reminded of on a daily basis of who you are and who you are becoming. If you haven’t listened to the podcast yet, head over to hear my own declarations!

We're entering week 4 of being home and self-isolating and adjusting to these changes in routine and dealing with the stress of the situation. I've really discovered that an ounce of certainty goes along. They've decided in our state to continue schools from home the rest of this school year. Even though this isn't a great thing, the certainty it gives is comforting. I know how to move forward, what kind of plans I need to focus on, and where I can go from here.

In this season, find your next baby step. For me, I'm looking at life for the next two months and working on a new schedule and a routine. There are changes collectively for the whole country and world. But really you can focus on how can show up for yourself and for your family.

This can be a season of change. Try things you never thought you would do. Maybe you've sworn off cooking and baking (like me!) but you're enjoying it and trying new things! So allow yourself to pivot and change your mind.

This has been a good reminder for me. Who we are is how we lead! In the first two weeks, I felt stuck. I was in a pattern of not feeling well, not doing well, and not taking care of myself. But your current health is how you show up for your family and for the people you lead. I had trouble figuring out how to show up during this time. But I decided to be honest and talk about how I was feeling on my journey and teach on that. Don't be scared, to be honest about where you are!

Take care of yourself and be gentle with yourself! The lens that you view the world through is often how you see the world and God. Focus on being hopeful, peaceful, and loving that's what you will see in the world!

If you haven't yet check out last week's rerelease and the freebie that goes along with it, I definitely recommend it! It's a great exercise to evaluate how you're feeling and coping, how to get proper rest and focusing on reconnecting with your family!

I can't wait for you to get to experience #walkinginworth first hand through rest and Cedar Rock!

This week I’m re-releasing one of my favorite episodes. I’m joined by Nick and Renee Fouts of Cedar Rock Ministries for a powerful conversation about rest and reconnection.

I think this episode is incredibly important in our current time. Even if you listened the first time, I encourage you to revisit it because you’ll see the need for rest in a whole new light.

A lot of us have been able to stay home during this crisis and even though you’re at home, you may be feeling far from rested. This episode will help you tune into what helps give your soul rest, not just your body. Being home with your family also gives you the time to focus on reconnection. Tuning out from media and turning your attention to your family will help you focus on what’s truly important.

I've got a free resource for you to download to help in your journey of rest and reconnection. Click here to download it now! We work through some of the issues you may have encountered and ways you can find intentional rest and connection with yourself, your family, and God!

If you’re not able to be home with your family during this time, I just want to say thank you and give you the biggest virtual hug. The people on the frontlines of this are tirelessly working to keep us safe, healthy and fed. I could not be more grateful and proud of your hard work. If you haven’t lately take the time to thank the essential personnel in your life!

As busy entrepreneurs work, work, work can easily lead to burnout. I’ve found for myself and many of the leaders on my team that what may seem counterproductive at first is the most important piece to success. REST. Also connection and awareness with your spouse, yourself and God. We often need to slow down, to speed up.

Nick and Renee Fouts are of Searcy, Arkansas are the founders of Cedar Rock Ministries.

It is an organization very dear to our family, one in which we serve on the board of trustees. It is a non-profit ministry for married couples and individuals who want to grow in their relationship with God and with each other. CRM’s mission is to provide effective opportunities for people to have a transforming encounter with God through seminars, retreats, counseling and spiritual direction.

At the heart of CRM is the belief that we are called to rest in the love and goodness of God and to live lives that flow out of that profound reality. So many Christians today live very busy, anxious lives that are marked more by fear and striving in their energy than by faith and serving in the strength of the indwelling Christ. Our understanding of spiritual formation is that growth is primarily a by-product of resting in the Presence of God.

I loved speaking with Nick and Renee about how they decided to form Cedar Rock, why rest and reconnection are so important and what steps you should take on your journey to connect deeper.

One thing that they teach on is the “red dot”. This concept says that your “red dot” is where you are right now. Compare it to the “You are Here” sign at a mall. The red dot tells you exactly where you are at that moment. It doesn't define you but gives you a chance to slow down enough to be present with what is going on with you in the moment. Awareness instead of avoidance. You can communicate your “red dot” with your spouse, friends, family or people you coach to provide better connection, insight, and understanding. So powerful in practice at this one of a kind retreats and that just scratches the surface as to what you experience at a Cedar Rock Retreat.

