An umbrella probably has a curved handle in most cases. I was wondering - why? Is it that the umbrella fits better in the hand? Is it that it can be held better and with less effort in windy and nasty weather? Or is it analogous to a walking stick for support? Or is it more aesthetic? Or more practical, because the umbrella can be hung up when not in use? Honestly, I don't know and none of these questions gives me a satisfactory answer or one that convinces me. That's how we feel about some things in life. They leave us with many questions that we sometimes can't answer satisfactorily for ourselves. If you are in such a situation - don't stay there too long, but take it as it is, trusting that it is good for you. And if you forget to go on trustingly - the next rain may be a reminder for you.
