What we do know is that Jesus went around taking sickness off people and never putting it on anyone. If ever you're uncertain about God's goodness just look to Jesus! One third of His entire ministry was healing the sick. He cured all kinds of diseases, opened blind eyes and deaf ears, raised the crippled, delivered people from demonic oppression, even raised people from the dead. Jesus came to REVEAL the "Will of the Father". This is incontrovertible evidence that God desires to take sickness and oppression OFF people, NOT put it ON them!
Sickness is a spirit of death but Jesus is the Spirit of life. The devil operates through oppression and death but Jesus operates through life and victory. This is made clear in the Scriptures:
ACTS 10:38 "how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power. He went about DOING GOOD and HEALING ALL who were OPPRESSED BY THE DEVIL, for GOD WAS WITH HIM."
JOHN 10:10 "The THIEF comes only to steal and KILL and destroy. I came that they may have LIFE and have it ABUNDANTLY."
MATTHEW 10:7-8 "And proclaim as you go, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’ HEAL THE SICK, raise the dead, cleanse lepers, cast out demons. You received without paying; give without pay."
MARK 16:15-18 "And he said to them, “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will cast out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up serpents with their hands; and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them; they will LAY THEIR HANDS ON THE SICK, and THEY WILL RECOVER.”
The Body of Christ is here on earth to continue to reveal the will of the Father which is to save people and take sickness off them.
It was the Fathers absolute will to heal the sick. Jesus revealed that will by the mighty works He did in healing the sick. And now it's God's absolute will for us to continue that work by healing the sick. No other scripture better encapsulates this truth more than the following:
JOHN 14:8-14 Philip said to him, “Lord, show us the Father, and it is enough for us.” Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and you still do not know me, Philip? Whoever has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words that I say to you I do not speak on my OWN AUTHORITY, but the FATHER who DWELLS in me DOES HIS WORKS. Believe me that I am in the Father and the Father is in me, or else believe on account of the WORKS themselves. “Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes in me will ALSO do the works that I do; and GREATER WORKS than these will he do, because I am going to the Father. Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it.
When you pray for someone to be healed you are praying the PERFECT WILL OF GOD!