To learn more about their ministry and retreats visit their site here. Or their Facebook page here.

I can't wait for you to get to experience #walkinginworth first hand through rest and Cedar Rock!

I've been feeling unsettled during all of this. I've been feeling the pressure of being a leader and stepping up. Every day has not felt easy. But really, I've been feeling a strange sense of grief.
And may it not be grief in the traditional sense, but when you think about the phases of grief you can see how it relates.
Denial
Anger
Bargaining
Depression
Acceptance
Here's an article that gives some great insight on how this event relates to grief.

The power is in acceptance! Humans cling to certainty. It feels like if we know for sure when it's over, that it's easier to live through it. But there's no way to know! We've got to focus on today and take just one day at a time. If you let your mind worry about the future, the present will slip away from you.

Keep in mind, there may be a new normal. We've gone through trauma and it's not easy. We can be gentle on ourselves There is no right or wrong way to deal with grief. There is no proper way to process what we're going through right now. You know how to get out of it and when it's time you will change your focus, your thoughts, and your intention.

One thought that is helping me bring back my focus is "if this ends tomorrow. will I have done all I wanted to with my family." Those precious moments with my family is when I truly feel the presence of God. Take a break from the news and social media. Press into what the Lord is teaching and showing you.

One verse that I've been holding on to during these uncertain times is "against all hope, Abraham in hope believed" Romans 4:18. I firmly believe in saying verses out loud, repeating them, and walking with them. I want to encourage you to cling to hope, lean into discernment, and walk-in authority.

I had the privilege of hearing Christine Caine speak last fall and one thing she said that really spoke to me was "impossible is where God begins." For example, you can talk to someone across the country or across the world with no delay. We forget that's kind of impossible! It's crazy to think about that you can see and speak to someone so easily now when generations back we definitely didn't think that would be possible. So don't rule out anything just because it seems crazy in your eyes, it's God that has the control!

I have a feeling that life is going to be different once this period of social distancing and self-quarantine is over. Be ready for a season of change. And again give yourself grace and be gentle as we all try to adjust to our new normal.

I want to encourage you to try or learn something new at this time. There is so much creativity coming out of this isolation. If there is anything you have wanted to do or create GO FOR IT! People are providing free lessons for amazing things and there is no reason you can't be a part of it!

This is a special episode of You're Worth It to discuss what's going on right now in the world and what role you can play. Recorded 3/17

Kindness is the thing that can change people. I've seen people use rage, shame, and anger to try to get their beliefs across in the past and it breaks my heart! It is so important to display kindness and love to displace the fear in everyone's hearts.

I've been praying for wholeness over the year. Before the craziness of current times even started, I've had wholeness on my heart and on my mind. It was already an election year where people shout their strong opinions causing a divide. Now we're facing unknowns that really let the fear creep in.

Years ago when I would post on social media and someone disagreed with me I felt the strong need to debate and win my battles. Now things seem clearer and I don't feel strongly about being the person that proves myself right. HE fights our battles for us and no one on social media is worth our time and energy to debate!

We're all cooped up in our houses and spending extra time with our kiddos and families. And I just want you to remember that there are going to be good days and bad days. There will be days that you rock the homeschool lessons, find cool art projects for them to do and take care of yourself and workout too! But then there are some days that you may watch Netflix all day and that's pretty much it. That's ok. We're in a time of trauma and of crisis the last thing you need to be is too hard on yourself. There are no rulebooks for this crazy time. Take it one day at a time and just do what you can. There's no "right" way to do this! Just focus on being present with those you love!

I'm choosing to look at this quarantine as a time to connect with loved ones and spend intentional time with them. Take media breaks when you can. Try to disconnect from the things that are causing you stress and take comfort in the things you can enjoy!

I believe that discernment comes from God alone and that we have to actively LISTEN to what he is trying to tell us. We can't hear HIM if we're listening to others 24/7. When your thoughts are getting difficult to wade through, make sure you ask yourself "is this thought useful." If you're trying to find a way to busy yourself tackle a different closet or different spot daily.

I want you to know that I am praying for you! And I hope you'll join me in praying for kindness and wholeness for the world.

We've got to clear all the reasons you're NOT making money, to make room for wealth!
I'm continuing the money talk this week and I want you to see the things you're doing that's holding you back.
If you're blaming someone else for your lack of money, that's a big problem. If it's always someone else's fault that you're not where you want to be financially that's your mindset holding you back.
Jealousy is a tricky thing when it comes to money. It can often be disguised as you taking the moral high road, and we judge what we think they're doing wrong with their money. Sometimes we make judgments on if people "deserve" the things they get. Like cars, vacations, fancy things... Just stop the judgment! If you are stuck in that spiral, then it's a sure sign you're stuck in a scarcity mindset. If you catch yourself thinking "it must be nice!" then we need to flip your mentality.
Another thought that could be holding you back, is if you feel like things can never change for you financially. Where you are today is NOT where you have to be a year from now, a month from now, or even a week from now! People with an abundance mindset believe that the best is yet to come. No one is denying that you will have setbacks and you will have hard times, but these are things to learn from. Not to stop you in your tracks!
You're not going to make more money if you continue complaining about the money you do have. What you focus on expands. I used to avoid paying bills. No matter if we had the money or not, paying bills was a negative experience for me. It was so ingrained that paying the bills was miserable and not fun that of course, I didn't want to do it. When I changed the way I mentally approaching paying bills it made all the difference. I began to think about being grateful for each bill that I'm able to pay and thankful for what I have. When you focus on the good things you have in your life, you notice the good things around you.
If you catch yourself saying "I can't afford that!" you're operating at the level of your problem. You've got to change your story! Redirect your mindset to think "how can I change my priorities or save to get it?" When you view the opportunities instead of the obstacles it will change everything.
Are you living in a scarcity mindset or a growth mindset? You've got to be mentally prepped for growth and I'm so glad you're here taking the steps of being ready for abundance!
Journal prompt- If tomorrow you inherit 1 million dollars, what specifically are you going to do with it? I want you to write it down and plan it out! And of course, don't forget about taxes, giving, fun things for your family and how to invest it to grow your wealth further. I want you to share with me if this was easy or hard and how it made you feel!
I'm so proud of you putting in the work and not avoiding the hard topics. You're not capping your potential!

It's time to sign up for the STUCK to UNSTOPPABLE challenge! It's a 3-day challenge designed to test your limits and retrain your mindset. I can't wait to dive in with you!

Let's shoot it straight on this week's episode. I'm finally diving into a topic that I'm PASSIONATE about but is one of those subjects that so many people avoid. MONEY!
And we're going to talk about some of the limiting beliefs and views you've probably had surrounding money.
If you've said money isn't important, you probably don't have any...
You're not going to go for something or work for something that you don't find important!
I've been researching for years about what makes wealthy people different. What habits do they create, where their focus is, and how I can apply that in my own life! And of course, now I'm sharing it all with you!
Honestly, these people THINK differently.
If money is important to you, you'll want to get more of it and your goals and actions will reflect that!
And hear me out Christians... it is ok for you to want Jesus and want money. We have distorted this love of money idea. There is a HUGE difference between idolizing money and wanting money to make an impact. If I was the devil, I would work hard to make you believe that money is wrong!
If you're struggling with money, you're more likely to be losing sleep, fighting with your spouse, and staying stuck in this trap!
One book that has made a world of difference in my money mindset is Secrets of the Millionaire Mind: Mastering the Inner Game of Wealth by T. Harv Eker.

As you're reading this, I want you to have an open mind! He refers to "rich people principles" and "poor people principles". But I don't want you to think of it as "rich" and "poor". I want you to think of it in terms of "growth mindset" vs. "fixed mindset". On page 118 he describes something that hit close to home, "Many poor people actually believe they are better people because they are poor. Somehow they believe that are more pious, or spiritual, or good."
He goes on to tell a story about one of his seminars. He had someone come up to him at an event and ask "How can I feel good about having money when so many have so little." He proceeds to ask "How are you helping poor people by also being poor?" It's a great read and a real eye-opener!
It took some serious time and prayer for me to believe these TRUTHS and my goal is to share them and help you shift your mindset too!
There are SO many good things that money can provide. We often think of the material things related to what money can buy. And that's not what it's all about! There are wealthy people that are funding non-profits, creating companies and providing jobs for others, and pouring back into their communities and churches. There is GOOD in wealth!

At your core belief, do you believe that money is something you will never have? Let's explore that for a minute. What do I mean by explore? I mean sit down and journal. Get out a notebook and write out your feelings about money. What are your hang-ups? What emotions do you have tied to money? Write it all down and let your mind wander about your views on money and put them on paper.
Is your core belief that money is wrong? Do you believe that if you make money your spouse will spend it all? Do you believe that wanting money is selfish? Do you believe that you don't deserve money?
What if your beliefs are flipped and you feel like you are worthy of money and it's your responsibility to gain wealth? Things will change for you! You have to believe it!! If you haven't listened to the episode "Quit Stopping Yourself from Going to the Next Level" I definitely encourage you to check it out to learn more about these upper-level limits.
It's time to sign up for the STUCK to UNSTOPPABLE challenge! It's a 3-day challenge designed to test your limits and retrain your mindset. I can't wait to dive in with you!
Next week, we'll continue this talk and take the taboo out of MONEY!

Today we're talking about BRANDING!

Allison Andrews is our guest today and she's remarkable! Allison Andrews is a multiple Emmy award-winning television producer. She left a successful career in TV news to start her own content creation company and is now embarking on the story of her lifetime... visiting 50 places she's never been the year she turns 50.. all while juggling life as a single mom of a teenager and as a business owner! Her heart project, Milemarker 50, was born out of a chaotic period in her life and is a reminder we all have mile markers we can overcome with grace, and love and a little adventure! Her first children's book "The Adventures of Sid and Eli" comes out this Spring.

We talk about how you should own your expertise and that you don't have to be the best person in the world, just the best in the room. She reminds us that you can still learn from the experts above you, but you have a lot to give to the people that want to be in your spot. When you're defining your personal brand, it's important to consider what solution you provide. If you keep the focus on the problem that you solve, that helps your community the most. Always sell your solution, not a product! When a customer can connect with you and your story, it's more powerful.

Journal Prompt- Write down one problem that you solve, one thing you want to be known for and then list 3 different topics that you feel comfortable with and that goes with your brand and expertise. Doing this exercise will bring you more clarity on how you can best serve your ideal client.

Wait, what's an ideal client?! Ohhhh great question... And we're going to solve that today too! Here's the link for my newest freebie on how to determine who your ideal client is and how you can best serve them.

Another great resource to dig deep into your brand is Donald Miller's Building a StoryBrand: Clarify Your Message So Customers Will Listen.

One thing I LOVED that Allison covered was how to pitch to more traditional news outlets. Traditional media can seem intimidating but she breaks it down to such a basic formula that it's totally doable! She talks about what specifically to send, how to leverage ongoing news and how to relate it to your subject matter and the general dos and don'ts.

Have you been stuck at the same level at your business for the last year? Or made the same amount of money? We're going to talk about upper-level limit today and how you are holding yourself back!

A thermometer is just there to tell you what your temperature is right now. But a thermostat... If you set your home thermostat at 72 that's where it will stay. If it gets cold outside the heat will kick on and it will keep your house at 72. If it gets hot the air conditioning will kick on and keep your house right at 72. So no matter what the conditions your thermostat is going to keep your home temperature right where it's set. And this is just like upper-level limit.

Your subconscious is on autopilot! In its core, your upper-level limit is telling you that you don't deserve everything, to expect the worst and to hold you back. It is so easy to let Satan attack your hopes and dreams! But you can RISE above this limit you have set inside yourself. You have to show up and BELIEVE! You have to BELIEVE that you deserve more happiness, you have to BELIEVE that you deserve more money and that you deserve to be leading a fulfilling life!

YOU ARE NOT A FAILURE! Way too many people give up on their dreams because it's getting too hard or they're feeling like they've maxed out. What if you're just hitting an upper-level limit?! I can't wait for you to hear this episode and hear my own struggles with my limit. There are some serious emotions I spilled out this week and I hope it hits you just as hard as it hit me.

Don’t forget to check out The Big Leap by Gay Hendricks to learn more about your upper-level limit. Perfect to listen to on Audible!

What if we viewed failure as a stepping stone and not a stopping zone?
Failure is inevitable and we need to stop letting it get us down!

Fear of failure has to go back to certainty or uncertainty. If you're waiting to be 100% certain without a doubt, it's not going to happen. The sooner you embrace uncertainty, you can start really living your life.

Everything has a lesson, but it takes reflection to see the lesson behind the failure. You will always find what you're looking for. If you are focused on how you are stuck, how you are a failure, and that's the identity you've taken on, you will find proof of that.

My prayer is that you can break FREE of this feeling and of this cycle. And you're going to do this by recognizing how this powerful thought is keeping you from the things you really want in life. It's keeping you from making a greater impact and fulfilling your bigger purpose.

If you're feeling stuck, why don't you shift your mindset to look for clues to help you get unstuck. If you're feeling like a big failure, look for things around you that prove your success.

You will ALWAYS find what you're looking for. So look for the good, the empowering, the positive things and that is what you will find!

Want to take your growth a step further? Try a journal prompt and get out those thoughts and feelings!

Journal Prompt- When a situation is not going how you hoped, what went wrong and how can I show up differently next time?

Let me tell you what's not going to change your life...
Attending every single live event you could sign up for,
Reading every book you could ever get your hands on,
Buying every course you could ever take,
Watching every single training video that has ever been put out there...

What's going to change your life is when you IMPLEMENT what you've learned from these events, books, courses, and training!

This week we're going to talk about never leaving the scene of the decision without taking action. Implementation is EVERYTHING!

You can't do every single little tip, trick or piece of advice you've ever heard. You have to be discerning about the concepts and ideas that you are going to implement in your life.

Recognize, Replace and Repeat!
These three things are going to be HUGE on your journey to implementing new practices.

The first step of implementation is that you have to recognize what you're learning. Look for the A-HA moments when you're learning!

The second step is to replace the behavior of how you used to do it, with the new thing that you want to implement.

The last thing you need to do to implement is to repeat. Our habits and rituals make us who we are. So when you're learning something new you have to continue to do it over and over before it becomes natural to you.

I really want you to be the best leader that you can possibly be! So I want you to skip that pause moment and fight the procrastination to start implementing what you've learned!

This is not a recipe for just network marketing success these things can give you success in any area of focus.

I feel like there are 3 big reasons that I had success quickly.

Positivity
One verse that really speaks to me and my journey is Romans 12:2, the passion translation.

Stop imitating the ideals and opinions of the culture around you, but be inwardly transformed by the Holy Spirit through a total reformation of how you think.

We have to beware of how we think, and get rid of “stinkin thinkin”! The ways that you are thinking can be causing you harm. Your thoughts are that POWERFUL!
Belief was something that was so important to me and my success. My husband and friends weren’t on board with my network marketing business, but I protected my belief and committed to my growth and success!

If you’re not already doing the #walkinginworth statements from Episode 1 make sure you download them here and get to work! The 2020 Vision workbook could really benefit you too, if you’re looking for a thinking shift. They will help form your positive outlook and mindset.

Problem Solver

The victim mentality is a real problem! If you’re not where you want to be, or have what you want to have, YOU have to ask YOURSELF “why don’t I already have it?”

You do not have to keep doing what isn’t working. You have to reflect, journal, make progress! We have to be honest and get to the root of what isn’t working and how to SOLVE it!

You are a powerful person. You can reevaluate and make solid choices to provide yourself with the things you want. We will always default back to what is comfortable. You have to push yourself and learn to live with the uncomfortable and DO SCARY THINGS!

Proactive

Successful people and leaders are PROACTIVE! If you are in the online space, you have to post consistently and passionately. The social media algorithms are constantly changing but if you are consistent and add value to people's lives through your content you can still impact people. Episode 10 talks about the 5 ALIVE and how it can help you!

There is a buzz around the new year. Fresh starts, new routines, creating habits, it's in the air! This year I've chosen a word of intention and it's "simple".

If you haven't yet, head over and download the 5 ALIVE journaling activity. It's so important to intentionally set our focus on what matters! I spoke specifically about my 5 ALIVE choices on the last episode of You're Worth It (link here in case you missed it!). It includes a tool to help you determine your word of intention!

One thing you can do to set yourself up for success is to plan the night before what you want to do tomorrow. This includes focusing on your 5 ALIVE! This puts your head in the right space to prepare for your goals.

If you've found your word it's time to put it on paper. Write it, print it, draw some fancy word art... I don't care how you do it, but put it out there and bring your focus back to it daily. The things you focus on are the things you accomplish!

This is not a set in stone activity. Finding your word may not happen the first week or you may pick a word and change next month. That's ok! This activity's goal is to get you to focus on what's important to you. If that changes that is 100% fine!

Think about your family, business, home and imagine what consistency and intention could do for your life!

In today’s podcast we’re covering a lot, and it’s all to get you ready for the new year!

Two things that I think are very important to be intentional about are managing your expectations and using visualizations.

Last year I imagined my birthday party. It was kind of an out of the box idea. I wanted to have my friends come over to my house and do a dance class, have my home beautifully decorated for Christmas, have a meal with my friends and then have them spend the night. This is what I saw for my birthday. And instead of mentioning things to my husband or just hoping that it came together or dismissing my ideas as not happening. I made them happen. My expectations were high, so I made it work and helped plan it. It was so fun and exactly what I wanted!

You can take your visualizations and make them reality! It takes time, patience, and focus but it’s so worth the effort!

I’m so excited to share with you my 5 alive practice for 2020! I want you to choose 5 things that are very important for you in 2020. I want you to speak these things, write these things, pray over these things and visualize what your life will look like in December 2020 if you are intentional about your 5 things.

Here are my 5 alive daily intentions-

I will serve my husband and be intentional with my time with him.
I will spend intentional time with my children and lift them up.
I will work out with a focus on my arms and butt.
I will visit scripture and seek out the Word daily.
I will add value to the world.

And I want you to set yours too! I’ve created a free tool to help you set your 5 alive intentions and you can download it here!

Once you’ve completed it I encourage you to share. Share with your friends and family, share with your team, and share on your social media (of course tag #walkinginworth because I want to celebrate with you!) to put your intentions out in the world and make yourself accountable to them.

Over Thanksgiving break, I had the opportunity to go on a trip to Costa Rica with just my family of four. Now before I talk more about it you don't have to take a trip to unplug, this was just my planned unplugged time and I'm bringing it to my daily life.
I turned my phone completely off for an entire week. I didn't wake up and check my phone in the morning. I didn't lay down for bed and check social media just one more time. I found myself not being short with the kids, not fussing at my husband, and I thought wow there is something to this.

So after you listen to today's episode try to unplug with me! Start with two-hour chunks and see how you do! Plan ahead your time off your phone and stick to it. You've got this!

I hope you join me in this unplugging challenge daily and as always share your journey on Instagram with #walkinginworth!

What if having a completely different life required you to do something you said you would NEVER DO?!

There have been several times in my life where I had completely 100% decided that something wasn’t for me, wasn’t going to do it, not even going to consider it. My mind was made up. But God loves to humble us and show us how wrong our plans and judgments can be.

I’m a self-proclaimed non-pet owner. Not an animal person, not a dog person, not doing it. Dogs are great for other families, but nope not mine. When we got back from our Thanksgiving vacation, there was a little dog at our back door. A few days later, we have a dog with a personalized collar, an expensive vet visit, and a Christmas sweater. Yep, a Christmas sweater. Here we are, now dog owners and I’m eating my words.

One of the biggest things I said I would never do was start with a network marketing business. And I’m so glad I proved myself wrong! It is such a blessing in my life and I’ve been able to share that with others and help improve their health and finances!

I hope you take the time to rethink some of your “nevers”. And as always share your journey on Instagram with #walkinginworth.

This week I share an interview with two of my favorite people that are using their gifts in such an amazing way!

So powerful in practice at these one of a kind retreats and that just scratches the surface as to what you experience at a Cedar Rock Retreat.

To learn more about their ministry and retreats visit their site here. Or their facebook page here.

I can't wait for you to get to experience #walkinginworth first hand through rest and Cedar Rock!

So excited to share episode 6 of You’re Worth It! with you! This week we have a short but sweet episode all about how to use comparisons in your life in a healthy and positive way.

Comparisons are natural and yes they can be tough to deal with. But if you’re choosing to see comparisons as a way to drive your goals and your intentions, then it can lead to your success!

Have you ever heard the quote “you’re the sum of the 5 people you spend the most time with”? Think about who you’re around the most. Are they mentally healthy? Are they inspiring you to do better, act better, be better? Make sure you’re choosing people to be in your life that are fostering your growth and building you up!

Are you allowing yourself to be inspired to change? Use those comparisons as fuel for your growth!

Let’s continue #walkinginworth!

Thank you for tuning in to episode 5 of the You’re Worth It! Podcast!

Well, launch day was HUGE! And I could not be any more grateful for your support. You guys showed up big time and shared on social media, asked your friends and family and did a great job rating, reviewing and subscribing! Without your help, we could not have charted in business, education and health and fitness!

This week we’re going to talk about over-committing. Overcommitting in your life and just plain over-scheduling yourself. We’re all victims to it at one point or another. I’ve spent so much time away this year. Doing huge life-changing activities! I’ve had opportunities that I just couldn’t pass up. I’ve grown my business, gone to conferences, visited Hawaii and poured into members of my company and team. But now I’m battling illness for several weeks, when I typically don’t get sick. I’ve overwhelmed myself and my schedule.

But I’m grateful for this breaking point! This is a lesson to learn and I can learn for next year. I can say yes to less in the future. And take time away from social media to get recalibrated, and refocus on what’s most important for our life.

I’m working on being more intentional and this is something we can work on together. I’m developing some fun, new things for 2020 and I can’t wait to share!

There are three things I recommend doing to reset your intentions and take control over your schedule.

-Get up early and create routines.

Every book on successful people recommends getting up early. This was a tough one for me because I’ve always been one to want to sleep in. But getting up early, taking time in God’s word, focusing on what I need to accomplish for the day is very important and can be life-changing.

-Anything you want to focus on will thrive more.

If your marriage has been rough lately, take your time and attention away from things that aren’t serving you and put them on your marriage.

-Do a debrief every day.

Just write down your thoughts for the day. What went well? What could I change for next time?

You are not a victim of your schedule. You’re in control and you’re in the driver’s seat!

I hope this helps you gain some clarity on how to be in charge of your schedule!

I like to call myself a recovering perfectionist. I used to spend a lot of time and energy on making decisions. So how do you find that clarity we all strive for?

Imagine yourself at a brand new restaurant. You’ve never seen the menu and they have pages of choices. Overwhelming, right? So you ask your spouse what they’re getting, your mom, your sister… But is that truly going to bring you clarity about what YOU want? No! Ordering will bring you clarity. Worst case scenario you don’t love what you ordered… Guess what?! You can order something different the next time. You just have to make a choice and go for it.

Clarity is on the other side of execution. Do what you have been avoiding, just pick something!

Take a deep breath and remember that done is better than perfect. If you decide to change your choice, just pivot!

My sweet husband planned a date for us to go to Barnes and Noble. He wanted me to pick out a book for me, a book for him and a book for the kids. I was overwhelmed by the stack of 20 books I have on my to-read list at home and just plain stressed and making that decision was too much in the moment. And I absolutely looking back just wish I would have grabbed one and continued on with our date. Just make that choice!

Leaders are not avoiders! We have to take control of our decisions. I don’t know what that looks like for you. Maybe you need to have that hard conversation, ask for a promotion, do that live video or start your dream business.

Let’s start #walkinginworth, don’t avoid the scary thing, just do it!

I’m SO glad you’re joining me on this journey of finding your self-worth. Your support means everything to me! Please subscribe, rate and review the podcast to help us grow this message and serve more people!

Thank you for tuning in to episode 3 of the You’re Worth It! Podcast. I’m so thrilled to be sharing with you today something that is SO important to embrace for leaders.

“Where else can an introvert make more money than a brain surgeon from their iPad in their yoga pants?”

This was the opening line to my speech to 12,000 people at the MGM Garden Grand Arena in Las Vegas and I was scared out of my freaking mind. To be honest, public speaking is not my best asset it is something that I have learned a lot about and I strive to get better at it. As you know leaders are not avoiders so public speaking is something that you can NOT avoid. I’m not saying you should be comfortable heck I’m not even comfortable public speaking yet. But it is something I’ve practiced learn strategies that help me cope with the fear of speaking to a large group of people, and I want to share these with you.

Listed below are two books that have really helped me with the skills I need to be a better public speaker. I highly recommend them to advance your speaking talents.

Talk like Ted by Carmine Gallo

Stories That Stick by Kindra Hall

I have 5 tips you help you prepare to public speak.

Content- I know it’s tempting to go off the cuff, but I highly recommend making sure your content is prepared and organized. Storytelling helps people make real-life connections to you and your message. Choose to add something in that people can relate to and memorable that will evoke laughter, tears or change.

Rehearse- Respect your time limit and practice your speech. I really recommend practicing in front of real people to help you with delivery.

Visualize your end result- I want you to think about the main goal for your speech as you’re going on stage. Picture yourself after your speech, knowing you killed it and it went amazing. Think about the value you’re providing! It will help your confidence on stage.

Ease nerves- You may need to jump up and down, you may need to sit quietly and read over your materials, whatever it is that comforts you before a speaking engagement take note and lean on that for future speeches. No judgment, I’m often antsy and circle the room in prayer to stay grounded.

Own it!- Stand tall, speak with boldness, be proud of your message and laugh at yourself if you mess up and move on!

I challenge you to do a live video! It can be on Facebook or Instagram, just do it! You don’t have to be an expert just know a little bit more than most people. Educate, Entertain or Empower your audience. Just pick one, prepare your content, keep it short and simple and GO for it! You’ve got this! And if you’ve never done a live before I want to know so I can cheer you on! Send me a DM on Instagram or a quick email and let me know contact@jessicahefley.com.

You’ve got this and you’re ready or more prepared for your next speaking event small or big!

I’m SO glad you’re joining me on this journey of finding your self-worth. Your support means everything to me! Please subscribe, rate and review the podcast to help us grow this message and serve more people!

I’m so excited you’ve joined me on this journey to launch the You’re Worth It Podcast! We’re only on episode 1 and I feel some big information coming and I hope you’re ready to start #walkinginworth with me!

A couple of things I can promise you is that in this space I won’t avoid hard topics. Area’s that God has refined me by fire. The areas I attribute to my success. It wasn’t easy but it was worth it because I’m worth it and it's my heart’s longing for you to know YOU are worth it. We WILL talk about the things you probably need more awareness in or need more of but may feel guilty or scared talking about like money, scarcity and abundance mindset, fear, self-care, God, therapy, marriage, and sex.

Everything in our lives are connected and if we are really stuck or struggling in one area it can steal our peace and the other areas won’t be able to truly thrive. I literally get a THRILL when someone has a breakthrough in these areas. When someone realizes they are worth it, worth fighting for, worth loving themselves, worth chasing their dreams, worth being and having more. Shame needs secrecy to survive so we are going to talk about it…we’re all friends here and friends have nothing to hide except the mask and actually don’t hide the mask go it THROW IT AWAY! There is no place for it in this space and its next to impossible to change when you’re not being honest.

Give yourself some compassion. God is in the business of setting the captive free and since he did that for me, I’m honored to partner with Him in doing that for you. You’re not here by accident. You’re not here to stay the same. The pressure is off. You are welcome here.

You may not know you’re worth it yet…but you will.
